Bio
Destiny Chukunyere was born on August 29, 2002. She lives in Birkirkara and attends 'Our Lady Immaculate School' in Ħamrun. Her father is Nigerian former footballer Ndubisi Chukunyere, while her mother is Maltese. She has two younger siblings; a sister Melody and a brother Isaiah. Destiny has been singing since the age of 10 and is being tutored by IVA Instructor Maria Abdilla for her voice and Roberta Debono for her stage presence; apart from her passion towards singing, Destiny loves acting too. She has participated in various singing competitions and her talent has always been recognized as she emerged triumphant by winning first places and also winning the overall in others. One of the competitions Destiny took part in was the "Singer Stage International Festival" which included participants from seven different countries. In this competition, Destiny won the best interpretation award and also won the overall Grand Prix. One of Destiny’s big achievements included her win in the Sanremo Junior Malta where she won the right to represent Malta in Sanremo for the International Grand Finals in the Ariston Theatre in May. There she was accompanied live by the symphonic orchestra of Sanremo under the direction of Leonardo Lasserra Ingross and under the patronage of Paolo Alberti. She competed against different countries but she emerged victorious for Malta by winning the overall Grand Prix of the 5th edition of this competition.
Destiny is always on the lookout for a challenge and in September 2014 she had the opportunity to participate in the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza Junior with her first original track "Festa T'Ilwien" which is written by Emil Calleja Bayliss to Mark Spiteri Lucas' composition. This also happened to be the first time Destiny was singing a song in Maltese and she managed to achieve third place in this prestigious song festival, quite a feat for the young performer. Later on, Destiny also managed to win the "Singer of the Year" in a competition organized by Erseb Productions and by virtue of winning the competition she won the right to represent Malta in FYR of Macedonia in October of 2014. Her participation in the "Asterix Original Song Festival" was another success as she emerged victorious with her original entry "Live & Let Live’, once again penned by Emil Calleja Bayliss and composed by Mark Spiteri Lucas. The festival itself is well known in Eastern Europe as many know it as the Junior Eurovision of the East, in fact there were fifteen countries competing. After this experience, another opportunity came knocking on Destiny’s door when she auditioned for 'Next Generation' on Sky Italia, after passing the audition stage, Destiny went on to compete in the finals where she managed yet another victory. Thanks to this she had the opportunity to sing in a big concert in Verona.Representing Malta in the Junior Eurovision has always been something Destiny aspired and wished to do. In July, she was amongst one of the twenty finalists in the Malta Junior Eurovision; with the Aretha Franklin song "Think" once again she managed to triumph amongst some of Malta’s best talents and thus winning the right to represent Malta in the 2015 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Bulgaria.Destiny worked alongside the winning song writing team Elton Zarb and Matt Muxu Mercieca to create her Junior Eurovision entry "Not My Soul". The song was well received from the get go and she ended up winning the 2015 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Bulgaria with a record of 185 points which included the top points from eight countries and also managing to win the kids jury. On 13 December 2015, Chukunyere and her team were awarded the Midalja għall-Qadi tar-Repubblika.
In early 2017, Chukunyere auditioned for series 11 of ITV's Britain's Got Talent again singing "Think" by Aretha Franklin, where she was given four yeses. She qualified to the live show and was eliminated in the second semi final performing another song by Aretha "Respect". In 2019, Destiny performed at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 as backing vocalist for Michela's entry "Chameleon". In X Factor Malta Destiny was mentored by Ira Losco. At the show she has performed Giving Myself, Proud Mary, Don't Call Me Up, It's a Man's World, Higher Love, I Will Survive, He Lives In You, And I Am Telling You, This Is Me, River Deep Mountain High (with Amelia Lily), Fejn Staħbejtli, and original song "Save The Hero". Destiny keeps on thriving to better herself and she is well focused on her career. She has a number of upcoming events planned both locally and also beyond Maltese shores. Her outgoing, bubbly and kind hearted and determined character helps her in many ways. Her dream is to continue improving within her area of expertise and hopes that one day she becomes a great music artist. The piano has always been an instrument which fascinates Destiny and in fact she is looking forward in starting lessons in the near future because she knows that this will help her further her music knowledge. For her young age, Destiny is very mature and knows that in order for one to succeed in this industry one needs to sacrifice a lot, work hard and always strive in being better whilst staying firmly grounded which can easily be considered her life motto.

12/01: First Live Show completedPreselection
On 11 October, PBS has confirmed that X Factor Malta winner will again represent Malta in Eurovision Song Contest. With 19 programmes lined up, starting on Sunday the 6th October 2019. The final session to determine the winner will be held on Saturday 8 February. On 20 January it was revealed that the X Factor Malta will return for a second season, and singers over the age of 15 were invited to able to apply to compete in the series. All artists must be of Maltese nationality. In the case of a group comprising two or more artists, the lead artist must be of Maltese Nationality. Interested person should message +35699202019 via WhatApp with details including Name, Surname, Age and Email and a clip (up to 1 minute) of singing any song. Application form also was available online.
Ben Camille has been announced as Malta's most loved TV personality to date. As a matter of fact, Ben Camille won the award for "Malta's Favorite TV Personality Of All Times' during the latest edition of the Malta TV Awards. In 2016, for the first time ever, the Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) decided that the Malta Eurovision Song Contest would be hosted by one host, as opposed to the usual couple. This responsibility was entrusted to Ben Camille. After this, only 8 months later, Ben was once again entrusted by PBS to represent Malta on an international stage this time, as Ben hosted the actual Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which was held in Malta in November 2016. 
Howard Keith - Founder of Jagged House Music Company he has helped shape Malta's growing music scene developing and managing Malta's top acts these last 15 years. His long list of successful productions, touring experience & also being one of the organizers of Earth Garden festival make him an exceptional music mentor. He has also worked on 40+ international productions as well as Hollywood blockbusters such as ‘Lord of the Rings'. Known for saying it as it is, spotting talent and nurturing it to it's max.
Ira Losco - Arguably the biggest pop star in Malta with over 22 music awards under her belt, 8 albums, over 100 songs, multiple music publications including a DVD and a book . She's been Malta's best selling artist retaining a record number spot on ITunes for 28 consecutive weeks. Performed in over 25 different countries around the world, she recently collaborated with international superstar Jason Derulo following her recent double album release.
Alexandra Alden (24) is a Maltese musician and artist who is currently based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, where she obtained a degree in music at the CODARTS Conservatory in July 2018. She moved to the Netherlands at the age of 19 to further pursue her career in music. Her first EP 'The Curious Child', recorded at the age of 16, resulted in two number one hit singles in Malta in 2012 and 2013. Her debut full-length album 'Wild Honey' was recorded at Rocktown Studios in Rotterdam and is available on VINYL, having been released in the Benelux and Malta in July 2018 with further releases scheduled in Scandinavia, US and Canada for late 2018 and early 2019. Her album was released on the international Dutch label 'M.A.R.S Worldwide'.
Ray Mercieca - He captured the imagination of the Maltese youth culture of the 80's after securing a record deal , which was a first for Malta. This was followed with the best selling local band in the 90's called ‘The Characters' which he used to front. Ray has returned to fame these last few years with the comeback of his legendary band ‘The Rifffs' having released 2 albums to date, toured across Europe as well as headlining top renowned Festivals. Among participating acts are: Destiny (JESC 2015 winner), Francesca Sciberras (JESC 2009), MESC participants: Francesca Borg (2012), Deborah C (2012 - 2018), Matt Blxck (2018), Danica Muscat (2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018), Jasmine Abela (2016, 2018), Cherton Caruana (2017), Rhiannon Micallef (2017, 2018).
On 8 January TVM made a call for the original songs suitable for 4 finalists to be performed on the final night of the project. Entries should be sent to xfactor@tvm.com.mt until 18 January. Submitted songs must be 3 mins long, modern and relevant to 2020 music landscape, identifiable and ideally stand-out songs. The songs should be unreleased and not performed in a public in any way. Songs should be subitted as demos with singer voice, half playback with backing vocals an full instrumental. The X Factor team will select artist suitable for the performance of shortlisted entries from the list of finalist of the project.

1. Judges regrouped before Bootcamp and divided the participants in 3 groups. Those who they think should progress to Phase 2 of Bootcamp, those who the Judges think would fit in a group and those who are still doubtful about whether they should progress or not.
2. The Wall of Songs: is the part where all participants run towards the iconic wall which full of song titles. During this part participants are grouped together according to the song chosen. After this part, Participants either progress, are told that the journey ends here or told to wait.
3. Those who are told to wait are given their fate: Either in or out of the programme.
4. The newly formed groups together with the remaining Participants perform again and are told if the journey stops there or else they are off to the next phase - The Chair Challenge.

The Six Chair Challenge splits the hopefuls into four different categories and they are each assigned a mentor for the show, as they are then whittled down mercilessly to just six per group. Contestants have to sing individually in front of the judges each act's mentor then decides if they deserve one of six coveted seats – but they could be knocked out if their mentor decides to replace them with a subsequent performer. The lucky six left in the chairs win a spot at judges' houses, the last stage before the live finals.

В сентябре 2014 года Дестини принимает участие в Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza Junior со своим первым оригинальным треком "Festa T'Ilwien", который был написан Эмилем Каллеей Бэйлиссом на музыку Марка Спитери Лукаса. В июле она входит в число двадцати финалистов национального отбора на Детское Евровидение на Мальте; с песней Ареты Франклин "Think" она снова одержала победу и, таким образом, получила право представлять Мальту в 2015 году на Детском Евровидении в Болгарии. 11 октября телекомпания PBS подтвердила, что победитель шоу X Factor Malta снова будет представлять Мальту на конкурсе Евровидение. В рамках шоу будут представлены 19 программ, которые начнут выходить в эфир с воскресенья, 6 октября 2019 года. Также в нем примут участие постоянные наставники - Говард Кит, Ира Лоско, Александра Олден, Рэй Мерчика и ведущий Бен Камилл. Финальное шоу, в котором будет определен победитель, состоится в субботу 8 февраля. 20 января стало известно, что X Factor Malta вернется на свой второй сезон, и исполнители старше 15 лет были приглашены для участия в проекте. Все участники шоу должны быть гражданами Мальты. В случае группы, состоящей из двух или более артистов, ведущий артист должен иметь мальтийское гражданство. Заинтересованные лица должны были отправить сообщение абоненту +35699202019 через WhatApp с подробной информацией, включая свое имя, фамилию, возраст и адрес электронной почты, а также клип (до 1 минуты) с исполнением любой песни. 8 января TVM призвал авторов присылать оригинальные песни, подходящие для 4 финалистов, которые будут исполнены в последний вечер проекта. Заявки следует присылать по адресу xfactor@tvm.com.mt до 18 января. Представленные песни должны быть продолжительностью 3 минуты, современными и соответствующими музыкальному ландшафту 2020 года, узнаваемыми и в идеале выделяющимися. Песни не должны быть выпущены и никоим образом представлены публике ранее. Песни должны быть присланы в виде демо с голосом певца, инструментальной версии с бэк-вокалом и чистой инструментальной версии. Команда X Factor выберет исполнителя, подходящего для исполнения отобранных композиций из списка финалистов проекта.
