Famous stars and brand new names: DR has revealed 10 finalists of this year's Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. Five of the songs took part in this year's semi-finals, with three being voted on to the final by the users on dr.dk, while two others have been awarded a wildcard by the DR's district jury. They join five other final songs, which - so far - have been secret.

The Romanian Public Television (TVR) initiates the ESC 2020 project with a brand new approach, similar to the one successfully used, for many years, by other European countries in selecting their national representatives for the Eurovision Song Contest. The new mechanism was decided after a thorough analyze of the domestic music market's specificities, of the selection methods announced for this year by public televisions from countries such as Spain, Greece, Russia, Cyprus, Bulgaria, UK or France and, last but not least, after evaluating Romania's results in 2018 and 2019. Statistics show that, in the last 15 years, every other ESC edition had at least one performance selected in this manner in the top 3.

The new approach consists in first selecting the "voice" by appointing a specialized commission who will analyze and identify the most representative artist based on the following criteria: vocal abilities, artistic performance, musical empathy, expressiveness. After selecting the artist, during a songwriting camp, some of the best Romanian composers and artists will write songs based on his/her specific voice type, vocal range and personality. Out of the songs written during the camp, the best 5 will be selected by designated specialists from various related professional areas (composers, lyricists, musicologists, tv/radio music-show producers, music directors) to compete in the National Final taking place on March 1st. The designated specialists will take into consideration criteria such as the sound, the originality, the diversity of style and the message of the songs.

On March 1st, the National Final will bring forward the public as main decision maker in selecting the song and the show that will best represent Romania in Rotterdam. The National Final will consist of a complex show where the National Jury and the public, with an equal 50% share in the final voting, will pick their favorite among the artistic moments designated to represent Romania in ESC2020. In case of a tie vote, the public vote is decisive.

UMK songs are out - listen to Finland's national selection finalists for ESC. Finland has now released all of the six songs of Finland's national selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The artists competing for the title of Finland's Eurovision contestant are Tika (I Let My Heart Break) Erika Vikman (Cicciolina), Aksel Kankaanranta (Looking Back), F3M (Bananas), Sansa (Lover View) and Catharina Zühlke (Eternity). The winner will be selected at the Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (Contest for New Music) on March 7th. All of the songs are now on video-on-demand service Yle Areena and several music streaming services (e.g. Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube).

With just one week until show time, SBS and production partner Blink TV today announced the final four songs for Eurovision – Australia Decides, setting the stage for a show like no other. Artists and fans will soon be arriving on the Gold Coast, with the Live TV Final broadcast live and exclusive on SBS on Saturday 8 February. The national final will showcase some of Australia's biggest acts, singing original songs, for the chance to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The final four songs to be revealed are Vanessa Amorosi's power ballad Lessons of Love, Montaigne's Don't Break Me about the breakdown of a toxic relationship, both personal and political, Didirri's mesmerising and reflective ballad Raw Stuff and Jaguar Jonze's Rabbit Hole about battles with mental health.

Vanessa Amorosi said: "So happy to announce Lessons of Love is the song I'm taking to Eurovision – Australia Decides 2020! I couldn't be more proud and excited to perform this LIVE for the first time in February. Rehearsals have begun and I'm beyond thrilled with the concept of my performance. I CAN'T WAIT for you all to see it."

Montaigne said: "Don't Break Me is a depiction of the enough is enough phase of a relationship breakdown, where one person feels like they are putting much more time, energy and resources into the relationship than the other person and becomes frustrated and resentful. I wrote it while reading Codependent No More by Melody Beattie, which really informed the qualities of the character and the relationship dynamic."

Didirri said: "Raw Stuff is a personal song that I almost gave up on. It is a moment for reflection. It's for anyone else who is trying to process what's happening in their life. It's a song about a time when two people are so close but unable to open up to each other. Songwriting really helps me express things that I may otherwise be without words to explain. Performing Raw Stuff cuts close to the bone for me."

Jaguar Jonze said: "Rabbit Hole is about exploring the intricacies of our vulnerabilities, and how it unknowingly manifests into different coping mechanisms as we go through life's inevitable obstacles. It's about the complicated relationship I have with trauma and the way I react in the face of it. I wrote it at a time when I was really learning about my Complex PTSD, which I've had for 20 years. I hope it connects with Australia or whoever needs it. I want it to say that trauma doesn't have to define you, and that we can return the strength to live the life we deserve."

The final ten acts vying for their shot to represent Australia on the world's biggest stage are: powerhouse entertainer Casey Donovan with Proud, rising First Nations artist Mitch Tambo with Together, glam rock star iOTA with Life, The Voice winner Diana Rouvas with Can We Make Heaven, 19-year-old singer-songwriter Jordan-Ravi with Pushing Stars, Australia's Got Talent winner Jack Vidgen with I Am King I Am Queen, Aussie icon Vanessa Amorosi with Lessons of Love, art pop auteur Montaigne with Don't Break Me, alternative artist Didirri with Raw Stuff and multi-media artist Jaguar Jonze with Rabbit Hole.

Hosted by SBS Eurovisionaries comedian Joel Creasey and music buff Myf Warhurst, Eurovision – Australia Decides will also showcase local and international Eurovision royalty with four special guest acts confirmed to perform: winner of the inaugural Eurovision – Australia Decides Kate Miller-Heidke will return to the stage where it all began, Swedish pop phenomenon and winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 Måns Zelmerlöw, powerhouse vocalist and Eurovision 2016 runner up Dami Im and Australia's 2019 Junior Eurovision representative Jordan Anthony.

During the Opening Night Show on Friday 7 February, a Jury of artists and industry experts will vote for their favourite performance. The Australian public are eligible to vote for their favourite performances via SMS from Friday 7 February at 8.30pm AEDT until Saturday 8 February at approximately 10:15pm AEDT. The public vote makes up half of the overall vote. The artist and song that receives the most points overall will go on to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in May.

SBS Commissioning Editor for Entertainment and Australian Head of Delegation Josh Martin said: "After listening to over 600 songs, we have our final ten! And what a diverse and incredibly eclectic group of songs they are. Entry of Blas Cantó "Universo" has been presented by RTVE. The song was written by Blas together with Dan Hammond, Dangelo Ortega, Maciej Mikolaj Trybulec and Ash Hicklin. Ash Hicklin has worked with such Eurovision acts as Tom Dice (Belgium 2010) and Waylon (Netherlands 2014,2018). Trybulec has collaborated with Lake Malawi for 2019.

"I wrote this song at a time in my life in which, probably, in an act of cowardice, I didn't raise my voice. I didn't say what I felt thinking that it would be so much easier. And I was wrong. I closed my eyes and, with all my strength, I apologized to the Universe." The artist defines the song as honest and very personal one with which the singer metaphorically represents a reconciliation with his "inner self" to learn to love himself more and grow personally. Framed in the synthpop genre, "Universo" is a new style for the Spanish candidate but retains his essence with a great emotional charge. "Universo" is designed to showcase the performer's abilities emphasizing his vocal quality, his treble and his falsetto.

"It's a very complete song: mysterious at the beginning, with a chorus full of energy and final explosion. It's great, like the univers and when I sing I feel free," acknowledges the Murcian, who opted for this song between 50 other options. The choir is another of the highlights of the song that singer wants to empower on stage. According to him, he already has some ideas for the staging and already contemplates some names for the artistic direction of "Universo". "I think the scenery has to capture the immensity of the theme on stage. I would like to surprise and not fall into the obvious, with a staging that expresses the lyrics and the emotions," he explains. For him, feelings must take precedence over scenic artifice, but he does not rule out using new technologies on the stage. Blas also does not want to give details about his look, but says he will not leave anyone indifferent.

The music video of "Universo" faithfully represents the concept of the song and makes its message understandable through the images. "Universo" is dynamic, choreographic, attractive and modern video, filmed between Lanzarote and Tenerife and directed by Cristian Velasco. A conceptual production that begins in a dark and cold environment, where the fog envelops the singer. Gradually, Blas comes through an inhospitable and bleak landscape, aimlessly but overcoming his fears. This landscape transports us to the Moon and we can see the performer freeing himself from his past to find the light and be happy. The artist makes a retrospective review with which he apologizes to his destiny and thus find the determination he forgot in the past. "Working with Blas is super easy, not only because it is very photogenic but also because of its attitude towards the camera. It also gets 100% involved and makes work easy for all colleagues," says the director.

AMPTV received 53 valid applications that were reviewed by the professional jury (the applications sent after the deadline were not consid-ered). 12 best acts were picked to compete during the national final, where the winner will get a chance to sing for Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. When reviewing the applications, the jury considered the validness of the application, the conformity of the song to the rules and the format of the contest, as well as the diversity of genres. The members of the jury included Naira Gurjinyan, Anita Hakhverdyan, Lilia Nikoyan, Ruben Babayan, Vardan Hakobyan, Tigran Danielyan, David Tserunyan, Karen Tataryan and Anush Ter-Ghukasyan.

With just over 3 months to go until the Eurovision Song Contest begins, the line-up for this year's Semi-Finals have been decided by a draw, broadcast live online, as a part of the traditional Host City Insignia Ceremony.

At the ceremony, Zippi Brand Frank, Deputy Mayor of Tel Aviv, representing last year's host city, passed on the Eurovision Insignia to the Mayor of Rotterdam Ahmed Aboutaleb, marking the official handing over to the new Eurovision Song Contest host city. The event, at Rotterdam City Hall, was organized by Dutch broadcasters NOS, NPO, AVROTROS and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and presented by 2020 hosts Jan Smit, Edsilia Rombley and Chantal Janzen.

An allocation draw was then held to determine in which Semi-Final each participating broadcaster will perform in the hope of qualifying for the Grand Final. 35 of the 41 participating broadcasters were allocated to perform in either Semi-Final 1 or Semi-Final 2 (17 in Semi-Final 1, 18 in Semi-Final 2). They had been divided into 5 pots, based on historical voting patterns as calculated by the Contest's official voting partner digame. 10 countries from each Semi-Final will progress to join 6 pre-qualified countries in the Grand Final on Saturday 16 May.

France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom (the ‘Big Five') and host country, the Netherlands, automatically qualify for the Grand Final, however they are each required to broadcast and vote in one of the Semi-Finals. A draw was also held to decide the 3 countries who will vote in Semi-Final 1 (Germany, Italy, Netherlands) and the 3 who will vote in the second Semi-Final (France, Spain, United Kingdom).

The ceremony was overseen by Eurovision Song Contest Executive Supervisor Jon Ola Sand and digame's Managing Director Thomas Niedermeyer. Jon Ola Sand said of the event: "The Allocation Draw marks an important day in the Eurovision calendar and we are excited to be here in Rotterdam counting down the days to May when we will welcome all participating artists to #OpenUp at the 65th Eurovision Song Contest."

At the head quarters of Belteleradiocompany was held a draw of the running order for the national Belarus selection for the Eurovision 2020 and a working meeting of the creative team of the project with the contestants.

NRK has presented four new competitors for the Western Norway's semi-final which will broadcast this Saturday. The songs competing in the semi-final will be available for streaming at midnight. On Tuesday 28 January at 16:10 CET, the Semi-Final Allocation Draw will take place to decide which country will perform in which of the 2 Semi-Finals. During the ceremony, the Host City Insignia will be handed over from the city of Tel Aviv to the Mayor of Rotterdam. The event will take place at Rotterdam's City Hall. 2020 Eurovision Song Contest presenters Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombley and Jan Smit will take care of hosting duties through the prestigious event.

The first part of the draw will determine which Semi-Final each of the 6 pre-qualified countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and host country the Netherlands) will broadcast and be able to vote in. The second part of the draw will determine in which Semi-Final and in which half of the respective Semi-Final the other 35 participating countries will perform. As in recent years, the exact running order will be determined by the producers of the show.

The 35 Semi-Finalists have been allocated into 5 pots (there were 6 pots last year), based on historical voting patterns as calculated by the contest's official televoting partner Digame. Drawing from different pots helps to reduce the chance of so-called neighbourly voting and increases suspense in the Semi-Finals.

Throughout the week, the users at dr.dk have had the chance to participate in selecting three entries to qualify to the finals of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2020. The semi-finals consisted of nine songs, and the three that have advanced to the finals are:

28-year-old Kenny Duerlund says: "I am very much looking forward to the finals. The Grand Prix has been one thing that I have been thinking for some years: "It could be fun, I would like it". So I'm looking forward to it!". The duo Ben & Tan, which consists of 22-year-old Tanne Amanda Balcells and 17-year-old Benjamin Rosenbohm, met when they both participated in last year's edition of X Factor. "Oh my lord! I'm about to have a heart attack. Call for an ambulance", screamed Tanne Amanda Balcells when she was told the news. "I've been sobbing all day, I haven't slept all night, I've had a really bad stomach, I've been so nervous. Now I just have to go home and sleep". 23-year-old Sander Sanchez says: "It's crazy to know that I'm on to the final. It's mega cool to have worked so hard on something and given myself so much and that people then liked the outcome. I am ready to give the max gas and show all Denmark what I dare".

A special district jury, selected by DR, is yet to distribute two wildcards among the remaining six songs - thus a total of five songs will qualify from this year's semi-final. They join the five - still secret - songs that have been awarded a slot in advance for the finals. Which songs get the jury wildcards, and who hide among the five pre-finalists, will be unveiled on 31 January.

The live auditions for the Moldovan National Preselection will take place on February 1 at 14:00 CET, in the National Television studio 2, with live broadcast on TV Moldova 2. 36 entries will be heard by the jury. A jury of professionals in the field will evaluate the vocal performance of the competitors. At this moment, the stage outfis or the show elements are not mandatory, the criteria of appreciation being: the melodic line, the originality of the song, the vocal performance, but also the actual interpretation. Each participant will be given time for the necessary sound adjustments. The interpreters will be assigned grades from 0 to 12.

The organizing committee of the preselection was notified about the violation of the article of the regulation regarding the prohibition of the public presentation of the competition entry until September 1, 2019. Evidence of interpretation of the song "Adio" by the Che-MD band on the date of May 18, 2019 was presented. The video with the performance was published on the official Youtube channel of the band on May 26, 2019. Due to the non-observance of the regulations, the Organizing Committee voted to suspend the band from the participation. The request of Pelageya Stefoglo to take into consideration the electronic application made on January 14, which, for technical reasons, had been delivered to eurovision@trm.md only partially was satisfied. Thus, the number of performers who are expected to attend the live auditions is 35. They will present 36 tracks in the reverse order of the registration in the competition.

According to the Regulation, after the stage of live hearings, the Organizing Committee in consultation with the judging team will decide whether another selection stage will be organized - the National Finals, or the Eurovision participant will be chosen already during the casting.

This morning, on the LTV broadcast "Rīta Panorāma", was determined the order of performances of the finalists of the Latvian Television Contest Supernova 2020. The draw was run by Ilze Jansone, producer of Supernova 2020 competition and co-host of the TV show Ketija Šēnberga. On the evening of February 8, new singer Seleste will be the first to go on stage, second in the draw was DRIKSNA, followed by Katrīna Bindere, Edgaras Kreilis, Katrīna Dimanta, Miks Dukurs, ANNNA, Bad Habits, while Samanta Tina will close the competition.

National final show will be hosted by Supernova veterans Ketija Šēnberga and Toms Grēviņš, joined in the Greenroom by vlogger Beta Beidz. "I've met all the participants - they are really super positive and active people and my new best friends. I'm excited and can't wait for the show!", admits Beta Beidz.

This will be the only live broadcast in which viewers will also be able to actively vote for their favorite. Winner of Supernova 2020 will get a chance to represent Latvia at the International Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

RTVE.es will release on January 30 the song and video clip of 'Universo', the song of Blas Cantó for the Eurovision 2020. The Spanish entry can be viewed exclusively on the official website from 10 am CET. On January 31, 'Universo' will become available on the artist's YouTube Channel and other digital platforms.

"Universo" is a song tailored for Blas Cantó, where the artist demonstrates many emotions and tells his own story. It is a very personal song that has the ability to bring mood swings ofor those who listens to it - "Universo reflects a world similar to mine, with which the public can discover my evolution by listening to it. I think it is a roller coaster of emotions. Universo has a new and risky style for me but keep my essence". The singer has recognized that he is very happy with the final result, in which he has been able to work with total artistic freedom.

Live auditions of the candidates for the national Belarus preselection will take place at the Belteleradiocompany on January 27 at 10:00 CET. The list of contestants includes 49 names. Auditions will take place in the largest studio of the Belteleradiocompany "600 meters". In accordance with the regulations of the preselection, the songs should be performed live accompanied by music and (or) phonogram recorded without any kind of vocals or any vocal imitations.

Based on the results of the auditions, an expert focus group will determine up to 12 participants of the final. The number of finalists can be changed by the organizer independently or at the suggestion of focus group members. The site www.tvr.by will traditionally carry out an online broadcast of auditions.

Recall that for the participation in the national selection for the Eurovision 2020, BTRC has received 95 applications, about 30 of which came from the foreign performers who, according to the regulations, this year can not compete for the right to represent Belarus at the international competition. The Belteleradiocompany invited 49 contestants to the live auditions.

Martin Österdahl, a senior TV executive with two decades of experience, has been appointed Executive Supervisor for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) and Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC). The decision was made by the EBU Director of Media Jean Philip De Tender together with the Chair of the ESC Reference Group, the Contest's governing board, ZDF's Dr Frank Dieter Freiling.

Martin Österdahl was Executive Producer for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 and 2016 when the event was hosted by Swedish EBU Member SVT in Malmö and Stockholm and was a member of the ESC Reference Group between 2012 and 2018. Österdahl will begin working on the Eurovision Song Contest at the end of April and take over the Executive Supervisor role immediately after this year's Grand Final on 16 May. He will also oversee the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, now in its 18th year, which is expected to take place in November. He will take over from Jon Ola Sand, who is stepping down after 10 years in the role, following the 65th Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. nd will return to his native Norway to begin a new role at the head office of NRK.

Martin Österdahl has studied Russian, East European studies and Economics. Martin was previously Programme Director and Commissioner of Entertainment & Sport at SVT where he was responsible for many of their highest rating primetime shows as well as supervising live productions such as The Nobel Prize Ceremony and 2010 Royal Wedding. He has extensive international experience in the music and media industries having also worked in the UK, Russia, the USA, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway. Martin Österdahl is married and has three children.

His interest for Russia and its culture arose in the early 1980s. After studying Russian at university and having had the opportunity to go behind the iron curtain more than once, he decided to relocate and finish his master thesis there. The 1990s were a very exciting time in Russia, and 1996 with its presidential election was a particularly crucial year. Everything was drawn to its peak and Martin had the privilege of seeing history in the making. These memories inspired him to write his first novel, Be inte om nåd (Ask No Mercy). Tio Svenskar måste dö (Ten Swedes Must Die) is his second novel featuring the charismatic Swedish agent Max Anger as he battles forces from the East. The third book, Järnänglar (Iron Angels), is currently being written. Martin's novels have been translated into 10 languages. His non-fiction work includes management literature on project leadership.

STB and UA:PBC have announced the names of the semi-finalists and the third member of the jury of the National Ukrainian preselection for the Eurovision 2020. From February 8, on STB and UA:The First television channels, 16 contestants will compete for the right to represent Ukraine at the international song contest in the Netherlands. All the entries were chosen by the music producer of the contest Ruslan Kvinta and member of the UA:PBC board Yaroslav Lodygin. The third judge of the National Eurovision Song Contest 2020 will be the general producer of radio holding No. 1 in Ukraine TAVR Media, the general director of Hit FM radio Vitaliy Drozdov.

The new judge of the National Selection - 2020 Vitaliy Drozdov has long been recognized as one of the best experts in the Ukrainian music industry. He has been head of the Hit FM radio station for many years, member of the jury of major music awards in Ukraine and takes part in important events for Ukrainian music. "I am priviledged to be entrusted being member of the jury of the National selection for the Eurovision 2020. I hope that my almost 30 years of experience on radio will be useful in selecting the song which will be able to hook the massive European audience. Ukraine is one of the strongest music countries in Europe today. And for me, the ideal representative of Ukraine at Eurovision is an artist with a vivid image, with a pronounced melody, modern presentation and arrangement. I'll search for a song - "rocket" that will be remembered by the audience literally from the first listen. Chaired by Tapio Hakanen, Head of Music at YleX radio, the UMK jury of music professionals went through more than 400 entries to select the finalists for this year's contest. "All entries are top class and show a wide variety of styles and performers. I hope that as many Finns as possible can find an artist and a song that would make a perfect Finnish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. It's also great to see a large group of top Finnish producers and songwriters behind the pieces," explains Tapio Hakanen, Head of Music at YleX and the chair of the UMK jury of professionals.

The Finnish entry to this year's Eurovision Song Contest will be selected on Saturday, 7 March 2020 in a live UMK broadcast. The final will take place at Mediapolis in Tampere and the event will be shown live on Yle TV1 and in the free Yle Areena streaming service, starting at 9 pm. Eurovision fans living outside Finland can also follow the event in Yle Areena and on the Eurovision.tv website. The event will be hosted by Krista Siegfrids and commentated on by Mikko Silvennoinen. The YleX radio's morning show's hosts Viki and Köpi will be hosting the Green Room and the Swedish commentaries will be by Johan Lindroos and Eva Frantz. People living in Finland can vote for their favourite during the live broadcast. The songs and the performances will also be scored by an international jury. The votes by the public and the scores given by the international jury will determine the winner. Because of limited capacity, no tickets will be sold for the UMK final. Icelandic broadcaster RÚV has presented the 10 artists and their songs that have been selected to take part in the national selection Söngvakeppnin 2020. 5 songs will compete in the first semi-final in Reykjavík on Saturday 8 February, and 5 more in the second semi-final a week later on 15 February. From each semi-final, the 2 songs that secure the most votes from the public will secure a place in the grand final on 29 February. From the grand final's top 4, the winner will become Iceland's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. If the organisers of Söngvakeppnin wish to do so, they have the option to use a wildcard and add a 5th song to the grand final.

The international public will be able to watch both semi-finals and the grand final, as they will also be broadcast online on RÚV 1.

All songs in the semi-finals will be sung in Icelandic due to the competition's rules, these state that songs in the semi-finals must be performed in Icelandic. However, in the grand final the acts can decide whether to perform in Icelandic or a different language. In this year's competition, 4 of the 10 acts have decided to keep their songs in Icelandic if they manage to qualify: Kid Isak, DIMMA, Hildur Vala and Matti Mat. The other 6 plan to perform their song in English in the grand final: Brynja Mary, Elísabet, Ísold and Helga, Daði and Gagnamagnið, Iva and Nína.

From prerecorded backing vocals to the live orchestra: DR changes format of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix.

For the first time in 21 years, DR has chosen to reintroduce the live orchestra. This year, the music of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will be played live, and it is the popular The Antonelli Orchestra that gets the honor of playing up to the Grand Prix party. The Antonelli Orchestra is known from various TV 2 programs such as Vild med dans (Stricly. Come Dancing and Toppen af poppen. Actors Hella Joof and Rasmus Bjerg will host Danish MGP final. 57-year-old Hella Joof is known as a writer, actor and film director, among others. In a major move on the brink of the 2020 Melodifestivalen, SVT establishes a Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame. The 60th winner of the contest will be named in the upcoming season.

To celebrate the contest, the Second Chance show on the 29th of February is set to walk down memory lane, where all the 48 chosen for the Hall of Fame will be seen, in one way or another. Subsequently, viewers will elect 6 new Hall of Fame members each year out of 18 nominees chosen by a committee. The philosophy behind the Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame is to celebrate the collective memories created by the contest over the years. Because of this, any achievement that has remained in the memory of the Swedish people can be elected, for example a chorographical element, even though the people involved will be the ones receiving the award.

"This is a prize to pay tribute to those who made the Melodifestivalen what it is today. It's not just the winners who tell the festival's fantastic story. There is so much else we want to honor", says Christer Björkman senior producer Melodifestivalen 2020. "The long and colorful history of the Melodifestivalen has created memories that live and spread between generations, a collective memory. You can become a winner in many different ways. It could be a choreography, a lyrics line, or something else that has somehow stayed with us through years", says Christer Björkman.

Everyone selected to the Hall of Fame gets a figurine called the Gold Star. The statue was created by Dallas Sthlm AB, which also stands behind the Melodifestivalen logo since 2002. It is shaped as part of a star's ray and the idea behind it is that the combined efforts form a whole together. The first 48 efforts have been selected in the Hall of Fame by the management team for Melodifestivalen 2020: Christer Björkman, Karin Gunnarsson, Anette Helenius and Christel Tholse Willers. The foundation they chose from is a large survey that was made in the Melodifestivalen app for the 2020 season and all 48 award winners were among those mentioned there. Ahead of the Melodifestivalen 2021, a committee will be appointed with the task of producing 18 new nominations each year. Based on these, the viewers choose which six will be included in the Melodifestivalen's Hall of Fame.

Criteria for nomination :
- It is considered to be a special effort to have brought feelings, been innovative, have originality, but above all a broad and lasting impact.
- No rules without exception. It is up to the nomination committee to nominate an effort that has been unforgettable in other ways as well.

- The Swedish entry (lyrics, music and artist) which wins the Eurovision Song Contest will receive automatically a place in Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame and will thus be awarded a gold star.

Latvian Television has announced finalists of Supernova 2020 contest for Latvian songwriters and performers. On February 8, Samanta Tīna, Edgars Kreilis, Katrīna Dimanta, Miks Dukurs, ANNNA, Bad Habits, DRIKSNA, Katrīna Bindere and Seleste will compete in the only live show for the right to represent Latvia at the 65th Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The finalists of the competition were selected by an international jury of 26 participants, who included music, music management and media professionals, communications professionals, as well as organizers of the contest from Latvian Television. In evaluating the applicants, the jury took into account a number of factors - the originality and structure of the song, music, lyrics, vocal skills and abilities of the performer, and the potential to compete in the international market and on the Eurovision big stage. It also took into account data analysis of views and likes on the YouTube platform, which reflects the evaluation of the 26 potential songs by the public. In addition to the eight finalists, the jury gave the new performer Seleste the chance to take part in the Supernova final this year. "It is important for the competition that there are young, capable and courageous artists who dream of the big stage and have no prejudice against this competition. Seleste showed herself very well in the selection, this is her first song written, and we hope this will give her and other young artists the impetus they need to achieve their goals, "said Ilze Jansone, Supernova 2020 producer. Macedonian Radio Television, North Macedonia's public broadcaster, has chosen Vasil to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam. Vasil was part of Tamara Todevska's Eurovision team as a backing vocalist at last year's Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv.

About performing at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, Vasil says it is a dream come true. "I am beyond honoured to present my country at the Song Contest in Rotterdam and I can hardly wait to put all my experience and knowledge into creating a magical journey that will touch people's heart across Europe."

Vasil Garvanliev started his musical journey at age 7, performing at some of North Macedonia's most popular children's festivals. Soon thereafter, he moved with his family to the United States, where he continued his career as a soloist at the Chicago Children's Choir. From child pop star to over 50 operatic roles and recitals at music festivals across the world and collaborations with some of the world's most prolific artists, Vasil's motto in life is simple: wherever words fail, sing. Since his return to North Macedonia in 2018, Vasil has released 3 highly successful singles: Gjerdan (Necklace), "Patuvam (Travelling) and Mojata Ulica (My Street). His first solo concert in his native Strumica in November 2019 was sold out and showcased his vast musical experience from across the world.

30-year-old singer, actor and comedian Tom Leeb has been selected internally by public broadcaster France Télévisions. Europe will need to wait a bit longer to find out which song he will be singing; the track will be revealed in the coming weeks according to the French broadcaster. Regarding his selection, Tom said: "The Eurovision Song Contest is an iconic and unifying event; I am so proud to be representing France and I can't wait to live this experience with you all."

In September 2019, Tom released his debut album Recollection. The audio clip of Are We Too Late has reached an impressive 25 million YouTube views. Tom has played as a support act for international stars such as Sting and Tom Jones. His music inspirations are male singer-songwriters like Ben Howard, Matt Corby, Bon Iver and John Mayer.

Tom spent 5 years in New York studying theatre, cinema and singing. He previously performed in a theatrical adaptation of the movie Mrs. Doubtfire and acted in various French TV shows and movies alongside established stars such as Jean Reno. He is part of a comedy duo with fellow comedian Kevin Levy. As the illustrious Kevin & Tom, the pair have a popular YouTube channel, where they upload skits and songs.

In July 2019, France Télévisions started crafting their strategy for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The public broadcaster decided to return to an internal selection and to concentrate all its efforts on finding the right song for the Grand Final in Rotterdam on 16 May. For the first time, on top of French publishers, France 2 approached European music publishers and asked them to write specifically for the Eurovision Song Contest. The internal committee at the French broadcaster reviewed more than 100 songs in the search of the perfect tune for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Alexandra Redde-Amiel, Head of France Télévision's Entertainment Department and the new Head of Delegation said: "We think that the ideal proposal corresponds to a match between a song for which we had a huge crush and an artist to embody it".

After much anticipation, X Factor Malta has resumed with the first of five Live Shows with the theme "Born This Way". The evening began with twelve participants, and finished with ten contestants who managed to pass muster and jury scrutiny and get through to the second Live Show. Televoting closed at around 10.45pm with the least televoting votes garnered by Alexandra Alden's group Overs. Ed Abdilla came in last place putting an end to his X Factor Malta adventure. After Ed, Celine and Paul Anthony, were the two singers with the least amount of votes who competed against each other. At this stage, the four judges eliminated Paul Anthony.

X Factor Malta will return next Sunday with another live transmission after the 8.00pm news bulletin on Television Malta. The theme for next week is "Guilty Pleasures"

KAN 11, the Israeli national broadcater, will organize on 3 March a special show "Hashiyr HaBa L'Eurovizion" (The Next Song for the Eurovision) to select a song for the Eurovision 2020, last time a song was publicly selected in 2016. Winning song will be chosen by televiewers (30%), professional jury (65%) and show panel of 3 persons (5%). Lucy Ayoub will co-host the show.

Winner of "HaKokhav Haba L'Eurovizion" will perform four songs, from which the contest entry will be chosen. The song selection regulations were released on 12 January with deadline for songwriters being Israeli citizen and registered in ACUM set on 11 February to submit previously unpublished entries to eurosong@kan.org.il. Selection committee will have six members, including KAN and Keshet representatives. Shortlisted songs will be first presented to public on 27 February.

Jeangu Macrooy will be representing The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam. The Dutch selection committee confirmed this news today. According to the managing director of Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS and member of the selection committee Eric van Stade, Jeangu has been on the radar for quite some time. "The song he delivered touched us right away. We are very happy that Jeangu wants to go on this journey with us!".

Jeangu is delighted with the news: "I am indescribably honored! It's a dream come true and the most beautiful thing that has come my way so far. My team and I are excited to make The Netherlands proud! Let's go!".

The running order for the four Melodifestivalen semi-finals has been revealed today by the contest producer Karin Gunnarsson in a special live broadcast. The Mamas will start the competition and Hanna Ferm will perform last.

"Hanna Ferm made a big impression with LIAMOO last year, and I felt there was a certain expectation from the audience", says Karin Gunnarsson. Felix Sandman gets the prestigious place to finish the first semifinal, a place where we found Benjamin Ingrosso and Loreen in the 2010s. "We had Metallica as the code name for Felix Sandman because we absolutely did not want it to leak. We have had several code names", says Karin.

The classical blackboard with post-it notes was used again by Karin Gunnarsson and senior producer Christer Björkman to piece together the starting field and the starting order during the fall and winter. The variation in the colors represents whether the performer is male or female, which is one of the basic building blocks of the starting order. In some cases, the colors vary depending on the song's tempo - or simply on the availability of post-it notes in a particular color.

Starting today, on January 9, on the Youtube account of Supernova, the Latvian Television Contest for Authors and Performers, have been released entries that were performed in auditions in front of a selection jury in December.

As previously reported, this year's Supernova will have only one live broadcast on February 8, when we will find out which of the contestants will go to the 65th International Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

"Only television viewers will be able to actively participate in the live voting during the final. Eight final songs will be chosen by the jury, also considering how well the songs will be rated by the audience on the YouTube platform, "says Ilze Jansone, producer of Supernova 2020. Eight final songs will be announced in a week - on January 16.

A record number of 126 songs were submitted to Supernova this year.

Radio-Television of Serbia has announced 24 entries that have been selected to participate in the Beovizija 2020 Festival at the end of February, the winner of which will represent Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The submission period for the contest has ended on December 9, and on December 23, all parcels that arrived at the address of Radio Television of Serbia were opened. 90 participants applied for the competition, and a selection committee consisting of RTS music editors listened to all the tracks.

The selected entries will compete at the Beovizija 2020 Festival, which will be held in late February 2020, through two semi-finals and a grand finale. NRK has revealed the first 9 of 25 artists competing in this year's Melodi Grand Prix. The songs competing on Saturday (semi-final for Southern Norway) performed by Kim Rysstad, Geirmund, Lisa Børud and Raylee are already available for streaming. The next four artists participating (in the semi-final from Eastern Norway) will be revealed on Monday, January 13.

This year, 25 songs and artists are vying for the Eurovision Gold Ticket. Never before so many songs have participated in a Norwegian MGP edition. A jury has already picked out five songs for the finale on February 15. The rest will participate in five semi-finals. Each region receives its own semi-final, with artists representing Northern Norway, Central Norway, Western Norway, Eastern Norway and Southern Norway. Only one artist progresses from each semifinal.

The final will take place in Trondheim Spectrum, February 15. Direct finalists are: Sondrey, Didrik & Emil, Ulrikke Brandstorp, Akuvi, Tone Damli. Every Friday a new song for the final is published.

36 participants of the national Lithuanian preselection, this year labelled under the motto "Pabandom iš naujo!, have been revealed. Who will represent Lithuania in Eurovision on May 12-16 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, will become known on February 15 during the national selection final. "This year's national selection will see new faces as well as a few of the recognized contestants. It is gratifying that the interest in Eurovision in Lithuania is not diminishing - the competition has a loyal crowd of fans and the national selection attracts many people who want to try their hand every year. We are going to hear a lot of interesting, talented performers in the national selection, so now we have a responsibility to choose the only song that will get to the big Eurovision stage, "says LRT Chief Producer Audrius Giržadas.

The first broadcast of the national Eurovision screening on LRT will be broadcast on January 11. There will be a total of six shows - three qualifiers, two semifinals and a national qualifying final. First three shows will feature 12 performers, and in each show we will say goodbye to the six of them with the lowest ratings. After each semi-final, five performers will be bidden farewell. So, on the final, sixth show, there will be eight acts on stage. The winner will be chosen jointly by television viewers and a panel of five members which will rotate each show. How the jury members have voted, will only be announced at the end of the show to prevent jury ratings from affecting viewers' votes. In addition, commentary of the jury will change this year - instead of commenting on each entry sequentially, panelists will only do so in a few spots during the broadcast of the show.

National selection organizers note that, in order to encourage telephone voting, viewers' voting results will also be announced only at the end of the broadcast. Audience voting at all national screenings will be monitored by independent observers - audit firm Grant Thornton Baltic. The organizers remind that up to five votes can be cast per mobile phone number (calls or text messages. The cost per call or message is € 0.60). The portion of the proceeds that LRT will receive for viewer calls and short messages will go to the support fund of the chosen act.

This year, the national selection process is overseen by a dedicated working group of nine specialists - Gytis Oganauskas, Deputy Director General of LRT, LRT pop music editor Ramūnas Zilnys, LRT TV chief producer Audrius Giržadas, LRT Radio Department Program Manager Giedrius Masalskis, LRT OPUS Manager Darius Užkuraitis, LRT Communications Manager Rūta Putnikienė, LRT Public Relations and Marketing Project Manager Justina Sokolovskė, TV Director Povilas Varvuolis, Andrius Mamontovas - composer and performer, Eurovision 2006 participant. The songs chosen for the competition were selected by consensus by the working group. This year more than 60 entries have been received by the broadcaster, more than half of which we will see during the live shows.

Representative of Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 will be chosen via "Szansa na sukces" (A Chance for Success) TV program. Potential Eurovision entries must be submitted until 13 January 2020. Participants must be Polish citizen or residents. 18-21 acts will qualify to the three semifinals of the show which will take place on 2-9-16 February. During the semifinals, selected acts will perform cover versions of hits of the well-known Polish artist, chosen by organizers of the project.

Three winners of the semifinals will compete in the show final on 23 February. Organizers reserve the right to select one so-called "Golden Ticket" wildcard to join the list of finalists, possibly even from the acts who did not take part in the semifinals. In the final, acts will sing two songs - cover of the hit of the show's featured artist, and their Eurovision entry. The winner of the show will be chosen by combine jury vote and televoting.

Belteleradiocompany has launched submission period for the participation in the national selection round of the Eurovision 2020 song contest. Applications can be submitted until January 17, 2020. Citizens and residents of the Republic of Belarus are allowed to participate as the performers. After that, the first jury will evaluate entries and form a list of participants of the live auditions. The list of contestants admitted to the auditions will be published on the organizer's website no later than January 22. The auditions are scheduled for January 27 - following its results, the second jury will determine up to twelve participants of the final of the project (the number of finalists can be changed by the decision of the organizer independently or at the suggestion of the jury). During the audition, the online broadcast will be carried out on the website of the Belteleradiocompany www.tvr.by.

The final will be held no later than March 6, 2020 in the format of a live television show broadcast on the Belarus 1 and Belarus 24 channels. The winner will be determined by the results of voting by a professional jury and TV viewers. If two or more participants in the finals gain an equal number of points, the winner is determined by an additional open jury vote.

Winner of the first season of The X Factor Georgia 2014, participant of the 2017 national selection won the vote in all shows of the preselection, except for the very first episode.

Moldovan national broadcaster TRM has launched the process of the national preselection for the Eurovision 2020. At the moment, it is schedule to consist of only two stages: submissions of applications (until January 17) and live hearing of all candidates with television and online broadcast, following which a professional jury will appoint a representative of the country at the contest in Rotterdam.

At the same time, the rules allow the organizers to change the format of the selection on the way: either by scrapping the auditions and choosing the representative by the internal decision or to make return to the regular National Final format.

Today Ukrainian broadcasters STB and UA:PBC have revealed that the second member of the jury for the national preselection will be Tina Karol. She will join Andriy Danylko (Verka Serduchka) and yet to be announced third member, replacing Jamala and Evhen Filatov.

In 2006, Tina Karol represented Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Athens, where she took 7th place. For more than 15 years, Tina Karol has been engaged in active musical activity: the singer is a coach of the vocal show "Voice of the Country", has released 11 albums, 35 videos and 3 music films; on her account are 11 concert solo tours. Tina Karol was repeatedly awarded state and church awards (for her significant contribution to the development of culture and art of Ukraine and for her charitable activities), and also received about 20 music and television awards, among which, M1 MUSIC AWARDS, YUNA, Teletriumph.

Preliminary selection of songs for the participation in the Croatian national selection DORA is completed. The jury determined the names of 16 finalists and 4 reserve songs. The final show will be held on February 29 in the Marino Cvetković Hall in Opatija.

Eurovision 2000 participant Goran Karan has withdrawn from the competition following accusations that his song "My legacy is love" violates the competition rules on publication date. His place on the final was taken by Elis Lovrić.

The song 'My Legacy is Love' in the form it was sent on Dora differs significantly from the lyrics and music and arrangement and length from what I played at the concert in Visoko, Bosnia and Herzegovina. But I have decided, to eliminate all possible misinterpretations, to pull the song from Dora. That way I want to close the room for any controversy and side effects, because, as the lyrics of that song say - my legacy is - love."

National Lithuanian Eurovision preselection will be hosted by familiar faces - LRT presenters Gabrielle Martirosian and Giedrius Masalskis, who had hosted the event last year, and singer Ieva Zasimauskaitė who will be chatting with the artists in the Green Room and helping them to introduce themselves to the Lithuanian audiences. First national selection show will be aired on 11 January.

"We invited Ieva to join the team on purpose. The broadcast brings together many new faces every year that the viewer wants to know more about. We believe that the person who has been on the big Eurovision stage and understands the importance of not only music but also communication is the best to talk to them, to reveal them, to help evaluate how well they are able to represent Lithuania in this competition. After all, Ieva won the Eurovision audience's sympathy not only for her song but also for her sincereness, "says LRT chief producer Audrius Giržadas.

The singer, who released the new single "Praėjo" today, visited an online chat room on LRT.lt to talk about crisis in her marriage, as the couple is currently living separately, as well as about a new task at the Eurovision. "I had a great dream to host an event, and my dreams come true", Ieva herself adds.

This year, the jury will not comment on each song - they will share generalized comments during the show. The main attention will be paid to the performances of the musicians themselves.

Artists could submit their works to the national selection of Eurovision until December 8. More than 60 entries were received, of which 36 were selected to participate in televised concerts. Viewers will hear them during 6 national qualifying rounds. The artist, who will represent Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam in 2020, will become known on February 15 during the final of the national selection.

Arilena Ara will represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with "Shaj". It is the first song chosen for the upcoming event in the Netherlands. It was composed by Darko Dimitrov (Macedonia 2006, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2019, Serbia 2018, 2019, produced Albanian 2015 entry).

In an interview after the final, Ara noted that her song at Eurovision will most likely be performed in English (it was originally written in it), but the final decision will be made later jointly by the entire delegation of Albania.

31 января Румынское общественное телевидение (TVR) запустило проект Евровидения 2020 с совершенно новым подходом, подобным тому, который многие годы успешно используется другими европейскими странами при отборе своих национальных представителей для конкурса песни Евровидение. Новый механизм был определен после тщательного анализа специфики румынского музыкального рынка, методов отбора, объявленных на этот год национальными вещателями из таких стран, как Испания, Греция, Россия, Кипр, Болгария, Великобритания или Франция и, что не менее важно, после оценки результатов Румынии в 2018 и 2019 годах. Статистика показывает, что за последние 15 лет каждый второй год Евровидения в топ 3 попадала как минимум одна заявка, выбранная таким образом.

Новый подход состоит в том, чтобы сначала выбрать "голос", назначив специальную комиссию, которая проанализирует и определит наиболее представительного исполнителя на основе следующих критериев: вокальные способности, артистичность, музыкальная эмпатия, выразительность. После выбора исполнителя во время авторского лагеря ряд лучших румынских композиторов и исполнителей будут сочинять песни на основе его / ее конкретного типа голоса, вокального диапазона и индивидуальности. Из песен, написанных во время лагеря, лучшие пять будут выбраны группой специалистов из различных смежных профессиональных областей (композиторы, авторы текстов, музыковеды, продюсеры теле- и радиопрограмм, музыкальные продюсеры) для участия в национальном финале, который назначен на 1 марта. Эта фокус группа примет во внимание такие критерии, как звучание, оригинальность, разнообразие стиля и посыла песен.

1 марта в национальном финале свое мнение выскажут публика и национальное жюри, которым предстоит определить песню и номер, которые бы наилучшим образом представили Румынию в Роттердаме. Победитель будет выбран голосованием по системе 50/50, а в случае равенства голосов голосование зрителей является решающим.

Ведущие Конкурса Песни Евровидение 2020 Шанталь Янзен, Эдсилия Ромбли и Ян Смит станут ведущими церемонии.

Первая часть жеребьевки определит, какой из полуфиналов каждая из 6 стран, прошедших предварительную квалификацию (Франция, Германия, Италия, Испания, Великобритания и принимающая страна Нидерланды) будет транслировать и сможет в нем голосовать. Вторая часть жеребьевки определит, в каком полуфинале и в какой половине соответствующего полуфинала выступят остальные 35 участвующих стран. Как и в последние годы, точный порядок выступлений будет определяться продюсерами шоу.

35 полуфиналистов были распределены по 5 корзинам (в прошлом году их было 6), основываясь на исторических схемах голосования, рассчитанных официальным партнером конкурса по телеголосованию Digame. Жеребьевка с использованием корзин помогает снизить вероятность так называемого соседского голосования и увеличивает непредсказуемость в полуфиналах.

В частности, были представлены доказательства того, что песня "Adio" исполнялась группой Che-MD 18 мая 2019 года. Видеоролик с ее исполнением был опубликован на официальном канале группы на YouTube 26 мая 2019 года. В связи с несоблюдением регламента Оргкомитет проголосовал за отстранение группы от участия в отборочном конкурсе. Прослушивание претендентов на участие в белорусском национальном отборочном туре конкурса песни "Евровидение-2020" начнется в Белтелерадиокомпании 27 января в 12:00. В списке конкурсантов 49 человек. Живое прослушивание пройдет в самой большой студии Белтелерадиокомпании "600 метров". В соответствии с положением о порядке организации и проведения национального отбора, исполнение песни будет осуществляться в режиме живого звука в сопровождении музыки и (или) фонограммы, записанной без вокала любого вида или каких-либо вокальных имитаций.

По итогам прослушивания экспертная фокус-группа определит до 12 участников финала. Число финалистов может быть изменено организатором самостоятельно или по предложению членов фокус-группы. Сайт www.tvr.by по традиции будет вести online-трансляцию прослушивания.

Напомним, всего для участия в национальном отборе на "Евровидение-2020" в адрес медиахолдинга поступило 95 заявок, около 30 из них - от иностранных исполнителей, которые, согласно положению, в этом году не могут продолжить борьбу за право представлять Беларусь на международном конкурсе. Васил Гарванлиев представит Северную Македонию на Евровидении 2020. В прошлом году он выступал на сцене конкурса в качестве бэк-вокалиста Тамары Тодевски.

KAN 11, израильская национальная телекомпания, организует 3 марта специальное шоу "Hashiyr HaBa L'Eurovizion" (Следующая песня для Евровидения), чтобы выбрать конкурсную песню для Евровидения, последний раз она публично выбиралась в 2016 году. Как сообщалось ранее, в этом году Супернова будет состоять только из одного эфира 8 февраля, когда мы узнаем, кто из конкурсантов отправится на 65й конкурс песни Евровидение в Роттердам, Нидерланды.

"Только телезрители будут активно участвовать в оценке песен путем голосования в прямом эфире финала. Жюри выберет восемь финалистов, также учитывая, насколько хорошо песни будут оцениваться аудиторией на YouTube", - говорит Илзе Янсоне, продюсер Supernova 2020. Имена финалистов будут объявлены 16 января.

Будут проведены 3 отборочные тура (11-18-25 января) с 12 артистами в каждом, половина из которых пройдет в стадию полуфиналов. После каждого из двух полуфиналов (1-8 февраля) домой отправятся по пять участников. Таким образом, в финале шоу (15 февраля) примут участие восемь исполнителей. Победителей будут выбирать совместно телезрители и жюри из пяти человек, которые будут менять каждое шоу. При телеголосовании будет разрешено до 5 голосов с одного номера телефона. Представитель Польши на Конкурсе Песни Евровидение 2020 будет выбран посредством телевизионной программы "Szansa na sukces" (Шанс на успех). Потенциальные конкурсные песни для Евровидения должны быть присланы до 13 января 2020 года. Участники должны быть гражданами Польши или ее резидентами. 18-21 артистов будут выбраны для участия в трех полуфиналах шоу, которые состоятся 2-9-16 февраля. Белтелерадиокомпания открыла прием заявок на участие в национальном отборочном туре конкурса песни "Евровидение-2020". Подать заявки можно до 17 января 2020 г. К участию допускаются граждане Республики Беларусь, а также иностранные граждане и лица без гражданства, постоянно проживающие на территории Республики Беларусь, которые на дату подачи заявки достигли 16 лет.

После этого первое жюри проведет предкастинг музыкальных композиций и сформирует список участников живого прослушивания. Список конкурсантов, допущенных к прослушиванию, будет опубликован на сайте организатора не позднее 22 января. Прослушивание запланировано на 27 января - по его итогам второй состав жюри простым большинством голосов определит до двенадцати участников финала проекта (число финалистов может быть изменено решением организатора самостоятельно или по предложению жюри). Во время проведения прослушивания на сайте Белтелерадиокомпании www.tvr.by будет осуществляться онлайн-трансляция.

Финал пройдет не позднее 6 марта 2020 г. в формате шоу в прямом телевизионном эфире на каналах "Беларусь 1" и "Беларусь 24". Победитель определится по итогам голосования профессионального жюри и зрителей. В случае если два и более участника финала набирают равное количество баллов, победитель определяется дополнительным открытым голосованием жюри.

Победитель первой серии X Factor Georgia 2014, участник национального отбора 2017 выиграл голосование во всех шоу сезона, кроме самого первого выпуска.

Телевидение Молдовы приступило к процессу проведения национального отбора на Евровидение 2020. В феврале место за судейским столом займет Народная артистка Украины Тина Кароль. Она присоединится к Андрею Данилко. Имя третьего члена жюри станет известным в ближайшее время.

В 2006 году Тина Кароль представляла Украину на песенном конкурсе Евровидение, который проходил в Афинах, где заняла 7 место. Больше 15 лет Тина Кароль занимается активной музыкальной деятельностью: певица является тренером вокального шоу "Голос країни", выпустила 11 альбомов, 35 клипов и 3 музыкальных фильма; на ее счету 11 концертных сольных туров. Тина Кароль многократно отмечена государственными и церковными наградами (за весомый вклад в развитие культуры и искусства Украины и за свою благотворительную деятельность), а также получила около 20 музыкальных и телевизионных премий, среди которых, M1 MUSIC AWARDS, YUNA, Телетриумф.

Завершен предварительный отбор песен для участия в хорватском национальном отборе DORA. Жюри определило имена 16 финалистов и четыре резервные композиции. Финал шоу состоится 29 февраля в зале им. Марино Цветковича в Опатии.

Артисты могли представить свои произведения на национальный отбор Евровидения до 8 декабря. Было получено более 60 работ, из которых 36 были отобраны для участия в концертах. Зрители услышат их во время 6 национальных отборочных туров. Артист, который в 2020 году будет представлять Литву на конкурсе Евровидение в Роттердаме, станет известен 15 февраля во время финала национального отбора.

Арилена Ара представит Албанию на Евровидении 2020 с композицией Shaj. Это - первая песня, выбранная для участия в конкурсе. Ее автор - македонец Дарко Димитров (Македония 2006, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2019, Сербия 2018, 2019, спродюсировал песню Албании на Евровидении 2015). Сара Байрактари заняла третье место, Эльвана Гьята стала второй.

В интервью после финала Ара отметила, что на Евровидении ее песня, скорее всего, будет исполнена по-английски (на нем она была написана изначально), но окончательное решение будет принято позднее совместно всей делегацией Албании.
