Athena Manoukian, is a Greek singer/songwriter of Armenian descent, born 22 May 1994 in Athens. From a very young age, Athena showed her talent in music and incredible ability in performing on stage. Athena always strives to be at the top of what she loves doing the most in life.

Manoukian's first experience in the music industry was in 2007, when at the age of 12 she participated in and won first prize at a talent contest called "This Is What’s Missing" an TV show production of the Alpha Television Network in Greece. A year later, in 2008, she participated in the national pre-selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song "To Fili Tis Afroditis", where she placed seventh. In 2011, Manoukian released her first single named "Party Like A Freak" which became one of the biggest hit singles in Europe and has over a million views on YouTube. Following the success of "Party Like A Freak" which was nominated twice for winning an award at the Video Music Awards, Manoukian, in 2012 she released a follow-up single "I Surrender" which instantly became the summer hit of year. She added a new song to her music discography a few months later named "Na Les Pos M'agapas". All of her first three singles were certified Gold.

In 2014, Manoukian released "XO" published by Warner Chappel / Max Music Scandinavia. The track was recorded in Sweden, Stockholm and its music video shot in Australia, Sydney with a successful music video and had great success in Europe, Asia, Australia and America. Manoukian had big success in Armenia with the song and gained a lot of attention from media. She also reached number 1 in charts and won the "Armenian Pulse Awards" competition for "Best Song In English". She has been widely tipped to represent Armenia in Eurovision Song Contest, particularly in 2015 and 2016 and confirmed a desire to compete in Eurovision for either Armenia, Greece, or Cyprus.

In 2017, Manoukian broke into the music industry as a songwriter and wrote the lyrics and music for "Palia Mou Agapi" performed by Helena Paparizou, the winner of Eurovision Song Contest 2005. Manoukian got a Platinum Disc, as the song reached over a thousand sales. The following year, 2018, she did a guest live show appearance for The X Factor in the United Kingdom and reached the front page of the newspaper The Sun and many more major newspapers and magazines, talking about the fierce stage presence. She amazed the judges Louis Tomlinson from One Direction, Simon Cowell, Robbie Williams and Ayda Fields. Her live show appearance got viral.

Talking about her contest entry "Chains On You", the singer notes that she wrote it together with her producer (she did the lyrics, and he - the music) in her studio while working on the new album. This song is about the fact that in each of us there is a diamond that someone sometimes wants to take away from us, but only the person to whom it is given from the birth can make it shine.

Preselection

On 5 November the Public TV Company of Armenia has announced the return of its national selection format for the Eurovision Song Contest Depi Evratesil. As in 2018, this year's contest will feature artists with their original songs and performances. Submission window was open until 31 December 2019. The project is open to citizens of the Republic of Armenia and Armenians from all over the world. The song (music and lyrics) submitted to the competition should not be published in any way until 1 September 2019. Submission package must include contest entry in MP3 or WAV format, photos of the artist and copyright registration certificate for the song. Shortlisted acts may be invited to attend live auditions. AMPTV received 53 valid applications that were reviewed by the professional jury (the applications sent after the deadline were not considered). 12 best acts were picked to compete during the national final, where the winner will get a chance to sing for Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. When reviewing the applications, the jury considered the validness of the application, the conformity of the song to the rules and the format of the contest, as well as the diversity of genres. The members of the jury included Naira Gurjinyan, Anita Hakhverdyan, Lilia Nikoyan, Ruben Babayan, Vardan Hakobyan, Tigran Danielyan, David Tserunyan, Karen Tataryan and Anush Ter-Ghukasyan. Contest entries were released to public on 5 February.

Depi Evratesil will take place on 15th of February at 19:00 CET live on Channel One and www.1tv.am. International Professional Jury:

Атена Манукян, греческая певица и автор песен армянского происхождения, родилась 22 мая 1994 года в Афинах. 5 ноября Общественная телекомпания Армении объявила о возвращении национального отборочного формата для конкурса Евровидение Depi Evratesil. Как и в 2018 году, в этом году в конкурсе примут участие артисты с их оригинальными песнями и номерами. Окно подачи заявок было открыто до 31 декабря 2019 года. Участие в проекте открыто для граждан Республики Армения и армян со всего мира. Песни (музыка и текст), представленные на конкурс, не должны были быть опубликованы ни в каком формате до 1 сентября 2019 года. Пакет заявки должен включать в себя конкурсную работу в формате MP3 или WAV, фотографии исполнителя и свидетельство о регистрации авторского права на песню. 12 финалистов были отобраны профессиональным жюри из 53 заявок. При их рассмотрении жюри оценивало соответствие песни правилам и формату конкурса, а также учитывало разнообразие жанров. В состав жюри вошли Наира Гурджинян, Анита Ахвердян, Лилия Никоян, Рубен Бабаян, Вардан Акопян, Тигран Даниелян, Давид Церунян, Карен Татарян и Ануш Тер-Гукасян. Конкурсные песни были представлены вниманию публики 5 февраля.

Финальное шоу состоится 15 февраля в 21:00 Москвы. Международное профессиональное жюри:
