Bio

Lucie Jones was born on 20 March, 1991, and comes from a small village called Pentyrch just outside Cardiff. Prior to her leap into the public eye, Lucie avidly performed and took leads in plays, musicals and modern dance shows. "I've always enjoyed singing. My mum genuinely says I could sing before I could talk!". Lucie has had vocal training from Louise Ryan, who trained Charlotte Church. In 2007, as a Scout, she went to the World Scout Jamboree, where she was a main singer singing the song 'Jambo,' which was the theme tune of the Jamboree in Hylands Park, Essex.

Jones got to the fame competing in Series 6 of The X-Factor UK. She auditioned with "I Will Always Love You" and competed in a team of Dannii Minogue. During bootcamp she sang "Hero" by Mariah Carey and "Hurt" by Christina Aguilera, in Judges' house - "Anything for You" by Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine, in live shows: "Footprints in the Sand" by Leona Lewis, "How Will I Know" by Whitney Houston, "My Funny Valentine" by Ella Fitzgerald, "Sweet Child o' Mine" by Guns N'Roses, "This Is Me" by Demi Lovato & Joe Jonas and "One Moment in Time" by Whitney Houston. She got eliminated in show 5 loosing to future Eurovision act Jedward in a controversial vote-off, where 1,113 viewers complained to UK TV Watchdog Ofcom about the show being fixed in favour of John & Edward, no investigation took place, however.

During her time with X Factor, she featured as a soloist on the X Factor charity single "You Are Not Alone", which reached No 1 in the UK charts. Subsequently she performed with the other finalists in the highly anticipated X Factor 2010 tour. She has also recorded charity single Confidence Is Consciousness. Lucie is an official anthem singer for Wales and England, and has performed God Save The Queen and the Wales' national anthem Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau at international matches, including games at Twickenham and Wembley Stadium.

There are many strings to Lucie Jones's bow, including acting, presenting, modelling and musical theatre. Lucie has a contract with one of London's top modelling agencies Select Model Management and has done photoshoots with some of the nation's most popular magazines, became face of several promotional campaigns. She has fronted the Beach Break Live and Wakestock music festivals for MTV in July 2012. She's currently starring as Maureen in Rent on the West End and UK Tour (with performances scheduled until the end of May), and has had lead roles as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde (Leicester Curve); Molly in Ghost (Asian Tour); Victoria in American Psycho (The Almeida); Meatloaf in We Will Rock You (International Tour); Kelly Byrne in The Prodigals (Edinburgh Festival); Cosette in Les Miserables (Queens Theatre, West End and O2 Arena). Lucie won the DIMF Best Actress in a Musical Award for her performance as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde the Musical.

Her television credits includes: Melody Carver in Midsomer Murders (ITV) for which she recorded single Ballad of Midsomer; Gemma in The Sarah Jane Adventures (BBC).

Lucie's musical influences are varied. "Growing up, I used to listen to all my dad's stuff, a lot of rock like Jon Bon Jovi and Pink Floyd." As a teenager, she loved pop music, and nowadays, Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars are the most played tracks on on her iPod. Her all-time favourite vocalist is Whitney Houston. "Beautiful, sexy, and unstoppable in her prime. Incredible.".

Lucie's family is thrilled she is a participant of Eurovision. Her brother has a Eurovision party every year and she's watched since she was a child. "I had no idea what was going on but I loved it! It's such a big part of people's lives, and it's been around me always". Going to the Eurovision she's as excited as she is nervous. "What an honour! It's such an institution, that's entertained for decades. And it's live TV! Who knows what could happen? I get butterflies just thinking about it".

Lucie's Eurovision entry song is called "Never Give Up On You", which Lucie describes as "very moving". "I can't sing it without crying! It comes from a very raw place. It's about love, support and undying motivation and encouragement. I can't wait to do it onstage and see if other people are as moved by it as I am"

The song was written by Eurovision 2013 winner Emmelie De Forest in cooperation with the Danish producer The Treatment and the British songwriter Lawrie Martin. The track was recorded in studio in Copenhagen. Emmelie de Forest was present at the national final in London and was overwhelmed by the win. "It's fantastic. I hoped that we would win, but one never knows. Lucie is a really, really good singer", she said after the show. Like the Emmelie in her time, Lucie performs barefoot on stage.

Emmelie de Forest is a 23 year old Danish/Swedish singer/songwriter. She was winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 with the multi-platinum Only Teardrops which went to Number one in 15 countries and top 5 in 17 others. Emmelie is signed to Universal Denmark and has released a number of successful records since then and is currently working on a new album in London.

Daniel Salcedo is a Hip hop/R&B writer/producer, based in Copenhagen. He is equally happy whether he is mixing records, writing songs or breaking new ground with his production skills. He has recently returned from a successful writing trip to LA.

Lawrie Martin is a Scottish songwriter and vocalist. He has recently had songs recorded by Zak Abel, Anne Marie, Kygo and Rita Ora for their upcoming projects.

What are the most interesting aspects about your entry?
This is the 60th entry for the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest and was co-written by Emmelie de Forest, a former Eurovision winner! I am a huge fan of Emmelie. It's an honour to be singing her song. Nobody knows my personal meaning of the song...the story I am singing the song about. I like that everyone has their own interpretation! We flew to Copenhagen to record the original version of the song. It was an amazing trip working with some really amazing people. We recorded at a studio visited by some of my favourite artists!

What are the most impressive facts about you?
I am an award winning actress who has loved working in theatre for the last 7 years. I've toured the world with some huge shows including Les Miserables, Ghost The Musical, Legally Blonde and playing arenas around Europe with the world famous Queen musical We Will Rock You. I appeared in the Doctor Who spin-off series, Sarah Jane Adventures in 2010. It was an amazing experience and very fun to star alongside the wonderful Elisabeth Sladen. I can play the Harry Potter theme tune on the flute AND the piano. I'm a huge fan...

Do you have a (lucky) routine before going on-stage?
I have certain songs that I love to listen to, to get me in the mood for being on stage! I carry a few specific photos with me that I look at before I sing to remind me why I do what I do. Also I HAVE to brush my teeth. Twice!

We present you recording of press-conference of winner of British national final Lucie Jones. During it she informed that her favourite Eurovision entry is Shady Lady, and she even performed it at West End Eurovision production.

Interestingly, singer who currently stars in Rent musical has a British tour dates scheduled until the end of May, so her participation in any promo-events is in doubt, however, she hopes to get to the Amsterdam party. Even to get to Kyiv she would have to cancel appearances in Poole and Coventry, but Lucie has stated she has got mutual understanding on this issue with producers of the show and they are going to give her a leave.

Preselection

British entry for 2016 Eurovision Song Contest was selected during the televised national preselection final Eurovision: You Decide broadcast on Friday 27 January 2017 live from Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith. On October 6 BBC has opened the public song submissions process to find the UK's entry for the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Submitted songs should have adhered to the EBU competition rules. The song should not have been publicly released before 1st September 2016; it should not have been performed in public or officially published on any media including but not limited to radio, TV and the Internet. Each singer/s must be 18 years old on or before 1st January 2017. Composers and song writers could only submit one entry. The closing date for entries was set on Tuesday 1 November 2016. The BBC reserved the right to use a performer of its choice for any song submitted for consideration. To register interest in representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, one should have emailed the title of the song, the name of the artist(s) and the name of the composer(s) to the following email address: BBCEurovisionSubmissions@bbc.co.uk. Within 72 hours of sending the email one should have received instructions on how to upload the video to the BBC Eurovision portal. The video did not have to be professionally shot and the audio production can be a demo – but it should have been sung live.

As last year, all public entries were carefully considered and shortlisted by a representative panel of official UK Eurovision Fan Club (OGAE UK) members. At the same time, entries were also being sought from leading professional songwriters, with guidance from Record Industry Executive and Music Consultant for the BBC, Hugh Goldsmith. The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) run a songwriting competition amongst its members. The BBC was also be consulting with music industry experts including producers, artist managers and members of the BPI. Songs from all routes of entry will be included in a final shortlist, which will be presented to a professional panel who will choose which songs go to the public vote.

Hugh Goldsmith says: "I am looking for songs which have the capacity to make a true impact on the 200 million people that will watch Eurovision live in May 2017. Good is not enough.... Great is required! The winning song will need to combine emotive lyrics and memorable melodies with a brilliant production. Writers should not be constrained by genre - Best in class is what we want! If you think you have the perfect song, we would love to hear from you."

Guy Freeman, Editor, BBC Special Events and Formats said, "This is the moment for anyone who passionately believes they've written an outstanding song that could win over the hearts and minds of millions of European TV viewers and professional juries, to go for it and submit their entry."

On 9 December BBC Two and BBC Music have announced that Eurovision: You Decide, the national song selection show for the UK entry, will take place on Friday 27 January 2017 live from the world-famous Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith. This year, for the first time, it will be broadcast live on BBC Two at 7.30pm with self-confessed Eurovision superfan, Mel Giedroyc, returning as presenter.

After a nationwide search, the 90-minute show will feature performances of six brand new songs. The performers will take to the stage with the hope of doing justice to the songs, and in a bid to impress both the viewers at home and a professional panel. They will compete for the honour of representing the United Kingdom at the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine. A panel of three experts (British singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Italian dancer and choreographer Bruno Tonioli, British vocal coach CeCe Sammy) will be on hand to provide insight and their thoughts about the songs and the artists, and how they could translate to the big arena in Ukraine. After the telephone and on-line vote has closed, the public votes are amalgamated with the jury vote (the expert panel will form part of the 8 member jury) and the winning song will be revealed.

The six competing songs were revealed on Monday 23 January on The Ken Bruce Show on BBC Radio 2. Listen to them here. All contenders have relation to the popular The X Factor show: Danyl Johnson and Lucie Jones reached live shows in 2009, Salena Mastroianni appeared in 2012 edition, Nate Simpson and Olivia Garcia competed in 2016, while Holly Brewer previously auditioned for The X Factor as well.

Presenter, Mel Giedroyc says: "I am positively giddy for Eurovision 2017 and chuffed that Eurovision: You Decide is back! I've been hearing great things about the standard of the songs this year and I just wish January would hurry up so that I can hear the songs and meet the performers! We've got an even bigger venue, exciting guest performers and a brilliant expert panel. It's going to be great."

Patrick Holland, Controller BBC Two said, "What a treat! We are delighted that Mel is bringing this evening of Eurovision joy to BBC Two." Tickets went on sale from 10am on Friday 9 December here and this year they have not been geo-locked, so available for the fans from the whole world.

Eurovision: You Decide will also feature two special music performances; the first from 2009 winner Alexander Rybak performing his winning song "Fairytale", and the second, by British pop rock band, The Vamps performing their song "All Night"

BBC Four will broadcast both semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 May. The Grand Final itself will be broadcast on BBC One on Saturday 13 May 2017.

Salena Mastroianni's no stranger to showbiz. She's worked as a backing vocalist and dancer for such famous faces as Robbie Williams and Rita Ora on tour. "I auditioned for Rita and she picked me. I couldn't believe it! I had an amazing experience going round the world with Rita. She was the first artist that I ever worked with and she was incredible." Salena claims her family aren't musical, but there's definitely talent in her genes: the Italian film actor Marcello Mastroianni is her fourth cousin. Salena's been singing since she was a little girl, and first started honing her musical skills whilst watching The Little Mermaid. "I still watch it, singing along!" She grew up listening to hip-hop, RNB and garage, but her major musical influence as a child was Christina Aguilera. "I used to listen to her album ‘Stripped' and if I got one ad-lib wrong, I'd rewind and listen to it again." She credits her supportive parents for keeping up the faith in her singing skills. "They're incredible parents. They're so cool. I'll be thinking about them when I'm singing this song."

Salena's Eurovision: You Decide song is called I Don't Wanna Fight. "I love it. As soon as I heard it, I thought ‘It's mine!' It's so diverse, it could be about so many different things: how no one wants to fight, and that love survives." One of her favourite Eurovision moments was Blue's entry, I Can, in 2011, and Molly Smitten-Downes's 2014 entry, Children of the Universe. "It was great, such a strong song, and a very good live vocal too." Salena's excited about Eurovision, saying she has to pinch herself to make sure she's not dreaming. "I'm incredibly grateful and humbled. It's such an amazing platform and to be out there on TV, with all these viewers, it's such a positive thing. I've told my mum, but I've told her not to tell Dad because he'll blab!"

Danyl Johnson started singing at wedding functions when he was just 18, in a band called the Mark Tate Band. After that, he was in a duo called Empty Spaces, and two boybands, Streetlevel and Upfrunt, but his life changed forever in 2009 when he auditioned for The X Factor in what Simon Cowell described as "the best audition he'd ever heard." His influences include James Brown and Michael Jackson, and singer-songwriters like James Morrison and Jesse Ware. Danyl also cites Amy Winehouse as a major influence. "She took writing and style to another level. She never deviated from who she was." Outside of singing, Danyl is also an ambassador for the People's Postcode Lottery. "I pretty much give people money for a living… so it's not bad, really!"

Danyl and fellow X Factor contestant Lucie Jones, another Eurovision: You Decide hopeful, remain very good friends to this day. "She's like a little sister. She's so cheeky and fun. We give each other a call every couple of weeks and we take our dogs for walks. Our dogs are friends! It's an honour to be sharing the stage with her." His Eurovision: You Decide song is called Light Up The World, and Danyl describes it as "infectious and feel-good." "When I first heard it, I listened to it twice and phoned Rick (Blaskey, one of the writers) to tell him how uplifting it was. It's fun and Eurovision should be fun."

21-year-old Holly Brewer has been singing all her life, ever since her uncle, a professional pianist, gave her his old piano when she was just six. Since then, she has travelled the world performing. She is part of the girl group Girls International, and in December, she supported Jess Glynne, an experience she describes as "unbelievable". I've always longed to make music professionally. If I ever lost my voice, I don't know what I'd do!" Holly also sang at Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright's wedding, after the couple sent her an email. "I couldn't believe it, even six months later! I played the piano and sang during the wedding breakfast. They were the nicest audience I've ever performed for." Divas are Holly's main musical influence – she grew up listening to Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, and loves Beyoncé, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars and Adele. "I listen to their voices and feel inspired – for me, I love someone with a big vocal. Like Jessie J! She's unbelievable. The things she does vocally, I'm like: Wow!"

The first time Holly heard her Eurovision: You Decide song, I Wish I Loved You More, she instantly knew she wanted to sing it. "It's so powerful. There are so many songs about your heart being broken but not about you breaking someone else's heart. I love the title too, it tells you everything about the song, and the emotions behind it." Although Holly knows she'll be nervous performing the song, she'll be excited too. "I love the song, and I believe in the song, and that's all that matters. To actually perform on TV is like a dream come true."

Nate Simpson had always sung, but it wasn't until he reached secondary school that he decided to pursue a music career. "A friend of mine was round my house and he overheard me singing a John Legend song. He said I had a good voice and I should do it professionally. The next day he told everyone at school, and they were all hounding me trying to get me to sing." It was just the encouragement he needed, and nowadays he plays regular solo gigs and tours with his full eight-piece band, playing such venues as the London Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Cheltenham Jazz Festival and the O2 Academy. Nate's many musical influences include Stevie Wonder, Prince, Nat King Cole, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Aretha Franklin and Prince, who he thinks is "next level." In his gigs, he usually performs Purple Rain, but his all-time favourite Prince song is Diamonds and Pearls. He's also a big Luther Vandross fan. "Luther's got a storytelling voice, and such natural musical sensibility. He's my ultimate male singer by far."

Nate's Eurovision: You Decide song is called What Are We Made Of. He describe it as "essentially a love song, a break-up song, but then it changes. It becomes about what we are as human beings." His favourite lyric is "We are only skin and bones." "That's such a real reminder of how we're only human, and that we're all the same. Sometimes we have to take ourselves back to that." His favourite Eurovision act is Celine Dion – "she's phenomenal!" Justin Timberlake's 2016 performance was a firm favourite too. "Eurovision has a massive legacy behind it, and I really want to be able to take what I do there, which I hope is something different."

Olivia Garcia's first foray into the world of showbusiness was at just 10 years old, when she took the role of Mary in a school nativity play. Now that she's 16, Olivia's already on course for an impressive music career. In her hometown of Wigan in Greater Manchester, she's a regular performer at the local pubs and clubs. Now she can't wait to give Eurovision a try. "I've always dreamt of being a singer, I remember lying in bed when I was little going ‘Please, God, make me a singer!' Olivia's musical influences include Whitney Houston, Tina Turner and Leona Lewis, but Beyoncé is her all-time favourite performer. "I especially love the song Listen, it's such a big song with a really strong message." At 13, she broke her leg in a horse-riding accident, and was worried she might miss a Beyoncé concert at the Manchester Arena. Fortunately, her dad was there to carry her up the stairs to see her idol perform. "She looked like a queen. I can't remember half of it, I was crying my eyes out!"

Olivia's Eurovision: You Decide song is called Freedom Hearts, and she's already a big fan. "I'm absolutely in love with it. It's really powerful. My dad says I need to give myself a break from singing it all the time!" Olivia's favourite lyric is "Listen to whispers of all these freedom hearts." "It represents people that don't have as big a voice as others. It reminds me of trying to get out there, to make my voice heard." A lifelong fan of Eurovision, her favourite song from the show's history is Conchita Wurst's "Rise Like A Phoenix," and it's often part of her set. "That was my favourite song for ages. It was so powerful at the time because it was something completely different. It shows it's OK to be different. When I sing it onstage, I always announce it as my favourite song ever." At just 16, she's the youngest ever participant on Eurovision: You Decide.

Интересно, что у певицы, играющей в мюзикле Rent расписаны даты британского турне вплоть до конца мая, потому ее участие в любых промо находится под большим вопросом, хотя она надеется выступить в Амстердаме. Даже для того, чтобы попасть в Киев ей придется отказаться от выступлений в Пуле и Ковентри, но Люси заявила, что по этому вопросу у нее достигнуто понимание с продюсерами, которые готовы пойти навстречу.

Национальный отбор

Песня Великобритании для Евровидения будет выбрана посредством телевизионного национального отбора Eurovision: You Decide, который выйдет в эфир BBC Two 27 января 2017 года в прямом эфире из Eventim Apollo, Хаммерсмит. 6го октября BBC открыло прием заявок на участие в отборе от публики.

Подаваемые на конкурс песни должны соответствовать правилами ЕВ. Песни не должны были быть выпущены до 1го сентября 2016 года, не должны были быть исполнены публично, официально опубликованы на любых платформах, включая, но не ограничиваясь радио, ТВ и интернетом. Участвующим артистам должно по состоянию на 1 января 2017 года исполниться 18 лет. Композиторы и авторы песен имели право подать только одну заявку. Период приема заявок завершился во вторник 1го ноября 2016 года. BBC оставляло за собой право подбора другого исполнителя любой песне, поданной на участие в конкурсе. Для того, чтобы зарегистрировать свой интерес в том, чтобы представить Великобританию на Евровидении 2017, нужно было отправить название песни, имена исполнителей и авторов на адрес: BBCEurovisionSubmissions@bbc.co.uk. В течение 72 часов после отправки e-mail участники получали инструкции о том, как загрузить видео на портал BBC. Видео не должно быть профессионально снятым, а аудиозапись в нем может быть демоверсией - но исполнение в видео должно быть живым.

Как и в прошлом году, все заявки, поданные в рамках открытого отбора будут оцениваться жюри, составленным из членов местного фан-клуба Евровидения ОГАЕ Великобритания. В то же самое время, заявки также будут привлекаться от крупнейших профессиональных авторов песен, этот процесс будет осуществляться при посредничестве музыкального консультанта BBC Хью Голдсмита. Британская Академия Авторов Песен (BASCA) проведет конкурс среди своих членов. BBC также будет консультироваться с экспертами в музыкальной индустрии, включая продюсеров, менеджеров артистов и членов BPI. Песни, отобранные из различных источников, войдут в окончательный короткий список, который будет представлен профессиональному жюри, которое, в свою очередь, и определит те песни, что будут вынесены на суд зрителей.

Хью Голдсмит говорит: "Я ищу песни, которые смогут оказать настоящие влияние на 200 миллионов зрителей, которые будут смотреть финал Евровидения в мае 2017 года. Просто хорошие песни - это недостаточно. Нужны превосходные! Песня-победительница должна соединять в себе эмоциональный текст, запоминающуюся мелодию и выдающийся продакшн. Гай Фримен, редактор отдела BBC по специальным мероприятиям и форматам говорит: "Пришло время для всех, кто страстно верит в то, что он написал выдающуюся песню, которая может завоевать сердца и умы миллионов Европейских телезрителей и членов профессиональных жюри, подать ее на участие в нашем отборе".

9го декабря BBC Two и BBC Music объявилио том, что Eurovision: You Decide, национальный отбор Великобритании на Евровидение 2017 пройдет 27 января 2017 года во всемирно известном Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith. В этом году, впервые, национальный отбор выйдет в эфир телеканала BBC Two, начало в 19:30 местного времени. Ведущей отбора вновь станет Мел Гидройс.

По итогам проведенного национального поиска, в 90-минутном финальном шоу выступят 6 артистов, которые представят свои новые песни. Их задачей будет оказать впечатление как на зрителей, так и на профессиональных экспертов. Три эксперта (британская певица Софи Эллис-Бекстор, итальянский танцор и хореограф Брюно Тониоли, британский педагог по вокалу CeCe Sammy) будут высказывать свое мнение о конкурсных песнях и их исполнителях, проецируя их выступления на большую сцену в Украине. После телефонного и онлайн голосования, голоса зрителей будут просуммированы с голосами жюри (эксперты войдут в состав жюри из 8 человек) и будет определена песня-победитель.

Шесть конкурсных песен были впервые представлены в понедельник, 23 января, в программе The Ken Bruce Show на BBC Radio 2. Слушайте их здесь. Все конкурсанты шоу имеют ту или иную связь с популярным шоу талантов X-Factor. Данил Джонсон и Люси Джоун принимали участие в нем в 2009 году, Салена Мастроянни в 2012, Нэйт Симпсон и Оливия Гарсия - в 2016 году, и Холли Брюер также принимала участие в прослушиваниях к нему.

Билеты на финальное шоу поступили в продажу в 10 утра 9го декабря, и впервые не были геоблокированы, т.е. доступны для приобретения поклонниками конкурса со всего мира.

Также в шоу выступят специальные гости. 16го декабря было объявлено, что одним из них станет победитель Евровидения 2009 Александр Рыбак с песней "Fairytale". Вторые гости были объявлены 21 января, ими стали The Vamps c песней "All Night".

Полуфиналы международного Евровидения покажет телеканал BBC Four, а финал, как обычно - BBC One.

Салена Мастроянни не новичок в шоу-бизнесе. Она работала в качестве бэк-вокалистки и танцовщицы для таких известных артистов, как Робби Уильямс и Рита Ора на их турне. "Я прошла прослушивания на работу с Ритой Орой и она выбрала меня! Я не могла поверить в это. Работа с Ритой на мировом турне - это огромный опыт. Она - первая исполнительница, с которой я работала, и она была потрясающей. Салена утверждает, что ее семья не музыкальная, но талант определенно есть в ее генах: итальянский киноактер Марчелло Мастроянни является ее пятиюродным братом. Салена пела с самого детства, и начала оттачивать свои музыкальные навыки во время просмотра мультфильма "Русалочка". Она выросла, слушая хип-хоп, RnB и гаражную музыку, но главное музыкальное влияние на нее как на ребенка оказала Кристина Агилера. Салена подчеркивает свою благодарность родителям за веру в ее вокальный талант. "Они потрясающие родители, такие клевые, я буду думать о них, когда буду исполнять свою песню".

Конкурсная песня Салены: I Don't Wanna Fight. "Я обожаю ее. Как только я ее услышала, то подумала: "Она моя!". Она такая разносторонняя, она может быть о многих вещах: о том, как никто не хочет сражаться, и как любовь выживает". Своими любимыми песнями Евровидения она считает заявки Blue в 2011 году и Молли Смиттен-Даунс в 2014 году. "Очень мощная песня, и хороший вокал", говорит она. С той поры она путешествовала по миру исполняя песни. Она входила в состав группы Girls International, а в декабре выступала на разогреве у Джесс Глинна. "Я всегда хотела профессионально заниматься музыкой. Если я когда-либо потеряю голос, то не знаю, что и буду делать!" Основное влияние на творчество Холли оказали Дивы - она выросла, слушая Whitney Houston и Mariah Carey, а также любит Beyoncé, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars и Adele.

С самого первого момента, как Холли услышала свою конкурсную песню I Wish I Loved You More, она захотела исполнять ее. "Она настолько мощная. Нэйт Симпсон пел всегда, но решил сосредоточиться на своей музыкальной карьере только в старшей школе. "Я всегда мечтала быть певицей, когда я была маленькая, то молилась: "Боже, пожалуйста, сделай меня певицей", рассказывает она. Своими музыкальными влияниями Оливия считает Уитни Хьюстон, Тину Тернер и Леону Льюис, но ее самой любимой исполнительницей стается Байонсе. В 13 лет она сломала ногу упав с лошади и очень боялась, что из-за этого ей придется пропустить концерт своего кумира на Manchester Arena. К счастью, папа помог ей и на руках донес до места в зрительском зале. "Она выглядела как королева, я не помню и половины шоу, потому что я проплакала все его!"

Конкурсная песня Оливии: Freedom Hearts, и она сразу же стала ее фанатом. "Я абсолютно влюблена в нее. Она очень мощная. Мой папа говорит, что мне уже пора отдохнуть, а не петь ее все время!". Любимая строчка Оливии: "Услышь шепот этих сердец свободы". "Она представляет людей у которых нет такого сильного голоса, как у других. Она напоминает мне о моих собственных попытках пробиться, чтобы мой голос был услышан".
