San Marino RTV has chosen and takes part in its 8th Eurovision Song Contest with a surprising constellation, almost a trio. Created by an old friend and two outstanding singers and artists. The first artist is well known to the Eurovision audience. She was defined 'The most famous San Marino woman in the world', while the second artist is an American singer, musician and ‘Musical' actor. The third of this trio is a producer and songwriter, who is also part of the Eurovision history and for him this will be 25th Eurovision entry.

The story is very simple: 'Passion, Music and Entertainment'. The same passion and the same fun, that you experience in a disco, which is the location where the video has been shot. This has been produced by Jupiter Records and the Dutch company EM Film Works and was directed by Ernest Meholli. The chosen location is the mythical and famous Club ‘P1' in Munich.

Valentina is at her fourth ESC, a small record for an artist that we consider a symbol at the San Marino Radiotelevision. She repeats the record previously hold by Fud Leclerc and Peter, Sue & Marc

San Marino RTV has decided to compete in its eighth Eurovision Song Contest with a very special constellation, almost a trio. A trio of an old friend and the two exceptionary artists and singers. The first artist is known very well to the Eurovision public and is being called "the most popular person from San Marino in the world" and the second is a singer, musician and actor of musicals. The third of this trio is a producer and composer who is also part of the Eurovision history.

It is the story of 'Passion, Music and Entertainment'. The same passion and the same fun which you can experience in the music video produced by Jupiter Records EM and the Dutch Film Works and directed by Ernest Meholli. As the location for the shootings was chosen was the legendary disco 'P1' in Munich.

Valentina Monetta enters Eurovision for the fourth time, all-time Eurovision record for an artist who is symbol of the Radio and Television of San Marino.

Valentina Monetta was born on March 1, 1975 in San Marino. She is the second of two children, her father is from Calabria and her mother is Sammarinese. Valentina spent her childhood in San Marino where she attended primary and secondary schools. She then graduated from the high school for arts, Giovanni da Rimini, in Rimini. In her childhood she discovered the love for music, listening in a tireless way to various musical styles, creating and forming over time a specific taste. Although she has not dealt with an academic background, she had studied piano and singing by herself, reaching the same professional high quality. Starting from 1995, she has been working with the best local musicians, becoming a versatile singer with a great talent for improvisation; her voice is both colorful and versatile, ranging from jazz to melodic Italian, from soul to R&B and pop.

With her first group "Tiberio" she got her first taste of Black Music vocals (R&B, Soul, Funky, Acid Jazz), she worked with Hip Hop with her second group "Parafunky" and started a new partnership with "Monica Giacomobono” for the Sharm project, which then became Harem-B. She continued her collaboration with vocalist Vanessa J and high calliper musicians like Marcello Sutera, Nicola Peruk and Nabuk. In the meantime, she was able to put her love of jazz and Bossa nova into practice with various local bands. She performed backup for Silvie Vartan, DJ Master Frees, Bombo's, El Ruben and R. Fame, Elena Cattaneo and Dance-House for musical productions.

In 2002, she released the single "Sharp" with Sony Music as part of the "Sharm" project in collaboration with Paul Manners Production.  In 2006, she joined the discography project, 2black, a very successful record in 2004 with the single (a remake of “In Alto Mare” by Loredana Berte) "Waves of Love" releasing the main track "Vai" with a new single in Summer 2006. In the meantime, Valentina created her bases, her melodies and her beats, submitting the song "Se non ci sei tu" for the competition to select the artist to represent San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. Today, thanks to her experience, better self-awareness and talent, Valentina Monetta started to explore her love of jazz and Bebop rediscovering the importance of Italian music and its artists. She recorded her album "Il Mio Gioco Preferito" with the trio My Funky Valentine (Simone Migani on piano, Massimiliano Castri on drums, Alex Gorbi on bass).

In March of 2012 she has worked with Fabrizio Raggi staging the show Ma Che Differenza Fa, a tribute to Ornella Vanoni in which Valentina shows her singing and acting talent. In August 2012, still directed by Raggi, she was the protagonist of Camelia, a musical commissioned by UNICEF, in which Valentina presented her songs together with covers of some great Italian singers and songwriters. Her most recent experiences are all with her live band My Funky Valentine.

Valentina has already represented San Marino three times. At Eurovision 2012 with "The Social Network Song oh oh-uh-oh oh", finishing 14th in her semi and at Eurovision 2013 with "Crisalide (Vola)" finishing 11th. Her entry has also been voted second only to Denmark by the Organisation of Eurovision Fans, OGAE. In June 2013 she released new album, "La storia di Valentina Monetta". The first single from the upcoming album, "L'amore verrà", was released along with the music video on 11 October 2013. "A Kiss", a duet with Joshua de Cadenéx, was premierred on a Christmas Eve. In 2014 with "Maybe" Valentina managed to bring San Marino to the finals for the first time in history, where she finished 24th. Her third album "Sensibilità (Sensibility)" was released on 4 April 2014.

She really loves the stage, having contact with the public, with her band, she creates a fact in the 'here and now' of the scene; in that way she feels to be an active part of a unique artistic process, in which she assumes the risk of transmitting something real and concrete, becoming a free artist, and a free woman. With her songs, she tells of human suffering, sometimes with irony, sometimes with sarcasm; love is a key element that is at the same time protagonist and antagonist. In her songs, on the stage, she wants to create a concrete fact, without deceit, without covers, making it a unique singer-songwriter style with great singing talent and musicality in the blood.

Jimmie Wilson from Detroit, Michigan, US, has already has made an own history in the music, he starred in the musical 'Sisterella' of Michael Jackson and in the role of Barack Obama in the Musical 'Hope'. Even as a child he is active in the gospel choir, studied acting in Hollywood. He also performed with stars such as Seal, Lionel Richie, The Weather Girls and DJ BoBo, etc. After the European tour of "Sisterella", he stayed in Germany, residing in Frankfurt. Wilson competed in the 3rd season of Polish TV show "Must Be The Music" reaching semifinals, and after that appeared in various events in Poland. In 2015 he released singles "So Damn Beautiful" and "You're the One (Miss Model of the World)".

It was immediately an extraordinary feeling between them, as if they've been singing together since ever. And then Ralph, a friend of San Marino, whose passion and music always shows – once again – that great Musicians have no age. What else? The show will live of the voices and the scenic strength of the two artists – and on the will to sing, perform and enjoy to make music together.

Ralph Siegel was born in Munich in 1945. At 13, he started taking lessons in harmony and composition and studied various instruments such as the piano, accordion, guitar and drums. After graduation, he spent years in Paris, Nashville and New York and started his professional career at the age of 20, as composer, lyricist, producer and publisher. Ralph wrote the Eurovision Song Contest winner in 1982, A Little Peace, performed by Nicole, and has participated in the competition 24 times. He wrote Theater, Johnny Blue, Journey to Jerusalem and We're Giving a Party, all of which reached the top three in the contest.

Ralph said; "Music is still my life and the Eurovision Song Contest is the most wonderful possibility to present a song as a composer, that millions of people around the world can hear and hopefully like. As a producer I love to help great artists to be able to show their talent and touch the hearts of the audience. This is my 25th participation in the contest and I want to thank all the artists and musicians that have joined me on this journey".

Jutta Staudenmayer is a German singer and lyricist who was many years of experience on stage. She specialises in lyrics in all genres of pop, classical music, TV Shows and children's songs. Lyrics on rockers like The Huguenots and Friedrich Rückert were characteristic in the early years. She has worked on many successful projects. The essence of the language and their emotion, and the craft of rhyme and metric is its unique selling point. She says about herself: a song can change your life in just one moment.

Steven Barnacle is an English musician, composer, lyricist, with extensive experience with many famous artists. He loves the challenge of working with different people from different backgrounds and countries to see if the mix works, always in search of magic! "For me the unique thing about a good song is, that you can take it with you, memorised, unlike a good book, film or painting you can re-create it yourself, alone or with other people, this makes it most interactive art form of all".

- What are the three most interesting aspects about your entry?
- Valentina: I sing with another artist on stage with a completely different approach and a responsibility. The song is completely different compared to my earlier Eurovision entries.
- Jimmie: It’s an international duet, Sammarinese meets an American. It’s high energy and it’s simply a FUN song!

- What are the three most impressive facts about you?
Valentina: I see not colour but feel everything, I feel the pain of the world and the beauty with in, I respect all energies around me.
Jimmie: My voice, the value of friendships, my adventurous nature.

- Do you have a (lucky) routine before you go on stage?
Valentina: I think how much I'm lucky and give all that is true of my heart.
Jimmie: I don’t have any rituals before going on stage. Just some vocal warm-up exercises and focusing on being a good entertainer for the audience. That’s what the audience is expecting and I want to deliver.

- Why is the Eurovision Song Contest important for you?
Valentina: It is one of the biggest chances to show my talent, enjoying music, people and a professional environment.
Jimmie: Eurovision is important to me as a singer because you reach a multi-million international audience with ONE performance! Also Eurovision stands for diversity and inclusiveness which is so needed in the world today.

Lia Fiorio and Gigi Restivo this year besides commenting the show on SMRTV, will also announce votes of the Sammarinese jury.

Interview

Valentina Monetta and Jimmie Wilson, representing San Marino, are our next guests. For Valentina it will be her 4th Eurovision, a record. Even though she stated earlier that she wouldn't return to the contest again, many messages by fans and the song itself made her change her mind. "I'm so happy to be again part of the Eurovision family, working with Ralph is amazing as always and performing as a duet with a singer like Jimmie is very inspiring. I decided to come back for my Eurovision fans, since 2012 I have been receiving messages from them every day, "please come back Vale", so here I am, and also the idea to be on stage as a duet with Jimmie after listening to the song, I thought there were not enough reasons to say no".

"It's such an honor to represent San Marino with The Queen Valentina. I’m so lucky to be a part of this legendary team with Valentina and Ralph Siegel. I feel very positive about our performance", says Jimmie. "Since living in Europe, i’ve been interested in ESC as a fan. I got involved finally after meeting Ralph Siegel by chance at an event. He thought that I would be a great match with Valentina and he was right. It was an instant chemistry between me and Valentina from the first moment. She is a wonderful singer and performer. It's a pleasure for me", he adds.

Both singers agree that "Spirit of the night" is a positive and fun song to sing, a 'feel good' song. "It is fun, full of positive energy but I would add full of romance too. It's also "I Feel nice, like sugar and spice" song", says Valentina. Duo says they are not sure if the song was written especially for them, but they felt it and made their own. "When I heard the song the first time, I started dancing and singing immediately and instinctively", Valentina adds.

They are preparing for the contest with legendary songwriter and producer Ralph Siegel. "Ralph is definitely one of composers who have made the history of the Eurovision, I'm so honoured to have been taken under his wings", says Valentina. Jimmie is also proud to share Ralph's record 25th entry. "What an incredible piece of ESC history", he notes. Team is looking forward benefiting from a lot of experience, creative and open mind of Ralph Siegel, but highlight the preparation is a collective effort from the whole team. "Ralph as always is a team player believing in every proposals from artist and art directors, considering how the artist feel as the must important thing", explains Valentina.

There are no plans to record the song in other languages, Valentina says she doesn't think it will work in Italian. As for the stage performance Jimmie and Valentina want it to focus on their strong vocals. "Both Valentina and myself are natural 'live' performers. For me personally, I would not like our performance to be distracted with too much 'show'. We are two strong vocalists and we want that to be the main focus. But, of course we are working hard on a stage plan that fits our performance", explains Jimmie. "We are part of a team which is fully working hard every day about it. We are strong enough to give all energy on stage, quality and experience that will serve to make the performance special", adds Valentina. Revealing a little hint, Valentina says they may be joined on stage by "three colourful backing vocalists".

The song was presented to the public alongside music video for the entry. Valentina says that the music video is a story about the meeting between different people who want to know and share the joy of music and feelings. "The story line of the music video is simple. Boy meets girl, boy loses girl in a club. Girl finds boy. Hahaha. It’s a story of romance. Strangers meeting for the first time and being attracted to each other. Just like in real life", adds Jimmie. The aim at the contest for Valentina is simple - to give her best, this time with more funky energy and freedom. "My aim is just to ‘enjoy the ride’. Do my best and have fun performing. As I do with all of my performances. No one can predict the outcome. We can only give our best", adds Jimmie.

Team is spending time beween San Marino and Munich for their preparations. Valentina says she has returned back from London to her wonderful home country. At the same time Jimmie for several years is residing in Germany. "I came to Europe on tour as a musical star in Austria and Germany, performing in Sisterella of Michael Jackson and "Hope - The Obama Musical Story". After the tour, I begin to get offers for different projects and basically it never stopped. So, I decided to stay in Germany. I enjoy the diversity of Europe and it’s different cultures. I have performed in nearly every country in Europe including Russia (Moscow/St.Petersberg) and parts of Asia", he explains.

In the preparations for Kyiv there will be appearances at the promotional parties in Israel and Amsterdam. They've also listened to most other competing songs. Jimmie sees the Romanian entry as one that sticks out. "People will love it or hate but, it’s "special". I think Russia's choice was a very positive choice. I think it's a good message that people should not give up on their dreams regardless of their circumstances. There are several that sound similar to what the current 'radio sound' sound is today. Not sure if that is good or not? I think 'Spirit Of The Night' didn’t follow that trend. Which I am happy about", he says. At the same time Valentina adds that the Portuguese song is the only one that got to her heart and mind, has a lovely sound, is very emotional and typically represent her personal flavour outside of the contest.

Duo hopes that this is not a one time project. "I believe that between me and Jimmie there’s a great vibe, we will still make many things together", says Valentina. As of recording more material of Ralph Siegel, Valentina jokes: "Maybe!".

17/04: "The Reviews" preview show goes on air

Today at the Grand Hotel San Marino was held official press-presentation of the duet representing San Marino at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

"The style chosen for the stage presentation will be that of a live concert, simple choreography, but with a nice power" explained the Head of Delegation Alessandro Capicchioni.

"We are two spirits of the night. Ours is a duo of black and white. We enter the contest with slightly old fashioned song, but a black voice combined with a funky artist like me is a perfect mix ", said Valentina Monetta.

"Finding myself here in San Marino is a destiny - commented Wilson - I'm from Detroit, the city where there's a biggest community of Sammarinese people: nothing happens by chance."

Head of broadcaster Carlo Romeo also commented on the issue with the ban of the Russian entrant Yulia Samoylova. "As the State broadcaster we do not agree with this behavior of the organizers of the contest in Ukraine. We do not care if it's a conspiracy or a Russian provocation, the Eurovision should be a neutral ground that goes beyond what is going on in the world, otherwise it loses its meaning "concluded Romeo.

12/03: Valentina Monetta and Ralph Siegel make comeback

In the aftermath of the interview of San Marino RTV CEO Carlo Romeo published yesterday, EBU has finally responded with a letter to the Sammarinese broadcaster, rejecting proposals made by it last November.

Three changes were requested by RTV San Marino, the most important was a proposal to simulate televoting with a panel of local citizen. Broadcaster calls it a sensitive topic for both the RTV San Marino and for the fans of the Eurovision Song Contest.

RTV thanked the EBU for the kind feedback and hopes to pursue the matter again in future.

San Marino to be represented by the duet, informed broadcaster's director general Carlo Romeo in an interview to Eurofestival News. "It was a very complex year. In the end I think we chose the best solution with a duet of a foreign artist and a local one that I am sure will prove to be a surprise. The announcement will be made during the week".

Romeo also informed that SanMarino RTV has not received any response from the EBU on their proposal of simulation of televoting in the country with special panel of local citizen. "We have no news on it and it's a shame. It is a perfectly sensible proposal that would put an end to a kind of stupid and vicious discrimination against San Marino". Romeo also complained to the fact that allegedly EBU has doubled entry fee of the small states. He adds that broadcaster will be reconsidering participation in the contest in such conditions after May.

It also was confirmed that Lia Fiorio and Gigi Restivo will be back to comment the show on the local broadcaster.

On 17 November San Marino RTV revealed proposal to simulate the national televote in the Republic of San Marino with a public panel.

In autumn 2015 the new rules of the Eurovision Song Contest have been released. In contrast to the other nations, the rules stated that San Marino has the faculty to only assign 58 points out of 116 as the televote is technically impossible in San Marino. San Marino RTV immediately protested against the lack of prior information of this relevant change. During the ESC 2016, the San Marino televote was formed by a combined result of some countries, yet unveiled, that were added to the points assigned by the jurors in San Marino.

Recently, San Marino RTV forwarded a complete proposal to establish a panel with the function of televote in the Republic of San Marino to the EBU. The proposed solution expects the San Marino televote to be simulated by a sample of San Marino RTV viewers. Their vote would be added to the jury one in order to form the San Marino vote at the next Eurovision Song Contest.

The panel would be composed by a sample of TV viewers chosen among the people living in the territory of the Republic of San Marino, may they be citizens, residents or people with residency permit only. This choice is necessary to simulate the composition of a national TV audience. The panel will be chosen by an external specialized company and its composition will be unknown to San Marino RTV. The members of the panel would have as much time to vote as the other European viewers.

The model which has inspired the proposed solution was successfully adopted in the Festival di Sanremo since 2013. "It is statistically proved that the results of this model perfectly simulates the televoting slope" states Eddy Anselmi, historian and Festival di Sanremo expert. "If the members of the panel were selected to reflect the viewers, the outcome of their vote would probably be similar to an hypotetical real televote and therefore it would be representative of the tastes of the Sammarinese".

San Marino RTV Director General Mr. Carlo Romeo is happy with the proposal. "It is a very balanced solution which has few or no counter-indications. We hope for a positive answer from the governing body of the contest. The Republic of San Marino deserves the same rights the other participating countries have".

Суть языка и его эмоций, а также рифмы и метрики - это уникальные, наиболее убедительные аргументы. Она говорит о себе: песня может изменить вашу жизнь всего за одну минуту.

Стивен Барнакль - английский музыкант, композитор, автор текстов, с широким опытом работы со многими известными артистами. Он обожает вызовы работы с людьми из разных слоев и стран, чтобы проверить, сработает ли эта смесь, и всегда находится в поисках волшебства. "Для меня, наиболее уникальный момент в хорошей песне, это то, что ты можешь взять ее с собой, запомнить, и, в отличие от хорошей книги, фильма или картины, ты можешь воссоздать ее сам, один, или с другими людьми, и это делает песни наиболее интерактивной формой искусства"

- Каковы три наиболее интересных аспекта вашей песни?
Валентина: Я пою с другим артистом на сцене, у нас совершенно разные подходы и ответственность. Песня полностью отличается от моих прошлых заявок на Евровидении.
Джимми: Это - международный дуэт, жительница Сан-Марино и американец. Это очень энергичная и просто заводная песня!

- Каковы три наиболее впечатляющих факта о вас самих?
Валентина: Я не вижу цветов, но чувствую все, я чувствую боль мира и его красоту, я уважаю всю энергию, которая находится вокруг меня.

Валентина Монетта и Джимми Уилсон, представляющие Сан-Марино, наши следующие гости. Для Валентины это будет уже 4м участием в Евровидении, рекорд. Даже несмотря на то, что она ранее заявляла о том, что уже не вернется на конкурс, просьбы поклонников и сама конкурсная песня заставили ее изменить решение. "Я так счастлива снова стать членом семьи Евровидения, работать с Ральфом, как обычно, потрясающе, а исполнять дуэт с таким певцом, как Джимми - очень вдохновляюще. Я решила вернуться на Евровидение ради моих поклонников, поскольку с 2012 году я получала множество посланий от них, "пожалуйста, вернись, Валя", и вот она я. Также мне понравилась идея исполнить дуэт с Джимми, и после того, как я исполнила песню, я подумала, что нет причин сказать "нет".

"Для меня такая честь представлять Сан-Марино вместе с Королевой Валентиной. Я счастлив стать частью этой легендарной команды вместе с Валентиной и Ральфом Зигелем. У меня очень позитивный настрой перед нашим выступлением", говорит Джимми. "С того момента, как я живу в Европе, я интересовался Евровидением как фанат. Наконец, после случайной встречи с Ральфом Зигелем на одном из мероприятий, мне выпала возможность самому выступить на нем. Ральф подумал, что я прекрасно подойду в дуэт к Валентине, и он оказался прав. Между нами мгновенно возникло взаимопонимание. Она - прекрасная певица. Для меня выступать с ней - большое удовольствие", добавляет он.

Оба исполнителя солидарны в том, что "Spirit of the night" - позитивная и веселая песня, песня хорошего настроения. "Она веселая, наполненная позитивной энергией, но, я могу добавить, что и романтикой. У нее есть определенный налет "I Feel nice, like sugar and spice"", говорит Валентина. Участники дуэта говорят, что не уверены, была ли песня написана специально для них, но в любом случае они прочувствовали ее и сделали ее своей. "Когда я впервые услышала эту песню, я немедленно инстинктивно начала петь и танцевать", добавляет Валентина.

Они готовятся к конкурсу с легендарным автором и продюсером Ральфом Зигелем. "Ральф, несомненно, один из композиторов, который творит историю Евровидения. У дуэта нет планов записывать песню на других языках, Валентина добавляет, что ей не кажется, что она сработает на итальянском. Мне бы хотелось, чтобы слишком большое "шоу" не отвлекало от нашего выступления. Мы оба - сильные вокалисты, и мы хотим, чтобы это стало нашим основным фокусом. Песня была представлена публике вместе с видеоклипом на нее. Валетина говорит, что видеоклип - история встречи двух разных людей, которых объединяют интерес к музыке и чувства. "Сюжетная линия клипа очень проста. Парень встречается с девушкой, парень теряет девушку в переполненном клубе, девушка находит парня. Хахаха. Это очень романтичная история. Незнакомцы впервые встречаются и чувствуют притяжение друг к другу. Как в реальной жизни", добавляет Джимми. Цель на конкурсе для Валентины очень проста - показать себя с наилучшей стороны, на этот раз с большей фанк-энергией и свободой. "Моя цель - просто получать удовольствие от этого пути. Сделать все, на что я способен и повеселиться одновременно. Также я подхожу и ко всем своим выступлениям. Никто не может предсказать результат, мы можем только показать все, что мы можем", добавляет Джимми.

Команда проводит подготовку к конкурсу в Сан-Марино и Мюнхене. Валентина говорит, что уже вернулась домой из Лондона, где жила несколько лет, в свою замечательную страну. В то же время Джимми уже несколько лет живет в Германии. "Я приехал в Европу в рамках турне с мюзиклами по Германии и Австрии, я выступал в Sisterella Майкла Джексона и "Hope - The Obama Musical Story". После тура я стал получать очень много предложений, и они не прекращались. Потому я просто решил остаться в Германии. Мне очень нравится разнообразие Европы и ее культур. Я выступал практически во всех странах Европы, включая Россию (Москва и Санкт-Петербург) и даже частях Азии", объясняет он.

В рамках подготовки к Киеву дуэт выступит на промо-вечеринках в Израиле и Амстердаме. Они также уже прослушали другие конкурсные песни. По мнению Джимми наиболее запоминающейся является румынская композиция. "Люди будут либо обожать, либо ненавидеть ее, она "особенная". Выбор России мне кажется очень позитивным. Я думаю, что это - хороший месседж, что люди не должны сдаваться и должны следовать за своей мечтой вне зависимости от обстоятельств. Есть несколько песен, которые имеют современное "радио звучание", но я не уверен, хорошо ли это? Мне кажется, что наша "Spirit of the Night" не следует данному тренду. И меня это радует", говорит он. В то же время, Валентина добавляет, что песня Португалии - единственная, которая запала ей в сердце и душу, у нее хорошее звучание, она очень эмоциональна, и представляет личный стиль Валентины вне конкурса.

"Стиль, выбранный для сценического номера - концертный, простая хореография, но с определенной силой", объяснил глава делегации Алессандро Капиккьони.

"Мы - два духа ночи. Наш дуэт - дуэт черного с белым. Может быть, мы выставляем на конкурс и слегка старомодную песни, но черный голос в совмещении с фанковой исполнительницей, как я - это прекрасная комбинация", говорит Валентина Монетта.

"То, что я оказался здесь, в Сан-Марино - это судьба", прокомментировал Уилсон. "Я родом из Детройта, где, как оказалось, самое большое сообщество выходцев из Сан-Марино: ничего не происходит случайно".

Глава вещателя Карло Ромео также прокомментировал вопрос с запретом российской исполнительницы Юлии Самойловой. "Как государственный вещатель, мы не можем согласиться с этим поведением организаторов конкурса в Украине. Без разницы, заговор ли это или российская пропаганда - Евровидение должно оставаться нейтральной площадкой, которая выходит за рамки того, что происходит в мире, иначе он потеряет свое значение", сказал Ромео.

После вчерашнего интервью директора телевидения Сан-Марино Карло Ромео, ЕВС дал официальный ответ национальному вещателю этой страны, отвергнув предложения, сделанные им в прошлом ноябре.

Три изменения были предложены RTV San Marino, и наиболее важным из них было предложение симулировать телеголосование голосованием группы местных жителей. Телевещатель называет это чувствительной темой для RTV San Marino и поклонников конкурса Евровидение.

RTV поблагодарил ЕВС за ответ и отметил, что продолжить продвигать этот вопрос в будущем.

Сан-Марино представит дуэт, проинформировал генеральный директор канала Карло Ромео в интервью Eurofestival News. "Это был очень сложный год, и в конце-концов, мне кажется, что мы выбрали лучшее решение, с дуэтом иностранного и местного артиста, и я уверен, что это окажется положительным сюрпризом. Презентация его пройдет на этой неделе"

Ромео также заявил, что телевидение Сан-Марино не получило какого-либо ответа от ЕВС на предложение симулировать телеголосование страны специальной группой местных жителей. "Мы не получили ответа на это предложение, и очень жаль. Это было очень грамотное предложение, которое положило бы конец глупой и обидной дискриминации против Сан-Марино". Ромео также пожаловался на то, что якобы ЕВС в два раза увеличил сумму членского взноса для малых государств. 17го сентября телекомпания Сан-Марино выступила с предложением организовать в Республике Сан-Марино симуляцию национального телеголосования.

Осенью 2015 года были опубликованы новые правила конкурса Евровидение. В отличие от других стран, Сан-Марино получило право дать только 58 баллов из 116, поскольку в стране технически невозможно проведение телеголосования. Телевидение Сан-Марино немедленно выступило с протестом, поскольку данное решение было принято без обсуждения с ним. Во время Евровидения 2016 телеголосование Сан-Марино было заменено средним результатом телеголосования неких других стран-участниц, которые никогда не были названы, и эти баллы были добавлены к баллам от жюри Сан-Марино.

Недавно, телевидение Сан-Марино отправило в ЕВС полноценное предложение создания панели зрителей, которая бы получила право считаться телеголосованием зрителей страны. Это решение подразумевает, что телеголосование будет симулировано при помощи группы зрителей из Сан-Марино. Их голосование будет добавлено к голосованию жюри страны, и в итоге сформирует ее общий голос.

Зрительская панель будет составлена из обычных телезрителей, они могут быть как гражданами, так и просто жителями страны, или лицами, имеющими вид на жительство в ней. Этот выбор необходим для того, чтобы полностью симулировать национальную телеаудиторию. Панель будет выбрана сторонней независимой специализированной компанией и ее состав не будет известен телевидению Сан-Марино. Участникам панели будет предоставлено точно такое же время для голосования, как и зрителям остальной части Европы.

Предложенная модель вдохновлена способом, успешно применяемым в рамках фестиваля Сан-Ремо с 2013 года. "Статистически доказано, что результаты голосования в рамках такой модели отлично симулируют результаты голосования телезрителей", говорит Эдди Ансельми, историк и эксперт по фестивалю Сан-Ремо. "Если члены панели отобраны таким образом, что они отражают зрителей, итоги их голосования скорее всего будут подобны гипотетическому реальному телеголосованию, и, таким образом, будут представлять собой срез вкусов жителей Сан-Марино".

Генеральный директор телевидения Сан-Марино Карло Ромео очень доволен данным предложением. "Это сбалансированное решение, у которого практически нет отрицательных сторон. Мы надеемся получить положительный ответ от руководства конкурсу. Республика Сан-Марино заслуживает таких же прав, как и все другие участвующие страны".
