31 days to go to the Eurovision Song Contest. ORF.at correspondent Stefanie Klein has visited construction site in Wiener Stadthalle and met a variety of hard-working stuff. Despite the heavy workload, there is very relaxed mood among workers, who are perfectly working together a a team.

Entering the Wiener Stadthalle, one finds himself still on a construction site. At each corner something is hammered, glued and screwed. Hundreds of employees scurry through the aisles in every corner of the venue. Huge cranes and forklifts currently are operating inside the Hall D. Many employees have arrived specially for implementation of this major project in Vienna.

One of them is Dennis Drewen from 360 Grad company. He is Technical Set-up Coordinator and is responsible for the construction schedule. "I decide when builds what, so that no one gets in the way,", explains Drewen, who is well accustomed to such large scale events.

Andreas Ginsberg is responsible for image and video technology. It is the third Eurovision he works on.

Matthias Rau of the company PRG is a Project manager and is responsible for organizational matters. This includes not only the scheduling and the assignment of tasks to the crew, but ordering materials, organization of transport, etc. Although it is his eighth Song Contest, he finds the job still exciting: "It is simply the biggest TV event in Europe and can not be compared to any other show, ", said Rau. The three-week rehearsal period is exceptional. Normally he is working on several TV shows in Germany such as prizes and quiz shows.

One of the few ladies here is Sabine Tuma from EC Logistics. As Head of Event Logistics she is responsible for all supplies to the Stadthalle. "We need to control what is delivered if a truck is needed, and so on, " said Tuma. The biggest challenge according to her is to run on schedule, but so far there have been no problems, all trucks were on time.

Art director and set designer Matthias Kublik of Wiederdesign is already a veteran in his job. TV shows such as the MTV Europe Music Awards are part of his daily business. The planning phase is mainly design work for him. "You can compare our work with that of an architect, we design everything you here visually perceive," said Kublik. He is responsible not only for the appearance of the stage, but also of the LED screen. "Everything you will see on the wall, we make in consultation with the lighting designers," said Kublik. He also praises the good team spirit. "Everything is build extremely quickly, the most complex elements are ready".

Richard Gorrod in collaboration with lighting designer Al Gurdon makes sure that all lights are functioning well and on time. Englishman has already worked at ESC in Moscow and Oslo, as well as such large TV shows as the Super Bowl, concerts and awards shows. The opening of the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014 is also among his projects. The work on the lighting design is done with Gurdon via email. "Al is still in London, but he is coming to Vienna soon", said Gorrod.

Gottfried Grabner is technical director of TV production at ORF. "I'm responsible for ensuring that everyone get the right signals,", said Grabner. He make sure that the TV broadcast and voting announcement operate smoothly, also the commentators have to be properly connected. His next major project after Eurovision is the Olympics in Rio.

Remco Hek from Unbranded company is responsible for the entire set in the hall - which includes both the stelae construction as well as the stage itself and the Green Room. He is involved in the planning and the technical details. Hek is particularly proud of the stelae construction, "There are a total of 1,257 steles, 3.2 kilometers of pipe with a weight of 50 tons," the Dutchman says excitedly. For him, it is the first song contest and a great TV project. Also he never visited Vienna before but feels very comfortable here now.

Working area of John van Look is located directly under the roof of Stadthalle. He is responsible for the roof constructions, which all have been calculated throughout. Van Look enjoys stay in Vienna: "My wife is a musical artist and works here, which is fortunate," smiles the German.

Volker Suhre and Andreas Roese of the company ETC are responsible for the LED and video technology. "We make sure that the images come to the right place, and the special effects are one of our tasks,", said Suhre. It is their third song contest, otherwise they have been working with such shows as "The Voice," "The Super Talent" and "Germany's Next Top Model". Compared to other productions work in Vienna is much calmer and confident, they say.

Watch winning entry here and all entries here. Vienna Education Councillor Christian Oxonitsch says:

"All projects have been implemented with great commitment and enthusiasm into action. Therefore all Viennese students who have submitted their projects, are invited to the Song Contest Afternoon show on 20 May. The three highest ranked projects will be presented in a video form on the big song contest stage before the show. I thank all participants for their really great ideas and contributions. I am particularly pleased that the theme, Building Bridges' was linked by the students in their projects with diversity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence. This shows the great significance that these issues have in our schools"

Our next guests are representatives of Lithuania Vaidas Baumila and Monika Linkytė. As usual we start off with a question about their feeling of participation in the Eurovision Song Contest.

"The feeling is great. We are proud to be a part of a huge tradition that is Eurovision song contest. Specially this year as it is the 60th anniversary", says Vaidas. "Of course, both me and Vaidas are very happy to have such an opportunity. Our song is very positive, upbeat, so we hope to spread good emotions and to attract as many fans from Europe as possible with our good vibes. I also think, Vaidas will agree that after being selected to represent Lithuania in Eurovision we understood what a huge responsibility it is. We will represent our country, we will represent every single Lithuanian citizen, which is such a great honor", adds Monika.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 the duet will present song "This Time", which Vaidas describes as "lovely jubbly", and Monika as "A heart-warming, sweet love story that we will tell in three minutes". Vaidas tells the story of it's creation: "The composer Vytas Bikus and I we're writing it for our upcoming album, but we both agreed that it had that Eurovision feeling, thus it appeared as one of the entry songs". What happened next? Monika explains: "Eurovision preselection organizers had an idea, that it would be interesting to make a few duet numbers, when there were 6 members left. It turned out, that Edgaras Lubys paired up with Mia and I was offered to make a duet with Vaidas. I wasn't really considering the idea that much and just agreed. Actually, the first time we met in rehearsals, we thought we will sing another song. But when I was listening to Vaidas's song at home, I was just hearing a second voice in my head, when there was a chorus part. After the rehearsal, I just offered him to try out singing his song in a duet. There were no doubts in the end we made a right decision".

The duet assures that even if there still are going to be some changes brought in the song, they will not be much noticeable to the listeners. "I mean, don't worry, it'll stay the way you like it!", jokes Vaidas. The duet has also recorded few other language versions of the song. "We recorded the song in Lithuanian, because it is our mother tongue. Vytautas Bikus is the author of the lyrics. We also did a version in French, which is one of the main languages obviously. French is a very soft, tender and melodious language, it really suited the song. We got the text sent to us by one French guy, the next day we won the Eurovision selections. We also recorded an acoustic version of the song in English", says Monika. The music video for the entry has been released last week. "We're pretty much happy with what happened with the video. We wanted that cozy feeling to it, bringing it even closer to our fans and listeners. That's why we did it live. The idea itself was a result of a team brainstorm that involved the producers, the director Algina Navickaite and us two :)", says Vaidas.

At the Eurovision stage the duet will be joined by four backing vocalists - two males and two females. Monika introduces them: "All of them are very musical and they truly appreciate and love music. Ruta Zibaityte and Juste Kraujalyte were both in the same pop choir from their early days. Ruta, Dainotas Varnas and Jurijus Veklenko have attended The Voice of Lithuania too and all of them got to the finals". The duet has earlier asked both amateur and professional designers to submit proposals regarding the outfit for their stage performance. "We want our appearance to be warm, cozy and sweet, just as the first love is. We want to express this idea through our outfits too. We are happy that we can completely agree with the designers about the ideas, wishes and expectations. It might be a bit too early to discuss it in details", says Monika.

The aim in the international contest for the duet members is slightly different. Monika says with a smile they are coming there for the victory, while Vaidas laughs off saying that his aim is to "consume as many Austrian strudels as I can! With custard. Don't forget the custard!". The duet has already been to the Eurovision Pre-Party Riga and is heading to Amsterdam later this week. "We think that we would rather spend the time rehearsing than representing ourselves in different European countries", says Monika. The duet has also dropped a surprise visit to Berlin, and Vaidas reveals the secret: "Yes we had a new in-ear system made specially for us. That is definitely going to make the singing easier and more comfortable". Monika says that so far she has watched only entries from other Baltic countries and those ones who were present at Riga Party, and thinks the contestants are very strong this year. Vaidas totally agrees: "The songs are really strong this year. Can't tell which is my favorite yet". It is 6th time in Eurovision preselections for Monika, so she says she has a large selection of previous songs she liked. "I really liked and still like my song, that I submitted for preselections - "Skestu" ("Sinking") It is a song in Lithuanian, it is electronic music that had a hint of drum n bass in it", she explains. "Well this was only my second year so there's not a lot I can choose from. :) I kinda really liked my last years song - "Dying", says Vaidas.

Vaidas has recently released a new album and Monika is preparing one too. "At the moment, besides getting ready for Eurovision I spend a lot of my time in a recording studio, because my first debut album is out now. It will be a very fresh sound, tender electronics mixed with live instrumentals. I am happy to be working with one of the best music producers in Lithuania- Leon Somov. Jazzu, who is undoubtedly one of the brightest Lithuanian singers, is also contributing". In regards to the possibility of recording more duets together, they promise they will consider it after Eurovision for sure.

Monika Linkytė: "I wish everyone to love and appreciate music. It understands us and heals our souls"
Vaidas Baumila: "Hope you like the song :) hope it puts a smile on your face. If that's the case, then you know who to vote for ;)"

Our next guest is the representative of Germany Ann Sophie. As usual, we start off our interview with the question about her feelings towards Eurovision journey.

"It is very exciting, of course! Being part of such a big international contest is definitely a challenge and a wonderful opportunity for any artist"

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 Ann Sophie will be performing song "Black Smoke", which she describes as "Two hearts burned up from love, two people are left with nothing but Black Smoke - heart-breaking yet up-building, challenging and a power song! The song was a suggestion from my label and they seem to pretty much know what I like ! ;) When I first heard it, I pressed the replay button for about 10 times. I could not get enough… I love that song!", singer says.

For the second year the German final winner is an artist qualifying from the Club concert wildcard show. Well, almost. "I was voted second at the German preselection and therefore rationally, I am not the winner. Still, I got voted into the finale which was super exciting by itself - thinking of the fact that nobody knew me before, people liked "Black Smoke" and our performance, which makes me really happy. I do not think there is any explanation…except for the fact that people just vote for who they like". At the wildcard concert she had performed another track, "Jump The Gun" - "It is also a very cool song, with a great grove. "Black Smoke" on the other hand has always been my personal favorite!". Ann Sophie says she would love to record different versions of her entry, but unfortunately right now the time is limited. "I would love a Black Smoke Remix! DJs get crazy please!!! I would definitely be open to sing that song in various other languages! I love different languages and that would be a great challenge!"

German entrant says that her stage performance in Vienna will be similar to the one she had at the national final - "I think there is no need for any big distractions. "Black Smoke" is not really a dance song, so there is no reason to put up a big show. I think "Black Smoke" is more powerful when the show is kept quite simple. Sometimes less is more!. Ann Sophie will be accompanied on Eurovision stage by four female backing vocalists - Bibi, Kayna, Giovanna and Lan. "It is great that they are coming with me. In the past few weeks I met so many people and new faces, and therefore it is even better to sometimes have a few faces and personalities you already know and are connected to! All of them are very strong, independent women, which I like. We always have a lot to laugh about and a good time!".

Preparations are entering in the active phase. "Taking it day by day really helps. Sometimes I do not know where my head is, because so many things are happening. It’s best to stay calm and focused, relax and exercise when you can…to be able to just enjoy the ride", Ann Sophie explains. Besides Eurovision she is preparing a debut album to be released on 24th of April. "I am so excited..!! You can be really excited for the album as well. It is called „Silver Into Gold“ and we had two weeks to record and produce it! It was crazy, yet so much fun!".

At the same time, singer says that she tries not to focus that much on competitive side of the contest. "Gladly I am so packed with interviews, shows etc that I do not have time to get too nervous. I realize that it is not in my hands - I can make the best performance and still not get voted as the favourite - it depends on so many factors that I cannot control. It would still be wonderful, if I would make the Top 10. Yet, I do not want to get my hopes up!". She has heard other participating entries already, but wouldn't like to mention anyone, just yet. "Getting to know the artist behind the song is important and has a true impact on the song.

Ann Sophie thinks that pre-contest promotion is important, and is looking forward visiting some other European countries prior to the finals. "For now only Germany really knows me and I am so excited to meet the other countries as well. As I was born in London, I am really excited to what the UK thinks. But everyone is important! I will travel to Amsterdam, London and I think that’s it for now. We will see, what other countries are coming up as well!".

"Thank You" to everyone for taking your time to read the interview. I believe you must be so excited as well and are already planning out your night on the 23rd of May. I hope I can give you a great performance you will enjoy and I hope you will have a great time watching the whole contest! See you there!!

"I am me, when I am music". Ann Sophie

Austrian Airlines, Microsoft, OSRAM, Österreich Werbung (Austria Advertising) and Österreichische Post (Austrian Post) are the international sponsors of this year's "Eurovision Song Contest". They all support the ESC 2015, as "Official Carrier", "Technology Partner", "Official Lighting Partner" or "Official Partner" getting the chance to present themselves on the international stage as a partner of the "Eurovision Song Contest" and advertise the ESC brand worldwide in conjunction with their own.

Austrian Airlines has offered delegations of the participating countries and press special rates for flights during the Eurovision period. Microsoft is not only equipping volunteers with Lumia smartphones, but also the press in Wiener Stadthalle with the necessary hardware (Surface tablets and Xbox laptops), provides technical support for the TV production and redevelops Eurovision "second screen" app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. OSRAM controls most of the lighting on the Eurovision stage and operates "Lightify" app to be used by people attending public viewing in Eurovillage as voting program. Österreich Werbung is working on branding and among other things has prepared the most beautiful pictures from all nine provinces of Austria, represented in the press center of the Stadthalle. Österreichische Post has designed "Pigeonholes" for 1700 accredited journalists, redesigned several thousands mailboxes in Austria with Eurovision design and will set up a special post office in Stadthalle.

Construction works are rapidly processing in the Viennese venue Wiener Stadthalle. Here is the latest photo update from ORF team:

The process is being contolled by Stefan Wöber, head of production / line producer of the ORF song contest-team and Remco Hek, project manager ESC 2015 of the company Unbranded, which is responsible for the construction of the stage.

Numerous tubes symbolize participating nations. A 26 metre wide LED screen will provide the correct effect for all the performances. Construction of Green Room has also been started.

OSRAM was announced today as the Official Lighting Partner of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. "We are very glad to announce our partnership with OSRAM today as with their contribution to the show lighting the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is set to be once again a unique, state-of-the-art production," says Jon Ola Sand, Executive Supervisor on behalf of the EBU"

As the Official Lighting Partner of the Eurovision Song Contest, OSRAM has been granted extensive global association, event, media and new media rights for the upcoming events in Austria. OSRAM is contributing the majority of the entertainment lighting. In particular, this includes show lighting from our OSRAM subsidiary Clay Paky which will make the Eurovision Song Contest and its stars a glorious spectacle for the eyes. The products from the Italian event lighting specialist, which has an outstanding reputation in the international entertainment industry and has provided lighting for shows by such legends as Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams, will be in use in the Vienna Stadthalle not only in the final but also in the semi-finals.

"We transform the largest entertainment spectacle in the world into the largest lighting technology event with our light systems," commented Hans-Joachim Schwabe, CEO of OSRAM Specialty Lighting. "We want to turn the show into a really unforgettable event for the audience."

As we have already reported yesterday, Osram will also be presenting Lightify app (Android, iTunes). Up to 20,000 visitors are expected in the "Eurovision Village" at the Rathausplatz in the center of the city in the evenings to view the contest on huge screens. On a smartphone app they can try out the lighting control option in a unique way by using the app to to “vote” and show support for each of the contestants during the final shows on a scale from one to twelve. The results of the voting will be translated into a color and the Rathausplatz will then be bathed in light of this color. Red light signifies maximum points, and blue toward the other end of the spectrum indicates one point.

"The ESC is the ideal platform for Lightify. Young people can use light to boost the excitement of a major event and add another emotional layer", said Timon Rupp, Head of the Lightify Innoventure at OSRAM. "In this way, OSRAM and Lightify provide impressive confirmation of the company's powers of innovation."

The city has given us one of the largest squares, one of it's most beautiful places and as host broadcaster, we designed together with our partners a comprehensive program. It is a feast for all the people of Vienna, guests of the city, artists, delegations and international media representatives, that should convey the feeling of the Eurovision Song Contest to the City"

A first ESC 2015 highlight is on Sunday 17th May - a 200 meters long Red Carpet at Rathausplatz followed by the official opening reception by the Mayor of Vienna. The entrance of delegations will start at 18.00 CET. Vienna City Marketing Managing Director Barbara Forsthuber says: "We are proud to see on this day all artists and delegates coming together to the Town Hall Square and the Vienna City Hall. This is a special challenge for the organizers to set up, because the day before the Life Ball takes place on the same location"

International and national media, official fan clubs and of course enthusiastic ESC fans from Vienna and Austria and abroad will get the only chance to see all the participating representatives at the same time. Over a 200 meter long red carpet, extending from the Ring to inside near the stage of the Life Ball to the Volkshalle of Vienna City Hall during two hours procedure, all delegations will move in to the Welcome reception, giving short interviews to the press on their way and greeting fans. After Red Carpet, they will be greeted by Vienna Mayor Michael Häupl. For reasons of limited space capacity, it will not be possible for fans and journalists to participate in this final part of the Opening Ceremony. For them starting at 20:00 the Euroclub will open its doors in the Ottakringer Brewery. The artists and the members of the delegations, will also be escorted to the Euroclub after Welcome Reception to become part of a big "Welcome to Austria" party hosted by the Austrian delegation.

Photo:ORF/Agentur grasl&partner The "Hello Vienna. Welcome Europe!" framework programme was developed by Martin Brezovich, Emanuel Grasl and Wolfgang Peterlik. Martin Brezovich: "Europe is coming together. We want the City Hall Square to be at a festive location for all participating countries to demonstrate their diversity - which will of course also include culinary highlights". The event program for the Eurovillage was set up by Thomas Schmidle, the side-events manager in the ESC-Event Team of the ORF. "For the 60th anniversary, we have to come up with some interesting highlights - including public viewing of live shows, and special programs devoted to the two Austrian Eurovision winners Udo Jürgens and Conchita Wurst".

Our next guest is the representative of Albania Elhaida Dani. As usual, we start off with asking what are her feelings about upcoming Eurovision participation.

"I am very excited to represent my country in Eurovision. It's left only a month of time now and if I want to be honest I'm a little bit afraid, but can't wait to be in Vienna and sing my heart out on stage"

It wasn't the first time Elhaida competed in "Festivali i Kenges", but after gaining experience and popularity through "The Voice of Italy", she thinks that finally it was the right moment to become part of the big Eurovision Song Contest event. Not everything though went right after the victory in the festival. "I learned in late February that the song "Diell" with which I competed at the national preselection and won with, was withdrawn by songwriter and wasn't going to the ESC anymore, and at the time I thought that neither I myself will be going to be part of Eurovision. But then the director of the FiK called to let me know that I still have the possibility to start creating a new song for the contest, and of course I was very happy to know that".

The work for the song "Diell" was discontinued, but Elhaida managed to get a new track ready in time. Now she will be competing at Eurovision with "I'm Alive", which she describes as "strong and emotional song. What I really wanted from the beginning. As soon as I knew that I wont be able to go to Eurovision with the song Diell I started looking for a new song. My brother talked me about these two young composers, ZzapnChriss, and the very next day I was in Kosovo, and started creating and recording the new song immediately". Elhaida informs that the Albanian version of the song is already ready, and the video will be released in May and they are still working on an Italian version of the song.

Speaking on the staging of her performance for Vienna, Elhaida says: "We are still working on the staging, with the Rtsh and Provideo. I want to keep it simple but strong". On the stage she will be joined by Olsa Papandili and Erga Halilaj, same backing vocalists who performed with Hersi Matmuja last year. "Miranda Dubi is the stylist who created the look for the music video of "I'm alive", and she will be taking care of my look in Eurovision too". Music video for the contest entry has been already presented and Elhaida says "We wanted to keep the video simple but still giving a good message. In the video you see sad woman as a policegirl, firegirl, doctor, but at the end of the video their tears go in forward, because they are strong and don't cry".

Albanian entrant stays that her aim at the international contest is first of all "to enjoy the big stage and have fun". Next week she will be making her appearance at the Eurovision In Concert in Amsterdam, she will also visit Athens, Hungary and several other countries in her promotional tour. "I've heard already a lot of the other countries songs, I can say that all the songs and artists are very good and it will be a pleasure to be sharing the stage with them".

Currently, Elhaida is also serving as the coach of Talent Show "Chance" aired on the Italian Television "Agon Channel". "It is a very good experience because it is the first time that I am at the other part of the medal, being a judge and not being a contestant. Also I'm working on a new song that will be released after Eurovision". Besides Italian version of "I'm Alive" and a new song Italian fans can expect a summer tour of Elhaida Dani in their country.

"I want to thank everybody for the support and the messages. Hope to meet you in Vienna this May. ❤ "

Our next guest is powerful representative of Malta Amber. As usual, we start off with what feelings participation in Eurovision has brought to her?

"I feel great. It's an absolute honour to be representing Malta. I can't wait to go to Vienna and start building bridges!"

At the Eurovision Amber will be performing song "Warrior", which she describes as "an inspirational song about finding inner strength to overcome the difficulties we face in life". It was written specially for the singer by who she calls "a fantastic duo" – Elton Zarb and Matt Muxu Mercieca - who won Junior Eurovision in 2013 with The Start. Amber has been taking part in the national preselection since 2011. "They decided to let me win so that I would stop coming back year after year!", she jokes. "Seriously, I think I won this year because I have such a brilliant song. Warrior is very powerful".

The song has undergone through some changes after the national final. "We all sat down and said “can we make this even better?” and the consensus was that we could and we should. I think it sounds better than ever but it's for the audience to decide". Amber thinks it would be a great idea to record some other song versions, but is unsure if she will have time for that.

Speaking about staging of her entry for the international competition, she says: "It's almost finalised, but the plan is to avoid gimmicks and keep things simple. The song is the star". She can't name those joining her on the stage yet, joking "I was thinking of inviting five friends along to enjoy the experience with me but I don't think the producers would like that". Will her stage performance implement some ideas from the music video? "We did a lot of smashing things up on the video. Could I get away with that in Vienna?".

Amber defines her aim for Eurovision simply as "to give the best performance I can". Prior to the contest she will be visiting some European countries with promo. "I believe pre-contest promotion is a good idea but I am a student and I have to keep my studies up at the same time. I have to sit for an exam as soon as I come back and then when it's over I will celebrate my birthday too". She also hopes to use her experience from taking part in Eurovision 2012 in Baku. "It was a fantastic experience, being second singer to Kurt Calleja in 2012. I learnt to take it all in my stride, enjoy making new friends and give a confident performance. That's what I shall do again in Vienna".

Maltese singer has already listened to the entries of other competitors. "There are so many good songs. I love Spain's and Russia's. The song from Cyprus is quite different and Sweden's is one to watch. I expect I'll soon fall in love with a few more". On 18 April Amber will be doing a big concert in Malta. "It's a chance for me to get the full stage experience before I go to Vienna. And I hope it's the start of a new adventure because I would love to do concerts across Europe", she says. Can we expect an album from her shortly? "One step at a time, but I'd love to get a recording contract after Eurovision".

"I send big kisses to all Eurovision fans. You are the best. I hope you like Warrior and will vote for Malta in the second semi-final. And don't forget to follow us on facebook.com/EurovisionSongMalta"

Moscow Liaison Office of the Vienna City Hall / COMPRESS Moscow have organized annual Viennese evening, which this year was held under the motto: "Eurovision - Vienna: Quality of Life - 12 points". Before the start of the evening, during a special press conference Martin Biedermann, Director of Public Relations of ORF spoke about preparations of the broadcaster for the organization of the show. The press conference was also attended by a representative of Russia at "Eurovision 2015" Polina Gagarina, head of Russian delegation Yuri Aksyuta and the representatives of Austria - The Makemakes. ESCKAZ.com, as the largest independent Russian-language Eurovision related website, received an invitation to attend the event and took the opportunity to ask some questions to the participants.

First of all, ESCKAZ.com was interested in the details of the Russian preselection for the biggest musical show of Europe. Answering question of the site, head of the Russian delegation Yuri Aksyuta has stressed on the right of the national broadcaster to select representative internally, thus taking complete responsibility for that artist. "There are own positive elements in an open national preselection, of course. Moreover, EBU reference group, which is responsible for regulations of Eurovision recommends every broadcaster to organize either open preselection of the participant, or the selection of the song. However, when there is no opportunity to run the selection of a level of Melodifestivalen in Sweden, which is popular there than Eurovision itself, then it will be some sort of profanity, and thus the best and most correct way is to implement the internal selection "

"We understand that in Europe there is difficult, uneasy situation that awaits us. Some viewers can really boo, when our country is announced, it is totally unclear how it will be. Therefore, we first of all wanted to convey to Europeans a simple idea, a simple truth. We analyzed the songs we have been offered for Eurovision, they come to us every year, even despite the fact that we have not formally announced the acceptance of applications. We have already developed a very broad database of artists, musicians, managers who are most actively involved and interested in the Eurovision process. And when there appeared a song that we all were interested in, we began to look for the suitable singer for it. And then as the conductor of the truth that we want to convey, we chose Polina Gagarina, because she is simple, sincere woman, there is no falsehood, and she will be able to say everything that we want to express "

"A Million Voices reveals my vocal and dramatic possibilities, brings important for me messages of love and light, I am more than happy with the choice. The song is already liked by people, it is liked by many Russians, I sing it as part of my tour now, and I hope that Europe will echo the same feelings - and because of that I believe that we stand a good chance. I am a very ambitious person, I think it is clear through my career. I'm going to Eurovision for the win, but I'm taking it adequately, and I understand that this does not depend on me. I am not a prophet, nor fortuneteller, I do not know what will happen. I am totally apolitical person and politics for me is a dark forest. The only thing I can do in my life, that I understand well - is to sing, to act. Therefore, first of all, I'm going to Eurovision in order to improve and develop my own self. Eurovision - is a huge challenge for me, because I'm going to fight with myself, with my own nerves, emotions, I would like to send them in the right direction and perform more than simply well. And I'm going to impress the European audience with the same things that I have been impressing the audience in Russia for the last ten years, I run a sold-out tour now, so I think that I have something in myself to impress. The main thing is that the artist is united with the song - and in our case it is so, ", told Eurovision participant Polina Gagarina during the press conference.

Russian delegation has no plans for any special pre-contest promotion this year. "We decided to concentrate on the main thing, that is, the stage performance. We ourselves do not plan to go to the promotional tour, or to conduct any activities in Vienna including organization of Russian party, but if we are invited somewhere, we will of course consider the invitation", answered Aksyuta question of ESCKAZ.com. "In the stage performance we will use all the technical possibilities offered by the stage of this year: computer graphics, dynamic lights, that will be administered by one of the world's best light designers around the world Al Gurdon. We expect a colorful, bright and beautiful show in which Polina's performance will not stand out, but will fit very nicely into the context. A little secret we can reveal: the idea of the eye, the shape of the stage, will also be used". "My image will remain clear and bright, so I hope my dress will be white as well, but what it will be - whether it will be a product of some well-know designer, or some special transformer, we have not decided yet. We already know the technical capabilities of the stage, and we have in the development two or three possible ideas of the performance", added Polina Gagarina.

Yuri Aksyuta, who admits himself being the Eurovision fan, says that Eurovision enjoys a huge popularity in Russia, TV ratings of the show are sky high. In accordance to the interest, Channel One plans a number of programs and special broadcasts dedicated both to the representative of Russia, and to the contest in general. "We will have a special program dedicated to Polina and Eurovision, and we will also speak there about the participants from other countries showing interesting moments of their songs. Polina will also visit almost all programs of the Channel One. And most importantly, during the two weeks in Vienna, there will be present two filming crews of the broadcaster - News program "Vremya" and morning show "Dobroye utro", which will prepare a lot of short stories, we will try to report on everything interesting that will happen in Vienna during the contest "

ESCKAZ had the opportunity to meet The Makemakes from Austria on their visit to Moscow as part of "Vienna 12 Points" campaign.

The Makemakes are a band from the Salzkammergut. "We're living on a beautiful landscape between mountains and lakes and rivers, so we're really down to Earth guys, we also like to party and the most things we like are music and women". Their music is a good mixture of Soul, Pop & Rock’n’Roll. "The fact that we are best friends since years unites us in a band", say the performers. The unusual title of the band is explained with astronomy: "When you are standing at a very special spot in our hometown and you look to the south – you can see a shining little star, a dwarf planet called MAKEMAKE!".

At the Eurovision 2015 The Makemakes will be performing "I Am Yours", which they define as an ode to friendship. The song was born during song-writing camp set by Austrian broadcaster ORF for all the participants of the national selection. "Jamming, delicious white wine and a cool guy called Jimmy Harry were an inspiring combination". Two songs were created at the camp, with second being "Big Bang", yet the mentors of the competition have decided to leave "I'm Yours" in the running: "We love both songs but we also think that "I Am Yours" is a good choice for the ESC".

After the national final "I Am Yours" has been compared with Coldplay's "The Scientist", however, ORF has declared that result of expert analysis has concluded that there is no plagiarism between the songs. The Makemakes also agree it is is no disgrace to sound somewhat is style of Coldplay: "There are definitely worse things than being compared with Coldplay!". The band has no plans to bring any changes in the song: "We definitely will not change anything – the song is great the way it is!", they say. The band says they would love to hear a trap remix of their entry, if some DJ can offer them to do it.

Speaking about the international show, the Makemakes are really looking forward to Eurovision, and are enjoying their preparation period and the promotional tour that takes them to 9 European countries. They have already visited Slovenia, Hungary, and after Russia it is Serbia, Romania, Czech Republic and Estonia, as well as Eurovision parties in Amsterdam and London. Meanwile, the band also will have several gigs on Austrian soil: Klagenfurt, Graz, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Vienna and Telfs. The debut album of the band will be released in May, and will have all kinds of influences from Billy Withers to Jimi Hendrix to Michael Jackson to Thin Lizzy. "Stay excited!", they say.

"We plan to light up the whole stage. May be we will even burn it, well just kidding. Some people wanted us to do dance moves, some people wanted us to do big light show, but we don't need that, we want just music and nothing else, we're still thinking about it. On stage we often do some more musicians doing the stuff that I'm recording alone in the studio. We also often take three backings singers with us, who also play instruments: organ, piano and tambourine. So we will be using backing singers at Eurovision as well"

The Makemakes add they are excited to listen to the songs of the other countries, but haven't much time to do it. "Today I've heard Russian song, it's really well produced and singer is looking really hot. One of my other favourites is Finland. I think that we can be quite in the top, but can't say for sure", says Dodo Muhrer.

"We are really looking forward to the ESC. For more Information about The Makemakes – follow us at Facebook and Instagram"

Based on the success of the Building Bridges photo action, creativity is now in demand. Host broadcaster of this year’s contest, ORF is looking for original video connections between two people in different countries. Just a mobile phone camera and basic video skills is enough to build a virtual bridge. The best and most creative entries will be selected by the editors and broadcast in the Final of the Song Contest!

Contact friends or acquaintances abroad you’d like to "build bridges" with. Do you share an idea for a video? Or connect with someone who already has the first part of a ‘video bridge’ out.
Film the first part - ideally before a typical background, like a tourist attraction, in the mountains or at the sea.
Ask your partner to continue the video - and try to find perfect connecting points!
Load the uncompressed videos (both parts separately) onto the ORF platform video.ORF.at and enter all of your contact details.

For the videos to be used in the Song Contest show, please note some technical details:
Film your entry in the best possible quality of your mobile phone or your camera (ideally, Full HD 1920 x 1080, 16:9)
Avoid pans and moving around; film your "video bridge" as much as possible without camera movements.
Leave about ten seconds of buffer time at the beginning and at the end of all videos.
Do not use additional background music. Send the video directly from your phone to video.ORF.at or transfer the finished files from your phone or via cable from the camera to the computer.
Please do not use apps as often they reduce the quality of the videos automatically.
To check, you can assemble both videos into a finished "video bridge" – but for submission it‘s not necessary.

Last day to send your videos is the 30th of April. Have fun building bridges. Be creative!

A journey from Vorarlberg to Vienna will be shown, currently being produced in each region of the country at different locations. ORF television director Kathrin Zechner says:

"The Vienna Philharmonic will open the Grand Final of ESC 2015 at the Garden of Schönbrunn Palace with music by Mozart and Beethoven. 200 million viewers then will travel through the most beautiful cities and landscapes of Austria. The "sphere" theme accompanies this trip for which was specially composed intro music by David Bronner. The opening with the world famous Philharmonic leads to the unity of hundreds of people in Austria, young and old, forming circles and spheres as a sign of peaceful connection. The end of the journey through our homeland is also the beginning of the world's largest music show. Kugel (The Sphere), symbol of this year's ESC, will come floating through the roof of the Stadhalle and will open the show with a musical quotation from Udo Jürgens 'Merci Cherie'"

Everything revolves around the Sphere: "Kugel" is the central element of the ESC-2015 logo and artwork. And this element is also a central component of the Opening of the grand final. On a trip through Austria, which begins in Vorarlberg and ends at the Wiener Stadthalle, the sphere will appear in different forms and settings - from people circle with pyrotechnics to oversized glass beads - running like a thread through the most beautiful locations of the country.

Это уже третье их Евровидение, а помимо него они работали с такими шоу, как "The Voice", "The Super Talent" и "Germany's Next Top Model".

OSRAM Clay Paky.

"Österreichische Post" - официальный партнер конкурса Евровидение 2015 выпустил иллюстрированную книгу "60 Years of Eurovision Song Contest".

"Hello Vienna. Welcome Europe!!" "Hello Vienna. Welcome Europe!"

Welcome Europe!"

Welcome Europe!"

"Миранда Дуби - стилист, которая создавала мой образ для видеоклипа на песню "I'm alive", также будет работать над моим имиджем и на сцене Евровидения".

И не забывайте следить за нашими новостями на facebook.com/EurovisionSongMalta"

Vienna Card.
