Eleni Foureira (Ελένη Φουρέιρα) was born on 7 March 1987 in Fier, Albania. When Foureira was young, the family left Albania and settled in Greece due to the civil war in the country. Growing up in Athens, her dream was to become a singer. She did guitar lessons and spent three years with the theater. She studied modeling and designing clothes. Subconsciously, however, she always knew that she can only express herself in the song and this is what she wants to work on in her life. At the age of 18 she finally started singing and only a year later she had received the proposal from Vassilis Kontopoulos and Andreas Giatrakos to form, together with Maria Makri and Alkmini Chatzigianni, a pop band. It was the Mystique where she made her first serious professional steps in the field of singing, which, she says, proved to be very important for the development of her career, giving her the skills and experience. Their first single "Se alli selida" released in 2007, on lyrics by Vicky Gerothodorou and Kostas Kyfonides, became a radio success. It was followed by the release of their first full-length studio album titled "Mazí". After very good collaborations of Mystique with great songwriters, among them Nikos Vertis, Stamatis Gonidis, Nikos Makropoulos and Panos Kiamos, and after a very successful hit with NEVMA "Min káneis pos den thymásai" in 2009 Eleni dynamically continued her solo career.
In February 2010 she took part in the Greek Eurovision preselection final with the song "Kivotos tou Noe" in duet with Manos Pyrovolakis, finishing second behind Giorgos Alkaios. Her first steps in the music industry were done with an explosive duet with Thirio, titled "Mia nýchta móno", which was released on his album titled "Párta óla" and was visualized by Vangelis Tsousousopoulos. With a show-off at the MAD Video Music Awards in May 2010, she gets the spotlight and her duo with Dan Balan "Chica Bomb" becomes a great success.In November 2010 she participates in the Mega charity show "Just the 2 of Us" on Mega Channel along with Panagiotis Petrakis, where they win the top spot among 12 couples. In December she released her first full selftitled album with Universal Music Greece. In less than 2 months it becomes platinum. This album featured the hit "To cho", which was visualized by Konstantinos Rigos, another hit "Ase me" and the duet with Panagiotis Petrakis "Simádia". There were several great collaborations with great names in the field, such as Vassilis Karras, Angeliki Eliades, Giorgos Giannias, Christos Holidis and Paola. Foureira appears on Anodos Stage with Natasa Theodoridou, Costas Martakis and Elias Brettos.
Her second album "Ti poniro mou zitas" was released with Minos EMI in 2012, followed by "Anemos agapis" in 2014. In 2013, as guest she performed Eurovision 2004 winning entry "Wild Dances" in duet with Ruslana at Eurosong 2013 – a MAD show, Greek Eurovision preselection. Foureira attempted to get to the Eurovision several times in the following years - but was unable to reach the deal with the national broadcaster. From 2015 to 2016, she starred as Sofia in the musical Barbarella: the 80's Musical in Athens, alongside other Greek pop stars such as Ivi Adamou and Katy Garbi.Fourth album of the singer "Vasilissa" was released on Panik Records in 2017. Foureira also was a judge on season three of the Greek version of So You Think You Can Dance.

On 1 February the CyBC announced that Cyprus will be represented at the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest, to take place in Lisbon this coming May, by the popular singer in Cyprus and Greece Eleni Foureira who is represented by Panik Records. Foureira will perform song Fuego by the distinguished composer Alex Papaconstantinou (Alex P.) The staging of her entry has been assigned to the internationally acclaimed artistic director and choreographer Sacha Jean-Baptiste. Recall that in recent years, Jean-Baptiste worked on the stagings of Georgia, Lithuania, 2015, Cyprus, Armenia, Georgia 2016, Georgia, Australia, Armenia and Bulgaria 2017. Costas Contantinou and Vaso Komninou will be Cypriot commentators of the contest. 
Alex Papaconstantinou aka Alex P is a Swedish-Greek songwriter and producer based in Stockholm, Sweden. After being in the business for over 20 years, Alex has written songs for artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias and Marc Anthony including his number one hit Vivir Mi Vida. He is also a part of the successful music collective VAX. This is the fourth time Alex is participating in the Eurovision Song Contest. His previous entries include Always (Azerbaijan 2009), Yassou Maria (Greece 2007) and La La Love (Cyprus 2012). Geraldo Sandell aka Teddy Sky is a Brazilian-Swedish songwriter currently based in Los Angeles. He’s part of music collective VAX and the writer behind songs like On The Floor by Jennifer Lopez, and Don’t Worry by Madcon.
Anderz Wrethov is a multi-platinum songwriter and producer from Sweden. After graduating at the age of 22 from the Academy of Music, where Wrethov had studied guitar, piano and song, he got his first breakthrough as a producer and songwriter. Wrethov began his international career with several hit songs in Scandinavia, UK and Germany as a result. Later he established his name in Japan and South Korea by writing for the biggest J and K-pop stars, generating huge record sales and earning him several gold and platinum awards.Viktor Svensson aka Victory is a Swedish producer and songwriter who is part of the music collective VAX. He has written songs for Jennifer Lopez, Margaret, Ivi Adamou representing Cyprus for Eurovision Song Contest in 2012.
Didrick is a 23 year old multi-platinum producer from Linköping, Sweden. Producing a wide range of genres, from pop to urban and alternative music, he just moved to Los Angeles to take the next step in his musical journey.

In an interview to the morning show of Epsilon channel, Eleni Foureira has confirmed there will be 4 female dancers joining her on stage (with two of them also being backing vocalists) and off stage singer Teddy Sky. The stage performance will be different from the one in the music video. Outfit for the performance will be designed by Vrettos Vrettakos and it will be neither a bodysuit, nor a dress.
Foureira also revealed there's ongoing work to record Fuego in other languages. Yannis Poulopoulos, during the show "Sti folia ton Kou Kou" reported that Eleni Foureira will not be alone on stage: "She will have four dancers singing and dancing with her. Something similar we had seen in 2003 with Sertab, " he said. Regarding the choice of the outfits, entertainment reporter mentioned: "It will literally shine through the garment that Brett Vrettak is preparing for. She will have a lot of rhinestones, and those who have seen her have said she is the most expensive outfit she wore in her singer's career. It's going to reminisce the Avatar as it's going to make a lot of her body, ".
Eleni Foureira travelled to Lisbon to record her postcard and visited Mercado da Ribeira, one of the most emblematic markets of the capital. After shopping in the market, she had the opportunity to cook with chef Justa Nobre. At the end of the experiment, the singer shared her impressions:
"The recording of the Cypriot postcard gave me a first taste (literally!) of Portugal and Lisbon. I had the opportunity to get acquainted with Portuguese cuisine and bring my "Fuego" to the kitchen, next to an incredible chef! I want to thank all the hospitality and enthusiasm and I look forward returning in May!"
Press-conference of Eleni Foureira organized by her label Panik Records was held in "Cyprus House" in Athens. It was attended by head of Cypriot delegation Evi Papamichael, director of CyBC Michalis Marathefti and PR representative of Panik Records Georgios Arsenakis. Cypriot entry has been described at the press-conference as dynamic, dance, modern but with ethnic elements, in particular clarinet. According to Papamichael, the combination of Eleni and Alex P is enchanting and they are ready to rally Eurovision with Fuego.
Eleni herself stressed that she would give her best on the Eurovision stage and what she is hoping for is that this year's entry will remain unforgettable regardless of ranking position. She spoke warmly about composer Alex P and choreographer Sacha Jean-Baptiste who will work with her performance. Song is expected to be presented in late February with the corresponding music video.

On 15 September, Cypriot broadcaster Radiofonikó Ídryma Kýprou (RIK/СyBC) has confirmed that the Cypriot entry for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest will be composed by Alex Papaconstantinou, also known as Alex P. Multiple award-winning producer, musician and songwriter, Alexander "Alex P" Papaconstantinou has become one of the most sought after songwriters and producers in the recording industry. The half-Greek half-Swedish producer is based in Stockholm. Alongside writing and producing for international artists, he also manages his own label and publishing company. He is a member of the collective music project VAX that are currently climbing the charts in Europe and USA. He co-wrote Marc Anthony's Grammy Award-winning and Latin Billboard #1 song 'Vivir Mi Vida', the #1 Billboard Dance/Club song 'I Like How It Feels' by Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez's hit single 'Live It Up'.Alex is no stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest. He wrote and produced Always (Azerbaijan 2009), Yassou Maria (Greece 2007) and La La Love (Cyprus 2012). He has also worked with prominent and best-selling international recording artists, including Mexican pop star Paulina Rubio, Greek pop stars such as Anna Vissi, Elena Paparizou, platinum-certified Australian artist DJ Havana Brown.
The act that will perform Alex's composition, and represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2018, will be chosen in a live television show which will take place in January. The national selection is open to all Cypriot citizens or people of Cypriot origin. Entries could have been submitted until 20 October 2017 to the following email address: cypruseurovision2018@cybc.com.cy with attachment of The Solemn Declaration A' on the personal information of the performer, certified by an official Authority, The Solemn Declaration B' of the performer that he/she accepts unconditionally all the terms of participation, A Curriculum Vitae and 2 photographs, A video with acapella/live interpretation of up to three different types of songs in a form of private Youtube links.
First jury selection took place on 24 November and involved stage director / choreographer Charis Savvas besides him, songwriter of the future Eurovision entry Alex Papaconstantinou and Schlagergeneralen Christer Björkman who considered around 60 applications. 24 best candidates were invited to the live auditions not broadcast on TV. Only 4-5 performers selected at the end of the second selection phase will compete in the big final to be broadcast live by CyBC TV. In the Final Contest, the contestants will perform cover songs to be assigned to them by CyBC. The winner will be selected by a jury nominated by CyBC and by the television audience through telecasting. The Eurovision entry will be prepared by Alex P. especially for the winner of the preselection. In the event that the performers have a record label commitment, they should proceed to make a special arrangement with their own record company that during the period of December 2017 – May 2018, CyBC and the group of Alex Papaconstantinou have the sole responsibility in matters pertaining to the Contest. The Record Company of Alex Papaconstantinou becomes, from the start of the recording and hence, the exclusive and sole owner of the Song that will take part in the Competition on behalf of Cyprus and the underlying musical composition. The video clip of the song, in the event that CyBC decides to proceed with production, will be filmed by a CyBC production team, or by a production company to be selected by CyBC.
In January unofficial reports popped up that after unsuccessful attempt of televized preselection, national delegation opted to search internally for a female singer to perform song written by Alex Papaconstantinou. According to the OGAE Greece sources the chosen song is up tempo, with dance / ethnic rhythms and many orchestral sounds while the title refers to something hot. Based on the same information, representatives of Cypriot broadcaster run talks with Helena Paparizou, Tamta, Eleni Foureira and other Greek singers, but so far did not reach an agreement.

После финала Alex P подготовит конкурсную песню специально для победителя отбора. В том случае, если исполнители имеют обязательства перед каким-либо лейблом, то им рекомендуется заключить специальное соглашение с ним о том, что в период с декабря 2017 по май 2018 RIK и команда Алекса Папаконстантину несут исключительную ответственность за подготовку и участие в Евровидении. Звукозаписывающая компания Алекса с момента записи становится единственным владельцем песни, которая будет представлена на конкурсе от Кипра. Видеоклип на песню, в случае если RIK решит снимать его, будет снят исключительно RIK или производственной компанией, выбранной RIK.
В январе появилась неофициальная информация о том, что после неудачной попытки телевизионного отбора, национальная делегация решила заняться внутренним подбором исполнительницы под композицию, написанную Алексом Папаконстантину. По информации ОГАЕ Греции, выбранная конкурсная песня будет быстротемповой, с танцевальными и этническими ритмами, оркестровой аранжировкой, а ее название имеет отношение к чему-то жаркому. По той же информации представители вещателя провели переговоры с Еленой Папаризу, Тамтой, Элени Фурейрой и рядом других греческих исполнительниц, но пока не получили согласия.
