With Eurovision delegations gathering in Stockholm from Saturday and first rehearsals starting on Monday, it is time to wrap up coverage of the intermediate period between National selections season and Euroweek and look on the pre-contest favourites for Stockholm. It looks to be a completely two horse race for now, but will rehearsals bring changes to the situation?

Bookmakers are split between Russia and France being favourites, with Australia and Sweden also being close. Ukraine and Armenia are present in top 7. The outsiders of the campaign are Switzerland, Slovenia, San Marino and Montenegro.

France and Russia are also battling for the OGAE voting victory as well with Australia at a distant 3rd. Final results are expected to be revealed around 1 May.

France and Russia topped both leading online polls: ESCStats poll over Bulgaria and Australia and ESCNation poll over Australia and Croatia. France has narrowly lost 2nd place to Ukraine at ESCKAZ own poll with Russia coming on top as well.

Finally, this year ESCKAZ is again bringing it's own review of participating entries, which you can check here. There are 3 reviewers in the English and 3 in the Russian section of the website.

Måns Zelmerlöw and Petra Mede will welcome metro passengers on board during Eurovision. Metro messages, recorded in English, will be heard on the blue and red line. "Welcome onboard the red line. My name is Måns Zelmerlöw and I am The host of Eurovision Song Contest"," or "We are now at Slussen. Change here for Eurovision Song Contest in the Globe arena" are some of the messages that travelers will be met with.

If you go to Skärholmen on the red line on May 8 they will remind the passengers about the Eurovision activities in the suburbs: "We are now at Skärholmen. Be sure to try Swedish Fika at Stadsteatern Kulturhuset here this afternoon".

Tele2, the Official Mobile Operator of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest has launched an initiative, The Sound of Europe, which is the world's first crowdsourced singing voice, calling for openness and love for all.

Music knows no boundaries and this is true of the Eurovision Song Contest, founded in 1956 with the ambition to strengthen the bonds across borders. It is with this in mind that Tele2 has launched the campaign, The Sound of Europe, which is entirely in-keeping with the theme for 2016, Come Together.

Tele2 has commissioned a song, One, specially produced by Sweden's Pontus Winnberg, who has worked with artists such as Madonna and Britney Spears. By downloading the The Sound of Europe app, anyone can sing their contribution, up to and including 14th May when the Grand Final of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest will take place.

Contributions will be collected on the website of The Sound of Europe allowing users to follow in realtime as more and more people gather with their singing voices. At the Eurovision Song Contest, all voices will be gathered in one crowdsourced singing voice, singing the song, One. All revenues of the common version will go to all those in need through the organisation Radiohjälpen. Download the app on App Store and Google Play.

The heavy stage of the Eurovision Song Contest made Globen Arena to sink to the ground. Now it is located 3.5 cm lower, only because of all the equipment pressing it down. "It is not bad as it sounds. No need to be worried", says Johan Bernhagen, executive producer of the contest, at the program "Gomorron Sverige" on SVT.

The stage to be used in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm weighs 65 tons. In the Globe roof is hanging 109 tons of technical equipment and in the past few weeks 172 trucks have been unloaded in the arena. Now, the heavy stage equipment lead to the Globe sinking, reports Expressen. The stadium has fallen 3.5 centimetres lower into the ground since SVT began to move into the Eurovision Song Contest equipment there. "The entire arena became 3.5 cm lower, but everything is just as it should be", says Johan Bernhagen.

The stage of the Globe contains 900 sq.m LED screens that display graphics. "It requires lots of light and LED technology. We have to have lots of lights to compensate for LED boards. The nightmare would be a power outage, but we have a lot of back up", says Fredrik Jönsson, who calls this year's set up based on the lights "Rock'n'roll meets Eurovision", since it has been inspired by lighting rigs from the great rock shows of 90s.

• 143 kilometres of cables have been used.
• 45 people working on the lights, of them 14 - follow spot operators, whose job is to shine a light on the artist.
• 12 HDQ 40 (the world's largest video projector) used and 37 people are involved in the video broadcast
• 134 speakers, 64 microphones, 7 audio boards and 32 people work on the sound of the broadcast
• 30 pyrotechnical positions, 24 built in positions on stage.
• 350 rigging points on the roof and 1397 meters of truss used.
• 10 generators providing power, 15 km of high-voltage cable used.
• Stage: 15.5m height, 50m width, 32m depth, 220 sq.m. of the stage floor, 2000 square meters of high gloss surfaces, it took 5397 pieces just to build the rear wall. 40 people are involved in the work on the stage between songs.
• 40 cameras, 2 picture producers, 50 people are involved in producing of the transmission.

Besides changes at the Globen, the work is in process also in adjacent arenas Annexet and Hovet. Annexet is converted to the lodges for the competing artists and Hovet is becoming a media centre for accredited journalists from all over Europe. Overall, 750 people are working to produce the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden, while 220 of them are directly involved in the live broadcast of the competition.

China will broadcast Eurovision Song Contest 2016

For the first time, Chinese Hunan TV will broadcast Eurovision Song Contest live on air. It will also monitor the competition week on location in Stockholm. Just as in 2015, Chinese delegation of ten accredited journalists will be coming to Stockholm to monitor the festivities in the host city.

It is the third time overall that the Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast in China. Last year, the show was broadcast online and earlier, the program has been broadcast on replay.

"We don't know yet what will it mean to the overall viewing figures. We know that the broadcast now reaches over 200 mln viewers, even without China. Adding to that Chinese audience, there is potential for much bigger figure", says executive producer of the contest Martin Österdahl.

- No, we do not know it. We know that the consignment reaches over 200 million viewers, even without China. Adding to a Chinese audience, there is potential for very many more. Hunan TV has expressed interest to organize international Asian talent show winner of which could have competed then at the Eurovision. However, at this moment broadcaster is not a member of European Broadcasting Union. Technologically advanced performances and a clear Måns effect - this weekend begin the stand-up rehearsals and with them we can get an insight into how the Eurovision performances will look like. "Russia, Australia, Malta and Belarus stand out as the most technologically advanced," says Lotta Furebäck and Martin Kagemark responsible for stand-in rehearsals.

Months of preliminary jobs now starting to visualize for the stage directors of stand-in rehearsals Lotta Furebäck and Martin Kagemark. On Sunday, April 24 stand-in performers from Stockholm schools Kulturama, Viktor Rydberg Gymnasium and BASE23 will present the exact copies of participating entries on stage of Globen. "It's great that we have worked so long to make it a reality and that now we are seeing the results. You get new energy from it", says Lotta Furebäck. "And so it is fun to see each other's presentations. We have no chance for it before because we had so busy with our own ones", says Martin Kagemark.

Lotta Furebäck and Martin Kagemark have been coaching stand-in performers since Easter in 2016. Stand-up rehearsals give the production a possibility to work on the stage presentations of competing entries before the contestants arrive to the host city. Crew tries sound and lighting, camera angles and logistical work on each performance. Details are tested and the number of microphones are checked, headsets are tried. Moreover, rehearsals are filmed and sent to each country. Delegations get an idea of the Swedish television team's vision of how each entry may be presented - all for the convenience of the real contestants when they eventually will test the Eurovision stage for the first time.

"Everyone should be able to be as prepared as possible so that everything can run as smoothly and professionally as possible when the contestants are here", says Martin Kagemark. Stand-up rehearsals will also provide an exclusive preview of how this year's Eurovision Party will look like. "We'll see a lot of technology and lavish presentations", says Martin Kagemark. Lotta Furebäck nods in agreement: "I would say that there is a clear Måns effect". In this year's starting field, there are several entries in which the influence of the previous Eurovision winner is particularly evident. "Russia, Australia, Malta and Belarus", Lotta Furebäck mentions some of the performances that stand out extra.

There will be no strike on SVT. The work of the Eurovision Song Contest will continue as planned.

The Unionen has previously given notice that 700 employees of SVT will go strike. About 80 of them are working on the production of the Eurovision Song Contest. On Friday, it was definitely decided that the strike will not take place. Originally the strike was postponed while the Labour Court was considering the matter during the week. On Friday, after the Court ruled against the strike, it was therefore decided that it will not happen.

"It was exhausting for everyone involved in the project because of uncertainty. Now it feels good that we can fully focus on the broadcast production again", says Johan Bernhagen, executive producer of the Eurovision Song Contest.

The EBU has withdrawn member services from Romanian public service broadcaster Televiziunea Română (TVR) following the non-payment of debts totalling CHF 16 million. TVR will now no longer be able to participate in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest and will lose access to other EBU member services including the Eurovision News and Sports News Exchanges, the right to broadcast specific sporting events, legal, technical and research expertise and lobbying services. The decision was made after a deadline given to the Romanian government to make satisfactory arrangements to repay the debt expired on Wednesday 20 April.

EBU Director General Ingrid Deltenre said: "It is regrettable that we are forced to take this action. We are disappointed that all our attempts to resolve this matter have received no response from the Romanian government. In recent weeks the EBU has taken note of the Ministry of Finance’s suggestion that TVR may be placed into insolvency proceedings which may in turn lead to a profound restructuring of the broadcaster. The EBU is a not-for-profit association which represents 73 Public Service Broadcasters in 56 countries. The continued indebtedness of TVR jeopardizes the financial stability of the EBU itself"

The EBU regards the Romanian State as legally obliged to underwrite TVR’s debt which goes back as far as January 2007. Since 2010 numerous attempts have been made to restructure the debt owed and payment plans agreed that have not been adhered to. The EBU has written to the Romanian government on four separate occasions this year alone and received no reply. In a final letter to the Finance Minister of Romania Anca Dragu sent on 15 April the EBU requested a down payment of CHF 10 million to be received in the EBU´s bank account by close of business on Wednesday 20 April 2016. The Union also asked to receive an unconditional and irrevocable bank guarantee for the remaining CHF 6 million, supported by a payment plan by the end of the year. The deadline was extended until Thursday 21 April but no payment was made.

The EBU has in recent years repeatedly campaigned for a sustainable funding model for TVR and has held several meetings with high level representatives of the State including the Councillor of the President, the Minister of Finance, and Minister of Culture. During these meetings the EBU consistently promoted the value of having a truly independent public service media in Romania that ensures pluralism and contributes to an informed citizenship and the cohesion of the country.

The Romanian act will be taken out from the running order of the second Semi-Final of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, which is to take place on 12 May, 2016. The order of performances of the other 18 acts will remain the same.

"This is of course disappointing for the artist chosen to represent Romania, for our colleagues at TVR who have prepared their participation so well this year and, not least, for Romanian viewers and the many Eurovision fans in the country," says Jon Ola Sand, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the EBU. Asked what this means for host broadcaster SVT, Sand replied: "As with all participants, SVT has been preparing for Romania's act thoroughly over the past weeks. To take an act out at such late stage is of course a little disruptive, but it will not negatively affect the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in any other way.". Martin Österdahl, Executive Producer of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Swedish broadcaster SVT said: "We think it’s unfortunate. We have been looking forward to welcoming the Romanian delegation to Stockholm. Now we are adjusting the rehearsal schedule and the starting order for the second Semi-Final and continue our work with the production of the 42 participating countries."

As a consequence of the withdrawal of member services from TVR, following repeated non-payment of debt, the broadcaster will not have access to the broadcast signal from Stockholm, and thus will also not be able to broadcast the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. As the official CD for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, which includes the Romanian entry, has already been produced, the official CD indeed contains the Romanian entry for this year's contest. The EBU has decided to keep the digital download of the song available for download and streaming, as a courtesy to the artist. Romanian press and fans who had their accreditations approved will not lose their accreditation, and will be moved to the so-called International Delegation, which includes press and fans from non-participating countries, in the next few days. Tickets for the shows sold to Romanian fans also remain valid.

About 80 Eurovision Song Contest-workers were prepared to go on strike. Now they are accusing SVT for preparing strike-breaking, by looking substitute for them. "I've never been through anything like this," says Gun Karlsson, president of the union at SVT.

Unionen and Sweden's engineers can not strike for the pension issue. This was announced by the Labour Court on Thursday. What happens next is unclear. Of the more than 800 SVT employees who would have gone on strike on Friday, about 80 work on the Eurovision song contest. The preparation of the production follows a strict schedule. At the end of the week will stage construction will be completed.

Now representatives of trade unions and the Union of Swedish Professional Photographers accuse SVT to prepare for strike-breaking, for the fear of failure with Eurovision. "What SVT and ALMEGA are doing is attempting to replace our members with other employees who work at the other companies, which are members of the Union of Journalists or unorganized. They also seek freelancers, for the strike to have as little impact as possible", says Gun Karlsson, president of the union at SVT. "It will just drag out the conflict. I and the Unionen think that it is preparation for the strike breaking. It is serious".

Among other things SVT have been searching for freelance photographers, to cover up for the photographers who would be on strike. Freelance servicemen have been offered a contract with the promise to "be ready to step in" if the strike would break out. If the strike does not happen, the photographers who have signed the contract anyway will get a compensation, reportedly of sums of between 15,000 and 30,000 crowns.

"The contract means that if there is a strike, I promise to work. Especially during the Eurovision production. If there is no strike, I get compensation anyway. On the way down SVT employees and freelancers work together, and SVT calls on freelancers to break the strike", says Anki Almqvist, chairman of the Swedish Photographers Association. For a pressed profession as a photographer, it is easy to take up a job offer, even if it does not feel completely ethical, she believes. "To call on freelance photographers to become strike breakers is a completely crazy. It attracts by saying, "you get compensation even if there is no strike", and since the job market has been quite difficult and people must earn a living, it is easy to agree with it" says Anki Almqvist. "It's crazy, really. We call on our members not to sign this contract".

Besides photographers SVT is in danger to lose sound engineers and production managers working with Eurovision. According to Gun Karlsson at Union SVT has also tried to cover for employees who work with the children's program Labyrinth and the coverage of the king's 70th birthday. "It's all the key functions. I think it is worrying and bad behaviour. It does not belong to this fine public service company to behave in this way", she says.

Helene Sahlin is HR manager at SVT. She stresses that the preparations during the notice period before a strike are not illegal. "I have always opposed the Unionen's rhetoric about strike-breaking, what we have done is within the framework of what is permissible in such situations. Then you have the option to add on schemes under the employment agreements of those who work", she says. According to Helene Sahlin, SVT has shown good faith by following the rules of the labor market. "Regarding the ESC we have great commitments to 200 million viewers, the City of Stockholm and all those who travel here to see the finale. We do what we can to not risk the broadcast and have accepted external personnel to secure up so the audience is not met by a black box".

Correct, beautiful and expressive - this is the motto for sign interpreters, who are involved in the production of the international sign language version of the event. SVT will broadcast the contest with the international sign language for deaf and hearing-impaired viewers throughout Europe to make them able to experience the songs. In Sweden shows with sign language will be broadcast on SVT 24 and online on SVT Play. International sign characters is not a separate language, but a mix of different characters from different countries sign languages, that make it possible to be understood by people from accross the Europe.

Sign performers have taken on the songs competing in the Swedish national contest Melodifestivalen since 2010 with great emotion. Several of the songs performed in sign language have been noticed all over the world; the last time being earlier this year when SVT sign performer Romel Blecher ended up in the spotlight when he took off his t-shirt during the sign performance of Bada nakna performed by Samir and Viktor. International signing was used in the Eurovision Song Contest last year and SVT will develop the concept further in 2016.

"We think in a different way than the artists do. Every song contains so much more than just the music, like the dance, the choreography and the lighting. To us it is very important to find sign performers with good knowledge of language but who also beam energy through the TV screen", says Julia Kankkonen who has the mission to produce the Eurovision Song Contest in international characters. "Our sign performers must understand the music and the songs to be able to translate it into international sign language in a way which is understood, expressive and enjoyable", she continues.

This year, nine interpreters representing Sweden, Lithuania, Germany, Iceland, Russia and Denmark will perform songs and prior to that will gather in the special workshop where they will receive tips from a language coach. The recordings of the interpretations will take place next week. From Sweden we will see Tommy Rangsjö (sign language actor in this year Melodifestivalen), Xuejia Rennie Zacsko (sung with Loreen on the stage at the Melodifestivalen 2013), Amina Ouahid (sign language actor in Melodifestivalen) and debutant Laith Fathulla. Russia is represented by Pavel Rodionov.

"I want to give the message behind the song, so that hearing impaired people can also be a part of the show.. I have found a talent that I did not know I had. The Eurovision a good debut for me", says Laith Fathulla. "The interpreter must understand the content and express it in a way so that the audience feels the mood of the song. We use our entire body: from toe to head"

"There was a call for a deaf performers and I decided to go for it and submit applications," says representative of Iceland Kolbrún Völkudóttir. All candidates had to translate the same text, make a video and submit. "I understand that about 50 applicants sought and 11 continued after the video. I and the 10 survivors met in Stockholm Workshop. There were people from Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Russia, Lithuania and other countries. After workshop were chosen nine who will come to translate and sing the songs in sign language".

Finland: Isabella Larm Eurovision Stars will arrive to Stockholm in the beginning of May, but rehearsals of their entries are already in full swing in the Globe Arena. Specially chosen students perform on the stage the participating songs until performers arrive.

Stand-in artists play big role in the so-called stand-in rehearsals, which was something that Sweden introduced in 2013. The principle has been around since before, but developed in the students making the entire stage presentation and choreographies and singing live in the original languages.

Greece: Elisa Krujezi, Henrik Niss, Markus Cederberg, William Lundberg, Bella Almstedt, Sunny R.P. Valentine 91 stand-in have been selected through the auditions, which this year too place in early March. Stand-ins get a rehearsal video from each competing country. Then they learn songs in the original language as well as choreography. The production uses it as an extra rehearsal to adjust the camera angles.

During Wednesday students from Stockholm schools Kulturama and Viktor Rydberg Gymnasium and the Dance School Base23 were the first singers to get to the Eurovision stage. "This is truly a great moment for us who want to become dancers, artists and singers to really show what we can do. It could be people here who discovers us", says Sunny RP Valentine, who has rehearsed the role of one of the rappers in the Greek contribution. Many hope to become the next "Ellen Benediktson", who was discovered in 2013 when she was a stand-in to the French entrant Amandine Bourgeois. Since then she has participated in the Melodifestivalen twice.

Spain: Greta The requirements for school students are high. They must deliver exact copies of the entries - all while different professionals and contest producer Christer Björkman follow their every little step. "I'm so impressed! They are really super and incredibly dedicated. They have copied every single hand movement. We have so much talent in this country", says a delighted Christer Björkman. Is there any Ellen Benediktson among this year's stand ins? "I hope so and I would almost think that there are some real treasures", says Christer Björkman with a wink.

Bosnia and Herzegovina: Vanja Gruvsjö Lehtola (lead singer), Aksel Mörk (lead singer), William Lundberg (rapper), Olivia Danay (violinist), Hanna Nilsson and Johanna Hillbom (backings singers) Several schoolchildren have to step in as the lead singers, dancers or backing singers in more than just one entry. In addition, some had to learn new languages. Isabella Larm will perform both Finnish and Macedonian entries - the latter entirely in Macedonian. "I wrote it down phonetically how it sounds, and then it was really easy. Then it was just to learn the order of the words", she explains. More difficult it was for Aksel Mörk, which together with Vanja Gruvsjö are performing the Bosnian ballad. "It is important to understand what the song is about and what words are meaning. It was a challenge".

Spain Stand-in rehearsals are filmed. The clips are then sent to the delegations, which thus can polish their presentations based on the Eurovision stage conditions. "We help countries, so it feels great. If the entry we perform is going to win, then we will have a feeling we've been involved and helped a little", says Sunny RP Valentine.

Christer Björkman has submitted for SVT website a progress report from inside the Globe, where the work to complete the stage of the contest is in full swing. Rehearsals of stand-in performers have also began. "We are completely on time, which is amazing, everything is operating as it should be. The stand-in rehearsals have already started, which means that students will now be rehearsing all participating acts on the stage of Globen, and our image producers will decide which shots are to be taken. So it's full action here, and there is beautiful amazing energy in the air. It feels so far unbelievably good", says Christer Björkman.

Citydressing for the senses during the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm

Creativity and playfulness have been important factors for the Citydressing during Eurovision Song Contest. The city center will be decorated, for more than one sense.

"The city's ambition is to create visibility, but also the pride, commitment and recognition in the urban environment. As the Eurovision Song Contest is a musical event, we wanted to complement the visual senses with sound installations in some places", says Jesper Ackinger, COO Stockholm Business Region and Executive City Project Manager Eurovision Song Contest

The Citydressing can be experienced at Stockholm City Hall, as well as along the main shopping streets Drottninggatan, Kungsgatan and Biblioteksgatan, The Eurovision Village in Kungsträdgården, Skeppsbron near Euroclub, along Götgatan on Södermalm and also in the Globe Arena district. Stockholm Arlanda Airport, the airport shuttles and the metro will also be dressed for the event.

"It will be an impressive sight with Eurovision Decorations along Götgatan from Slussen to Skanstull. This way we will also tie together the events in the Globe Arena district to the festival area Eurovision Village in Kungsträdgården, which was something we aspired", says Jesper Ackinger

The Countdown Flower on Norrmalmstorg is part of the sound and lighting decoration program for the event. The area around Norrmalmstorg and Kungsträdgården will offer various sound installations.

Urban pedestrian tunnels are places you normally would pass through as quickly as possible, until now. In connection with the Eurovision Song Contest, five Singing tunnels will be installed in Stockholm. Magic is created through technology and music. The tunnels will be installed before the event and in place throughout the year. Here are the Singing tunnels: 1.Gullmarsplan Norra; 2.Bredäng Centrum; 3.Londonviadukten; 4.Kirunaplan, Vällingby C; 5.Brunkebergstunneln.

The tunnels are a kind of interactive sound installation where the visitor's own voice, sound modules and the acoustics of the tunnel interact. The result is a jam session between the visitor and the tunnel! At the entrance to the tunnel, the visitor is invited to sing loudly. But instead of the natural echo, a sampled voice will be heard. The result is the singing tunnel. The installation is a collaboration between the two sound artists Max Björverud and Håkan Lidbo and the City of Stockholm within the framework of the Eurovision Song Contest.

"We wanted to visualize Stockholm's strengths in music and tech and transfer that to the street environment. The singing tunnels are fun and creative and our hope is that they will add enjoyment in a rather dull environment", says Cecilia Wallenius at the Traffic Office in Stockholm. The Singing tunnel recognizes the tone you sing and then returns the sound with a similar voice. When you sing a few notes, an additional voice enters, singing back notes that have been sung before. The visitor and the tunnel sing in two voices. The tunnels only respond to singing, not talking, shouting or traffic noise. The more people singing, the more melodies the tunnel will learn. The idea is that each tunnel will develop their own musical dialect", says Cecilia Wallenius.

Musical crosswalks play new tunes in Stockholm during Eurovision Song Contest

Musical crosswalks will be installed to highlight Stockholm as a city of music in connection with the Eurovision Song Contest. Six signalled controlled crossings around Kungsträdgården have been selected. The standard audio loops will be replaced by two of Sweden’s previous Eurovision Song Contest winners; Loreen's song "Euphoria" and Måns Zelmerlöw’s "Heroes". "Euphoria" will be played during the red light and "Heroes" during the green light.

Six signalled controlled crosswalks will get a brand new audio file that will sync with the ordinary ticking sound. When waiting at the red signal, a box will play "Euphoria" in sync with 60 engravings per minute. When the light turns green "Heroes" will play in sync with the 600 engravings per minute. The music is played in addition to a ticking sound.

"This is our way to contribute to the festive spirit during the Eurovision Song Contest. The project is unique to Stockholm. It is the first time such an attempt has been made, where music and the classic ticking sound is combined. The project is possible thanks to a collaboration with the audio artist Håkan Lidbo and Prisma Teknik AB", says Henrik Axelsson at the Traffic Office in Stockholm.

The musical crosswalks can be found at the following locations: Skeppsbron-Slottsbacken; Skeppsbron-Strömbron; Kungsträdgårdsgatan- Strömgatan; Kungsträdgårdsgatan- Hamngatan; Hamngatan at the Kungsträdgården bus stop; Hamngatan at Norrmalmstorg.

Gina Dirawi will host "Studio Eurovision" program which will be aired live from Globen Arena hour before the start of the live shows. There will be stories, music, and guests. Dirawi, who hosted Melodifestivalen earlier this year, will also be announcing Swedish points in the final on May 14.

Arts in music, art in glass. The winner of the Eurovision Song Contest will receive the Eurovision Prize, a unique glass microphone designed by Kjell Engman and handmade in Kosta, Smaland.

In 2008, Kjell Engman had the honor of designing the prize for the Eurovision Song Contest. The prize for 2016 event was produced by Kosta Boda company.

In conjunction with Australia's entry in 2015 Kosta Boda had produced thumbnails of the Eurovision Prize, a limited edition of 100 pieces was sold out the first day. With Måns Zelmerlöw victory this year's limited edition of 100 pieces was sold for for 2490 kr / each.

The running order of the Semi-Finals of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest has been unveiled by Host Broadcaster SVT. Following the same format that has been in place since 2013, producers decided the running order to ensure that each song stands out and to create a more exciting television show. The decision was approved by the EBU Executive Supervisor Jon Ola Sand and the Chairman of the Reference Group, Dr. Frank Dieter Freiling.

"My goal is to give every song maximum space so it’s surrounded by other songs that make it stand out and shine for three minutes. This also reduces the anxiety surrounding where a country is placed in the running order. Wherever the artist is singing they have a chance to be noticed, said Christer Björkman, Contest Producer for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest

The ambition is to make the starting order and thereby the live shows as interesting as possible for the viewers. This was also the reason for the change of rules three years ago, as the draw of lots made it possible for several similar songs to be placed after each other, Christer Björkman explained.

"The big challenge this year is the number of soloists because almost two thirds of all the competing entries this year are solo singers. In the first semi-final there was the big challenge with eight female solo artists with different kinds of pop songs in the mid- to uptempo range. And there I have done everything to get a good spread. In the first half of the semi-final 2, six of the nine entries were by male solo artists. But there is, on the other hand, a greater spread of the genre and tempo, which made it a little easier. I am really pleased with the end result and it will be great fun to show off in May", says Christer Björkman.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has announced it has signed an exclusive option with Australian Associate SBS (Special Broadcasting Service) to establish an Asian version of the Eurovision Song Contest. Under the agreement, SBS and production partners Blink TV are exploring the opportunity to establish the Eurovision Song Contest concept in the Asia Pacific region, offering broadcasters and sponsors the opportunity to be a part of this amazing event.

"SBS Australia has been broadcasting Eurovision for over 30 years, so we feel they are a perfect partner to build an alliance of networks with, and give Asian songwriters and artists the opportunity to perform on the Eurovision stage, said Jon Ola Sand, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest. "We are excited by the fact that Eurovision’s appeal is crossing continental borders to Asian countries, added Dr. Frank-Dieter Freiling, Chairman of the Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group and Senior Vice President of International Affairs at ZDF.

Capitalising on the success, production values and scale of the Eurovision Song Contest, Eurovision Asia would encompass Asia Pacific nations, bringing together up to 20 countries to compete in one extraordinary live annual Grand Final. The inaugural event is planned to be hosted in Australia in 2017 and thereafter in other regional cities. The broadcast rights will be licensed on a global basis and the event will offer the chance for Asia Pacific countries to showcase their song writing and performing talent to the world.

SBS Managing Director Michael Ebeid welcomed the agreement: "As the official broadcaster of Eurovision for over 30 years, SBS are pleased to explore the opportunity to bring an event of this calibre more closely to our shores, strengthening the multicultural ties in our own backyard. Asia Pacific has a spectacular music culture and the perfect next step to extend the Eurovision brand, bringing its hugely popular appeal beyond Australian audiences and to the wider region".

Over the next few months SBS’s Eurovision production partners Blink TV will lead discussions with potential sponsors, commercial partners and regional broadcasters with hopes to bring this event to fruition in 2017.

Director of Blink TV, Paul Clarke says the project could be huge: "Now we have been granted an opportunity to grow the Eurovision brand from an audience of 200 million, to a potential Asian audience of more than a billion viewers. We are pleased with the very early discussions across the region and look forward to working with our neighbouring broadcasters to realise this vision".

We have to remind this is not the first attempt of EBU to sell the Eurovision brand to other continents including Asia, Africa and USA, however, all previous attempts have ended unsuccessfully. Eurovision Asia project will also have to compete with the events organized by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, including ABU TV Song Festival, which this year will be held in Indonesia, and planned to debut in 2017 "ABU Cup TV Song Contest" realized together with Hunan TV from China.

The official Head of Delegation Meeting takes place in Stockholm on 13-15 March. As usual, on this occasion, the entries of all participating countries are officially handed over to the European Broadcasting Union, and the latest news about the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest are announced. Follow the updates on our Twitter.

• More information on the format of postcards this year has been released
• More information on the Eurovision stage made public
• Eurovision The Party on the day of Grand Final in Tele2 Arena, read here
• More details on the Bulgarian entry revealed, presentation on 21 March.

During Head of Delegation Meeting, the starting position of host country Sweden has been drawn: Number 9 in the Grand Final. The complete starting order of the three shows of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest will be determined by the producers of the show. The full running order of the Semi-Finals will be announced in the upcoming weeks before the start of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest rehearsals.

Bulgarian broadcaster BNT, which hosted the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, has been permitted by the EBU to release their song and video on Sunday 20th of March. Croatia, Iceland and Malta have also been granted permission to release their respective preview videos by that date. All necessary materials that are required for the host broadcaster to prepare the acts for the live shows have been delivered in time, in accordance with the Eurovision Song Contest Rules.

Christer Björkman sees a trend among the entries of this year: "There is a clear Måns effect. There is a lot of technology to be used. There are a lot of projections and different kinds of technology needed to give the performance stronger impact. Delegations want to approach performance with a music video way of thinking rather than it being only about the performer on stage".

The official CD of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, as well digital bundles, will be released from 15 April. The official DVD, including full recordings of the three live shows, will be available from 17 June.

The EBU has announced the preliminary dates for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest: The First Semi-Final will take place on 16 May, the Second Semi-Final on 18 May, and the Grand Final on 20 May, 2017. The dates have been chosen to not clash with major TV and sports events but they can still change in coordination with the 2017 host broadcaster.

2016 - Come Together.

Google Play.

The Sound of Europe.

Farsta Gård, Farsta; Kista Träff, Kista; Nya Rågsveds Folkets Hus, Rågsved; Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, Skärholmen; Medborgarhuset Trappan, Vällingby.

Греция: Elisa Krujezi, Henrik Niss, Markus Cederberg, William Lundberg, Bella Almstedt, Sunny R.P.

1.Gullmarsplan Norra; 2.Bredäng Centrum; 3.Londonviadukten; 4.Kirunaplan, Vällingby C; 5.Brunkebergstunneln.
