I have a buddy, more of a brother than a friend
Who cares for me and I care for him as well
Each morning we walk to school together
And at night
Mummy shouts at us to try to keep it quiet

I have a buddy, we have fun together
We play outside regardless of the weather
And I swear to you, you can't find friends like us
At least not in the history they teach to us in class

Buddies forever
We two are going to stay buddies forever
You're gonna be my best buddy forever
When times are hard, when we have fun
Buddies for all our life

I have a buddy, who always looks me in the eyes
And cross my heart, he never says no lies
We never fight, but when we do it is so silly
And in a while
We both look at each other and smile

If you want to learn about friendship
Well, I'd be glad to give you some advice
And together with your friends
We'll sing a song of friendship sweet and nice.

Refrain

Rap You know we're gonna stay, buddies forever
Buddies forever forever forever
We are gonna be like one forever
Buddies forever forever forever
Just like I said we 'll be buddies forever
Buddies forever forever forever
Buddies forever forever forever,

Croatia - Dino (04/06/92) - Ti si moja prva ljubav (You're my first love)

At the age of eleven, Dino is an old hand at show biz. Music’s been his passion ever since his earliest childhood days. And for someone who knew all of the Croatian singer Gibonni’s songs by heart before his third birthday, a singing career must surely be predestined?!
Dino has written the song „Ti si moja prva ljubav“ especially for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. And with great success: he managed to decide the pre-contest in Zagreb on the 5th of July in his favour with the maximum number of 50 points in the televoting.

But this is just the most recent success of his: Dino has been on stage since his earliest childhood, impressing not only audiences and juries, but his role models Gibonni and Tony Cetinski as well. So it was a special highlight when Dino went on stage with Tony, and the two of them, dressed as twins, presented Tony’s Eurovision Song „Zbog nje“ at a Revival Night of the Croation Eurosong Contest. After that, nothing could hold Dino back as he got ahead in the papers and on TV.

His vast experience will help Dino deal with the excitement of the J-ESC. After all, he’s already been successful at lots of similar events. And there are plans for the future already: After the J-ESC in Copenhagen, Dino will bring out his first CD!

And because Dino, as the real young star that he is, takes his responsibilities seriously, he ‘s recorded a Band Aid-single for UNICEF Croatia: On this single, called “We need love”, he sings a song against violence, together with all the participants of the pre-contest. So that all children in his country can grow up with song on their lips.

After Eurovision:
Watch ESCKAZ' interview with Dino in Minsk here.
Watch BTRC movie "Kids of Eurovision" here.
Dino has already had his first full length concert held in the Salata stadium in Zagreb in September 2004, gathering 6000 fans. In 2005 he went on a multi-city tour in Australia, entertaining Croatian communities in Adelaide, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, Woologong and Brisbane.
In June 2005, Dino performed as a guest star at the Langeland Music Festival beside Ronan Keating and UB40 in Denmark — the same country in which he had won the JESC two years earlier. That same year in November, his sister Lorena represented Croatia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005 performing "Rock Baby". Dino accompanied her for moral support.
In 2008 he took part in CMC short for Croatian music channel with his new band. In 2009, Dino started recording new album in Melbourne, Australia, with ex Joan Jett & Paul McCartney producer Mark Berry. The came out August, 2011, titled Living My Own Life. The album has various styles of music, from Orchestral ballads like Can't stand this any longer to Metal tunes like Living my own life and Get On. In 2011 Dino perfomed in opera Carmen with his academy. Besides his solo career, Dino also has Metal project with Under Nihilo, the one man band from Croatia, and they are currently working on their first EP called Made Of Scars. Dino also performs acoustical gigs with Ivan Ivankovic, guitarst from Croatia Rock band Cota G4. Youtube: DinoOfficialYT

I live in Zagreb with my parents and my sister Lorena. I’m in the 5th grade of my
regular school ad in 3rd in my music school where I play the piano. I also take singing lessons and practice drama in my free time.
I started singing very early. At the age of 2 Ѕ, I knew all the songs of my favourite Croatian singer, Gibonni (all 3 albums at that time) by heart, and was singing in kindergarten and for our friends.
At the age of 5 1/2 , I went to an audition for "Turbo Limach Show", the best children’s show on Croatian TV, where children sing live. Out of 5700 participants, they picked 64, and I was one of them.
In the first round, I won with a rock song (by Gibonni), in the semi finals (16 singers), I won with the song "Zbog nje" by Tony Cetinski, who was the Croatian representative at the Eurovision Song Contest a few years ago.
In the finals held in February 1999 (featuring only 3 singers and 1 dance group), I made a fantastic live appearance on stage, which gave me the chance to sing in a lot of places.
Mr. Tony Cetinski congratulated me for my performance of his song, and asked me to sing with him at a revival night of the Croatian Eurosong Contest (reserved for all Croatian winners of the past years). Dressed like Tony and with the same hairstyle as his, I attracted the media, and was in all the newspapers and a few TV shows.
After that, I sang on Mothers day in the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb, at a special concert in the Croatian National Theater in Varazdin, at the ATP challenger tennis tournament Zagreb Open and many other occasions.
In October 1999, I went to the International Nile Song Festival in Cairo, Egypt where I made 4th place in the group of the 5 - 8,5-year-olds with the song "New Millennium Kid" , written by my father Dario.
In April 2000, I sang at the Bjelovar Children's Festival in Croatia and won 1st place by audience vote and 2nd place by jury. I was awarded for music (Dario Jelusic, my father), and for arrangement (Tihomir Preradovic, my music producer).
In July 2000, I won a contest organised by McDonald's Croatia, winning the first round ahead of 29 other kids and the final ahead of 29 more with 60 points out of 60.
In January 2001, I was in the finals of the Croatian festival "Dorica" in Opatija, and just a few days later, I participated and received 3th place in the INF in Cairo, Egypt.
In March 2001, a festival called "Turbovision" was held. It was a live music show in which a few of the best kids in Croatia sang the winning songs of the Eurovision Song Contests of past years. I participated with Johnny Logan's "Hold me now".
In July 2001, I participated in the International Kids Festival in Figueira da Foz, Portugal, and won a Grand Prix with my song "Dijete novog vremena".
In September 2001, I had my first solo concert and all the money collected went to a kids’ hospital in Zagreb. It was powered by McDonald's, Family radio, Nesquick and Sunnypress.
In November 2001, I participated in the 1st Golden Star Festival in Bucharest, Romania, with the song "Emily" and received the popularity award and the press award.
In 2002, 4 international festivals followed: Veo-veo in Alicante, Spain; Super Grand prix in Igea Marina, Italy (1st place); 2nd Golden Star Festival in Bucharest, Romania with my new song "My life is rock'n'roll" (3rd place) and the International Festival in Kaunas, Lithuania (1st place).
I started the year 2003 with a Fidof (international children's festival organization) Award for Outstanding Performance for my new song "Oh, Lord" at the 4th INF in Cairo.
After that, I learned about the 1st Junior Eurovision Song Contest. I started writing a song that finally became a winner in the national finals in Zagreb on the 5th July. I got a maximum of 50 points in televoting.
At the moment, my team is preparing material to publish my first CD just after the finals of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen on November 15th. They have also produced a new song («We need love») for a Band Aid performance, made up of all participants of the Croatian Junior Eurovision Song Contest as a contribution to the campaign of UNICEF Croatia against bullying.

What an evening! Dino couldn’t believe it. HE had won! Yes, HE! He is the world’s first J-ESC Star ... and that’s thanks to TV viewers in all 16 countries who decided per televoting. Especially Belarus, FYR Macedonia and Spain let themselves be charmed by the 11-year-old’s wink.
Hope grew after a professionally done performance, in which something definitely clicked between the audience and Dino rocking the stage. (Admit it – who wasn’t at least tapping their feet???)
“Well, yes, it would be nice...”, admitted a modest Dino when interviewed by Camilla in the Green Room .

Then, 14 songs and a nerve-wrecking voting later, it was certain: Dino had put Sergio from Spain and Tom from the UK in their places – behind him...
Now everything was spinning around him, and he was the centre of everyone’s attention.

Camilla and Remee presented him with the trophy, the girls in the sold-out Forum arena were screaming their hearts out and giving the press an impressive sample of the “law of the jungle”. Bruises, schmuises – “Dino, DINO, DIIIIIINNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!” – only those who made it to the very front had a chance to get hold of one of the coveted autographs.

And on it went: press questions, photos, smiles, showing the trophy to the cameras, a moment’s break to accept his father Dario’s enthusiastic congratulations, finally off to the party at the town hall.

And here Dino made the unwanted experience of finding out what it means to be the prince, and unable to evade the superior might of the girls. Marija, Volha, Victorija, Julia, Charlot, Katarzyna, the Latvian dancers – all wanted “their” dance with Dino. But he just wanted one thing: “How do I get out of here?” Sorry, escape route blocked!

But junioreurovision.tv did manage somehow to get a picture of the new mega star on the red carpet. You can find this pic and all the others we took at the event in the Photo Gallery in the Media Lounge.

The next afternoon, the plane was waiting to take Dino back to Zagreb via Munich. Once landed: red carpet treatment again!
Everyone was there: The press, the fans, TV, family, friends...
Mr. Galic, the Croatian TV General Manager, had insisted on congratulating Dino personally. And he had brought a large package with him – the collected works about Harry Potter!

That just leaves us with the question when Dino is going to have the time to read those heavy tomes?! The press is queuing up to talk to him, and he’s already got his sights trained his next plans: his first CD!

Budim se
prestaje jedan divan san
oblačim se na brzinu
da odjurim s dečkima van

al' je tata stao na vrata
i rekao: "Ne možeš van,
nedjelja je dragi sine
ideš s nama u restoran".

Kad sam je vidio u restoranu
promjenilo se sve
nisam više mislio na hranu
nego kako doći do nje.

Pokušao sam stari trik
kao: "Možete mi dodati sol?"
srećom tata joj je bio frik
i rekao: "Sjedni s nama za stol".

Ti si moja prva ljubav
ovu pjesmu tebi pjevam ja
cijelog si me smotala, zaludila
i više ne znam koliko je dva i dva

Ti si moja prva ljubav
i to dobro znaš
Ti si moja prva ljubav
super mi je kad me pogledaš

Znam da izgleda kao čudna priča
ali tako bilo je
još i danas mi se sviđa
sve bi dao da sam kraj nje

Dobar bio mi je onaj trik
kada sjeo sam s vama za stol
ti postala si glavni lik
mojih priča i pjesama sto

Ti si moja prva ljubav
ovu pjesmu tebi pjevam ja
cijelog si me smotala, zaludila
i više ne znam koliko je dva i dva

Ti si moja prva ljubav
i to dobro znaš
Ti si moja prva ljubav
super mi je kad me pogledaš

*Arrangement by Tihomir Preradovic

I woke up
in the middle of a lovely dream
I jumped out of my bed
to go out with my friends

But dad stopped me at the door
and asked me "where are you going?"
Today it's Sunday
come with us to the restaurant

When I saw you at the restaurant
everything changed
I no longer thought of food
but how to get to you

I tried the old trick
asked "could you please pass me the salt"
but her dad was a freak
and said "sit with us at the table"

You are my first love
I sing this song to you
confused, infatuated
I don't even know much equals 2+ 2

You are my first love
I hope you know it too
You are my first love
I'd be great if you looked at me

I know it sounds like a strange story
but every single word is true
Still I liked how
at the end it worked

It was a good trick
when I sat down with you at the table
and I managed to impress you
with the stories and poems I told
Morning sun
wakes me up in the middle of a dream
It seemed like it really happened
I didn't know what it means

I jumped out of my bed
and put my new blue jeans
with just one thought in my head
to find the girl from my dreams

I was running from place to place
with only one thing in my mind
just to see your pretty face
you are all I wanna find

Then I saw you standing there
on the other side of the street
you took my breath away
and swept me off my feet

You are my one and only
you are the one I'm dreaming of
without you I'm lost and lonely, lost and lonely
can't even find my way back home

You are my one and only
I hope you know it too
You are my one and only, one and only
I go crazy when I look at you

I know it sounds like funny story
but every single word is true
you filled my day with joy and glory
Oh, I fall in love with you.

When I saw you standing there
on the other side of the street
you took my breath away
and swept me off my feet

You are my one and only
you are the one I'm dreaming of
without you I'm lost and lonely
can't even find my way back home

You are my one and only
I hope you know it too
You are my one and only, one and only
I go crazy when I look at you

A star is falling
And a wish is rising
In the sky tonight
From within the soul

And to my mind
Come the children of war
With a message of love
To all people on earth

God give strength to the children of war
So they last until the moment
My wish comes forever true

I wish that the love
Within people's souls
Will bring peace
Joy and happiness

Give them your starlight
And touch their hearts
So they stay always bright
Just like children's hearts are

God give strength to the children of war
So they last until the moment
My wish comes forever true

God give strength to the children of war
So they last until the moment
My wish comes forever true

Let me see a shining smile
On their faces
And to hear their voices
In the neighbourhood again
God give strength to the children of war
So they last until the moment
My wish comes forever true

God give strength to the children of war
So they last until the moment
My wish comes forever true
Belarus - Volha Satsiuk (02/08/93) - Tantsui (Dance)

Volha is ten years old and is in the forth grade. She studies piano in a musical school. She sings many songs in Belarusian, Russian, Ukrainian and Polish. Recently, she started to learn English songs. She likes singing, dancing, drawing and above all performing on a big stage in front of many people.

Katsiaryna Lipouskaya was born on 2 October, 1987 in Kozlovichi of Belarus. She first appeared on stage at the age of seven and in 2003 she became laureate of the national TV contest of young talents Constellation of Hopes. She graduated from Children Art School with major in piano and choreography, and writes verses and composes music.

Belteleradiocompany was responsible for selecting a performer and song for the contest on behalf of Belarus as a member of the EBU, the organizer of the event. It was owing to the young talent show Constellation of Hopes shown on the Belarusian television that it was possible to select the most promising and aspiring young artist - Volha Satsuk.
The terms and conditions of the Eurovision children’s contest are quite complicated because participating states are not only to furbish a singer, but also to have him/her sing …another child’s song! It means whoever writes this song is not a professional aged under 15.
"We had our difficulties there quite obviously. It is one thing to book a solid professional to write a song, but finding a peer capable of putting together nice lyrics was a pretty tall order, - Executive Producer L.A.Borodina says. - We are lucky to have a TV contest Constellation of Hopes which gives us the opportunity to select from among talented and versatile kids. One of the participants who could be nominated to the Eurovision contest was Katsiaryna Lipouskaya from the village of Kozlovichi, Slutsk District, who sang her own song. But she has turned 16 this October and the country is always better off presenting someone younger than that…".
The rules of the Junior Contest are fairly democratic and considerate to child composers. Both a composer and performer have been invited to Copenhagen. Katsiaryna Lipouskaya was also on stage.

Зноў ты зусiм адзiн… Дзе яны, дзе - сябры?!
Дома самотна быць, гэтак жа i ў двары...
Ну дык i што з таго, смутак свой праганi,
Зорку вазьмi ў далонь i танцаваць пачнi.

Зорку вазьмi ў далонь i танцаваць пачнi!

Once again you are sad… Where are you, friends of mine?!
It's so sad in my home, outdoors not so fine!
Well, and what? Drive the sadness away
Take the star in the hands and let's dance all the way.

REFRAIN: Let's dance o - woo - o! Let's dance, yo -ho - ho!
Free your head from the sad thoughts!
Dance all the night, dance all the day
And I will help you in your life's way!

All the same, life is fine, life is given but once
Joy is life's greatest gift, this is life, so let's dance!
Don't forget it, my friend, don't betray this romance
Take the star in the hands once again and let's dance!

Look, don't stay, be so happy and glad
Other people are sad, but not you, don't be sad!
To the left, to the right, up and down you can go
Jump and turn, look around, be so happy to row!
Look, don't stay, be so happy and glad!
Other people are sad, but not you, don't be sad!

REFRAIN: Let's dance o - woo - o! Let's dance, yo -ho - ho!
Free your head from the sad thoughts!
Dance all the night, dance all the day
And I will help you in your life's way!
Latvia - Dzintars Čīča (23/01/93) - Tu esi vasarā (You are in summer)

Among the “grown ups ”, the participants of the Eurovision Song Contest, participants from the Baltic States are a definite constant. Pop from the Baltics – an enrichment for European music culture, and very successful at that. “Everybody” and “I Wanna” are still tunes everyone hums along to.
Now Dzintars Cica, who managed to decide the J-ESC precontest in Latvia in his favour with his band „Visbija“, is following in these famous footsteps. Dzintars is from Sabile, a city in western Latvia, and he is a real outdoors guy.

As soon as summer comes, nothing can keep him inside the flat, swimming and running are his hobbies. On his outings into nature, his generous heart takes over – if he finds abandoned or hurt animals, he won’t leave them to their fate, but takes them home to care for them, something his parents aren’t always too happy about.

Apart from his hobbies, Dzintars of course works on his great talent as a singer and songwriter. The ten-year-old almost always is humming a tune, he writes down his ideas and shares them with the members of his band “Visbija”. This is also how the song “You are in Summertime”, which convinced the Latvians to send him to Copenhagen to the J-ESC, came into being.

And Dzintars is happy – the more audience, the better. “When I’m up there, singing in front of people, I can feel the energy going out from all of us”, he describes his feelings on stage. And, as a message to encourage his competitors, he tells them: ”Come what may in Copenhagen – there will be no losers. We have come so far, we are all winners.”

Even though he is on the right track to becoming a musician, Dzintars also thinks of his future. To make his parents and his sister Santa proud of him, he studies math in school with enthusiasm, but of course he’d rather make his dream come true than become an accountant. And after all, his great idol, Jean-Claude van Damme, whom he follows suit in karate, also made it all the way to the top using his talent and willpower.
Name: Dzintars
My place and date of birth: Talsi (Latvia) - 28.01.1993
Colour of my eyes: dark brown
My astrological sign: Aquarius
Colour of my hair: black
My height: ?
I have ... an older sister and her name is Santa.
My favourite Band or Artist is: Robbie Williams
My favourite Food: fried chicken
My favourite Film: all films with Jean-Claude Van Damme
What music means to me? That is the best way to show my joy for the life.
I would like to meet ... Jean-Claude van Damme because he knows how to fight and how to protect himself and others.
For no money in the world would I ... betray my friends.
I am perfect in running.
I absolutely can’t eat onions.
My favourite subject at school is math.
My biggest fear is: I am not afraid of anything.
I can cook pancakes.
My friends say that my worst character trait is that I can’t wake up early in the mornings.
If I win the J-ESC contest, this is what I would like to say to the other participants: there are no losers in this contest – we all are winners.

Backing dancers: grupa ABC - Krista Belova, Tīna Treiģe-Treide, Miķelis Ābols un Jānis Kolangs (choreograph Gints Skribāns), backing vocalists Sabīne Berezina (Īslīces popgrupa Sapnītis) and Mārtiņš Tālbergs (Ventspils popgrupa Jūras akmentiņi).

After Eurovision:
After taking part in "Young Stars" project in 2005, Dzintars had disappeared from the TV screens for several years and had returned to the limelight only in 2008 taking part in "Choir Wars" and shortly after releasing album with gypsy romances "Barvalu rom" in 2009. In 2010 followed single Uz tilta, and in 2011 started successful cooperation with Kaspars Antess. The duet has recorded hit "Atkal kopa", toured together in Latvia with "Together Again" program. In 2012 Dzintars also released single with old Latvian waltz "Vasara sauc".

Wind, O wind of the sea
Set our sandy footprints free
Wind that tears the waves alee
Sweep us into summertime

Can you hear the birds sing in the early hours,
Can you see the bee follow a path of flowers
Do you feel the earth breathing at night
You are, you are in summertime

Can you hear how the river sings its warm song
Can you see the white sea foam blossoming strong

FYR Macedonia - Marija (25.12.88) & Victorija (17.10.88) - Ti ne me poznavas

Marija is fourteen years old and has been singing since she was five. She is in two choirs - the Golden Bird choir for about eight years and has performed in many countries like France, Montenegro, Srbija, Italy, Greece and America and the Spring Wind choir and with them she has won many prizes in Europe.

Viktoria is fifteen and was born in Russia but moved to Macedonia when she was nine years old. She sings in the school choir and performs in festivals in Macedonia. She also goes to a Russian music company for kids every saturday called Kalina.

Interview with the FYR Macedonian team

junioreurovision.tv: What did you like best in Copenhagen? What is your feedback on the J-ESC event?
Everything was great in Copenhagen. The company, all the performances, the beautiful stage, the people, the whole town - everything.

junioreurovision.tv: What are your next plans?
We - all 7 of us (Marija, Viktorija, Irena, Bisera, Bojana, Elena and Mimi)! are planning to work hard for the music and ballet school.

junioreurovision.tv: How was your welcome back home (at school, in the media, with your family)?
It was wonderful. Everyone congratulated us; it started with our friends at school, and went on especially at home with our families, and with the journalists. The manager of Macedonia Television sent us his best wishes, too.

junioreurovision.tv: Give us an idea of how to write a song. How do you do it? What is the first thing to do? What do you have to take into consideration?
Irena: I’ve got ideas all the time. When I was in Copenhagen, I often had ideas for songs. It’s just a very spontaneous thing. It can be the surrounding, people, situations that inspire me. But the writing is always the same: First I write a text and after that, the music.

junioreurovision.tv: Where do you get the idea for a song?
I live near a lake, and often when I walk along the shore, an idea for a song comes up.

junioreurovision.tv: How do you develop the choreography for your songs? Is there any professional help involved?
Elena and Mimi (dancers): Both of us go to ballet school and get a professional education in dancing and doing choreographies. And of course, we have some experience and have done a lot of performances already. For new projects, we have a choreographer, Katerina Jolakovska. She helps us very much. She owns the ballet studio where we prepare our performances. For new projects, we start a long time beforehand – sometimes 4 months before the first show.

junioreurovision.tv: In your opinion , what character traits and / or knowledge is important as a musician / star in show biz?
For a perfect music performance, it is necessary to have a good song, good voices and singers, a good choreography and to be a team. We can only be good together.

Marija Arsovska (Lead Vocals)
Marija Arsovska has dedicated her life to singing. She’s been on stage for 8 years now, and with great success! Performances in France, Montenegro, Italy, Greece and the USA as well as prizes she has won in Spain, Portugal and Switzerland go to show that her competitors will really have to watch out.

Viktorija Loba (Lead Vocals)
Native-born Russian Viktorija regularly proves her musical talent in the school choir and at festivals in Skopje, where she’s been living since 1994.

Bojana Ilijoska / Bisera Ilijoska (Backing Vocals)
Marija and Viktorija are getting support from the twin sisters Bojana and Bisera. Both have music flowing through their veins, and their most fervent wish is to become famous singers. So what would be more obvious than to join a music academy for solo-vocalists soon???!!!

Irena Galabovska (Music, Lyrics, Backing Vocals)
Irenas imagination is not only the source of the lyrics for the Macedonian contribution 2003, but also that of the music. But it doesn’t stop there: Irena will also be on stage in Copenhagen as one of the backing vocalists. And it still doesn’t stop here: Would you believe that Irena taught herself how to read music and write songs!
Whenever she is on her 40-minute way to or from school in her little home town Bitola in the South of Macedonia , taking a walk around the lake, or meeting friends, Irena thinks about new songs – composing music in her head and making up lyrics.

Elena Maksimovska (Dancer)
Cool outfits and fashion are her life – as far as that goes, Elena is pretty much a regular girl. Pretty much...but not quite. Because there is something that other girls her age definitely envy her for. It is something to get up on your toes for... because Elena dances ballet with a passion. And with success: performances in operas, ballets and at festivals in Poland, the USA and in Serbia go to prove that. And once again, on stage in Copenhagen, Elena will prove that she’s got the rhythm in her blood.

Mirjana Nikolovska (Dancer)
Mirjana dances! And has been for the past 8 years! And she’ll keep on!
What with her education in modern dance and jazz-ballet, Mirjana often hardly finds the time for her second great passion – learning English! Every summer she packs up her stuff and goes over to London, where she attends a summer school.
For Copenhagen, Mirjana’s parents and her older brother keep their fingers crossssed for her!

In 2004 Viktorija Loba won the festival Roza vetrov in Moscow. In early 2007 she became member of the duet Taboo with Tea Bogatinova and has recorded with it hit "Abrakadabra", but in May had to leave the band being replaced by Marija Arsova, other member of Eurovision duet. In meanwhile, Marija has finished 2nd in "M2 searches for stars" show after Lambe Alabakovski. Taboo shortly disbanded for good, and Viktorija has started her solo career and also was active as model. She was first cooperating with Robert Bilibov, releasing several duet tracks or tracks produced by him and in 2012 has signed contract to work with Tito S and started working on a debut album.

I hear a voice coming from somewhere
I walk on your shadow just to find you
I hear strange words and verses, and my heat trembles
I'll find my star that calls me

You don't know me
I am not your goddess
I heard your voice coming from somewhere
You don't know me
I am not your goddess
I'd do everything just to find you

You are my icon, and every day I dream about you
in my warm embrace I only miss you
I hear strange words and verses, and my heat trembles
I'll find my star that calls me
I want to be your friend
And bring a smile upon your face
I want to hold your hand
When tomorrow is today

We have never met before
We are languages apart
But we're sharing something more
That's the rhythm of our hearts

You and I we must remind them
What they've lost along the way
'Cause the friendship is a wisdom
It's a magic thing to say

I want to be your friend
And bring a smile upon your face
I want to hold your hand
When tomorrow is today

I want to be your friend
Together we can learn and play
We`ll share the future when
When tomorrow is today

Full of hope the world is
In the hands of every girl and boy
It is up to us to fill it up
With happiness and joy

You and I we must remind them
What they`ve lost along the way
`Cause the friendship is a wisdom
It`s a magic thing to say

Together we can learn and play
When tomorrow is the day

Gdy codziennie słonko wschodzi ranny ptaszek arie słodzi tanczą osy w kroplach rosy ale bal!
Bury bączek basem bzyka, mnie porywa ta muzyka
Płyną tony w rozne strony, wszystko gra!
Ja słucham od rana jak zaczarowana, uważam, by czegoś nie spłoszyc
Lecz stania mam dosyc, zaczyna mnie nośic
Wiec tancze choc jeszcze zaspana

Moje skrzypki same grają do koncertu zapraszają
Czy słyszycie? serca bicie tak jak ja!
Ja słucham od rana jak zaczarowana uważam, by czegos nie spłoszyc,
Lecz stania mam dosyc, zaczyna mnie nosic wiec tancze choc jeszcze zaspana

Every morning when the sun comes up, an early bird sings its sweet song
Wasps buzz about among dewdrops, what a ball!
A brownish bumble-bee whizzes in bass, and I get carried away by this music
Sounds are everywhere, everything sings!
Right from the morning I listen enchanted, careful not to startle
But I can stand no more, something makes me bustle about,
So I dance though my eyes are still sleepy

Refrain:
I like dancing, I like singing, I've got what I need - good ear for music
Let'em climb trees, my buddy boys, let'em try dudes, my buddy girls
When classes are over, I start my concert, cause every pupil's my fan
When they tire of me, they've got to beg me.
Why are you so high, Kate? Come on!

When the nature is harmonious, even thieves are amiable
The whole world's silent, listening
My fiddle starts playing, inviting for a concert
Can you hear the heart beating as I can?
Right from the morning I listen enchanted, careful not to startle,
But I can stand no more, something makes me bustle about, so I dance though my eyes are still sleepy.

Come on!
Why are you so high, Kate? Come on!
)Norway - 2U - Sinnsykt gal forelsket (Madly crazy about you)

Charlot and Joakim, both eleven, have known each other since they were four years old. They live in Stavanger - Norway's fourth largest city located on the southwest coast.

Charlot and Joakim wanted to write about something that is equally important to girls and boys. They wrote three topics each on notes that they passed to each other. Since both of them had written about being in love the decision was easy! They wrote one verse each and Joakim came up with the melody.

Charlot
Charlot likes different kinds of music. Some of her favourite artists are M2M, Britney Spears and S Club 7. Charlots main interests are handball, children’s theater, singing and playing football with her friends. She also watches a lot of movies and her favourite film is “Grease".

Charlot has two eight-year-old twin brothers. Sometimes they quarrel, but mostly they get along fine. Charlot has been to China twice and thought it was amazing. She even speaks a little Chinese! Charlot has no problems getting up in the morning to go to school, but she does not like putting on a lot of clothes during winter. Summer is her favourite season. Charlot likes going to school, and gym is the class she likes the most.

Charlots dream is to be a pop star, because it sounds like so much fun! She loves to be on stage and has been performing for as long as she can remember.

Joakim
Joakim likes rap, techno and all kinds of music – as long as it’s not too quiet and slow. Currently Joakim is reading the Harry Potter books, which he think is really exiting. He is also a big film fan, and naturally he especially likes the Harry Potter films. In the summer Joakim skateboards and plays football and during the winter he likes to go skiing and snowboarding. He also plays the drums, which is very good exercise. Joakim has a brother who is two years younger, and baby sister born in April.

Joakim loves to sing and perform, and he is really looking forward to standing on stage with Charlot in Denmark!

After Eurovision:
Charlot Daysh was a guest reviewer for ESCKAZ' JESC 2011 ranking.
"After participating in the Junior Eurovision Song contest I received an Honorary Award from my hometown for winning in Norway. Since then I have actively worked with singing and modeling. I was offered a record contract with West Records and released a solo album called "Charlot". I made a music video for one of the songs "Up and down". All of the songs are available on Spotify. I have performed many different places in Norway with my CD. I also preformed at a big fund raising concert with a Norwegian Idol participant, and together we recorded a cover version of the song "Winter Wonderland". I have also recorded another Christmas song "Every time its Christmas" for the most popular mix CD for children in Norway. In 2009 I started to work as an instructor for the Norwegian Show School, teaching singing, dancing and acting. Besides singing, song writing is a big passion of mine and I write all the time". Blog

In 2009 Joakim has joined group "Partytrooperz" as vocalist and released with it several digital singles, including  "Pretty Face", "Tie on Your Head", "You're Disgusting" (feat. Manila) and "Lovebirds", all of which he also wrote. He has also been active as composer, writing songs for Toby & Helfner, Vivax and others, as well as DJ remixing several projects, and becoming head of production at Hitnation Music. In 2011 he had also composed anbd produced song "Hand in hand" in memory of victims of Utoya shootings. In addition to music competed in 2008-2011 in several weightlifting championships, becoming team champion of Norway and Nordic countries in 2008. Soundcloud

But I am too shy

(Charlot) Look at the boy over there, what a handsome guy
I would like to go to him
But not yet, because he is so cute
I don't dare to ask him
What if he says no?
Then I would be so sad
Then he would hurt me
Do you think he likes me?

(Joakim) Do I dare to say hello?
I am afraid that you will think that I am strange

)Spain - Sergio (Jesús García Gil) (19/10/91) - Desde el cielo (From Heaven)

Sergio Jesus Garcia Gil was born on the 19th of October 1991 in Sanlъcar de Barrameda, a beautiful vallage besides the sea in Andalusia. He loves music, football, video games and animals. His passion for music was originated following the first edition of Operacion Triunfo, although he already used to sing in festivals at his school.

Sergio recorded a demo when he went to the casting for Eurojunior, the programme for the Spanish national selection. However, he never expected to be among the thirteen finalists, and even less to win the competition. It has been the most wonderful experience that he has ever enjoyed. He likes specially the relationship that he has lived with his companions, which has given him the chance to release the best of himself.

Sergio has a little four years old brother. His father works in the construction industry. His mother passed away recently. To her Sergio devotes his song “From the heaven”.

With a very personal ballad, Sergio convinced his Spanish countrymen and –women at the national precontest for Copenhagen. With his song „Desde el Cielo“(„From Heaven“), Sergio not only tries to cope with the death of his mother, but also shows the power that the memory of her gives him. Through her, he feels closer to heaven... On the 15th of November, Sergio will have his chance to reach for the stars in the Danish capital.

After Eurovision:
After the show Sergio, with his other colleagues from Eurojunior 2003 Diego, Blanca, Maria and Irune formed band 3+2. It has released 4 albums, DVD, extensively toured the country and took part in TV shows including Eurojunior 2004-2006 shows. In 2007 Blanca left the group in order to study architecture and was replaced by Ursula Ma Amores Ruiz. After 2007 tour it was decided to dissolve the band. Sergio never returned to public eye, though in 2009 Maria and Diego have attempted a comeback with duet Juego de Dos.

junioreurovision.tv: Hi, Sergio, what do you think of the Tivoli?
Sergio: It’s great! Especially the roller coaster – I absolutely love it! I rode it twice right away!

junioreurovision.tv: Apart from singing, which you obviously love doing (Sergio nods and beams!)- what hobby do you enjoy most?
Sergio: Definitely playing soccer!

junioreurovision.tv: What do you like best about your stay here in Copenhagen so far?
Sergio: Well, it’s exciting, of course. And I like the people I meet, they’re very nice people with open hearts. I’m glad I met them!

junioreurovision.tv: Have you made a lot of friends among the other participants?
Sergio: Yes, I have, though it’s difficult sometimes because of all the different languages. But we’re having a lot of fun!

junioreurovision.tv: And do you get a little bit nervous when you think of the show on Saturday?
Sergio: No, not really…well, maybe just a little bit, but that’s good, because that gives me that little kick I need to do a good show. Nothing serious, though!

junioreurovision.tv: Ok, Sergio – thank you very much, and good luck!

Hoy es el día de mi aniversario,
he cumplido ya los doce años
y tan sólo un deseo me persigue.

En un día así tú me esperaste
en un día así tú me abrazaste
y ahora sólo un deseo me persigue.

Que desde el cielo
tú me mires,
no te he dejado de esperar.

Que desde el cielo
tú me mimes
yo no te dejaré de amar.

Cada noche yo me escapo a verte,
las estrellas son mis confidentes
sé que en alguna estrella tú me esperas.

Necesito tanto tus palabras,
me hace falta lo que tú me dabas,
y ahora sólo un deseo me persigue.

Que desde el cielotú me mires,
no te he dejado de esperar.

Que desde el cielo
tú me mimes
yo no te dejaré de amar.

Que desde el cielo
tú me mires,
no te he dejado de esperar.

Que desde el cielo
tú me mimes
yo no te olvidaré mamá.

Arrangement by Alejandro Abad

Today is my birthday
I am already twelve years old
And one only wish chases me

One day like today you waited for me
One day like today you coddled me
And now one only wish chases me:

That from heaven
You look at me
I never stopped waiting for you

That from heaven
You fondle me
I will never stop loving you

Every night I escape to see you
The stars are my confidants
I know that in one of those stars you are waiting for me

I need your words so much
I need what you used to give me
And now, one only wish chases me.

That from heaven
You look at me
I never stopped waiting for you

That from heaven
You fondle me
I will never forget you
Romania - Bubu & Co. - Tobele sunt viata mea (Drums are my life)

It’s this thing with drummers. Every pop band has one, but they’re seldom in the spot light. Who gets to be the star of the band is something the singer and the guitarist usually settle between themselves. But this could change quickly: now there’s Bubu. Rumania’s representative in the J-ESC is a drummer, and one of the greatest fresh talents of his country.
Music has come naturally to Bubu, aka Andrei Mihai Cernea; after all, his parents are very well-known musicians in Rumania. Like his father, the famous percussionist Mihai Cernea, Bubu has fallen for the drums. But, thanks to his mother, he’s also been playing the piano since he was five, which helps him compose his songs.

In Copenhagen, Bubu will perform the song „Tobele sunt Viata Mea“. He’ll be supported by his “girl group”, consisting of Ana Vera, Giulia, and Lavinia. The three girls are enthusiastic dancers, and will take care of providing the right show for Bubu’s performance.

Especially Giulia and Lavinia, the two native-born Italian twin sisters, are real whirlwinds on stage. And Ana Vera and Bubu can look back on a long friendship – they met on the set of a TV series. Apart from that, their mothers have been friends for years.

But Bubu doesn’t just appear in front of the camera to sing. He’s been hosting TV shows since 1998, among them one of Rumania’s most well-known children’s programmes, Kiki Riki Miki. But after three years of this, Bubu is now looking for new things to do, and so, at the moment, he prefers presenting children’s festivals and talent shows like Tip Top Mini Top.
His songs and TV career have made Bubu one of the most sought-after comers of his country. And in Copenhagen, he will prove that drummers can be in the limelight, too.

Mihai Cernea "Bubu" - "Muzica"

Jury: Cornel Fugaru, George Natsis, Viorel Gavrila (composers), Alina Sorescu, Sabrina Manoliu, Diana Dedita, Beatrice Soare, Daniel Mihaly Pop (children), Diana Popescu (Adevarul), Anca Nicoleanu (Evenimentul Zilei), Dragos Vasile (Academia Catavencu), Florin Ghioca (National), Alex Revenco (Independent), Razvan Popescu, Andrei Partos, Eugen Rusu (Radio), Dan Manoliu, Liviu Elekes, Cezara Dorobantu-Radulescu (TVR)

Andrei Mihai Cernea was born in Nijmegen, Netherlands, on January 20th, 1994. Both of Bubu’s parents are musicians, and Bubu travelled all around Europe until the age of 3, when his parents once again re-established themselves in their native Romania.
At the tender age of two and a half, Bubu’s parents discovered his astonishing aptitude for playing the drums. At that point, Bubu received a real drum set as a gift, and from there on the progress was exponential, thanks to his own natural talent as well as to the lessons he took from his legendary father, Mihai Cernea, one of the most well-known musicians in Romania. When he was four years old, Bubu began to study playing the piano with his equally well-known mother. His first songs were composed in his father’s professional studio when Bubu was six. Bubu’s first public drumming performance took place on Romanian television’s top rated show “Surprise, Surprise” in 1999 with an exceptional drum solo. Ever since then, Bubu has performed all over the country with Romania’s top drummers, and has even been as far as Spain, to appear on TVE, the Spanish National Television!

His favourite musicians are Mike Portnoy (Member of Dream Theatre – whom he met in person a year ago in Romania) an David Weckel (ex-Weather Report and Chick Korea). Bubu constantly works with both of these musicians’ instructional DVDs, and his progress is unbelievable. In the beginning of 2003, Bubu founded an alternative rock band called 4 Ѕ, that he rehearses with on a daily basis. They hope to bring out a record some time next year.

Bubu laid the basis for his fame in 1998, when he became the host of the top rated children’s morning show Kiki Riki Miki. He did this for 3 years, and then went on to host other children’s festivals such as Tip Top Mini Top. He is considered Romania’s top talent in music and television.

At present, Bubu is a 4th grade student at the Dinu Lipati School of music, Piano Section. He also enjoys swimming and playing tennis, and he adores watching movies. His dream is to one day meet Emma Thompson or the girl playing Hermione in the Harry Potter series.

Bubu met the three girls of “Bubu & Co.” on the set when he was filming one of his numerous TV programmes. The children became friends there and decided to create the group.

The Girls

Ana Vera was born in Sibiu, Romania, on the 21st of September, 1994. She has been playing the piano since she was four, and she has started taking ballet classes at the same time. She speaks German as well as Romanian, and she is a 3rd grade student at the German school in Sibiu. Ana Vera had met Bubu before entering the world of show business as the two kids’ mothers have been close friends for years. In 1999, Ana Vera and Bubu participated in a well-known TV show for children, singing and dancing together.

Giulia and Lavinia are twins; they were born on the 9th of February, 1994, in Via Reggio, Italy.
From the age of five, the two girls have been studying music at a private school in Bucharest. They both study dance, and have started taking piano classes a year ago. Their hobbies are swimming and basketball, they speak Italian perfectly, and, due to their mother being a passionate hobby photographer, they both have various albums of professionally taken pictures. The girls’ goals are to become famous film stars, and they both love pizza, which they learned to prepare from their Italian father.

After Eurovsion:
From high school orchestra to the stage of "Latin Grammy Awards", in which he took part with Ovidiu Lipan Tandarica. Bubu has joined a rock band X-plod (later joined by Ioana Anuta from JESC 2009 as lead singer), with which he got on the stages of famous festivals in Austria and Germany and released one album "Noaptea lupilor". Now Bubu joined the  "La-La Band", the brand new musical project of MediaPro Music and TV series "Pariu cu viata" on PRO TV with several other Romanian ex-JESC contestants.

Ce pot face
Muzica imi place
Tobele sunt viata mea
Fac de toate
Altfel nu se poate
Cine m-ar aplauda

Punte: Uneori imi vine
Sa zic: nu pot!
Temele din minti ma scot
Dar stiu foarte bine
N-am timp sa stau
Si nici sa fac ce vreau

Refren: Pare usor
Dar nu-i deloc
Muzica nu e un joc
Chiar de e greu
Eu rad mereu
Scena-i sufletul meu

Merg la scoala
Si apoi la sala
Cu baietii sa repet
Fac de toate
Stau si-nvat la mate
Maine am teza si concert

Uneori imi vine
Sa zic: nu pot!
Temele din minti ma scot
Dar stiu foarte bine
N-am timp sa stau
Si nici sa fac ce vreau

Pare usor
Dar nu-i deloc
Muzica nu e un joc
Chiar de e greu
Eu rad mereu
Scena-i sufletul meu
What can I do
If I like music
Drums are my life
I do all kind of things
I can't do anything

Bridge: Sometimes I want to say: I CAN'T!
My homework is driving me crazy
But I know very well
That I have no time to stay
And that I can't do what I want

Chorus:
It seem easy
But it isn't
Music it is not a game
It is really hard
I always laugh
The stage it is my soul

I'm going to school
And then to the gym
I'm rehearsing with my band
I do everything
I'm studying for math
Tomorrow I have an exam and a concert

Bridge:
Sometimes I want to say: I CAN'T!
My homework is driving me crazy
But I know very well
That I have no time to stay
And that I can't do what I want

Chorus:
It seem easy
But it isn't
Music it is not a game
It is really hard
I always laugh
The stage it is my soul

X!NK is the group that will represent Belgium at the first Junior Eurovision Song Contest. X!NK is the name of a product used in fly-fishing. Replace the ‘I’ with an ‘!’ and you get a drum-and-guitar-based rock band, a group of cool, dynamic dudes who have already penned more than 60 songs!
X!NK consists of two sets of brothers: lead singer Jonas (13) and drummer Niels (12), on the one hand, and guitarist Thomas (12) and bass player Philip (10) on the other. X!NK was founded in March 2002 by the three older boys. Philip joined them early this year.
The four members of X!NK are big fans of international artists such as Metallica, but they also love the Belgian punk band Janez Detd. The song they are performing, written especially for the Belgian preselections, is a little less ‘rough’ than those they usually write. It is called “A band of friends” and describes the creation and the evolution of X!NK: the brothers met each other at a party, turned out to all be crazy about music, formed a band and became friends for life. X!NK wrote the music and lyrics of “A band of friends” and played all of the instruments in the recording studio. Their great regret is that the performances on stage in Copenhagen will not be live.
X!NK has already performed to an audience of 20,000 youngsters at “Pennenzakkenrock” (Pencil Case Rock), the largest Belgian festival for kids. Their great dream is to perform at the world famous Werchter rock festival, where groups such as U2 and Simple Minds first became great.

In short: the four members of X!NK have the enthusiasm, the charisma and the stage experience to make the Junior Eurovision Song Contest a successful adventure!

"De vriendschapsband", a very special kind of tie of friendship is what X!NK are tying – the Belgian contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen.
If you’re expecting the "Ring around the Rosy" from this song now, you are sadly mistaken. In fact, what the Belgian punk quartet is thinking of is getting closer to their Danish audience by stage diving.

Let’s wait and see then whether the four of X!NK will manage to pull off a smooth landing or crash…

After Eurovision:
X!NK launched their second single, named "Oh-Ho" in the beginning of 2004, signing deal with EMI Capitol. Later that year their first album, containing twelve songs was released. The album went gold in Flanders (the Dutch language area of Belgium).
X!NK often performed at rock festivals in Belgium (for example Marktrock in Leuven). In 2004, they released the song "Laat Me Vrij" (Let Me Free) which served as the theme song for the film Garfield in Flemish cinemas. For the sequel to Ice Age, Ice Age: The Meltdown which debuted in Flemish cinemas on 31 March 2006, they recorded the song "De Andere Kant" (The Other Side) which served as the theme song for this film. Lead singer Jonas also provided the Dutch voice for the character Jimmy the Anteater in the film.
Their second album Vergif (Poison) was released on 30 September 2005. In 2006 they released the single De Andere Kant and played a bunch of shows such as Maanrock, Lokerse Feesten and 0110 (Ghent). The last X!nk project was release of theme song for Junior Eurosong 2007 - "Give Us A Future", all in all after JESC they've released 2 full albums and 8 singles. Myspace
Since then, members have concentrated on the other projects. Lead singer Jonas now sings for indie band Get Off My Shoes and studies musical management, while Thomas & Niels play in The Crackups, Niels plays also in All Demons Have Distortion.

Het begon toen ik een kleuter was
Twee dikke vrienden, in dezelfde klas

* arranged by Paul de Spiegelaere

It began when I was still an infant
Two good friends, in the same class
They were soul mates, side by side
And then I joined them
He moved away, the friendship seemed lost
Then he became the chosen one
They began to play together, it clicked
And the drummer drummed

A band is a bond that never breaks
Not even by accident
You see, they have each other
Together they always manage

They met again at a party
Then the band was reunited
He walked over to him, he had a guitar
He was a drummer, no doubt about it

The band and the bond both grew and grew
Perpetual motion, no motor needed
It never broke down, it just kept on going
It never came to an end

The band and the bond both grew and grew
Perpetual motion, no motor needed
It never broke down, it just kept on going
It never came to an end
United Kingdom - Tom Morley (12/06/93) - My song for the world

Ten year old Tom lives in Cumbria. About two years ago, Tom started scribbling lyrics down whenever they came into his head. It wasn't until this year that he finally put a song together - the end product being "My Song For The World". His inspiration for this song came from watching news reports of the Gulf War. Tom says he equally loves singing and writing. His currently learning how to play the guitar and his favourite singing star is Marti Pellow.

It all start when Tom was only 7 years old. He was asked to sing at his school for the head mistress who was retiring.
He sang the theme tune to 'Titanic' and there was not one dry eye in the hall. He just blew everyone away with his singing voice.

Bigger and better things was about to come Tom's way. At the age of 8, he made a last minute decision to try out for a place with the 'S Club Juniors' in Glasgow.
Tom met Nicki Chapman who told him he had the strongest voice. Tom got through to the final 20 but did not go any further because he was considered to be too small.
Tom entered a few talent contests and did very well.
He won a weekend in London at the CBBC Studios where he met Jamie Ricketts and Otis after singing Michael Jackson's hit, 'Ben'.

Tom was asked by his voice coach if he would like to sing a song he wrote. He agreed and recorded a double A Side CD for Cancer research. My Mothers Arms and Through the Eyes of a Child was a big hit and raised more than Ј1000 in less than 2 months and sales are still going strong.

Tom has the backing of his family; his older brother Jacky, who even helps Tom with backing vocals sometimes - Tom has another older brother called Jim, a younger sister called Demi and not forgetting Tom's pet dog, Machi.

Participant's name: Tom Morley
My place and date of birth: Whitehaven, Cumbria. 12th June 1993.
Colour of my eyes: Brown
My astrological sign: Gemini
Colour of my hair: Black
My height: 4 feet, 4 inches
I have 2 brothers and 1 sister
My favourite band or artist is: Justin Timberlake & Michael Jackson
My favourite food: Roast beef dinner
My favourite Film: The Mummy
What music means to me: My life
I would like to meet Justin Timberlake or Michael Jackson because they are great performers.
For no money in the world would I give up singing.
I am perfect in – I don’t think I am perfect at anything.
I absolutely can’t understand why people fight against each other.
My favourite subject at school is maths and geography.
My biggest fear is flying.
I can cook beans on toast.
My friends say that my worst character trait is talking too much.
If I win the J-ESC contest, this is what I would like to say to the other participants …I would just like to say that there are no losers here tonight – only winners.
Anything else I would like to mention ... It has been an honour to represent my country in the first ever children’s Eurovision Song Contest. I am very proud.

After Eurovision:
Tom attended the Harecroft school in Gosforth for three years, then he moved to Westlakes Academy in Egremont where he studied German and Science.
Tom has visited many places with his singing, Romania (Golden Star Festival), Malta, Egypt (performing for First Lady of Egypt), Sweden and Denmark to name but a few. Tom has opened the official Eurovision party in Brighton in 2004, where ABBA won the Eurovision 30 years prior. When he was 14 he made it through to the X Factor but had to pull out as he just missed the age deadline.
Since then Tom has moved to Stockholm in Sweden, and shortly reappeared in 2010 preparing come back, which didn't happen. Myspace

When I wake up early in the morning
Until I go to bed at night
Peace is always what I dream of
Is it somewhere in sight

So tonight I'll close my eyes
And fly so high across the skies
And with the world held in my hand
I'll sing for souls throughout the land

If I became a star
I'd try so hard
To move this world with my heart
Singing songs of hope and peace
So people know it can be achieved
And so tonight I'll sing my song for the world

When I'm in bed and I'm dreaming
Of how it could be without war
No more fighting no hurting
And no more suffering anymore
I hope that all around the world
Every boy and every girl
Will sleep tonight with peace and love
In the hearts forever more
Denmark - Anne Gadegaard - Arabiens drøm (Arabian dream)

Some fairy tales out of the Arabian Nights really are set in the cold north, or rather, in Risskov, a small town near Arhus in Denmark. This is where 11-year-old Anne Gadegaard discovers her talent as a singer and song writer, and sets her mind on leaving behind the competition in the J-ESC precontest in Copenhagen on the 3rd of May of this year. A dream? Not so!
Inspired by Disney’s wonderful film “Aladdin”, the young talent writes the song “Arabiens drøm“ (“Arabian Dreams”), and wins the precontest with a clear gap between herself and the next runner-up. What sounds like a fairy tale is really the result of talent and early ambition.

More than in the CD racks of other girls her age, in Annes collection there already are stacks of pop CDs, her idols are pros like Kelly Rowland and Justin Timberlake. After her interest in music and singing has been formed early on, Anne adds her love of dancing, something she also proves as a figure skater on ice.

Tirelessly, she writes songs about things in her life that move her – examples are „Prinsessene p?r is“ (The Princess On Ice), „Min bedste ven“ (My best Friend), or „Festen“ (Party).

On weekends, Anne’s favourite pastime is performing with her friends and backing dancers Julie Thomsen, 12, and Sophia Evers, 12, who already rocked the house with their talent as dancers in the Danish Funk/Hip-Hop Dance Championship and who also supported Anne in the precontest. And of course, there are now even more performances since they won.

An audience of 9,000 in the Forum in Copenhagen, millions of TV viewers at home, international competition from all over Europe – a welcome challenge for the sworn trio of friends. Concentrated and all pro, for Anne this atmosphere is what really makes her go out and do the best she can.

And there is an advantage: You can make new friends who have the same interests as you. Anne is now friends with a lot of the participants of the J-ESC precontest, and after the exciting J-ESC weekend, all participants of the Danish preselection will meet to exchange news and stories.

Despite her life in the limelight, which Anne has been used to since her early childhood, she is still the friendly girl from next door. To keep it this way, she is sheltered in the circle of her parents and her two brothers. Apart from this, when school, singing and figure skating leave her a bit of spare time, she spends every minute she has taking care of animals, whom her heart belongs to.

So it’s along these lines that her “serious” job ambitions go, in case things with a career as a singer shouldn’t work out – something no one really believes in, though: to be a veterinarian or a caretaker in a zoo are top of her list. And whoever has met Anne knows that she will make it there, too. On the 3rd of November, all of Europe will have proof of her talent.

Today, she is one of the latest and youngest stars Denmark has: Anne Gadegaard, 11 years old and living in Risskov near Aarhus, Denmark's second largest town.

Inspired by - among others - the Disney movie “Aladdin”, she one day sat down to write a song with a very strong Arabian flavour to it, and called it “Arabiens drom” (“Arabian Dream”), in order to participate in the Danish song contest for children, MGP 2003.

And did she win? Yes, she did! And with maximum points from nearly all voters.

Since then, she has been very busy touring with the song - and writing down ideas for new songs. About having a very good friend (“Min bedste ven”, “My Best Friend”), figure skating as a hobby (“Prinsesserne pе is”, “The Princesses on Ice”), arranging a party for her friends (“Festen”, “The Party”), dreaming of Mr. Right (“Dine шjne blе”, “Your Blue Eyes”) - and about a pair of dogs (“Choco og Nugga”, “Choco and Nugga”).
For besides music and figure skating, her No. 1 interest is animals. If she doesn't succeed in making it as a singer and performer on a full scale, she wants to get an education as a veterinary surgeon or as a zoo keeper.

Out of all her hobbies, singing and listening to music comes first. According to her parents, not many children her age have so many albums of music in their collection - and she still keeps on wanting more for birthdays and Christmas.
She may seem young - and she is young - but becoming famous over night hasn't affected or changed her. She is still a normal 11-year-old Danish school girl with a not-so-normal job as a singer and performer on weekends.
And the thought of performing in front of 9,000 spectators at the Forum in Copenhagen - plus the millions of TV viewers all around Europe !- doesn't make her nervous in the least.
Back home in Risskov, she has her parents, her two brothers and many friends to “keep her feet on the ground”.

And though, of course, MGP is a competition, somehow the children participating in it and their parents have made it grow into much more than that!
Today, many of the participants have made new friends, thanks to MGP. Anne also has managed to keep in touch with a couple of the other girls, and in a few weeks, all the children participating in MGP 2003 are going to meet to have a fun and
comfy weekend, all arranged by the parents of one of the participants, Linette.
So the everyday life of Anne these days is a lot like a fairy tale- a fairy tale of fame and friendship.

After Eurovision:
Anne Gadegaard has released four albums (Arabians drøm (2003), Ini Mini Miny (2004), Chiki Chiki (2005), Annes Jul (2006)) and greatest hits compilation (De første og Største hits (2006)). In 2007, Gadegaard toured Italy. In 2008, she collaborated with Nicolai Kielstrup, Amalie, Sebastian and Mathias y Mark (Join Us) in the song called "En Verden Til Forskel". In 2008, plans for a sixth studio album were cancelled and Anne has disappeared from the limelight for a while. In September 2010 she had returned under stage name "Anne G" with single "Blah Blah". myspace

Anne's Interview
about the J-ESC event and next plans

junioreurovision.tv: What did you like best in Copenhagen? What is your feedback to the J-ESC event?
I liked it all. The only thing is that I wish there were more time to get to know the other children. It would also be great going to the other European countries and perform together.

junioreurovision.tv: What are your next plans?
My hopes are to get out performing a lot with the songs from my new CD. I would also love to make another album.

junioreurovision.tv: How was your welcoming home (at school, in the media, with your family)?
Everybody said, it was super ending as no. 5.

junioreurovision.tv: Where do you get the idea for a song?
The idea for my song was fairytales, Aladdin etc. I wrote down at lot of words and tried make them rhyme. Then I asked my uncle to help me with the music, I’m not good with notes, but have played piano and listenes to a lot of music.

junioreurovision.tv: How do you develop the choreography for your songs? Is there any professional help?
My uncle also helped me with the choreography. He has been a dancer for several years.

junioreurovision.tv: Which character traits / knowledge are – in your opinion - important as a musician / star in show biz?
The most important doing this is to have lot of fun and to have great funny people around you.
Christmas with Anne

junioreurovision.tv: Hallo Anne, how do you celebrate Christmas?

Every Sunday in December me and my family are together and have a gift-game. We are a very big family. On the 24th me, my family and all my mother’s sisters go to the cemetery and light a candle for my mom’s grandmother. Afterwards we visit those from the family we shouldn’t see on Christmas Eve, and give them there presents. So on that day I’ll get a lot of candy...
After eating dinner, we walk around the christmas tree and sing. Then we get presents.
Then we go to the cemetery and light a candle for min grandfather. It’s very nice with all the lighted candles in the night.
And then we go home again and have ris а l’amande, where there’s a present for the one, who finds the almond.

junioreurovision.tv: What is your favourite X-Mas song?
I don’t have a favourite x-mas song.

junioreurovision.tv: Is there a special meal you have for Christmas? Can you give us the receipe?!
We always have duck, roast pork, brown sauce, potatoes, red cabbage etc.

junioreurovision.tv: What is your deepest wish for Christmas?
I hope to get an elevation bed.
junioreurovision.tv: Dear Anne, we keep our fingers crossed for you!
Anne’s diary
Wednesday, November 5th
Dear Diary
It’s been a while since I last wrote, but I’ve been so busy.
Last Friday I performed in Ballerup, Saturday I was interviewed by the magazine “Her & Nu”, Sunday I was in Fredericia to perform, and Monday I gave an interview to the magazine “Billed Bladet”.
Besides that, we are working on our stage outfits for the J-ESC. My mum is sewing both mine and my dancers’ clothes. It’s so great that we can make all of it ourselves, so everything will be exactly the way we want it to be.
This Friday, it’s my birthday! I’m so exited about it. All my family will be there. And then there isn’t much time left until we’re going to Copenhagen. Actually, it’s on Tuesday already! It’s going to be so exciting to meet all the other participants. There’ll be a lot of fun things to do during our stay, so I’m sure it will be great.
Love, Anne

Monday, November 10th
Dear Diary
Last Friday it was my birthday, and it was a really great day. We had a lot of relatives
visiting, and I got a lot of great gifts :-)
This weekend we had more visitors, but we also practised our dance, both at home and at a dance studio.
Tomorrow we are going to Copenhagen. We are taking the train at noon, then we are picked up and taken to the hotel. I am looking forward to meeting all the other participants. And to listen to their songs! I’ve heard all of them on TV before, but it’s different when they’re live on stage. From what I’ve heard, some of them are great songs.
There’s a lot going on at my home. The costumes aren’t exactly as they should be, so my mum is re-doing them. I hope she will manage, because we are talking 7 costumes here!
There ‘s also a lot for me to do, so I’ll start packing now.
Love, Anne

Wednesday 12th November
Dear Diary
Yesterday we arrived in Copenhagen. The train got there at 3, so we had to hurry to the hotel, drop off our luggage and rush on to the Radiohouse, where were supposed to give an interview. And we had to finish up before the Welcoming Reception at 9 at Frederiksberg Town Hall.
Even though it was a busy day, it was so great finally being there and especially seeing everybody at the reception. I talked to Theodora from Cyprus a lot when I performed in Greece, so it was good seeing her again. But also Shout, Razz, B-boys (participants in the Danish song contest) and the crew from the Danish song contest, because there are a lot of the same people here again.
(By the way - I forgot to tell you that I was at Shout’s release party last Thursday. It was a great party! They arrived in limousines and everything!)
Today I’m going to the Forum to rehearse. It’s going to be exciting to be up on the big stage. And maybe I can see some of the others rehearse, too.
Will write again later.
Love, Anne

Sunday 16th November
Dear Diary
Now it’s Sunday and the J-ESC is over. It was the best experience I could have wished for! I’m very satisfied with being number 5. The very best about the evening was the audience. They supported me so much! It was a crowd already at the dress rehearsals, but yesterday it was crazy. To imagine so many people cheering for me! The applause we were met with when we went up on stage, when we went off the stage, when we received points - it was amazing, and there were banners and flags ... It was so cool to perform at the Forum last night (thank you so much, everybody who was there!)
I think Dino, the winner, was brilliant. Everybody was good, but the top ones really were pros...
It’s been a really good and fun week. During the days before the show we had a lot of great experiences. A lot of things had been arranged for us. Can you believe we went to the Tivoli and had the whole park to ourselves! After the J-ESC, there was an after party at Copenhagen City Hall. It was great! Everybody was feeling great (some had been a bit unhappy back at the Forum...), and I didn’t want to go to bed. It was almost 2 in the morning before we finally went back to the hotel!
Unfortunately, it’s all over now... I just hope I can perform more in the future - it’s so much fun!
Lots of love Anne

Sweden - The Honeypies - Stoppa mig! (Stop me!)

The Honeypies is made of two girls, Julia Urbán (11 years old) and Rebecca Laakso (10 years old).
The winning song “Stoppa mig!” (“Stop me!”) is composed by Rebecca Laakso.

Julia and Rebecca are close friends. In the sparetime Julia enjoys riding horses, playing tennis, singing, acting and dancing. Julia has once sung and danced in front of a few thousand people at a market/local festival. Rebecca’s interests are to sing and act, and practise boxing. Rebecca has, at age 7, performed in the Swedish show “Smеstjдrnorna” (“Little stars”) on channel 4, where she mimed to one of Britney Spears’ songs. Julia was then in the audience, and it was after the show that the two girls started their friendship, thanks to their mothers who introduced them to eachother. Not only Julia and Rebecca are good friends, so are their mothers. Julia and Rebecca are two giggling girls, often doing or saying crazy things. Rebecca likes the colour pink and Julia likes blue.

Can you stop me now? Can you find me now?
Can you tell me where I am?
No no no, you can never know
If I'm out or if I'm in
You can never know if I'm here.
But you know you can't stop me now and you can't find me now
Can never find out where I am
No no no, you can never know
If I'm up or if I'm down
'Cos I'm out here on the street 'n' dancing -
Come and dance here with me!

You can go swimming or running
You can do most anything
But me I mostly only, really,
do one single thing
That you can do most any place
And I think that's really ace!
Come and dance here with me!
Can you stop me now…

Sometimes, you know, I have to go
back home again
And when mum tells me to do my homework
I just don't wanna go inside
'Cos it's so boring - that's something
All children know.
So what I tell you is this:
Come and dance here with me!

It's like in stories where you can do whatever you want
You should try it, you'd like it, it's just like singing a song.

Can you stop me now…
Malta - Sarah Harrison (02/09/90) - Like A Star

Born on September 2, 1990, Sarah showed her showbiz potential at the early age of four years, when she took to the stage in 1994 in a production of Snow White. Sarah was among 500 hopefuls who auditioned for the 14 vacancies at the famous Sylvia Young Theatre School in London… and her bubbly character and versatility won her a place. It was after lessons and at weekends that Sarah sat at her piano to compose her winning song 'Like A Star'.

Since the 6th of September, there’s a new star shining on the pop-heaven over Malta. Sarah Harrison not only managed to completely convince the jury, but also the audience of her performance in the finals of the national Eurovision Song Contest.
With her song “Like a Star”, that she herself had written the words and music for, she left her 48 competitors far behind.
But then, who’d be surprised? Because Sarah is an old hand in showbiz. At the age of 4, she started her rocketlike career on stage in the show “Snow White”.
Until today, she has been climbing up into higher and higher spheres: She participated in 13 productions
won the Performance Award for Classical Ballet
won one of the rare and therefore all the more desired places at the famous Sylvia Young Theatre School in London
...
Apart from an extra large portion of talent and luck, what is needed to make it from just a smallish pop star to real fame is a lot of clenching your teeth, and an iron will. When her friends went on holiday, Sarah set aside her hobbies of Karaoke and swimming. She glued herself to her piano and played until her fingers hurt – practice, practice, and more practice dominated her daily routine.

For Sarah, itґs been worth it:
“It is everyone’s dream to represent their country on the international stage, and I feel very lucky to have been honoured like this,“she says, beaming...

Like a star
Together we'll shine
Together we'll fly
And further we'll glide.

Like a star Together we'll pass through
Together we'll sail through
Those difficult days.

Like a star
That shoots from up high
And lights up the sky
Just cannot deny

Like a star
We'll jump from a cloud
And sing out aloud
Together we'll shine

Up in the sky there's a star that comes out at night.
Deep in my mind there's a thought that gives it some light.
We can all together make it shine so bright, made up my mind
So come together we'll make it and leave the past behind.

It's fun when I play hide and seek with the moon up above
Singing with angels in heaven, sweet songs of love
Don't worry when clouds give me shelter and you don't see me shine so bright
Cos I'll never leave you alone I'll be your guiding light

If you can't make it on your own
Give me your hand and we'll be strong
We can't go wrong

Like a star
Together we'll shine

junioreurovision.tv: What did you like best in Copenhagen? What is your feedback to the J-ESC event?
Sarah: I practically liked and enjoyed every minute in Copenhagen, but mostly; making new friends, preparations for the show, and of course the show itself!!! The event was an experience of a life time for me and one that I will definitely never forget. The show was smashing!!

junioreurovision.tv: What are your next plans?
My next plans are to continue to write songs and hopefully release them!

junioreurovision.tv: How was your welcoming home (at school, in the media, with your family)?
It was brilliant. My principal and my school mates were so happy and pleased with my performance. I received many letters, cards and lots of e-mails which is very overwhelming. My family were so proud and pleased. The response was unbelievable.

junioreurovision.tv: Give us an idea of how to write a song. How do you do so? What is the first to do? What does one have to take into consideration?
Everyone has their own “special formula” of how to write a song, but here’s how I write one. Some people might start writing the lyrics before the melody, but I start with the melody. First of all, to come up with a melody, I don’t choose a certain day and decide to just spend a whole day on it. What I do is I always keep a tape recorder at hand and occasionally, I sing a tune, and immediately record it. When I have a selection of tunes, I play them on the piano and record them all once again. When I’ve heard the whole selection, I “play” with the tune. What do I mean by that? Well, some I might keep to one side, some I might decide to use for the verses, some for the chorus, and so on. I try to find a way of how I can link them together to eventually form a song!!! Finally, I take the song to a recording studio and discuss my ideas for the arrangement of the song with a producer.

junioreurovision.tv: Where do you get the idea for a song?
Now, when it comes to the lyrics it’s quite a different story. The whole idea of writing a song is to really express your feelings. The theme has to be about your personal emotions, maybe something like past experiences. It can be a message you want to give to the people. It’s amazing how a lyric in a song can change a person’s life.

junioreurovision.tv: How do you develop the choreography for your songs? Is there any professional help?
Choreographing a song is fun, but can actually be quite tricky! When you’re in a group it’s good to gather everyone’s ideas and find a way of how you can link them together. The routine has to be quite easy for people to remember. Professional advice is always helpful.

junioreurovision.tv: Which character traits / knowledge are – in your opinion - important as a musician / star in show biz?
The most important in my opinion are: to love what you do, to be dedicated in what you do, to keep your feet firmly on the ground, never believe you know everything because there’s always room for improvement, and never give up!!

After Eurovision:
During the five years at the Sylvia Young Theatre School Sarah Harrison appeared in three Harry Potter films. With other selected children she had recording sessions at the famous Abbey Road studios for the Disney and Walden Media film version of CS Lewis's The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. She also featured as one of the subjects of the Channel 4 documentary My Crazy Life and could be seen in BBC One documentary "When Will I Be Famous?"

Sarah's skills and passion for musicianship truly flourished in the creation of a 30-minute long musical, writing the music and lyrics to the impressive storyline whilst acting as producer of the show.

2012, Sarah is on a special mission - to be the World's first female Hip-Hop Artist/Producer to crossover all boundaries beyond her humble European heritage. She declares the stage her birthplace and her eye for creative direction as a Dancer is one to admire. "I am not satisfied with being just a vocalist. The word 'Artist' demands substantial personal input of concepts and complete individual control". Youtube: MissSHarrison

Mijn ogen zeggen alles
Vertellen wat ik wil
Mijn ogen zeggen alles

Mijn ogen zeggen alles
Vertellen wat ik wil
Mijn ogen zeggen alles

Elke letter elke bladzij
Dat is mijn geheim, helemaal van mij

Mijn ogen zeggen alles
Vertellen wat ik wil
Mijn ogen zeggen alles

My eyes will tell
Tell what I want to say
My eyes will tell
Be it ever so quietly
You might not catch one word
But still you should know
That my eyes will tell
Tell quite well

It happened once upon a time
Suddenly and unexpectedly
Deprived of my vocabulary
Something beyond my comprehension
Still there is a means to everything
And this also applies to conversation

My eyes will tell
Tell what I want to say
My eyes will tell
Be it ever so quietly
You might not catch one word
But still you should know
That my eyes will tell
Tell quite well

I can feel, hear, smell
Tell you what I wish to convey
I can express my opinion
Be it ever so quietly
I even wrote a book
Every letter, every page
That's my secret
Mine, all mine

My eyes will tell
Tell what I want to say
My eyes will tell
Be it ever so quiet
You might not catch one word
But still you should know
That my eyes will tell
Quite well
Tell quite well
Tell quite well

From A to Z
My words will say
That I still love life
Every second, every day
JUNIOREUROVISION.TV coverage
EBU press conference

Jeroen Depraetere, Sarah Yuen
Summary – Highlights

• A dream came true! On November 15th, the first Junior Eurovision Song Contest (J-ESC) is going to take place at the sold-out Forum arena in Copenhagen with 16 participants competing for first place in the international competition.
• For the first time in the history of Eurovision song contests, the EBU is offering its members a high definition 16:9 broadcast as well as the traditional 4:3 format.

• The song contest will also be available on DVD for the first time. In this, the J-ESC will again be the precursor of the adults’ event (ESC) which has never been released on DVD to date.

• Together with the Danish Broadcaster (DR), the EBU is supporting the children as much as possible.
“The kids are all winners. What counts in the J-ESC is the fun of participating and making new friends. We protect the children as much as we can.”, points out Jeroen Depraetere, EBU Project Manager. The rules for participation in the contest are very strict. The artists must perform and have composed, their own songs and fully own the rights to the compositions.

• To guarantee the high quality of the J-ESC, the host country of the next children’s event has been chosen from the group of participating broadcasters, even before the date of the Danish J-ESC. The event is going to take place in Manchester on November 20th, 2004 and will be produced by ITV.

"Non-participating broadcasters in countries as diverse as Iceland, Finland, Estonia and Australia have also bought the rights for their territories this year.”, Sarah Yuen, EBU Executive Project Manager of Live Events, was happy to say.

Camilla and Remee are the hosts of the J-ESC 2003.

As far as the J-ESC goes, Camilla is an old hand - after all, she’s been hosting the Danish Song Contest for years. Camilla has gained her experience doing presentations when she was working for the music channel Z-TV, for the Danish broadcast – e.g., doing the show “Rutsj” and the summer specials “Tournesol”. These days, you can admire her as the host of “Good morning P3”.

Remee??? But...isn’t that...IT IS! The former rapper, songwriter and record producer has reappeared in front of the cameras...
Like Camilla, Remee won’t have anyone lead him up the garden path in the music department. He signed his first contract with Mega Records at the age of 15.

Ever since then, it’s been “straight up”: Two years later, he was selling heaps of records with his band “Sound of Seduction”, won three Grammies with “Thomas Blachmann meets Al Agami & Remee“, wrote for the girl duo S.O.A.P., for the Safri Duo, for Robyn, Jamelia, Blue, Holly Valance, O-Town, S Club 7 and loads more.
More than 10 million records sold definitely speak for Remee!!!

More about the two of them under www.junioreurovision.tv, starting November 10th!

The Tivoli
The Copenhageners love their amusement park right in the middle of the city. And they go there a lot…just to have lots of fun!

The Tivoli is a quiet place at five minutes to 10 o’clock on a cold but sunny morning in Copenhagen. But not for very much longer! Because now the gates are opened for the participants of the J-ESC!

What an experience – haven’t you ever dreamed of having a fairground all to yourself just once in your life? Or, even better, with all your friends there to enjoy it with you!

And this is why the J-ESC stars are having such a fantastic morning at the Tivoli. The roller coaster is running just for them, and doesn’t stop until everyone has screamed their heart out in its dark tunnels and sharp turns.

After that, it’s off to the chairoplane – again, it goes round and round just for our stars until everyone’s had enough – or gives up for fear of being sick from the combination of the carrousel and the countless sweets “Father Christmas” is dishing out left, right and centre.

Another thing not to be missed is, of course, the beautifully painted, old-fashioned merry-go-round. And this is a dream of a romantic merry-go-round…

After this enchanted morning, the J-ESC participants are taking up rehearsals again with the usual verve – there really seems to be nothing that could stop these kids!

Who will win the battle?
It was a competition of a different kind this morning at DGI City in Copenhagen.

Buses were waiting to take the J-ESC stars to the most spectacular swimming pool Copenhagen has to offer – DGI City, attached to the famous hotel bearing the same name, not only features a beautiful squared pool, saunas and gymrooms. It also has an oval pool surrounding the “normal” one - how much more fun is this then to just go back and forth!

Apart from this, you can also find a gorgeous rock pool with 5 diving boards of different heights and even a trampoline (!) to dive off of all around it! And if that’s not enough of an attraction yet, one way to get onto the 5 metre diving board is up a climbing wall, and a pretty challenging one at that! Our stars made a brave stand, though, as you can check out for yourself in the Photo Gallery in the Media Lounge.

The J-ESC participants weren’t just there to splash around in the water, though – they had the “serious” task of winning yet another trophy to take home to their countries.

6 challenges were awaiting the teams: they had to dive off the rocks, scale the climbing wall, hold their own at a hindrance race, ride a huge rubber dinosaur, go for speed in a kayak race, and finally dive for the letters of a key word which were printed on water balls and had to be put together as fast as possible.
As a special guest, the group was joined by Razz, the winner of the Nordic J-ESC, who didn’t look tired in the least after rocking the house last night at Frederiksberg City Hall.

All the participants had great fun, and are now looking forward to the next batch of rehearsals this afternoon.

3 countries - one party
Denmark, Norway and Sweden threw the “Scandinavian Party“
7.00 p.m., Wednesday, November 12th , LevelCPH, Skindergade, downtown Copenhagen…

This was the place to be!
Those who hadn’t let themselves be scared off by the door men and the queue for the coat check but bravely fought their way down to the catacombs of the club to the bar and stage soon found out what it means when kids party!

None of the J-ESC stars stayed in their seats – the place to be was the stage – and, of course, centre stage! Norway and Latvia outgunned each other doing hip hop shows, Greece made the dance floor shake – just like FYR Macedonia, Cyprus and all the others.

But dancing makes you hungry – and not just a bit!!!!!!! But no worries – that had been taken care of as well. Two hot dog stands in the court yard were just barely able to cope with the rush. Because here, the parents and companions of the kids made themselves be noticed, too – before, they’d just been watching the stage from a safe distance. But now - hot dogs for everyone!

After a little refreshment, the hosts gave a sample of what they’re worth. Anne made an Arabian Dream come true, the Honeypies brought an entire circus in with them and Norway – well, Norway amazed the crowds with their street dance, and was then surprised in turn. Because – Norway’s now gold-plated!
>> More about this under “Participants”!!!

And whoever thought they could tire out J-ESC kids was sadly mistaken. Because the next thing on the programme was the J-ESC Intro Song. And everyone had to dance along: “…arms to the right – left – front – back – up – down – and again! – now the wave – and go! ...are you still with us?” - “Yeeeeeaaaaaaahhhh …! … …”

This is where the junioreurovision.tv team gave up. Good night!

Interview with hosts

junioreurovision.tv: Camilla and Remee, first question – have you met all of the participants yet, and what’s your impression?
Camilla: Yes, almost all of them. We welcomed them yesterday when they arrived, and have been working with them since then. And it’s fantastic! Especially the fact that almost all of them speak English.
Remee: Exactly – Bubu’s dancers even speak four languages. Just imagine! At their age – I’m really impressed.

junioreurovision.tv: Camilla, how musical are you? What song do you know by heart?
Camilla: Umm, oh…ok – actually, I’m not really very musical. And a song ??? By heart…???
(Remee jumps in to help: "You know Anne’s song.")
Oh… yes, Anne’s song, and all of the other songs of the precontest I hosted, of course.

junioreurovision.tv: Remee, as a musician – what makes a song a hit?
Remee: Easy – three things:„Good bridge, good verse, good chorus“. That’s simple, isn’t it?

junioreurovision.tv: Camilla, will you tell us what you’re going to wear on Saturday?
Camilla: Oh, alright, I’ll be nice and tell you. I’m going to wear dresses – a green one with pink in it to begin with…the next one: let me surprise you!

junioreurovision.tv: Camilla and Remee, how did this come about, the two of you hosting the J-ESC?
Remee: Well, as you know, Camilla already hosted the Nordic J-ESC and the Danish precontest. Who’d be surprised, then, to see her here. For me it’s the first job as a host -
Camilla: Right, but Remee and I have known each other for 10 years now – and we know we work together well. About Remee as a host?! He’s doing a great job – believe me, it’s not that easy for someone who’s really a musician. Remee’s great. (remark junioreurovision.tv: Camilla’s beginning to gush a bit…) We’re a perfect team and complement each other really well. When one’s got a weak moment, the other one’s right there.

junioreurovision.tv: Remee, you have worked with umph-teen artists? Who did you get along with best?
Remee: Oh, that’s really hard to say. I like all kinds of different people and styles; they were all so talented. So my work’s always been fun. Of course, things get somewhat more complex - and more stressful, too – when an artist becomes more well-known, and there are groupies screaming in front of the doors.
If I had to decide on one, it would be Shaznat Lewis, from All Saints. She’s really amazing!

junioreurovision.tv: Camilla, if you had to write a song, what would it be about?
Camilla: I’m much too untalented for that. I would never do that. No, really. I’ll leave that to these kids here!

junioreurovision.tv: Remee, a personal question at the end – you’ve had to correct the number of your brothers in your questionnaire….how shall we take that? Lost count?
Remee (laughs): I knew you were going to ask that. But when I was filling in that questionnaire, one of my brothers sort of slipped my mind. But then, I’ve only met him 2 months ago – and he’s my oldest brother! But there’s such a hotchpotch of “real” and adopted relatives, plus in-laws, that losing count is something that can happen. Sorry !

junioreurovision.tv: Camilla and Remee – thanks for this interview, and all the best for Saturday!

Interview with Amalie Bo
stage designer

junioreurovision.tv: Amalie, thank you for taking a moment to tell us about this fabulous stage! So what’s the idea behind it?
Amalie: What I wanted to do was to create something like a fantasy world, maybe vaguely like a Scandinavian landscape…most of all, I wanted it to be light and friendly.

junioreurovision.tv: And did the stage turn out the way you wanted it?
Amalie: It did, actually – it’s perfect!

junioreurovision.tv: Is this your first big project?
Amalie: It’s my biggest one, and the first one for a live event. But I’ve been working for TV productions for 5 years now.

junioreurovision.tv: If you had the chance to design the stage for another big event, which one would you choose?
Amalie: Definitely a music event! Maybe the MTV Music Awards…

junioreurovision.tv: Tell us, Amalie, what is special about designing the stage for a kids’ event?
Amalie: What I’m really enjoying the most important thing here is the lightness, the fun, the humour… It’s a playground for the imagination!

junioreurovision.tv: Thanks, Amalie, and congratulations, you’ve done a wonderful job designing this stage - you’re a winner already!

Greece rehearsal
The air is buzzing as participants from 16 European countries are rehearsing for the big act on Saturday.
The stage at the Forum in the centre of Copenhagen has been turned into a fantasy island, with big waves dancing around it, and the “sky” lit up with dozens of giant balloons, floating above the event like colourful bubbles.
A fireworks of a lightshow is forming the background, changing colours with every new band that comes onto the stage. The mood in the event hall is as bright as the colours – no traces of tension or nervousness.

Under the friendly, but energetic guidance of trainer and choreographer Jacob, singers and dancers are once again proving their talent in the limelight. All the performers are concentrated, but relaxed; they’re giving their best, but never forgetting to smile.

Some of the groups are dressed in matching t-shirts, like the Latvian band around Dzintars, practicing their breathtaking break dancing routine; others, like the Belarusian band supporting Volha, are practicing their smooth moves in comfortable exercising clothes.

The real stage outfits will have to wait until the dress rehearsals on Friday.
Some teams are already trying theirs on backstage, like the team from Cyprus, smiling for the photograph like a group of pink pixies. To see this – and much more! - for yourself, click on the Photo Gallery in the Media Lounge!

Fyr Macedonia: Six girls managed to thoroughly wake up the Forum this morning. At 9 o’clock, Marija, Viktorija and their backing singers and dancers pulled off a show that was far from sleepy! These girls’ amazing voices really could make the birds’ morning songs sound pale in comparison…
Poland: Explosive as ever - the band around Kasia from Konin, Poland also showed up fresh as Daisies despite partying like mad last night in front of the stage at Frederiksberg City Hall.
And if Kasia’s singing and smooth dance moves hadn’t already convinced everyone watching, her bright smile would definitely have done the trick!

Norway: You could tell these two were a tried and tested team. Their catchy duet had everyone who was listening tapping their feet and smiling along. If 2U’s performance on Saturday goes just as smoothly as this rehearsal did – well, watch out, competition!

Spain: The place fell quiet as Sergio from Spain took over the stage with his heartrending ballad. Especially after a morning of rocking the stage, this beautiful slow but powerful song touched everyone’s hearts and souls deeply…

Romania: Back to the fast lane – here comes Bubu! This unusual talent rules the stage from behind his drum set, producing a beat that goes straight into your blood while his three energetic backing dancers take care of the show part of the show.
But even an old hand like Bubu can still profit from the friendly guidance of someone like choreographer Jacob, who is going about the whole thing calmly and effectively, even despite the obvious language barriers – which goes to show that the language of music is international!

Belgium:…and Belgium unleashed X!NK…and once more, the stage turns into an energy field like few you’ve seen before! Their rough guitar sound feels like a fresh wind blowing through the event hall – once you’ve seen these boys on stage, it’ll be hard to forget them again! Rock on, Belgium!!!

United Kingdom: And here goes another ballad – Tom’s “Song for the World” is as sweet as this boy himself. Alone on the stage, which is now lit in soft shades, he seems completely absorbed in his music. Keep singing for the world, Tom, it will definitely be happy to hear from you more often...

Denmark: Once again, Anne and her crew bring all the magic of Aladdin with them onto the stage. Their Arabian belly dancer moves look as if these girls had grown up practising them, the dancers are perfectly synchronised; the rehearsal goes smoothly, and even Jacob doesn’t have much to suggest as far as improvement goes. And the magic goes on...

Sweden: “Stoppa mig” is their title, and Rebecca and Julia really do seem unstoppable! The two friends from Sweden and their support group show up for this rehearsal in a brilliant mood, take over the stage, and turn it into a whirl of quick, precise moves, bright smiles and beautifully clear singing. Seeing them, who would even think of trying to stop them??

Malta: And another strong clear voice fills the spacious event hall here at the Forum. Backed up by the dynamic street dancing performance of her group, Sarah sings her song of friendship to everyone’s satisfaction. Even the camera crew seem more than happy to film such a professional young star, and under the fantasy skies of the Forum’s stage, it’s easy to believe Sarah has found her vocation...

The Netherlands: Last but definitely not least for today – Roel’s song comes as the grand finale of today’s rehearsal. Once again, he convinces his listeners with that touching song about his paralysed friend, titled “My Eyes Will Tell”. So remember to keep an eye out for this newcoming artist – this will definitely not be the last we see of him!

Third day rehearsing – only two to go till Saturday…
Greece: Good morning, songbird! Nicolas, the first one on stage today, walks up there relaxed and smiling. Supported by his four dancers, looking great in chequered skirts and green tops, he goes through the rehearsal like an old hand at show biz as the stage lights up in blue with twirling stars in the background. A great show!

Croatia: And another powerful performance from Dino, self-confident in a flash red leather jacket, handling the microphone as if he’d been born with it. He manages the transition from the slow piano part to the faster dance rhythm perfectly, and the applause he gets for it at the end of his song is unusually loud for “just” a rehearsal…

Cyprus: After two dancy tunes this morning, here comes the sweet, almost ethereal performance of the Cyprian girls. Theodora’s voice floats through the Forum like a golden mist, enchanting the audience at the rehearsal along with the place…pixies for Europe!

Belarus: A whirlwind of colourful street wear, the Belarusian group spread party mood whenever they get onto the stage. Once again, Volha and her band mean what they’re singing: “dance!”, they go – and it’s difficult to keep your feet still while listening to Volha’s voice, so clear and self-confident. Can’t wait to watch the crowds at the show on Saturday following her invitation!

Latvia: Another highly dynamic team conquers the stage! With their brightly coloured jump suits and sneakers, Dzintars & Co. are perfectly equipped for the demanding dance routine they’re performing. Red braids are flying to the beat as Dzintars strong voice sings about summer time in the middle of cold Copenhagen – but listening to him, it’s easy to see yourself running along sunny beaches. Dzintars, more of this, please!

Fyr Macedonia: Though Marija and Viktorija had a bit of a rough start today, a moment of warming up got them right back into synch. Partly thanks to Jacob, the tireless stage coach, the girls soon mastered their difficulties – and never lost their smiles in the process!

Poland: A very relaxed Kasia lead her group up onto the stage after the lunch break today. The girls looked absolutely smashing in their bright red outfits, especially as they were dancing in front of a background all lit up in greens and yellows. But that, of course, wasn’t all there was to see! Their performance went so well that there really wasn’t much to be improved on, and director Arne was completely content with what he saw. Way to go, Poland!

Norway: So this is what the winners of a gold CD look like! Charlot and Joakim were still beaming when they walked onto the Forum stage this afternoon after receiving their award at the Scandinavian Party last night. Their triumph doesn’t seem to have gone to their heads, though – they practised their song with the usual concentration, and the two groups of “guys” and “girls” wove the two parts of “Sinnsykt gal forelsket” together beautifully. Good luck for the show, Norway!

Spain: Serenely, Sergio reaches for the microphone, and there they are again…the goose bumps covering everyone’s arms at the sound of this beautiful song. Sergio’s gestures are completely natural, as well as his smile and the sincere way he looks into the camera. And when, at the end of his rehearsal, he blows a kiss to the audience, the impression of an experienced performer is made perfect!

Romania: Time warp! The three girls supporting Bubu appear in the cutest fifties’ outfits, complete with petticoats, headscarves Audrey-Hephurn-style and large wide-rimmed shades.
But nothing can distract the attention from Bubu’s precise drumming and the stirring singing to go with it – this promising young drummer is definitely not someone to beat around the bush!

Belgium: The stage is shaking – must be X!NK rocking the house again! The four boys are pulling off their straight forward rock song without batting an eyelid… real ear candy for all those who like it a bit rougher! Needless to say that their music and voices come across loud and clear – after all, X!NK have been stars for a while now!

United Kingdom: And here he is again, the calm, self-confident boy from Whitehaven, who always seems to take over the stage effortlessly with his “Song for the World”. Unpretentious, natural, and blessed with an excellent singing voice, he floats through a flawless rehearsal. Nothing left to say but “well done, Tom”, really – and good luck as Saturday is drawing closer!

Denmark: After the last break for today, the stage turned into the scene of a fairy tale – real fire, burning in large silver bowls, was framing Anne and her dancers as they went on to perfect their Arabian dance. The flaming background – the impression supported by the red and yellow spotlights – was a wonderful setting for this magic song, taking the audience away to the 1001 Arabian nights of Sheherazade…

Sweden: Keeping up the magic feeling – after Denmark’s Arabian dreams, here come Sweden’s
unstoppable circus princesses! Against the backdrop of their group juggling, doing the wildest hand stands, walking imaginary tight ropes and taking the audience’s breath away with their devil sticks tricks, Rebecca and Julia perform their song dressed in shining silver. What a great way to take over this fantasy island of a stage!

Malta: All bright smiles, energetic Sarah does her show dressed in cool street wear, surrounded by her equally dynamic dancers, ponytails bouncing. The strobe light provides the right party feeling as Malta’s stars shine down from a colourful stage onto the Forum, ready to go for it at the J-ESC on Saturday!

Netherlands: And here he is, closing the show for today: Roel, the charismatic boy from the Netherlands with his sensitive-but-never-soppy song about someone whose eyes have to do all the talking.(If you haven’t done so yet, read all about this song on Roel’s junioreurovision.tv web site under “Participants”!)
His band of tried and tested musicians doesn’t come anywhere close to hitting a wrong note – these boys are a sworn team. Keep it up, Netherlands!
