1st rehearsal of Lerika in Amsterdam

Andy on Wed, 11/28/2012 - 11:02

Lerika gives quite comfortable performance for the big favourite of the contest. She isn´t really looking to reach the high notes, but otherwise, everything is very good. The dance has changed compared to the national final, you probably have seen updated version of it already during the opening party. Lerika moves to the front of the stage, and then back to the middle during the song, hopefully it will look good on cameras as well. Seemingly, Lerika is the only performer today to perform in her stage outfits.

Fabian from Belgium 1st rehearsal

Andy on Wed, 11/28/2012 - 10:24

The performance of Fabian has changed a lot compared to the national preselection. Now, he has extra dancers, who give a magic act, which leads to appearance of a small cute female guitarist. Fabian interacts pretty well with all his stage partners. At the end they even use a catwalk. It may seem that this is a bit overdone, but I think it will look very good on screens. I´m afraid though the performance is better than the, still unfortunately dull, song itself.

Omar and Suada 1st rehearsal

Andy on Wed, 11/28/2012 - 09:42

The stage act here is very nice. They have a girl as a DJ (as we informed - original idea was to have a young boy, Rufat, on this position, but he was rejected as he isn't 10 yet, so he is here just as a guest). The vocal performance is much better than at the opening party, seemingly due to the double track. The backing vocals still are partly live, which is a very surprising come JESC. The show is very nice, and if they fix vocal part, they should do really well.

Interview with Compass Band from Armenia

Andy on Tue, 11/27/2012 - 17:26

As you see, the stage of JESC is almost ready, so tomorrow we will be able to enjoy first rehearsals there. See more at

Another guests of our interview sessions are Compass Band from Armenia.
Be sure that English subtitles are turned on.

We have also talked to head of delegation of Armenia - Gohar Gasparyan. She has ensured that Armenian broadcaster is fully supporting JESC and will continue always taking part in it. The only change she would like to bring is to do 100% televoting.

Some information about the course of the week

Andy on Mon, 11/26/2012 - 22:05

delegations will have shooting of postcards, as well as recording of KidsRights song "We can be heroes" with lead singers of all countries. At 20.00 it is closed for press rehearsal of the same song in some dance studio.
We will be trying to bring some full interviews tomorrow, but considering it is probably the busiest day for delegations, we will probably delay some of them till next days.

On Wednesday all delegations will have Boat Trip with dinner (again closed for press, first time ever delegation tours are closed for press).
This will be the full day of rehearsals as you can check in schedules on our side.

On Thursday, it's quick run through of all rehearsals as well as dance rehearsal of a group song and opening show. These rehearsals may be closed for press as well.

After party on Saturday is also closed for press as well. I think it is the first time ever in JESC. Actually, there even is no press transportation from official hotel to Arena.
Update: There will be buses for press!

Denis from Moldova completes the line-up!

Andy on Mon, 11/26/2012 - 21:15

Femke from The Netherlands has already arrived a bit shortly before on a bus from her home town, we will talk with her shortly.

Delegation from Moldova is the last one to arrive. Part of them with lead singer, his father and producer came right now, while the rest of the team are having long bus trip to Amsterdam and will arrive at about 1am this night. Denis is very happy to come to Amsterdam, he wants to see the city and make new friends. He wants to win, but thinks one need to work very hard to achieve this. After the interview Denis mentioned he is looking forward meeting Ralf... and moments later Ralf with his mother entered the hotel and greeted Denis!
