Israel Izabo 1st rehearsal

Now, that is one amazing background - with clocks of different sizes, sometimes looking that they are put on the stage, great effects.

Vocally it is fine, two backing vocals to support chorus.

Overall impression from it is very positive, bring me memories of old Israeli entries in the time Israel was among leaders of Eurovision.

Musically though it is still the average radio track, so it may struggle to qualify.

Day one round up from me....

Well first of everything was a complete mess for almost the whole day.....

1. The Cycling race.....EPIC FAIL!!!! Why oh why did they close every road in the city on day one when all the press were trying to get to the arena!!! How fucking stupid, the longest taxi journey I heard took 2.5 hours, ours was 1.5 hours.....GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. No live feed into the press centre for the first 4 performances!!!!!!!!!! GAH!!!!!!!!!!!

3. Arena journalists had to be escorted into the Arena by the EBU head first thing because security would not let them in!!!!!!!!

4. No catering for press people at all.....ok we had free tea and fruit but no coffee, no hot food, not even possibility to purchase anything

5. Interviews were all messed up because the manager of the volunteers decided that they should make their own lists!! Without consulting delegations....really!!!!! This was at least sorted very quickly and should not now be a problem

6. They are still building everywhere......see http://www.esckaz.com/new/en/blog/my-roundup-day-after-having-beer-or-t…

Ok so the actual songs.....most impressed with Iceland and Romania to be honest. Greece was fine, bit ropey btu will go through, Montenegro was a mess but I will talk to him later today and find out the inside story on that, and now need to get ready for Day 2

BUT having said that above the city is amazing, the people are fantastic and the poor volunteers (who I LOVE) are having a very bad time.....awwwww;-))))

Lovely Iris

got just around three questions at her press-conference, smiled a lot and made really good impression. Basically she is living her dream wow now and we wish her the best of luck in it.
