Roko is opening the 7th day of rehearsals. I've just noticed that the staging tells a story of rising from the depth of earth (Hell?) to Heaven. The camera shakes to resemble an earthquake as Roko arises and accent from the fiery hell to the sky, where he meets the two angels/dancers who give him wing. This has a very strong Christian motive, and I'm sure televoters will have it in their top 10 in the semi-final.

Roko is giving his first rehearsal on the stage of Expo Tel Aviv. Vocally he sounds amazing, very accurate and powerful. The performance is over the top; He's wearing a white outfit and starts the song laying on the stage as the LED floor gives him red fiery wings. He slowly gets up and then two shirtless male dancers with golden wings show up, only to rise and fly at the end (to heaven?). One of the wings almost hits Roko in the face. The video art shows heavenly skies. It is then that Roko receives golden wings himself, that I guess helped him hitting that high note at the end.
Jacques Houdek is a very secure vocalist and the schizophrenic elements of his song are caught from different camera angle shots. I feel like they could have done a bit more to make this entry fun, but they probably don't want to be considered a novelty entry, so one should respect that.
The imagery of sunflowers and rainbow gives the performance a cheesy touch, but also provides uplifiting sense of feel-good.
As the Eurovision season finished up, Croatia emerged as one of the front runners of this year's Eurovision. Unfortunately the first rehearsal of Nina may have dashed plenty of those aspiring hopes some of us had.
Nina's vocals are very shaky at the moment, so that's something she will have to work on in the coming days. I don't think that's much of her concern though, the third run through already sounded much much much better.
What concerns me more however is the huge grey dress she is wearing at the beginning of her song.
Just as with Trijntje Oosterhuis last year, the dress overpowers literally everything good about Lighthouse and that's an absolute shame. The backdrop, remains pretty simple, with blue as the main colours. Nina is also joined by four other backing vocalists on stage, though there's little to no interaction with them.
If Croatia is to win any prizes at all at this stage, it will be the Barbara Dex award of the season.
There are couple of very impressive camera shots there - when the band is shown in shadows and you can not see their faces. They have great suits - from local knighthood of Alka. Otherwise, the big problem of the band is lack of charisma, both individual or as band. Even in the same outfits, they are a not looking as the band. The choreography movements are simple and effective, and singing is great.
