We only got to see one FYROM runthrough due to technical difficulties, but I must say I expected more. It is fun, but fighting an uphill battle against other fun songs in this semi, that are easier to get for first-time listeners.
The Croatian entry Crazy is a moody song which has some nice elements to it but is not without fault. It starts very well and for a minute or so it sounds interesting and promising, but falls flat towards the end as it gets slightly repetitive. Franka looks good and she sells this mediocre song very very well. Stage show is simple but works.
Austria is sending the vocally very capable César Sampson with “Nobody but you” to Lisbon. For him to make a lasting impression he will need to work the stage better. It begins strong on the plinth, but once he steps down it looks a bit clumsy. Still a work in progress.
