Final Day is here......whooooooohoooooooo

Has it really been 15 days since we arrived in Dusseldorf???? Where did the time go? Of course we have had the best time EVEHHHHHH at this thing called Eurovision and now we just want the final to come and it all be over with another winner to add to the hall of fame.....

At this stage I'm still sticking to France and Daniel is still sticking to UK to win. We have both been widely off the mark before, and also been correct before so who knows.

One thing for sure is that in the early hours of tomorrow morning we will know the winner.....

Of to meet some friends in Eurocafe today and will be blogging later tonight after the final but not too much.....there's serious drinking to be done after the show!!!!!

So leaving you with two of our favourite video moments from this week, the big five all singing together and Jedward interviews.....very funny moments for us;-)))))

Toodles....and big hus to you all

M+D

and don't forget to check out the www.esckaz.com videoalbum and photoalbums if you want more fun and games from us two from the last two weeks.....

A little sightseeing & sailing down the Rhine with 'Dame' Nikki French!

Yesterday we decided to give the dress rehearsals a miss as we knew our colleagues at www.esckaz.com would be blogging them and we also wanted to see the final tonight 'untarnished', as it were! Plus, we had a very important sailing date with a certain previous UK entrant and had to be at the boat by a certain time.

During the afternoon we wondered about the old town, ending up in MarktPlatz and by the River Rhine where we had lunch in one of the many riverside restaurants lining the promenade....

After some pleasant sight seeing and a leisurely late lunch, we returned to the hotel to get ready for our Eurovision boat party starring Nikki French (UK 2000), Igor Cukrov (Croatia 2009) and Gruppe WIND (Germany 1985, 1987 and 1992).

On arrival at the quayside there was a long queue but it wasn't too long before it started moving.

Jury Final Live blog Part 5, Iceland, Spain, Ukraine, Serbia and Georgia......

Iceland

Do I have to comment on this pile of horse poo that grates my ears like hot knives through butter…Sorry Andy I know you like it but really…….I wish this would just go away!!!!!!! Seriously this will probably get into the top 10 somehow and I'll just ignore for the rest of my life.....

Spain

Dilly-dolly Spanish music right at the end of the draw. I smell a Spanish omelette of a surprise on final night….lucky number 22 for Lucia?? This is really really really helped by the draw. Just when everybody needs something up beat and happy along this comes....first top 10 for Spain since Istanbul. Vocally she's very good, with walloper dancers to boot;-)))

Ukraine

Naff, naff, naff. The song is nice, the sand act, while amazing does not add to this. Our surprise qualifier from last night and it got a great draw…..but…really....enough said. She is fine vocally, but that horror of a frock, and the flash gordon outfit from the sand person is dreadful.....

Serbia

I love this song. I love this staging. But will Europe? It’s a bit epileptic fit inducing but works very well….fantabulously fantastically colourful. Mid table placing for this??

Georgia

Ok so hand on heart this is my dark horse. Perfect draw for this. Perfect staging for this. And a perfect delegation too;-))) Is Georgia the new Turkey??? I smell a new ManGa here......

FIN!!

Jury Final Live blog Part 4, Germany, Romania, Austria, Azerbaijan and Slovenia.....

Germany

Never being huge Lena fans we were surprised when this got chosen cos we love it. But it is very monotonous on screen and even though they are the host nation, and should do fairly well I can see this bombing big time now. The only good thing about it is the lighting....and that gets boring after about a minute. AND this needed a perfect vocal, which lets face it Lena is never gonna give!

Romania

Blows Germany off the stage. He’s cute, the song is upbeat and fresh(ish) I don’t really see a 2010 result but you can never discount Romania when it comes to Eurovison, they have friends, they have great songs and they always seem to pull it out of the bag on the night….this really wouldn't be out of place as an album track for Take That. Rather fab in fact. Should beat Germany. he does get a bit shouty towards the end...

Austria

Pure class. I feel an Iceland 2009 moment coming on. I heard that the delegations aim was to simply make the final…..they did this without even trying. Nadine has a superb voice, and the staging on this is just perfect…..sailing into the top 10 and almost certain to make the top 5….First goosebump moment for me, but then I am jaded by two weeks of this contest by now.....

Azerbaijan

Blown of the stage by Austria now. Very professionally staged as Azerbaijan always do but ain't gonna do it;-((( And Nikki's vocal is pretty dreadful. The pyro waterfall looks amazing though.....

Slovenia

Puts the final nail in the coffin for Azerbaijan. Opps. Seriously I originally thought that Azerbaijan had a great draw but now squeezed between Austria and Slovenia they really don’t. Maja has one hell of a voice, looks stunning on stage and nails this. Love it. Mid table placing but it deserves much more. The only drawback is that I am just noticing the back drop now....it's a bit naff isn't it?

Jury Final Live blog Part 3, France, Italy, Switzerland, UK, Moldova.....

France

Perfection on the screen. Who knew that France would one day take the contest very seriously again. And in the year that the UK did too!!!! Could the final night turn into that ancient battle of Gallic versus British? Take a bow Mister you do France proud! Just one thing I don't think the pyros add to this at all!!!!!!

Italy

Lost after France. Which is a shame. Nice song, nice staging and proper music;-)) Very effective camera work though. Still very much a contender for last place

Switzerland

Hummmm. Never expected this to qualify and now that it has and it’s right in the middle of a gaggle of favs this could pick up lots of votes. Winner? No way. Top 15 for sure and maybe even the top 10. And Anna is soooooo cute on stage….love her and her bubbles on stage;-))) But does it all look a bit lost on the big stage?? I don't think so.

UK

They’re not really trying are they? Is this because they are holding out for the final? Someone needs to shout in their ears that the juries are voting tonight. Lee Ryan looks terrified. This one divides opinion round our table in the press centre...its a love or hate moment here. We love everybody else hates!!!!!!

Moldova

A safe bet for qualifying but now it comes right after the UK it seems fairly doomed. But if we speak with our hearts this is how to do a Eurovision stage show. Funny but not in a circus act way, nice vocals and a great little song. Vocals are a bit off, but I think this is Roman just not being used to playback....
