Belarusian Angels are here in Yerevan

Andy on Mon, 11/28/2011 - 00:40
From Belarus arrival

Lidiya says that her flight was perfect, and it was first plane flight in her life - so she is full of emotions, was a bit feared in the beginning, but really liked it in the end. She wants to meet a lot of new friends, get a load of good emotions, perform well and bring everyone good mood.

Coming up next - three delegations on the same plane from Vienna!

Chat with Amanda Bashmakova from Latvia

Andy on Sun, 11/27/2011 - 18:58

And the last one of today's interviews is with lovely Amanda. She was on trip today and she is very impressed of it, she brought the map with her to show where she had been. She has been trying her best to chat in English, so thumbs up and I hope our English readers will appreciate it.

This is it for today and we will be back at night with arrivals of not less than 5 countries.
BTW, welcome party is at Mezzo Jazz club, where kids will perform (I guess playback) and each delegation was given 10 invitation only and there is nothing for press. So I can only say that we hope to report on it. Then the children Euroclub will be in Ani Plaza itself and seemingly we do return to the concept JESC week for kids not adults.
In other developments, we believe there is no joint song of international participants this year, at least nothing was given to the delegations yet and they are as puzzled as we are.
Vladimir Arzumanyan is here and spent almost an hour chatting to us, he also stays at Ani Plaza, a he is from different town (and no sign of Dalita here). He will perform Mama in remix version and we also believe Sirusho will sing mix of her new song and Qele Qele. The main guest... as you've heard from Sietse Bakker earlier is someone from Eurovision and still negotiated with.
We still have no accreditation badges or handbook for press.
I have already seen several promo CDs and we will report on them later. I believe Moldova is the one without promotional CD (which will be only 2nd case in 5 years after Ukraine in 2009).

Chat with Lerika from Moldova

Andy on Sun, 11/27/2011 - 16:58

Lerica introduces her song No, No which she wrote together with composer Natan (Eugen Doibani) and lyricist Nikoleta Dara. She explains that this is song about her, she is like Alice behind the Looking Glass, so she uses the same concept on stage in her performance - she will be dancing, singing and having fun. From Eurovision she expects a lot of new impressions, new songs, new friends and she is definitely looking for victory. Today Lerika was at main street of Yerevan and in restaurant. She says she is totally ready for the rehearsals and she hopes everyone will like her performance. Staging will be the same. At the end Lerika asks to vote for her, speaks a welcome phrase for English language viewers and sings short part of her song.

Ukraine and Macedonia in Yerevan

Andy on Sun, 11/27/2011 - 14:07

While basically nothing is happening, we had decided to spent our time in Yerevan with two of the delegations - Ukraine and Macedonia. Both enjoyed walking round the city which ended in dinner, for Ukraine it was sushi bar and for Macedonia an entertainment center. At the end both delegations met and chatted shortly in the hotel. You can see a photo reports in 3 separate albums in our photogallery.

Three musketeers from Moldova have arrived

Andy on Sun, 11/27/2011 - 02:00

and we were on the verge of missing them as our schedule was pointing out that Moldova will come only at 3 pm in the day time! Luckily, we've still been in the Ani Plaza lobby and managed to say hello to young Lerika and her team!

From Moldova arrival

Lerika says that her flight was very comfortable (they travelled through Moscow), and she was very much looking forward coming to Yerevan and finally she is here, hooray! She expects to get friends with everyone, that she will learn how to work on big stage, as she knows a lot, but there is no end in learning, and of course she expects to win!

5 delegations are already here! Well, if we do believe the schedule, there will be NO new arrivals at the daytime and we will meet 5 countries next night! Stay tuned for ESCKAZ updates!
