| «If We All Give
A Little», six4one’s Swiss entry for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, has been chosen
as the official song of the global «We Are What We Do» movement. Taking inspiration from the Gandhi quote, «we must be the change we want to see in the world», «We Are What We Do» is a global movement which aims to inspire people to use their simple, everyday actions to change the world. It was launched in the UK in September 2004 with the publication of the book, 'Change the World for a Fiver – 50 simple actions to change the world and make you feel good'. The book, which was produced as a result of more than 70 leading British artists, writers, photographers, illustrators and designers donating their time and talents, quickly hit all the best-seller lists selling 100,000 copies in just 100 days. It has now sold more than 400,000 copies worldwide and has been translated and adapted for sale in countries as diverse as Spain, Canada, Australia, Greece, Israel and the Netherlands plus many more. A German language edition of the book titled «Einfach die Welt verandern – 50 kleine Ideen mit grosser Wirkung» was published in Germany, Switzerland and Austria in February 2006. In just 8 days it sold more than 30,000 copies and looks set to be a bestseller. «We Are What We Do» is brought to life around the world by partnerships with an astonishing network of like-minded organisations. Projects include an education programme, community activity, a merchandise range plus a very active website www.wearewhatwedo.org. «We Are What We Do» has also received support from political leaders – in the UK, it was officially launched by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown and in Australia, it was launched by the Prime Minister, John Howard. entry "If We All Give A Little" was presented online tonight by newspaper
Sonntags Blick and you can hear it on this page. For the first
time Swiss entry will be presented on Television on 18th of March in the show
"Benissimo" on SF1. One day before the single will be released in Switzerland. Video clip for six4one entry will be shot on February 26th-29th in Nafplio (Greece). The director of the video will be Reto Caduff. |

| "If We All Give A Little" is a catchy pop-rock hymn with a sophisticated arrangement (Norbert Daum) and with the cooperation of the "Munich Philharmonics" backed by musicians such as Gunther Gebauer (bass), Thomas Drescher (drums), Mats Bjorklund & Charly Hornemann (guitars), as well as Walter Schmidt & Conrad Bekk (keyboards). The main message of the song lyrics is a desire that the world may come closer together, and that each and everyone of us contribute to the realization of this wish. six4one are not a typical casting band – this can be well recognized on their album which is to be released on 17 March in Switzerland, closely followed by releases in other countries. Together they can be heard singing new pop songs such as “Friends Are Friends”, “Never Give Up Your Dreams” and “We Are Tomorrow” written by Ralph Siegel and Bernd Meinunger, the latter also responsible for the lyrics of last year’s Swiss entry performed by Vanilla Ninja. Contest 2006 has been revealed. The casting session for Switzerland's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens was held between 25 and 27 November in the Olympia Studios in Munich. The organisers' aim was to find singers with the winning combination of voice and personality. Organizers were looking for 6 highly professional soloists from different European countries.  As we already revealed
Liel from Israel is first singer to join Six4One. We have already introduced her
below. Andreas Lundstedt, from Sweden, is a member of the world-famous band Alcazar. The band had the whole of Europe humming in 2002 with only its second single, "Crying at the Discotheque". Andreas has been in show business since he was a child. At the tender age of five he took second place in a talent contest, and by 15 was singing and appearing on television in the child band "Stage Four". After spending two years in New York, he returned to take part in the Swedish national heats for the Eurovision Song Contest, in which he was runner-up with "Driver dagg faller regn". The track was a huge hit in Sweden. He has since gone on to perform in a variety of musicals, including Grease and Chicago, and is currently starring as Toni Manero in Saturday Night Fever at the Oscarsteatern in Stockholm. is from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Born in Sarajevo, at 18 she moved on her own to the USA, where
she studied singing at Louisiana College. In 1996, she graduated with a bachelor's degree
before continuing her studies at the University of Louisiana's School of Music, where she
majored in opera singing, performance and teaching. In addition to playing a variety of
roles in musicals and operas, she performed as a soloist and also worked with the Sarajevo
Philharmonics. In 2005, Tinka took part in Bosnia / Herzegovina's national Eurovision Song Contest heats. Here, she was the TV audience's favourite and was placed second by the nine-strong jury. For two years now, Tinka has had her own radio talk show on Bosnia's biggest radio station, and is also a regular presenter of the "TV Bingo Show". Another well-known singer comes from Malta: Keith Camilleri is a regular guest on Maltese television shows and also acts in a popular television series. In February 2004, he took part in the Maltese national Eurovision Song Contest heats, coming an excellent fourth with the song "Tango for two". In 2005, Keith again enjoyed musical success in Malta with the track "Sunshine in your eyes".  Marco Matias' roots are in
Portugal. Although his parents emigrated to Germany, he returns regularly to his homeland.
Marco and his band took third place in the "Grand Prix" music contest for the
Portuguese-speaking world in Portugal in 2000. Three years later he took part in the open
casting session to find the voice of Germany 2003. Out of 12,000 entrants, Marco made it
to the last nine and was ultimately placed second in this major ZDF production. Marco and
his duet partner Nicole Sьssmilch achieved another second place in the German national
heats for this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Last but not least, the group
includes Claudia D’Addio of
Switzerland. Claudia has been known as "The Voice" since her appearance on the
MusicStar casting show. Along with the other "MusicStars", she has already
celebrated two number-one hits. Claudia's incredible voice makes her without doubt one of
Switzerland's best singers. Her passionate performances give away her Italian roots. Ralph Siegel: “I am more than happy about the fact that we found such great and charming singers. When they came together in the studio, we knew that we had the right mix, they sounded great and radiated personality. The six artists work well together and the end result is better than we could have ever hoped for. The idea for the group came to me this summer when I was in Italy. Bernd sent me a demo tape of a song he had written in September and asked me to develop it. The song was completed just three days ahead of the deadline to enter the song to the Swiss Eurovision team. Naturally I was extremely happy to be chosen by the Swiss team.” Foreigners for Switzerland? Well - some of them have been very successful in the past, e.g. the legendary Esther Ofarim who missed the victory very closely in 1963 with her song “T’en vas pas”. In 1988, Celine Dion, famous all over the world, was luckier winning the competition with her song “Ne partez pas sans moi”. And last year, the Estonian group Vanilla Ninja brought the best result in 12 years to Switzerland and achieved the direct qualification for the grand final on 20 May in Athens.  The young singer Liel Colette will represent
Switzerland in Eurovision 2006 that will take place in Greece. Colette, 16, is almost unknown singer in Israel, is in close relations with the German procuder Ralph Siegel, was invited to Germany by the head of the Swiss artist selection committee, where she was announced that they want her as their representative. Siegel played a recording of Liel's songs to the committee, which liked what they heard, and invited her to a successful meeting. Liel will be joined by singers from other countries to form the group that will represent Switzerland, which will be called "Six for one". "If Switzerland wins, then Israel will win too", says her personal manager Irit Tenhengel. "It's just a contest and it's good for everyone. Liel is a true embassador, wherever she goes she explains and sings about Israel". On 14 January Liel she will perform in the Swiss "Oscar" awards, in which she will be officially announced as the Swiss entrant in the coming Eurovision.  SF DRS has announced that Swiss
Eurovision entry 2006 will be written by Ralph Siegel and Bernd Meinunger, both of whom
have history of over 15 Eurovision entries. It is emphasized that performer of the song
was not yet selected. Unofficial sources claim that despite having the short-list of
submitted entrants to the contest, from which German Lou Bega and Mia Aegeter look like
favourites, Ralph Siegel may bring with him some other performer and new name Paloma is
one of the mentioned.The head of delegation, Toni Wachter, underlined that performer with
a strong voice, extensive live performance experience and a great stage presence will be
chosen, and they will also be considering strong Swiss voices. Among rumoured names
already are Francine Jordi (Switzeland 2001) and Tinka Milinovic from Bosnia. Toni Wachter
rejected Jordi rumour. Composers from seven countries (Spain, the UK, France, Malta, Germany, Canada and Switzerland) had submitted their songs to SF DRS, TSR and TSI by the deadline for entries. A national jury then met to select a potential hit from all of the submitted songs. |
