NTCU has taken decision not to change songs before the final, so artists will perform same songs that has won respective semifinals. Only winner in case his/her song proves to be ineligible will be able to change it before the Eurovision final. So in fact we are getting now selection of the performer, not contest entry.
To the list of 15 semi winners 4 wildcards from organizers are expected to be added.
Contest final is scheduled for 27th of February in NTCU studio.

НТКУ приняло решение не менять песни перед финалом, таким образом артисты выступят в нем с теми же песнями, что и на отборе. Победитель, в случае если его песня окажется нелегитимной сможет заменить ее для участия в финале Евровидения. Таким образом фактически финал будет выбором исполнителя, а не песни.
К списку 15 финалистов будут добавлены 4 вайлдкард от организаторов.
Финал конкурса пройдет 27го февраля в студии НТКУ.

Musiciants told that they are preparing their presentation with participation of ballet Soul B, costumes will be designed by Lilia Pustovit.
Now band has left for promo tour which will cover: Malta, Andorra, Spain, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia, Latvia, Lithuania, Cyprus, Greece, Albania.
"People are calling us from all these countries and are telling that they are awaiting our concerts there. We will be very glad to perform for European audience."
Band will also perform different tracks from their 8 year career.

Translation note: "the bit translated as 'little understandings', is formerly translated as 'Prison Rules'. It is used to mean the kind of rules that are not written down on paper. The reference that "we are not goats" comes from an comment Yanukovych made, in which he dismissed the protesters in Kyiv as 'goats'. Perhaps the closest comparable word in English would be "bastard". "Bydlo" is even more rude kind of word and "beasts of burden" is also too rough translation of it, it is somewhere close to uneducated, stupid persons.

Razom nas bahato - nas ne podolati!
Оранжевая революция, прошедшая на Украине в конце 2004 года тоже имеет собственный гимн. "Нас много и нас не победить" был главным слоганом, который звучал в течении нескольких недей на всех площадях городов Украины. Это девиз пробуждения украинской нации и он же послужил вдохновением музыкантов на создание песни, сопутствующей этому событию.
История группы Гриджоли.
Два Романа встретились в 1992 году. Роман Костюк, проходивший военное обучение в Ивано-Франковске встретил в Доме Офицеров Романа Калина. Оказалось, что у них обоих одинаковые музыкальные интересы. Роман Костюк играл на гитаре, а Роман Калин, который закончил школу по классу аккордеона уже играл в группе Захид.
Подужившись ребята вступили в группу Нема марли, название которой говорило о музыке, которую они играли - регги с местными влияниями. Позднее стилистика немного поменялась и они стали играть рок баллады.
В 1997 году была создана группа Гринджоли, которая часто выступала в Ивано-Франковске и других Украинских городах и принимала укчастие на различных фестивалях.
Третий участник группы Андрий Писецкий (клавишные и саксофон) - это старый друг участников группы, официально ставший ее членом в Феврале 2005 года.
The Orange Revolution, which took place at the end of 2004 in the Ukraine, also had its anthem. ‘Together We Are Many, We Can't Be Defeated!’ was the main slogan that sounded out for several weeks on the main squares of the Ukraine’s cities and towns. It was the slogan of a great awakening of the Ukrainian people and has inspired musicians to compose an accompanying song for the most prominent event in the recent history of our country. The band from Ivano-Frankivsk had composed a song, which became a soundtrack to the famous autumn events. It is even called the same: ‘Razom Nas Bahato – Nas Ne Podolaty!’ (‘Together We Are Many, We Can't Be Defeated!’)
The band’s history
Before becoming members of the Greenjolly band, two Romans met in 1992. Roman Kostyuk, serving a military training in Ivano-Frankivsk, met Roman Kalyn at the Officers House. They had some common musical interests. Roman Kostyuk was fond of playing guitar and Roman Kalyn, who had graduated from music school on the accordion, already played in the band called Zakhid (West).
After developing a fruitful creative friendship, the guys became members of the Nemamarli (No Marley) band – a name which says something about the music they played. They played upbeat reggae with touches of Ukrainian music. Later, the musicians changed their music ideology and began to play more serious or ‘heavy’ music: rock ballads.
In 1997 they created a band of their own – Greenjolly (by the way, this word means wooden sledge in Hutsul dialect). Greenjolly frequently played in Ivano-Frankivsk and other Ukrainian cities and took part in various festivals.
The third band member, Andriy Pisetskyi (keyboards and saxophone) is an old mutual friend and recently has joined the band. The first performance of the band in full strength took place in February 2005.
Roman Kalyn was born on April 17, 1968 in Ivano-Frankivsk. His mother Natalia Vasylivna Kalyn had worked all her life in the ‘Mebli’ regional furniture firm, where she had risen from being a common economist to the general accountant. She has now retired.
His father Igor Yevstakhovych Kalyn has worked in several different sectors – he has been a director of a food company, a warehouseman, a steward. He died on July 19, 1994.
Like other children Roman started a school at the age of 7. His favourite number, by the way is 17: he was born on the 17th, he had been studied at school number 17, he lived in apartment number 107 (almost 17)!. Because he loved music, while studying in the 5th grade, Roman entered music school specialising in the accordion and he graduated from it with the highest grades. At the same time he learned to play the guitar as well.
In the 8th grade, Roman started a band called Vizyt (Visit), in which he played bass guitar. The band performed on the school parties.
In 1985, after graduating from school, Roman entered Ivano-Frankivsk Oil and Gas Institute. After finishing the first year of study, Roman was taken to the ranks of the USSR army. Roman served in the army in Germany for two years, as a member of a military band. That is where Roman improved his mastery of the trumpet, bass guitar, drum kit and keyboards.
In 1988 Roman returned to the institute to study and that year he met Victor Morhunov which resulted in the creation of the first rock-band in Western Ukraine – Zakhid (West). Alongside his studies and playing in the band, Roman met an amazing girl Tetyana, who became his wife in 1990. Their daughter Natalia was born soon after on January 28, 1991; around the time that the Ukraine gained its independence.
In 1989 the Zakhid band performed for the public at ‘The Red Rue’ music festival. After this event, the Zakhid band received a number of invitations to different concerts and festivals, but unfortunately the guitarist fell ill and had to leave the band.
Serhiy Popovych was dragged into the group and offered to change the style of music and the name. The band Zakhid was transformed into Mynula Yun (Past Yun).
In 1991 the band took part in ‘The Red Rue’ music festival, held in Zaporizhya. In the Ukraine, the band was not involved in any promotion, but in Russia they were much publicized. A well-known musical critic pronounced the band ‘the best and the most interesting band of the former CIS’.
In 1996, friends Morhunov and Kalin created the band Nema Marli (No Marley), which played reggae music. That is when Roman Kostyuk, who was invited by Kalyn to join the band as guitarist. The Nema Marli took part in a festival ‘The Pearls of the Season – 97’.
In 1998, Kalyn and Kostyuk created a new band called Greenjolly, and two new musicians, drummer Vasya Zuz and keyboard player Drakon (Dragon), joined them. This band wrote new songs and took part in several festivals: ‘The Future of Ukraine’, where they won the second prize, ‘The Melody’, where they won the honorary second prize and ‘The Pearls of the Season’ festival where the band also took the second place. In 2001 ex-bass guitarist of the La Manche band Sashko Tokarev and ex-drummer of the Deya band Igor Ozarko joined the band. As a result the band gained a new lease of life and recorded a number of acoustic songs.
In due course, Roman Kalyn and Roman Kostyuk had the idea of establishing a recording studio which is how the Roma Records studio was created and it has produced high-quality recordings for local musicians. In 2004 the guys were invited to work with Zakhidniy Polus (Western Pole) radio station.
And on November 23, 2004, on the square in Ivano-Frankivsk, Roman Kostyuk and Roman Kalyn performed their new song ‘We Are Many’ in a hip-hop style, which was unlike their previous work. That started a new era in the band’s life and in the history of Ukrainian music as a whole.
Roman believes his personality was shaped at the age of 16 when he started to learn the guitar and found out that music was the most important thing in his life. Roman says he was fortunate to have a good teacher, Valentyn Mamedov – an expert in all styles of guitar-playing. Inspired by his teacher, Roman jumped headlong into music, playing the guitar between six and eight hours a day. Because of his strong desire to become a real musician, Roman progressed very quickly.
Musicians have a proverb: ‘If your job gets in the of music, it’s time to change your job’. Roman’s life seems to have followed this principle since the age of 16.
At 21 years he married a fascinating girl Lesya, to whom he is grateful for her support, patience and understanding.
At the age of 29 the ‘Greenjolly’ period of his life began. Roman began to write his first compositions. He had already written lyrics, and so he made his first attempts to create his own music.
The desire to write music never left him; on the contrary, it became a part of his life. He and Roman Kalyn have established their own recording studio in Ivano-Frankivsk, where help local bands to create music. The musicians written in many different styles and have improved as arrangers and composers of the songs. Roman Kostyuk considers that “God has presented us with an opportunity to become professionals through diligent work and persistence”.
Pisetskyi Andriy
Andriy Ihorovych Pisetskyi was born on December 4, 1979, in Ivano-Frankivsk.
His mother Lenina Pisetska works in a music school and his father Ihor Pisetskyi works as an engineer on the repair and engineering works.
Andriy has a younger brother Maksym, born in 1986, who is studying in Zhytomyr Military Institute of Radio Electronics.
Andriy graduated from the music school where he learnt violin and saxophone. After school, he graduated from Ivano-Frankivsk Academy of Music where he specialised in saxophone.
Nowadays he works in a variety-symphony orchestra as a musician. He takes part in different contests and festivals and joined the Greenjolly band in January 2005.
Над клипом работала студия “Крылья” во главе с продюсером Еленой Ганцяк-Каськив и известным режиссером Андреем Новоселовым. В послужном списке последнего несколько художественных и документальных фильмов, рекламные ролики, а также клипы к песням Филиппа Киркорова, Аллы Пугачевой, группе “Чай вдвоем”, “Танцы минус”, “Ногу свело” и многим другим исполнителям. Оператором видео “Razom Nas Bahato” стал Jan Hoffmann, который снимал видео для группы ATB, а также работал над рекламными роликами.
Клип Гринджол снимали в разных местах: в историческом районе Киева – Подоле, на Рыбальском полуострове. В съемках клипа содействовали Киевская городская администрация, British Council и Министерство Чрезвычайных Ситуаций.
Согласно сценарию видеоклипа группа раскрашивает серый мир в яркие цвета. Клип к композиции “Razom Nas Bahato” - своего рода метафора о свободе каждого человека, о яркости каждого момента жизни. Для того, чтобы рассеять мрачный ореол серого города, музыканты устраивают фейерверк и играют свою песню. Для съемок клипа понадобилось больше двух километров ткани.
Клип Гринджол “Razom Nas Bahato” станет новым прочтением композиции, откроет ее посыл, адресованный людям всей планеты.
Video is done by "Krylia" studio with producer Elena Gantsyak-Kaskiv and director Andrey Novoselov, who has filmed number of movies and documentaries, advertisements and also music videos for Philipp Kirkorov, Alla Pugachova, Chai Vdvoyom, Tantsy Minus, Nogu Svelo etc. Operator of the video was Jan Hoffmann who also filmed videos for ATB band and also advertisements.
Video was filmed in a different places - historical region of Kiev - Podol and Rybalskiy penninsular. Team was assisted by Kiev City Administration, British Council and Emergency Ministry.
According to the scenario of the video - band is colouring gray world into bright colours. The videos message is freedom of each person, brightness of each moment of live. To get rid of gray atmosphere of the city musiciants play their song and do fireworks. More than 2 kilometers of fabrics were used for the video.
Video of Greenjolly will become new meaning of the song and will discover it's message addressed to the people of the whole planet.
"Мы сейчас работаем над текстом, который меняем чуть ли не через каждых два часа, - рассказал лидер "Гринджол" Роман Калин. - Созваниваемся со своими знакомыми из Чехии, Польши и Германии - консультируемся. Ведь надо, чтобы текст песни был понятен не только украинцам, но иностранцам. Когда наконец-то текст утвердили и мы его разучили, буквально два дня назад опять было принято решение внести некоторые правки. Этот вариант мы записали накануне съемок. В качестве саунд-продюсера записи выступил Виталий Телезин, наш земляк, работавший в Киеве с Евгением Ступкой. Он сотрудничал с "ВВ" и "Океаном Ельзи" (является саунд-продюсером их последнего альбома). Поскольку мы сами уже не пацаны, то ответственность за песню мы несем пятьдесят на пятьдесят и окончательное решение все же берем на себя".
Несмотря на съемку клипа, окончательный вариант песни пока не утвержден. Музыканты оставляют за собой право внести правку в тот текст песни, под которую они снимали клип. В "спорных" местах текста, которые, возможно, еще подвергнутся корректировке, в кадре будут показывать не самих артистов, а массовку и общие планы. Пока известно, что часть песни "Гринджолы" будут исполнять на английском, а часть - на украинском языках.
"We are changing lyrics almost every 2 hours" - tells Roman Kalin - "We are calling our friends from Czech Republic, Poland, Germany and get their advices. We need the song lyrics to be understood not only by Ukrainians but by Europeans too. Finally we approved some variant and rehearsed it, but 2 days ago we've added something new again. This lyrics we have recorded right before video filming. Sound producer of the record was Vitaliy Telezin, who worked with Evgeni Stupka, BB, Okean Elzi. As we are not boys ourselves so we all share responsibility and we take the final decision on the lyrics".
Despite filming of the video final variant of the lyrics is not approved yet. Musiciants still decided to film in most questionable parts not themselves but other persons, so they will have chance to overdub the video with final variant of the lyrics. It is only confirmed that part of the song will be performed in English and part in Ukrainian language.
Ситуация резко изменилась буквально за несколько дней: новое руководство НТКУ, назначенное менее чем за неделю до финала, обойдя все прошедшие полуфиналы пригласило к участию в конкурсе 4 группы, отличившиеся во время Оранжевой революции на Майдане. Ставка была определенно сделана на главный революционный гимн - Разом нас богато - о чем и свидетельствовало последнее стартовое место данной композиции.
В то время, как группа De Shifer заменила имя президента в своей песне, группа Гринджоли исполнила песню в оригинальном варианте.
Понятно, что сейчас средства массовой инфоормации (и прежде всего в России) взбунтуются против песни выставленной Украиной, фокусируя на ее тексте. Мы бы хотели со своей стороны больше обратить внимания на принципы Украинского отбора, который был больше всего похож на хаос или броуновское движение. А при обсуждении песни на ее музыкальную сторону.
Результат этого мы увидем в мае. Будет ли песня оценена странами Европы, или Украине придется вновь начинать следующий год с полуфинала конкурса?
Situation has changed in the couple of days: new leadership of NTCU disregarding selection principle, when other finalists were being selected in the 15 weeks contest has invited 4 bands which were remembered as one of propagandists of Orange Revolution in Kiev. Main hope for organizers was main revolutionary anthem Razom nas bogato - which was put last in the draw.
At the time when De Shifer band decided not to use name of Victor Yuschenko and changed the lyrics of the song, band Greenjolly performed the song in it's original variant.
It is clear that mass-media in Europe and especially in Russia will revolt against the lyrics of the song. We would suggest that they should more fix first of all on principles of Ukranian preselection which had turned in the end to complete chaos. And while discussing the song on musical criteria and disregard the political appeals in it.
Result of it we will see in May. Whether this song will be appraised by European countries or Ukraine will start again from the semifinal of the contest?
Рядом со зданием в котором проходила пресс-конференция собралась толпа молодых людей с символикой Украинского Социал-Демократического союза молодежи. Группа выкрикивала лозунги "Позор конкурсу! Ани Лорак - Так! Ани Лорак на Евровидение! Ани, мы с тобой!" Приехавшая группа Гринджоли поприветствовала манифестантов и даже некоторое время повыкрикивала с ними лозунги в поддержку Ани Лорак.
На самой же пресс-конференции участниками группы был сделан ряд важнейших заявлений:
- Это была не наша инициатива принять участие в конкурсе. А принять участие в нем изначально мы не могли, так как песня появилась уже после его начала. Мы за справедливое голосование и если существуют обоснованные сомнения - то мы готовы на переголосование.
- У нас еще есть три недели для подготовки песни к конкурсу. Мы планируем полностью изменить песню оставив только текст припева. Мы рассматриваем ряд новых названий, например "Песня свободы" или "Песня свободных людей". Также мы рассматриваем вариант перевода песни на английский.
- У нас расправились крылья и мы не будем сейчас кричать, что порвем всех, но, думаю, со временем мы это сможем заявить.
- Это не единственная песня в нашем репертуаре. На сингл с ней была включена и еще одна песня, а сейчас мы работаем над полноценным альбомом.
Андрей Дахновский, представитель компании Ukrainian Records:
- Эта песня единственный наш шанс показать что-то достойное Европе.
- Мы планируем всестороннюю поддержку группы, включая промоционный мировой тур.
- С группой будет работать профессиональные стилисты, хореографы и режиссеры, также возможно привлекут западных продюсеров.
Near the press-conference building protests were held, people with Ukranian social-democratic youth Union symbols had demanded that Ani Lorak should represent Ukraine at the contest. They shouted "Ani Lorak - Tak! Ani Lorak we are for you! Shame to the contest! Eurovision! Ani Lorak!"
The singers of Greenjolly had joined for the short time this people and supported them also shouting "Ani Lorak - Tak!"
Some breaking information was given during conference by Greenjolly members:
- Participation in the contest was not our initiative. And originally we couldn't participate as our song was created after the start of it. If there are doubts in fair result we are eager to held revoting of the NF if it is technically possible.
- From the original variant only chorus will be left. Verses and songtitle will be completely reworked. We have three more weeks for this. Songtitles suggested are: "Freedom song" and "Song of free people". Also we are considering possibility to perorm the song in English.
- Now we had spread our wings and we won't shout now that we will beat them all, but I think in future we will be able to declare this.
- This is not our "only" song. And another song was performed at the conferences. Band is now working on their debut album.
Manager of the Ukranian Records Andrei Dahnovski:
- Greenjolly is the only chance for Ukraine to get some good result at the Eurovision 2005 and to show something to Europe.
- We are planning to organize world promotional tour for the band.
- Professional stylists, choreographs and directors will work with the band, possibly we will also invite Western producers.
Таким образом остается открытым пока один вопрос: может ли текст песни нарушать правило ЕВС о том что текст песни не может навлекать на конкурс плохую репутацию? Вот как прокомментировал это представитель ЕВС:

Надо будет тщательно изучить ситуацию, Евровидение это все-таки не конкурс политической песни. Если окажется, что это деиствительно политическая пропаганда, то это может противоречить правилам конкурса. На этой неделе мы проведем специальную телефонную конференцию и решим этот вопрос.
В настоящее время было принято следующее решение: группе было дано время до 12 марта подготовить новый вариант текста песни. В случае если это не будет сделано или новый текст песни будет также не принят ЕВС - то группе разрешено до 21 марта выбрать новую песню для исполнения.
Как нам стало известно 14 марта новый текст был принят Европейским вещательным союзом сняв все проблемы с песней.
So the only one question which is still undecided is that whether song lyrics can break the rule on bringing the contest into a disrepute? This are the reactions from EBU:
Svante Stockselius, Eurovision coordinator:
We should study situation more carefully as Eurovision is not the contest of political songs. If it proves to be real political propaganda then it can be against the rules of the contest. We will hold later this week a special telephone conference and solve this problem.
At the present moment band is facing two deadlines set by EBU: they should submit new lyrics by the March 12th date. In case they fail to do so they have time by March 21st to select new song for the contest.
As we learned on 14th of March new lyrics were approved by EBU that finishing the story.
К пикетчикам вышел Президент Украины В.Ющенко и заверил их, что даст поручение вице-премьер-министру Украины Н. Томенко относительно проведения дополнительного честного голосования и участия победителя в конкурсе "Евровидение".
Николай Томенко также провел собственную пресс-конференцию:
По его убеждению, как позитивные, так и негативные оценки победы группы «Гринджолы» на украинском отборочном конкурсе для участия в «Евровидении» помогли «раскрутке» этой группы. Томенко отбросил все обвинения в свой адрес относительно вмешательства в голосование. Он отметил, что система голосования разрабатывалась раньше, и он не имел к этому никакого отношения.
По словам Томенко, разговоры о том, что «Гринджолы» могут быть дисквалифицированы являются неуместными. Он отметил, что когда в СМИ появляются подобные сообщения, необходимо «отмечать, что речь идет о мнении отдельного представителя Европейского вещательного союза, а не решении этой структуры».
Томенко отметил, что критика из уст бывшего руководства Национальной телекомпании Украины является вообще странной. Вице-премьер отметил, что уже существовал документ о перенесении конкурса «Евровидения» из Украины в другую страну, но благодаря полуторачасовому разговору при участии президента Украины Виктора Ющенко и представителей Европейского языкового союза этот вопрос удалось снять.
Вице-премьер заявил, что работа НТКУ была направлена «на одного исполнителя». «Мне жаль симпатичную певицу Ани Лорак, которую все «политические неудачники» хотят использовать в своих целях», - сказал Томенко. Он выразил надежду, что продюсеры певицы это понимают.
President Victor Yuschenko came to protesters and adressed them saying that he is going to ask vice-prime minister Tomenko to conduct of fair revoting of the National Final.
Tomenko himself issued today statement saying that all mass-media reactions already helped to promote Ukrainian entry. He strongly denied all rumours that it was he who promoted the band. He noted that voting system was something that was prepared long time ago and he was not related to it.
According to Tomenko all disqualification of Greenjolly rumours come from some unprofessional journalists and one representative of EBU who had just expressed his opinion. EBU in general took no steps against the Urkainian entry.
He also declared that despite some representative of EBU denies that he had already seen the document to transfer Eurovision to the other country, but all problems were solved during 1.5 hour meeting between Yuschenko and EBU.
Tomenko also declared that all previous organization of NTU was also unprofessional and made for the one singer namely Ani Lorak. "I'm sorry for her as she is nice singer, but now all political failures are trying to use her".

То, что произошло вчера, повергло страну в шок. Такого кощунства и наглости от правительства никто не ожидал.
В нарушение условий отборочного тура, господином Томенко насильно были введены дополнительно четыре коллектива в состав финалистов отборочного тура. Это коллективы, которые поддерживали Ющенко на Майдане.
Более ста человек мне перезвонили и жаловались, что не смогли ни разу дозвониться на номер, указанный для голосования. После 6 минут голосования перестали приниматься СМС сообщения на мобильном операторе КИЕВСТАР.
За неделю до финала я был предупрежден одним влиятельным лицом, вхожем в круги помаранчевых, о том, что будет делаться все, чтобы победил на отборе ЛЮБОЙ другой участник, только не Ани Лорак. В отместку на то, что Ани Лорак не участвовала в политических мероприятиях в поддержку Ющенко.
Считаю, что данное действие государства не даем морального права стране участвовать в Евровидении,
Тем более проводить Евровидение в Украине.

Мы все прекрастно понимали какая задача стоит перед Таяной и перед всеми нами; Что такое конкурс Евровидение- это красивое, зрелищное телевизионное шоу для европейцев и по-этому подготовка к финалу велась по всем параметрам, которые существуют в европейском
шоу-бизнесе: песня, костюмы, визаж и причёска, свет и световые заставки по теме песни, эстрадная постановка по теме песни...
Таяна выступила просто замечательно - всё что было запланировано, было сделано на отлично! А то ,что происходило со звуком на сцене, и с голосованием - это главный вопрос к организаторам?
По поводу звука :
-фонограмма на сцене в мониторах во- время выступления вообще не была слышна, приходилось ловить эхо фонограммы уже с зала, совсем не был настроен микрофон под песню (суб-тоном многократно возникали просто ужастные проблемы с озвучкой (фонило,трещало,гудело)...
А по поводу так называемого «голосования» мы все вообще молчим: было ли оно »голосование» как таково вообще???
-всем голосовавшим за Таяну и ее песню «Оттай» так и не разу не удалось дозвониться в центр принятия голосов и проголосовать за Таяну…
-главный вопрос почему не принимались голоса за Таяну?

Для начала скажу, что начиная с 5 февраля я перестал относиться к этому мероприятию как к конкурсу. Я влюбился. Опять таки банально, но до чего же замечательно! С того дня единственное, что может меня расстроить - невозможность встретиться с любимой девушкой. Финал стал для меня ещё одним способом сказать "Я тебя люблю!", что я и сделал прямо в эфире.
Теперь вам станет понятно, что я не очень внимательно следил за происходящим, т.к. думал о своём. Единственное, что я могу сказать: для меня на этом конкурсе было две фаворитки Ани Лорак и Юлия Коржинская. Я человек старомодный и консервативный - мне бы хотелось, чтобы Украину на Евровидении представляла красивая женщина с сильным голосом. Я долго колебался, кому же из двух этих замечательных певиц отдать свою личную пальму первенства, и склонился к Юлии Коржинской. Её песня стала для меня самым ярким отражением тех событий, которые происходили в Украине.
Что же касается песни "Корабли", то она была изначально написана на русском языке, специально для Евровидения я заказал её перевод на английский и украинский языки. Каюсь, был такой период, когда, вдохновленный примером Русланы, я серьезно собирался представлять Украину на Евровидении. Поэтому и возникло желание понять, будет ли песня звучать на английском языке. Тогда предполагалось один из припевов сделать украинским, для этого был сделан перевод. Для отборочного я записал вариант с украинскими куплетом и припевом для того, чтобы смысл песни (а мне, как человеку, который сам пишет тексты и смеет надеяться на то, что в них есть смысл, это очень важно) был понятна и тем, кто не очень хорошо владеет английским.
Николай Томенко - вице-премьер:
песня «Разом нас багато, нас не полодати» стала настоящим гимном «оранжевой революции». Конечно, можно дебатировать о музыкальном уровне самой группы, но эта песня – бесспорный хит Украины 2005 года. Поскольку «Евровидение» – это конкурс прежде всего песен и стран, единственной, наиболее конкурентной в этом году на конкурсе «Евровидение» может быть песня-гимн «оранжевой революции», которой ждет европейский зритель. С помощью известных представителей украинского шоу-бизнеса песня группы «Гринджолы» будет «обрамлена» так, что она станет не только конкурентной, но и сможет соревноваться за призовые места в конкурсе «Евровидение-2005».
Так как конкурс начался до революции, а завершился после революции, то справедливо было бы, если бы приняли участие больше групп. Мы готовы ко всему, потому что сейчас мы страна, на которую равняется весь мир. Даже если бы Украину на "Евровидении" в мае представлял бы певец Михаил Поплавский, страна все равно заняла бы не меньше 5-го места.

убежден, что уже сама принадлежность украинского участника "Евровидения-2005" к "оранжевой революции" увеличивает шансы Украины на победу в конкурсе как минимум вдвое. Важен не текст песни, не мелодия или красота исполнителя, а уникальность. А сейчас уникально все, что связано с украинской революцией. Если наш исполнитель будет проявлением такого явления как Украина, то победить ему не составит никакого труда в принципе.

Группа, которая не принимала участия в отборочных турах и песня которой была одним из гимнов «оранжевой революции», вышла в финал конкурса благодаря «протекции» вице-премьера Томенко, что является грубым нарушением правил конкурса и уж очень смахивает на коррупцию. Такого не было даже во времена Кучмы, к которым так рьяно апеллировала бывшая оппозиция. Обычная телефонная линия не работала, и голосование проходило лишь по sms. Я предлагаю результаты финала считать недействительными, и пока не разобраны декорации, провести повторное голосование, как на президентских выборах.

Победа группы «Гринджолы» – политический заказ.
Группа «Гринджолы» из всех, кто был представлен на Евровидении, была очевидно самой слабой группой. Они никогда не имели особой популярности и в Западной Украине, где как раз подобного рода музыка вроде бы и культивируется. О «Гринджолах» там никто не упоминал. На фоне таких исполнителей, как «Мандры» или Талита Кум, они смотрятся очень слабо
Группа «Гринджолы» была включена в конкурс с нарушением правил и победила при самом активном участии вице-премьер-министра Украины по гуманитарным вопросам Николая Томенко. При голосовании звонки фильтровались, и в результате проголосовали только те регионы, где «оранжевая революция» была популярна.
У нас есть колоссальная музыкальная культура и жертвовать ей ради каких-то политических однодневок немного неосторожно и непродуманно

Я пребываю в состоянии шока, потому что просто не могу себе представить, что на песенном конкурсе «Евровидение-2005» нашу мелодичную, красивую Украину будет представлять вот ЭТО.
Наверное, это беда, когда политический лозунг превращается в песню. Похоже, в нашей стране есть люди, которые очень хотели бы продолжить мгновения оранжевой революции и сделать ее, как писал Хемингуэй, «тем праздником, который всегда с тобой». … представители «честной новой власти» «демократично» выкрутили руки моим коллегам по НТКУ». Дело в том, что последние месяцы Нацтелекомпания получает деньги только на зарплату, а посему была загнана в глухой угол — не было денег даже чтобы завершить отборочный конкурс. И затем, хотя я и не могу сказать этого со всей определенностью, появился некий «пряник».
Хотя я и не говорю, что голосование в финале было подтасовано — нет, эти звонки действительно были, но, убежден на 200%, их просто «организовали» по команде на местах, потому что иначе это объяснить просто невозможно. И, наконец, я хотел бы сказать, что просто счастлив, что непричастен к этому театру абсурда
По всем законам: музыкальным, человеческим, вокальным, визуальным, эстетическим, победителем должна была стать Ани Лорак. В данном же случае гораздо честнее было бы, мне кажется, просто отменить конкурс, чтобы господин Томенко сказал: вот эти, которых «багато», поедут на «Евровидение».

"Евровидение» - это конкурс, на котором каждая страна показывает не свое наилучшее достижение, так как прекрасному нет предела, а каждая страна декларирует свой дух. Сегодня Украину в мире знают как миролюбивую страну, гордый народ которой осуществил потрясающую «оранжевую революцию» и этот дух Европа хочет видеть.
Я знаю многих работников дипломатических учреждений, работающих в нашей стране и за границей. Когда я с ними общаюсь они, первым делом, когда меня встречают, поют «Разом нас багато...». Все поют эту песню. Я думаю, у нас выхода другого нет.

Вице-премьер-министр Украины Николай Томенко «протолкнул» группу «Гринджолы» в финал отборочного конкурса «Евровидение», обеспечив тем самым победу этого коллектива. Этот факт является показателем общей, в том числе и политической культуры так называемой «новой» власти. И дело здесь вовсе не в певцах, которые поют искренне, но непрофессионально, а в том, как нагло власть использует этих ребят в своих бескультурно-политических проектах, продвигая исполнителей дилетантского рэпа, то есть речитатива, состоящего из примитивных слоганов, на Евровидение. Нельзя спокойно наблюдать за тем, как певучую украинскую нацию выставляют на европейское посмешище. Потому что «Евровидение» - это конкурс профессиональных исполнителей, конкурс мелодии, песни, артистизма, а не политический митинг на Майдане.
Союз молодежи регионов Украины:
Произошедшее в воскресенье 27 февраля стало неожиданностью для украинского народа и молодежи, которые на протяжении нескольких месяцев следили за конкурсным отбором. Результат финального тура вызвал эмоциональный всплеск среди людей, близких к этому событию. Условия, являющиеся обязательными для всех исполнителей, резко изменились! Победу получила группа, которая фактически не принимала участие в борьбе за почетное право представлять Украину на авторитетном международном конкурсе!

Я не знаю глубины этого процесса. Но то, что я слышу от людей, многие говорят, что это решение было несправедливое... Но я как гражданин обязательно буду болеть за них, я обязательно буду отстаивать интересы граждан Украины.
Комментарий пресс-службы президента Виктора Ющенко:
Президент Украины приветствовал гурт „Грынджолы” с победой в финальном отборочном туре для песенного конкурса «Евровидение-2005». В телефонном разговоре с участниками группы Ющенко пожелал им достойно представить Украину на юбилейном «Евровидение». По словам Президента, сейчас символом Украины является Майдан, а одним из символов Майдана стала песня группы „Грынджолы” «Разом нас багато», которая в дни оранжевой революции объединяла людей и вселяла веру в победу. По мнению Ющенко, именно объединяющая роль этой песни сделала ее популярной, и вчера большинство украинцев голосовали не только за любимую композицию, а и за новую Украину, за наше ожидание на перемены. Виктор Ющенко еще раз подчеркнул, что украинская власть хочет, чтобы «Евровидение» дало возможность миру увидеть новую Украину, которая стала на путь важных реформ. В связи с этим он отметил высокую ответственность, которая ложится на группу.

У меня нет никаких сомнений в том, что результаты конкурса абсолютно честные и отражают мнение народа. Хотя мне самой группа Гринджоли совсем не нравится.
Во время голосования возникли некоторые технические проблемы. Телефонные линии не справились с наплывом голосов, и голосование продолжалсь только по СМС. Однако в итоговый результат были включены лишь те голоса, на которые был отправлен ответ - ваш голос засчитан. В настоящее время мы проводим пересчет голосов, включая все поступившие СМС. Но итоговый результат остается неизменным - победил номер 19.

Falyosa, manager of Ani Lorak:What had happened yesterday brought country in a complete shock. Nobody has expected such a blasphemy and barefaced impudence from the Government of the our country. Disregarding all the rules of National Preselection Mr. Tomenko has added by his sole decision 5 bands to the list of finalists. That are the bands that supported Yuschenko and his revolution.
More than hundred persons have contacted me yesterday and said that they couldn't use the telephone number to vote for Ani Lorak, after 6 minutes of the voting SMS voting provided by sponsor Kievstar has also failed.
I was warned a week ago, by one respected person who is close to "Orange circles", that it was decided to make everything to ensure that ANY singer should win but not Ani Lorak. Simply because she has not participated in political concerts and meetings in Yuschenko favour.
We think that such steps of our Government doesn't give ethical right for our country to participate in Eurovision this year. And even more to host it in the Ukraine.
Management
of Tayana, one of precontest favourites that got only 13 votes according to the official
result:We all understood pretty well what is the task in front of Tayana and in front of all of us. Eurovision song contest is beautiful entertaining television show for the whole Europe, and that's why we used preparation that is suitable for European show biz and European national preselections, where decisive are: song, costumes, hair style, lights, show on the stage in song presentation...
We think that Tayana coped brilliantly with her task. Everything we planned was made perfectly. And the questions with sound and with televoting - are the questions to the organizers.
Sound problems: phonogram at the stage was not heard at all, the only thing singer could do was to catch echo of it from the hall, microphones were not prepared and we were experiencing big troubles with it's sound (noises etc)
And about our so called "televoting" we won't say anything as we are not sure whether it really existed at all. Nobody of Tayana fans could reach the calling center and cast the vote.
The question to organizers - why no votes for Tayana were accepted???

Gavrilov, performer of the best song in National Final on our site's ranking:For the beginning I'd say that since February 5th I stopped considering this show as a contest. I fell in love. Very simple, but how wonderful this feeling is! And since that day the only thing that could disappoint me was that there was no chance to meet the girl I love. And final was another opportunity for me to say "I love you!" which I did during the live broadcast of the show.
So now you can understand why I was not very carefully following what is going on stage and later, as I had my own thoughts. The only thing I can tell that for me there were 2 favourites at the contest: Ani Lorak and Yulia Korzhinskaya. I'm pretty old fashioned and conservative person - so I wished that Ukraine should be represented by beautiful woman with powerful voice at the Eurovision. I was thinking whom should I favour myself from this 2 singers and finally chose Yulia. Her song for me was the most bright reflection of those events which had happened in Ukraine.
Regading my own song "Korabli", it was originally written in Russian. For Eurovision I specially asked to prepare English and Ukrainian variant. I admit, there was such a funny period when I inspired by Ruslana tried to do my best to represent country at the Eurovision. That's why I decided to try how this song will sound in English. We also decided to do one chorus in Ukrainian, and prepared translation of it with the purpose that meaning of the song (and for me as the songwriter myself it is really important that people get the meaning of the song) can be understood by those who doesn't speak English.
Nikolay Tomenko - vice-prime-minister:We can debate on the musical level of the band itself - but this is the biggest hit song of Ukraine 2005, and we have no doubts for that. Eurovision is contest of songs and countries and most competitive is the song - anthem of Orange revolution. European viewer is waiting for it. We are now the leading country in he world all others are emulating us. With the help of Ukranian show biz we can ensure that this song will be battling for the highest places at the Eurovision. Even sending our worst singer I'm sure Ukraine would never drop out of top 5. And this song can bring us another win.
We were in talks with different bands that have played big role in Orange revolution and 4 of them agreed to take part in the final. It is obvious that we should have added more finalists as a lot of things in the history of the country have happened after the start of the national preselection.

I'm sure that only the fact that Ukranian representative is member of Orange revolution increased at least in 2 times chances of Ukraine to win twice in a row.
Not the lyrics, not the melody, not the face of the performer is importante. But that is unique. And nowdays unique is everything that is connected with revolution.
If our performer will represent such a phenomenon as new Ukraine is, it will not be difficult for him to win at the contest.

televoting failed, no lines were accepting calls and the voting continued on SMS
only which had also failed a short after.
It is unfair that bands were added as jokers simply for their participation in the Orange
revolution thanks to the sole decision of Nikolay Tomenko. This looks like real
corruption. This had never happened even in Kuchma's times. We will demand revoting as on
the presidential elections.
Member of Parliament Taras Chornovil:
Win of Greenjolly is the political order. From all the participants on the National Final
it is the poorest band. As the band they never were known even in their hometown. Compared
with such singers as Talita Kum and Mandri they look very poor.
The band was added to the list and won only with the special decision of
vice-prime-minister Nikolai Tomenko. At the voting all votes were fitered and only those
from the regions which supported Orange revolution were accepted.
We have great musical culture and we are now sacrificing it for some political one
hit wonders. This is unreasoned and careless.

press-service:
Victor Yuschenko wished Greenjolly to represent Ukraine in proper way at the Eurovision
song contest. He considers that their song is symbol of Square of Indepenence where
massive protest actions were held in November-December 2004.
"The uniting role of this song made it popular, and most of Ukranians had voted not
simply for the favourite song but for the new Ukraine and our hopes for changes". The
authorities of the country are expecting that Eurovision will show a new Ukraine to the
whole world. That is why it is really important that this kind of song will represent
country at the contest.
Aleksandr Savenko, ex-president of NTCU:
I am shocked as I can not even imagine that THIS will represent our melodic, beautiful
country at the Eurovision.
It is bad when political slogans are transfered into the song. It seems there are such
people in the country who want to continue moments of Orange Revolution and make it, as
Hemingway wrote - a holiday that always is with you. Representatives of new "honest
and clear" power "democratically" pushed our collegues in NTU to add extra
participants in the list.
The problem is that National Broadcaster has money enough only to pay salary for it's
employees, and had not enough money even to finish preselection. Then some
"bribery" appeared.
I do not say that result was manipulated. Yes - that calls really existed - but the people
in different governmental organizations were pushed to vote for specific candidate. There
is no other explanation. And I'm happy I have nothing to do with this theater of absurd.
Regarding all points of view - musical, human, vocal, visiual, estetic - the winner was
Ani Lorak.
I think that it would have been more honest from Mr. Tomenko's side simply to cancel NF
and declare that internally selected band will represent country at the Eurovision.

Eurovision is the contest where each country doesn't demonstrate their best
achievement, as there is no borders for the beautiful, but each country is declaring it's
spirit. Today Ukraine is know in the world as peaceful country, which proud people had
made marvelous "orange revolution" and Europe is waiting this spirit to be
demonstrated.
I know a lot of workers of different diplomatic organizations in our country and
abroad. When I met them, first thing they do - they sing "Razom nas bogato".
Everyone is singing this song. And I think the choice was obvious.
Communist party of Ukraine:
Vice prime minister of Ukraine Nikolay Tomenko promoted band Greenjolly to the list of
finalists of National Selection and then ensured the win of this band. This fact shows us
general including political culture of so called "new" authorities. The reason
are not the singers themselves, who are singing sincerely though unprofessionally but in
the facts how impudently this authorities are using this guys in there uncultural
political projects, promoting performarce of amateur rap, that is recitative, which is
made of primitive political slogans to the high level contest. We can not disregard the
fact the Ukraine nation which has a lot of professional musiciants will be made fun of by
the whole Europe. Eurovision is contest of professionals, contest of melody, song, art,
but not political gathering at the Square.
Youth Union of Ukraine:
What had happened on 27th of February became total surprise for the whole Ukrainian Nation
and it's youth who were following for some month contest preselection. Result of the
National Final was emotional shock for all the people who were close to this event. Rules
which were obligatory and similar for all contestants had suddenly changed. And the win
was given to the band which has not originally participating in the contest for the right
to represent our country at the prestigeous international event!
Victor Yanukovich, ex prime-minister,
I don't know this process in full. But from what I've heard a lot of people are
saying that this was not fair decision. But as a citizen I will still support the band, as
I will support interests of Ukraine citizens.
Alena Mozgovaya - head of organizing comittee of National selection:
I do not have any doubts that result is fair and represent real wish of Ukrainian nation.
Though I do not like band Greenjolly myself.
There were problems with televoting, telephone voting failed and votes were accepted from
SMS. However in the final result were included only those votes whose senders had received
confirmation of their vote. Now we are recounting the votes and include in the total all
SMS which were sent. But there is no difference in the result - clear winner is number 19.
Авторами «Разом нас багато» являются два Романа - Калин и Костюк - соответственно вокалист и гитарист «Гринджоли». Кстати, «гринджоли» - так называются гуцульские сани. По словам музыкантов, песня родилась буквально за несколько часов и сразу же была записана на собственной студии ребят в Ивано-Франковске. С текстом песни проблем не было: в основу был положен слоган, скандируемый демонстрантами, вышедшими на Майдан поддержать свое право на выбор. Калин и Костюк дописали пару куплетов («Фальсифікаціям - ні! Махінаціям - ні! Понятіям -ні! Ні - брехні!») и положили их на мелодию.
"Мы не ставили целью написать гимн революции, - оправдываются ребята, в мгновение ока превратившиеся из никому не известным музыкантов в одну из самых востребованных украинских групп. - Просто решили написать песню, которая выражала бы настроения народа"
"Разом нас багато" была записана на студии радиостанции "Західний Полюс" (с участием всего коллектива станции) и была выложена в интернете. Через пару дней ее уже распевал весь Майдан Незалежности. По утверждению обоих Романов, к распространению песни они непричастны. "Видимо, кто-то скачал ее из сети и отнес на Майдан", - предполагает Роман Калин.
24 декабря в Киеве состоялось подписание контракта на выпуск сингла "Разом нас багато" между участниками "Гринджоли" и лейблом Ukrainian Records, украинским лицензиатом компании Universal.
На сингл "Разом нас багато", помимо оригинальной версии песни, попали четыре ремикса - диджеев Макса Чорного, DJ Lunizz, Serge_D и Молотов 20 - а также новая песня "Гринджоли" "Пора". На лицевой стороне обложки размещено оранжевое яйцо как символ мирных намерений митингующих. Как известно, яйцо, запущенное в премьер-министра страны Виктора Януковича в ходе его сентябрьской поездки по Ивано-Франковской области, осталось единственным оружием, примененным демонстрантами против власти за весь ход "оранжевой революции". Не считая, конечно, митингов на морозе и крепкого духа.
Тридцатишестилетний Роман Калин работает на студии радиостанции «Західний полюс» звукорежиссером и аранжировщиком, а также на местном телевидении.
«Гринджоли» — это санки на полозьях. Наша первая песня так и называлась, в ней говорилось, как классно на санках лететь с горы. А если название написать английскими буквами «greenjolly», то получится «green» — зеленый, и «jolly» — веселый. И музыка у нас такая веселай, танцевальный регги. Почему гимн получился в стиле "хип-хоп", я и сам не знаю. Просто в голове возникла такая мелодия.
Группа была создана в 1997 году. Прежде всего музыканты работают в студии. Но группа выступала и на фестивалях, в 1998 «Майбутнє України», фестивале «Мелодія», «Перлинах Сезону». Сейчас участники группы создали собственную студию «Рома Рекорд».
Одновременно с презентацией сингла состоялась и презентация видео на песню "Разом нас багато". Режиссером ролика стал Виталий Кокошко. В клип вошли уникальные документальные кадры "оранжевой" революции: съемки в палаточном городке на Крещатике, выступления артистов на Майдане, движение "оранжевых" улицами Киева.
Двенадцать наиболее популярных хип-хоп-исполнителей Польши, которых вдохновила борьба за демократию в Украине, записали свой вариант гимна. Первыми идею записать новый вариант композиции высказали музыканты польского лейбла UMC, который специализируется на хип-хоп-музыке. Известный телеведущий, музыкальный критик и продюсер Роберт Лящинский, который вел концерты в Польше, с помощью Центра общественных организаций Волыни "Наша справа" вышел на контакт с группой "Гринджоли" и рекординговой компанией Ukrainian Records. В результате песня "Разом нас багато" получила новую жизнь: польские хип- хоп-звезды написали свои тексты на тему права каждого человека делать свой выбор, а припев исполняют "Гринджоли".
Authors of "Together we are many" are Roman Kalin and Roman Kostyuk - guitarist and vocalist of "Greenjolly". Actually Greenjolly are Hutsul sleighs. As musiciants decribe idea of the song was born in a very quick time and it was imediately recorded at their studio in Ivano-Frankovsk. No problem was with the lyrics - they had used slogan shouted by demonstrants at Independence Square. Kalin and Kostyuk only added couple of own lines (No falsifications! No machinations! No lie! etc) and added musical rhythm.
"We were not thinking that we can write an revolutionary anthem" tell the guys, who immediately became one of the most well-known Ukranian bands. "We just decided to write the songs which will show the feelings of Ukranian people". "Razom nas bogato" was recorded at the radiostation "Zahidniy Polyus" (all employees of the station participated in it's recording) and was made available in internet. In two days whole Ukraine was singing it. Song was downloaded more than 10000 times this 2 days. As both Romans say - they had nothing to do with the spreading of the song. "It seems someone who downloaded it brought it to protesters at the Square" says Roman Kalin.
On 24th of December in Kiev band signed contract to issue single "Razom nas bogato" with Ukranian records, affiliated company of Universal.
Single included besides original version 4 remixes by DJs Max Cherniy, DJ Lunizz, Serge_D and Molotov 20 and also new song of "Greenjolly" "Pora". Cover of the disc shows us orange egg as symbol of peaceful protests. As it is known that the egg thrown at the prime-minister Victor Yanuckovich in his tour of Ivano-Frankovsk region was the only "weapon" used by demonstrants during all period of Orange Revolution.
36 year old Roman Kalin works at studio of the radio station "Zahidniy polyus" as sound designer and arranger and also at the local regional television broadcaster.
Greenjolly are the Ukranian sledges. Our first song was with same title and it was about how cool is to use sleighs to get down from mount in the winter. And if title is written in English it becomes Green Jolly. So we also write jolly kind of music - dance reggae. Why anthem of revolution got hip-hop style? Don't know, this melody simply appeared in my mind.
Band was created in 1997, first of all it is studio band, but they had participated at different festivals as well - "Maibutne Ukraini", "Melodia", "Perlinah Sezonu". Now members of the band have created own recording studio "Roma Record"
The same time with presentation of single video on the song was also presented. Director of the video was Vitaliy Kokoshko. It shows us documentary shootings from Orange Revolutions: performances at Independence Square, Kreschatic meetings, orange streets of the Kiev.
12 most popular hip-hop performers of Poland have agreed to record their own variant of the anthem. First idea came to the musiciants of UMC label which is specialised in hip-hop music. Famous TV host, music critic and producer Robert Lyaschinski who was hosting shows in Poland with the assist of Center of Public Organizations of Volyn "Nasha sprava" got in contact with Greenjolly and their label Ukranian records. As the result song "Razom nas bogato" was rerecorded, Polish stars wrote own lyrics on the theme of right of choice for each citizen and Greenjolly had performed chorus of the song.
