| Being very displeased
by failing to send Russian participant to the 1998 edition of the contest, ORT decided not
to broadcast event of that year and to make strong comeback next year. At the same time
nobody of Russian organizers took a look at the rules of the contest with the clause that
only broadcasters which have run live broadcast of the contest 1998 will be allowed to
participate in the contest in 1999. So Russia is left without participant in the Eurovision for one more year. This time ORT managed to broadcast the contest live... |
