Song Contest-victory very inspiring for DQ - Winning Danish Song Contest really inspires me to write and perform with more songs like “Drama Queen”. After the victory I thought: “Now I have made something, that people like. I bet I can do that again”… Right now it’s party full-frontal and fast forward like never before for the winner of the Danish Song Contest 2007, DQ (Drama Queen) alias the 34-year old singer and entertainer Peter Andersen from the southern part of Zealand. So far he hasn’t yet realized, what the victory will lead to – and what it can be used for. But he knows so much, that an album has to be ready before The Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki with semifinal on Thursday the 10th of May and final on Saturday the 12th of May. At that this album will contain not only the Song Contest-winner, but also a lot of other songs in the disco/pop style. - I have intentions of following the process all the way and contribute to songs as well as lyrics. When it comes to lyrics I find it important, that they have something, that I can relate to. And DQ have to start from scratch – with no old songs and lyrics hidden in his drawers. But so far he keeps cool. A couple of songwriters already have promised to write songs.And DQ himself knows what it takes to go further.For the last 10 years he has been a rather significant part of Danish show business. Originally, Peter Andersen is educated hair dresser from Copenhagen – but after having worked as a hairdresser for almost a year he chose to make singing and performing to more than just a hobby. - I have performed in various rockbands, and back in 1997 a girlfriend called me to ask if I wanted to perform in her trio, Naughty Voices: “It’s four to five easy songs for four to five easy voices. But you have to wear a dress – because it is a drag show”, she told me. “No way”, I said. At first, Peter Andersen found it hard to imagine himself performing in a dress. – but he got used to it. So quickly, actually, that he – after a short period with Naughty Voices – went on to perform as singer in another band, Tina Turner Jam (later called Turn on Tina) with nothing but well-known Tina Turner hits on the repertoire. - At first I had a picture of myself singing Tina Turner hits just like that, but the band went on teasing me so much that I chose to put on the wig, the dress, the stiletto heals and the make-up. But I don’t consider Turn on Tina to be a drag show – in Turn on Tina I’m playing the role as Tina Turner. Every month Peter Andersen is performing from six to eight times, partly in Turn on Tina and partly in his own dragshow. And in Denmark he is already famous for changing costumes up to 13 times during a one hour long show, this enabling him to copy well-known female singers like Tina Turner and Cher and Danish stars like Birthe Kjaer and Sanne Salomonsen. - One song in particular is very famous among the audience, because it is considered to be a Danish classic, a winner of the Danish Song Contest, “Vi maler byen roed” by Birthe Kjaer. The sight of me coming onto the stage in red dress is sometimes enough… - In Naughty Voices we performed in ugly and ”trashy” clothes. Today I can not have enough feathers and spangles and colorful costumes. I want to go all the way…!. Peter Andersen does nothing whatsoever to hide the fact that he really enjoys standing on a stage performing – and watching the reaction from the audience. And that he has quite a lot of expectations, when it comes to people’s reaction to “Drama Queen” and other songs performed live. - The song about “Drama Queen” is not about me being a woman or a queen creating drama, but describes my role on the stage. После победы я подумал: "Я сделал что-то что понравилось людям. Могу поспорить, я смогу и еще..." Жизнь еще не была такой для победителя Датского отбора 2007 DQ (Drama Queen) также известного как 34х летний певец и участник развлекательных шоу Питер Андерсен из южной части Зеландии. Он пока не понял, к чему привела эта победа - и как она может быть использована в дальнейшем. Но он знает одно, его альбом должен быть готов до конкурса песни Евровидение, полуфинал которого пройдет в Хельсинки 10 мая и финал 12го мая. В этот альбом войдет не только песня - победитель, но и множество других песен в стиле диско/поп. - Я хочу испытать на себе весь процесс и внести вклад в написание и музыки и текстов. Когда я пишу тексты песни, то мне кажется важным, чтобы они содержали что-то к чему я имею отношение. DQ пришлось начинать с самого начала - у него в ящике не было старых песен и текстов. Но он сохраняет оптимизм. Несколько авторов песен уже пообещали написать тексты. И DQ сам знает, что надо дальше. В течении последних 10 лет он постоянно вращается в датском шоу-бизнесе. Изначально, Питер Андерсен - профессиональный стилист по прическам из Копенгагена, но проработав по профессии в течении года она предпочел сделать пение и выступления больше чем хобби. - Я выступал в различных рок-группа, и в 1997 году моя подружка пригласила меня выступать в ее трио Naughty Voices "У нас есть четыре-пять песен для четырех-пяти исполнителей. Но тебе придется одеть платье - потому что это драг-шоу", она сказала мне. "Ни за что", ответил я. Сначала Питер Андерсен не мог даже представить себя выступающем в женской одежде. - но он привык. Быстро, после короткого периода с Naughty Voices - он стал солистов в другой группе Tina Turner Jam (позднее переименованной в Turn On Tina), которая исполняла ничто иное, как известные хиты Тины Тернер. - Прежде всего я представлял себя просто поющим хиты Тины, но группа продолжала меня подталкивать и в итоге я одел платье, обувь на каблуках и наложил косметику. В Дании он уже известен за смену костюмов 13 раз во время часового шоу, что позволило ему скопировать известных исполнительниц Тину Тернер и Шер и датских звезд Бирте Кьяер и Санне Саломонсен. - Одна песня очень известна среди аудитории, потому что она считается датской классикой, песня с которой Бирте Кьяер выступала на Евровидении "Vi maler byen roed". Но иногда достаточно увидеть меня выходящего на сцену в красном платье... - В Naughty Voices мы выступали в уродливых костюмах. Теперь мне недостаточно иметь перья, блестки и цветные костюмы. Я хочу большего! Питер Андерсен ничуть не скрывает того факта, что ему нравиться стоять на сцене - и следить за реакцией аудитории. И у него есть очень много оптимистичных ожиданий, когда речь идет о реакции людей на песню "Drama Queen" и другие песни, которые он исполняет вживую. - Песня о "Drama Queen" - не просто обо мне как женщине или о том, кто вечно драматизирует события, но описывает мою роль на сцене. Как королеву драмы. |

| DQ (Peter Andersen) will represent Denmark with "Drama
Queen". Difficult road for Peter through Second Chance selection has ended with
victory at the national final. From the first 10 entries of Eurovision 2007 Danish one is
the most highly rated by ESCKaz authors. Archive of the show is available here. Peter Andersen was member of Chi Hua Hua (Danish selection 2005) and performed backing vocals for Anne Murillo at Danish Final 2001. He is more known as the frontman of Tina Turner tribute band "Turn On Tina". |

semifinalists of 2007 national Danish preselections. Semifinals are scheduled for 26th of
January and 2nd of February, while Final will take place in Copenhagen Forum on 10th of
February. Show will be hosted by Camilla Ottesen and Adam Duva Hall. Aud Wilken (Eurovision 1995) and Jorgen Olsen (Eurovision 2000) return to competition. 2 songs in the running are written by famous Jascha Richter. |
