Evridiki was born in Lemesos, Cyprus, and grew up in the capital, Lefkosia. She was the first foreign student to study at the Studio des Varietes in Paris where her subjects were phonetics, guitar, theory, harmony, together with dance, body, facial expression and performance. Later she enrolled at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA where she completed her music studies in phonetics, basic keyboard, ear training, history of music, history of jazz, jazz harmony, and instrumentation. In 1991 she released Gia Proti Fora, which included songs by Alexis PAPADIMITRIOU, George THEOPHANOUS and Leonidas MALENIS. In 1992 she represented Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest with George THEOPHANOUS’ composition Teriazoume. In 1994 Evridiki represented Cyprus for a second time with the entry Eimai Anthropos Ki Ego composed by George THEOPHANOUS. Since 1991 Evridiki has released 13 solo albums in both Greece and Cyprus and gave hundreds of concerts. On the 10th of May, Evridiki will represent Cyprus for the third time at the Eurovision Song Contest. The well-respected star is "very excited to represent Cyprus and to perform at this year's contest in Helsinki."	Эвридики родилась в Лимасоле, Кипр и выросла в солице, Лефкосии. Last week capital of Belarus was visited by EVRIDIKI, Cypriot entrant in Eurovision song contest 2007. It is 6th time for Evridiki at Eurovision competition: she already took part in it 3 times as backing vocalist and 2 times as solo singer. Previous participations were not very successful: Evridiki herself explains it with lack of experience and fear of the contest. This time Cypriot singer is ready for revenge: she is confident in herself and her song and is looking for the high result. She spoke about it with Minsk journalist Katerina Kocharova, who presented this interview to "Eurovision-Belarus"	На прошлой неделе столицу Беларуси посетила певица EVRIDIKI, которая в этом году будет представлять Кипр на песенном конкурсе "Евровидение 2007". Стоит отметить, что на "Евровидение" Evridiki едет не в первый раз: она уже выступала на конкурсе 3 раза как бэк-вокалистка и 2 раза в качестве сольной певицы. Предыдущие выступления не принесли успеха певице: сама Evridiki объясняет это отсутствием опыта и страхом перед конкурсом. Теперь Evridiki хочет взять реванш: девушка уверена в себе, в своей песне и рассчитывает на высокие результаты. Об этом она рассказала минской журналистке Катерине Кочаровой, которая предоставила интервью с певицей "Евровидению-Беларусь".

On 22nd of March Evridiki has arrived to Belarus during her promo-tour, where she held press-conference, took part in the morning show "Good Morning, Belarus!" on First channel, gave interview to News Program of the First Channel, Belarus radio and commercial radiostations. At the press-conference which was visited by "Eurovision-Belarus" correspondents singer spoke about her plans for the upcoming competition: "My first aim is to qualify to the final of contest, and only then to get best possible place in the final. Eurovision Song Contest is first of all teleshow, thus performer should pay big attention to this fact, to prepare each element of the show - stage dress, choreography, light etc". Singer revealed that she was persuaded to enter competition by her 10 year old sun. Boy liked a lot Eurovision 2006 winners "Lordi" and "I promised to my son that he will be able to take signature of this Finnish artists", revealed Evridiki that presently is working under 13th album with simple name "13". Speaking about Belarus representative Koldun Evridiki mentioned that she has already met him during promo-tour in Greece. "He has very strong song, he is cute and has good vocal abilities. I think Belarus has good chances this year." Evridiki has became the first foreign participant of Eurovision 2007 to visit Belarus, it is expected that on 31st of March Minsk will be toured by Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov, representatives of Bulgaria.	22 марта певица Evridiki провела в Беларуси в рамках промо-тура, где провела пресс-конференцию, приняла участие в ежеденвной утренней информационно-развлекательной программе "Доброе утро, Беларусь!" (Первый телеканал), дала интервью Новостям Первого телеканала, Белорусскому радио и др. радиостанциям. На пресс-конференции, на которой присутствовали корреспонденты "Евровидение-Беларусь", певица рассказала о своих планах на конкурс: "Я хочу выйти в финал конкурса, а в финале занять наилучшее место". "Евровидение" — это телешоу, поэтому исполнитель должен обращать внимание на данное обстоятельство, готовить каждый элемент шоу — костюм, освещение и т.д." Певица рассказала, что к участию в конкурсе ее подтолкнул 10-летний сын. Мальчику очень понравились победители "Евровидения-2006" группа "Лорди". "Я обещала сыну, что он сможет взять автограф у финских артистов", - призналась Эвридики, которая в настоящее время готовит к выпуску свой 13-й альбом под простым названием "13". Говоря о представителе Беларуси Колдуне Эвридики отметила, что уже встречалась с ним в ходе промо-тура Колдуна в Греции. "У него очень сильная песня, он сам симпатичный и у него хороший голос. Думаю, у Беларуси неплохие шансы в этом году". Эвридики стала первой зарубежной участницей Евровидения 2007, побывавшей в Беларуси, 31го марта ожидается приезд Элицы Тодоровой и Стояна Янкулова, представителей Болгарии.

published 18.03 On 20th and 21st of March in Russian capital Moscow promo performances of Greek and Cypriot representatives at Eurovision 2007 will take place. It is expected that Greek entrant will perform on Wednesday at 11.45 local time at Greek stand in Expocenter at MITT exhibition (second pavilion, first hall). Cypriot entrant will also perform at the same exhibition on the same date, but the exact time is not known at the moment. Also both contestants will take part in morning shows at Russian TV, will give interviews to Russian press and will meet with Russian Eurovision fans, including members of OGAE Rest of the World and OGAE Russia. After that Evridiki will move to Belarus. Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation officially announced Evridiki as the Cypriot entrant for the 52nd Eurovision Song Contest which will take place in Helsinki, Finland on May 10 and 12 , 2007. CyBC holds a press conference on January 30 at 17:00 CET also aired live through regional and satellite television (webcast as well). The song will be presented to the public on February 23 in a special show. The composer of the song is Dimitris Korgialas. Специальная пресс-конференция по этому поводу состоится 30го января в 19.00 Москвы, она также будет показана по местному и спутниковому телевидению. Evridiki is tipped to become Cypriot representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2007, reports leading Cypriot website eurovisionclub.com. It is expected that song will be written by Dimitris Korgialas. The singer was rumoured as Cypriot representative for quite a long time now, though CyBC was refusing to confirm the information. It seems that main reason of that was the fact that Everidiki wanted to perform song in French, but CyBC wanted the entry to be performed in English. The announcement is yet to be officially confirmed by CyBC. Evridiki has represented Cyprus at Eurovision twice as solo artist (in 1992 and 1994) and three times as backing vocalist (1983, 1986, 1987) photo: evridiki.gr, korgialas.net	Evridiki считается основной претенденткой на то, чтобы представить Кипр на конкурсе песни Евровидение 2007, сообщает крупнейший киприотский фан-сайт Евровидения eurovisionclub.com.
