| Hayko has recently won "Best Male Singer of the
Year" at National Music Award, he was also present in Athens at Eurovision 2006 as
part of Armenian delegation. Hayko was trained in music at a Chukhajiyan music school, then at a Melikyan music college. He attended Yerevan State Conservatorium. In 1996 he won 1st prize at Moscow music festival, in 1997 1st prize in New York and in 1999 nominated for the best singer award for the first time. In 1999 he has released his first CD "Romances" with Armenian city music. In 2002 he has got 3 nominations at local awards: Best singer, best project, best album. In 2003 he releases first DVD and records another one Live. In 2003 he has released his CD Noritz, where he also acted as the songwriter. |

Евровидении в Афинах в делегации Армении. Айко закончил музыкальную школу и музыкальный колледж и продолжил обучение в Ереванской Государственной Консерватории. В 1996 году он стал обладателем первой премии на московском музыкальном фестивале, а в 1997 добивается такого же результата на фестивале в Нью-Йорке. В 1999 он впервые номинирован на звание Лучшего певца года и выпускает первый сольный альбом "Романсы" с городской музыкой. В 2002 году он получил уже три номинации - лучший певец, лучший проект и лучший альбом. В 2003 году он выпускает первый DVD и записывает еще один во время концерта. В 2003 году вышел его новый диск Noritz, в котором Айко выступил также как автор. |

 "Whole our team is
well prepared, and I'm personally is resolutly in a winning mood. I can not agree with the
statement that participation is more important than the victory", - told Armenian
singer Hayko on Tuesday at the press-conference in Yerevan. Hayko has mentioned that many experts consider that it is possible a ballad will win this year, different from Eurovision 2006, where rock band won. "This year many singers decided to enter with rock songs, but we don't think that we should follow some examples, even of last year winners. We want Armenia to look original, as last year", told singer. "Last year Russian singer Dima Bilan has performed song which is typical for his own style, though comission was labelling as non-format, but he achieved prestigeous 2nd place. This is the way I'm going to act", told Hayko. Goga, backing vocalist: "We're getting ready for all "surprises" that can await us on stage, counting even if microphone fails to work or ear monitors. We rehears comfort situation, but also work on our behaviour in uncomfort ones". Secrets of show on Finnish stage have not yet been revealed. It is only known that staging will be extreme. "The performance is indeed dangerous for life, but nobody will be killed and we will certainly win the contest". On 16th of April Hayko took part in Armenian Music Awards ceremony which was held in Moscow Kremlin Palace, during Armenian days in Russia. Also at the ceremony was present last year Armenian entrant Andre, who received from the hands of well-known poet Karen Kavaleryan diploma as "Singer of the year". Also Russian band "Serebro", representing Russia at Eurovision song contest 2007 was noticed at the ceremony, awarded by journalist Artur Gasparyan with "Advance" award. "В прошлом году представитель России - Дима Билан выступил без всяких расчетов с песней, соответствующей своему стилю, и занял престижное второе место. Вот так я тоже хотел бы поступить", - заметил Айко. Гога, певица (бэк-вокал): "Мы готовимся ко всем сюрпризам, которые могут быть на сцене, вплоть до того, что может выключиться микрофон или не заработать наушники. У нас есть комфортная ситуация, в которой мы все репетируем, и некомфортная". Секреты предстоящего яркого шоу на финской сцене пока не раскрываются. Удалось лишь узнать, что постановка будет экстремальной. we informed earlier Armenian entrant Hayko has paid a visit to Netherlands and Belgium.
Here is how Belgian site Belgovision.com has reported this event. Hayko was invited by the Armenian community of Brussels. Together with his manager and a producer of the Armenian broadcaster, Hayko arrived at the Armenian community house in Brussels, where they were welcomed by a local teacher of the Armenian language. The three of them introduced the Armenian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest, after Hayko signed his single and album for the fans. "The Eurovision Song Contest is very popular in Armenia," the Armenian community in Brussels assures us. "Hayko is 'our' singer. He represents 'our' country." At the end of his promotional visit to Brussels, Hayko made some time for a photo session with the fans and an interview with local belgian websites. Hayko thanked the Belgians for the 12 Points they gave Armenia at last year's Eurovision Song Contest and elaborated on his promotour which doesn't only include Belgium, but also the Netherlands, Germany, Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Greece, Cyprus. |

| Armenian representative Hayko continues his promotional tour:
April 11, 2007 Almelo/ Netherlands - Meeting with fans April 12, 2007 Brussels/ Belgium - Meeting with fans April 13, 2007 Frankfurt/ Germany - Private visit April 14, 2007 Hanau/ Germany - Concert On 16th of April special Eurovision show on Armenian TV will be recorded. Special guests will be Hayko and lyricist of Armenian entry Karen Kavaleryan, and other famous persons. The work on staging of the song has also been launched. As representatives of delegation inform - "it will be very interesting show with unusual lights and very intriguing gimmicks". Producer Artur Janibekyan has invited well-known Russian director Andrey Sychov for the staging of Armenian entry. Besides Sychev two professional Armenian dancers are working on it. |

| Hayko
will represent Armenia with song "Anytime you need", composed by Hayko himself,
while lyrics are penned by famous Russian lyricist Karen Kavaleryan, the author behind
Russian entries 2002 and 2006 and Belarus entry 2007. ESCKaz publishes interview with Hayko, whose entry has been highly rated by experts of our website. Song is not recorded, and rearrangement is being done at the moment. Recording sessions will take place on March 2-3, mastering will be done in Moscow on March 5-10. It is expected to keep last chorus of the song in Armenian. Video will be ready by March 12th and is directed by Armenain TV Hrach Keshishyan. Stage presentation will be directed by Russian choreographer. Hayko starts his promotional tour on March 3rd with visit to Georgia. |

Armenia has announced an open national selection, with semi-finals, consisting of 10 songs
each and a final, consisting of 6 winning songs from both semi-finals. Semis will take place on February 23 and 24 at 19:00pm, there will be 2 songs selected by jury and 1 song selected by SMS voting on 4545 short number. The Final Show will take place on February 25th at 19:00pm live, 6 songs from both semi finals will be competing in the final, the jury will decide which song will go to Helsinki 2007. The songs participating in the National Selection are mainly in English, except the songs of Erik "Let It Not Seem Less", Gevorg Martirosyan "New Ways", Sergey Grigoryan "I'm Yours", which are completely in Armenian. The songs of R.P. "Blue Bird" and Karine Asiryan "Your Heart Is Hot" are bilingual (English+Armenian). Hosts of the show are Andre – the first participant from Armenia to ESC 2006 in Athens; and Gohar Gasparyan- First Channel music programs’ host. Армения объявило открытый национальный отбор,
состоящий из двух полуфиналов, по 10 песен в
каждом, и финала, состоящего из 6 лучших песен. Полуфиналы пройдут 23 и 24 февраля в 19.00 местного времени, 2 лучшие песни будут выбраны жюри и 1 песня выбрана СМС голосованием на короткий номер 4545. Финал состоится 25го февраля в 19.00 местного времени, в нем примут участие 6 лучших песен, и жюри своим решением определит, кто представит Армению в Хельсинки. В основном участвующие песни будут исполняться на английском языке, помимо композиций Эрика, Геворга Мартиросяна и Сергея Григоряна - которые полностью на армянском. Композиции R.P. и Карин Асирян двуязычны (английский и армянский) Ведущими шоу станут Андре, первый представитель Армении на Евровидении, и Гохар Гаспарян, Первый канал Армении. 14th of December National Music Awards of Armenia ceremony was held, look at the
photogallery of the event here. According to the decision of jury Hayko was named "Best Male Singer of the Year", and "Best Female Singer" award was shared by Hasmik Karapetyan and Emmi. "Discovery of the Year" went to Silva Hakopian, who recently won BBC project "The Next Big Things". Organizers decided to award "Special prize" in memory of talented singer Varduhi Vardanyan, who was killed in road accident in November. Award was given to sister and son of the singer. "Best Pop-Music Band" prize was given to band "Hayer", while "Empyray", OGAE Rest of the World entrants in OGAE Song Contest 2006, were awarded "Best Rock Band". As Armenian TV informed ESCKaz - No decision on the scheme of national final is expected to be taken before mid-January. It is not known whether results of Armenian National Music Award will affect the preselection process. |

Музыкальных Премий Армении, фотогаллерея здесь. Решением жюри «Лучшим певцом года» провозглашен Айко, а премию «Лучшая певица года» разделили обе номинантки – Асмик Карапетян и Эмми. «Открытием года» объявлена юная певица Сильва Акопян, которая на днях одержала победу на конкурсе BBC под названием The Next Big Things. Решением оргкомитета в этом году учрежден «Специальный приз» в память трагически погибшей в ноябре текущего года молодой талантливой певицы Вардуи Варданян. Награда была вручена сестре и сыну певицы. «Лучшей поп-группой» признан женский квартет «Айер» (Армяне), а «Лучшей рок-группой» - EMPYRAY – представители ОГАЕ Остальной мир на ОГАЕ конкурсе 2006. Как проинформировало ESCKaz телевидение Армении - решение о схеме национального отбора не будет принято до середины января. Не известно, повлияют ли результаты Национальной Музыкальной премии на процесс отбора. |
| Armenian
TV has made an announcement that submission period for Eurovision song contest 2007 has
been launced this week, composers can submit their songs till the end of November. The
exact rules and regulations are still being worked on at the ArmTV and will be available
soon at the official site of the broadcaster. The regular rules of Eurovision Song Contest
on the song and performers apply. Armenian TV also mentions that there is no restrictions
for a foreign composers to enter the preselection. Total amount and quality of the songs will show whether a National Final will be conducted or not. Alternative option is a choice from Armenian National Music Awards where the best performer participates with a suggested song as it was in previous year. |

конца ноября. Более точные правила отбора будут
вскоре опубликованы на официальном сайте
телекомпании. К песням и исполнителям
предъявляются стандартные требования конкурса
песни Евровидения. Телевидение Армении также
отметило, что ограничений по гражданству авторов
песни не установлено. Общее количество и качество поданных заявок помогут определить - будет ли проведен открытый национальный отбор, в качестве альтернативы остается вариант приглашения лучшего исполнителя по версии Национальной Музыкальной премии, как это было сделано в прошлом году. |
