viewer report: Trinity United - dressed in some strange green clothes three girls without any vocal talents Renee & Dennis - very nice ballad, but not good performance Chastity - another song which is remembered only thanks to the dress of singer, her backing dancers and pathetic performance Meander - interesting folk ballad, though a lot of singers try to ride on folk wave this year performance was sincere. Femme Vocale - at this time vocals of performers very very good, but their song was not impressive at all Barbara Lok - professional performance, but impression of it was overrun by upcoming songs Yvette - nothing to remember in this average performance and song Johnny - unusual for the Dutch selection latino style song was quite outstanding Glennis - most impressive live performance and well deserved top spot Darre - nice ballad, nice performance Tiffany - pretty girl, but not her song Airforce - Johnny Logan's song was much better in his performance. Band just didn't cope with it. And our top 5: 1) Glennis 2) Darre 3) Johnny 4) Meander 5) Airforce |

Barbara Lok - профессиональное выступление, но впечатление от него было перекрыто следующими исполнителями Yvette - незапоминающееся проходное выступление и песня Johnny - не свойственная голландскому отбору латиновыступление несомненно выделялось Glennis - самое впечатляющее живое выступление вечера и заслуженное первое место Darre - красивая баллада, прекрасно исполненная Tiffany - привлекательная девушка, но отнюдь не ее песня Airforce - песня Джонни Логана куда лучше звучала в его исполнении. | Ever since Glennis was six
years old, singing has been her life – she just loves the stage. Coming from a musical
family and raised in a well-known musical area of Amsterdam, she entered many talent
contests and won most of them. When she was 12 she performed with Audrey Hepburn at a
Unicef gala and, at the age of 13, she was invited by the Spanish singer Julio Iglesias,
to join him in a duet, during his concert tour in Holland. When she was 15 she won a
prestigious talent show on national Dutch television and she made her first records. For
years to come she was considered one of the best singers in Holland. She appeared in an
endless stream of radio and TV shows and was often chosen to be a 'special guest' in big
arena shows of leading Dutch superstars like Frans Bauer and Rene Froger. A Dutch diva with international allure; but no record deal… Everybody expected her to really break through with her album 'Secrets Of My Soul' in late 2003. It contained songs from renowned American songwriters and producers like Diane Warren, Rodney Jerkins, Babyface, R. Kelly as well as numbers by Sweden’s Jorgen Elofsson and Brian Rawlings from the UK. But, in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and the UK, the album didn’t sell enough to break even and the Dutch record company EMI Records, in a period of decline, had to let her go. Glennis was without a recording contract and says there was “nothing much happening”. Times were hard and money was low (only her manager stayed by her side) and the Glennis Grace story almost came to an end. Then suddenly, she realised that her dream was not impossible… She was asked her to sing a song for the Dutch National Song Contest and felt that she had “nothing left to lose”. She decided to do it which brings us (and her) back to the beginning of this story. |

| - Hello, dear Glennis, and our
congratulations for you winning Dutch national final. How do you feel now, being selected
a Eurovision singer? - Thanks, well suddenly it feels like I'm a little famous here in Holland, but also in Greece and other countries where i get a lot of nice reactions from. The internet is full of ESF lovers! - How did you get the idea to participate in the Dutch preselection this year? - Well, I was asked at the final moment to join the songcompetiton, there was 1 song left they had no singer for! - Were you making attempts in previous years to submit entry to Dutch preselection or it is your first Eurovision attempt? - No, I never wanted to be in national songcontest; I don't like to sing in front of jurys (ha ha); you can lose from people without any talent, just because they do dress crazy or something. - Was it difficult to win this time? Were you expecting that your song will be chosen by voters and jurymembers? - This was the first I was in the songfestival, and I won! what a surprise.. Well, the reactions from the crowd were great and everybody said i was the favorite; but i only believed it when they called my name as the winner..i was very happy - How can you judge other songs at the national preselection? Did you like any of them? What were your closes rivals on your opinion? - My big rivals were a group called Airforce, they became second; and were good; they had a up-tempo song written by Johnny Logan. - Are you usually following the Eurovision contest? What do you think about previous Dutch representatives? Why do you think Dutch atempts last years were not very successful? - No I did not watch the eurovision songcontest a lot; Holland always had disappointing results the last years, so the interest is not so high anymore. Last year Holland did not have a very impressive song; and that's what you have to do, be impressive, i think to get points. My song is a ballad and the last years a uptempo song did win, so it's time for a change i hope (ha ha); - What will be your aim in the contest, are you looking for win? - Of course I hope to win, but it will be difficult; the televoting system is bad for the netherlands, we must be honest about that so i need some kind of miracle... - Have you already heard other participating songs and what is your opinion on them? - Yes I heard some songs from other countries, not all of them; but I like Greece and I like Malta; I will hear the rest on March 30th, than we will have a listening session at the organsiation. so then I can make some bets (ha ha). - What are your preparations plans? - Well, I always like to prepare good, but my song is like sing as good as I can in a nice dress and hope the audience likes it; I have no dancers or crazy things; it's a ballad with a lot of power; I need to focus on the singing. - Are you planning to record song is some other languages, may be Dutch? - The song is in english and will stay that way I guess; I don't sing Dutch. - Will you be adding some changes into the arrangement? - There will be no changes to the song; I'll change the dress and my hair and that's it. - Are you planning some promotional tour? We know about Greece, UK, elsewhere? - In the Netherlands they don't give any money for promotional tours; so I was happy to be invited by Greek TV. - Have you already been thinking about the idea of preview video, if there will be any? - Also no video; same answer; no money; Netherlands is not thinking high of its chances - So no backing singers/dancers in Kiev? - No, I will sing this song completely on my own; that's the meaning of the song I'll fight the big, wide world. I'll make it on my own....." - Let's speak on your career. Have you already participated in international singing competitions or only at local level? - No this will be my first and last competition; - You are performing in different styles, what are your favourite ones? - My favorite style is the style of Beyonce and Alicia Keys; My song is for the contest is more like Celine Dion though - Do you follow music industry of The Netherland? Do you think it is close to European level? - The music industry in Holland is very bad right now, everybody is downloading instead of buying; so that's not good - And our usual question usually asked by our visitors - can you name us any singers you know coming from ex-USSR, Russia, Ukraine? - No, I don't know much singers from Russia, except Ruslana and I met in Greece Angelika, but she speaks no english so she did not talk to me. - If you wish to leave any message to the visitors of our site you can do it now. - Well, to all visitors, I'd like to say Have a nice Eurovision and if you give points to your friends, consider me as your friend (ha\ ha). - Thank you very much for the interview and see you in Kiev! В интернете очень много фанатов Евровидения! - Как у вас появилась идея принять участие в голландском отборе этого года? - Честно говоря, меня вообще пригласили в самый последний момент, когда оставалась одна песня, к которой никак не могли найти исполнительницу! - В прошлые годы вы не пытались сами подать заявку на участие в национальном отборе? - Нет, я никогда и не собиралась в нем участвовать. Мне не нравится петь перед лицом жюри (смеется), так твою судьбу могут определить люди безо всякого таланта, известные только по своему сумашедшему стилю одежды или еще чему нибудь. - Тяжело было победить? Ожидали ли вы, что ваша песня будет выбрана и жюри и телезрителями? - Это было большим сюрпризом для меня! Первое участие и сразу победа. Реакция зрителей была восторженной с самого начала, мне все говорили, что я фаворит, но я поверила, только когда объявили окончательного победителя. Я была просто счастлива. - Как вы можете оценить другие песни с национального отбора? Кто был ваш самый сильный соперник? - Это была группа Эйрфорс, они заняли второе место, они очень неплохо спели песню Джонни Логана. - Вы вообще следите за конкурсом Евровидение? Что вы думаете о прошлых голландских участниках, почему они выступили не очень успешно? - Нет, особенно я не слежу за ним, Голландия совсем слабо выступала в прошлые годы, поэтому интерес сейчас здесь очень низок. В прошлом году у Голландии была незапоминающаяся песня, а для того, чтобы набирать баллы, нужно, чтобы твоя песня сразу впечатляла. Моя песня это баллада, а в прошлые годы обычно побеждали быстрые номера, поэтому я надеюсь, пришло время перемен (смеется). - А какая будет ваша цель на конкурсе, вы стремитесь к победе? - Конечно, мне хотелось бы победить, но это будет очень сложно. Система телеголосования не благоволит к Голландии и надо честно признать, что для победы мне необходимо, чтобы случилось чудо... - Вы уже слушали какие-либо из песен других конкурсантов? - Да, правда совсем немного, мне понравились Греция и Мальта, остальные мы будем специально прослушивать 30го марта. И после этого я уже смогу сделать кое-какие ставки (смеется) - А какие у вас планы подготовки? - Я всегда стараюсь хорошо готовится, но в этой песне единственное, что требуется, это петь так хорошо, как я могу, в красивом платье, и надеяться что зрителям это понравится. У меня не будет подтанцовки или другого шоу, это мощная баллада и здесь важнее всего сфокусироваться на исполении. - Вы планируете записать варианты песни на каких либо других языках, может быть на голландском? - Нет, я не думаю, я вообще не пою на голландском. - Будете ли вы что-то менять в аранжировке песни? - Нет, ничего менять не будем, только новое платье и прическа и все. - Планируете ли вы промо тур, вы ведь уже были в Греции? - К сожалению у нас в Нидерландах никаких денег на раскрутку не выделяется, и поэтому я очень рада, что меня пригласило греческое телевидение. - А что насчет видео клипа? - Его тоже не будет, и по той же причине - отсутствие средств, у нас не особо высоко расценивают шансы Голландии... - Итак ни бэк вокалов, ни подтанцовки? - Нет, я одна на сцене. Это смысл песни, я борюсь с большим миром, и я сделаю это одна... - Давайте немного поговорим о вашем творчестве. Это ваш первый конкурс или вы уже где-то принимали участие? - Нет, это мой первый и последний конкурс. - Вы выступаете в различных стилях, какие вам больше всего нравятся? - Мои любимые стили это Вейонс и Алисия Кейс, но моя конкурсная песня правда больше похожа на Селин Дион. - Вы следите за музыкальной индустрией в Голландии? Думаете она близка к Европейскому уровню? - Нет, индустрия в Голландии сейчас в большом кризисе. Все предпочитают скачивать песни с интернета и никто не покупает альбомы. Ничего хорошего. - И наконец, наш обычный вопрос - вы можете назвать кого-либо из исполнителей стран СНГ? - К сожалению нет, я знаю только Руслану, еще я видела в Греции Анжелику, но мы с ней не общались, потому что она не говорит по английски. - И если у вас есть какое-то послание посетителям нашего сайта? - Ну, я хочу сказать всем, надеюсь, что вам понравится Евровидение.
