родилась и выросла в Швеции. С раннего детства
она занималась танцами, пением и актерским
мастерством. Значительную роль в ее карьере и жизни сыграло создание группы Антик, где 17 летняя Елена объединилась со своим другом Нико. Группе удалось сразу же подписать контракт со студией Бонниер в Швеции. Дебютный сингл Опа Опа достиг первых мест чартов и стал золотым. Группа выпускает дебютный альбом и принимает участие в конкурсе Евровидения 2001 года, где занимает 3е место. Группа выпускает еще несколько платиновых альбомов, совершает Европейский тур, но в 2003 году Елена начинает начать соло карьеру подписав контракт с Сони Мьюзик. В декабре 2003 года Елена выпускает первый соло сингл Anapandeetes Klisis, который написал специально для нее Христос Дантис. Сингл достиг золотого статуса. Весной 2004 года Елена выпускает свой первый соло альбом Protereotita.  |
Helena Paparizou was born to Greek
parents, Volos and Karditsa, in Sweden where she grew up. Helena's artistic talents and
eagerness to excel became apparent from an early age, and she began her training in
singing, dancing and acting while she was still at school. A significant turning point in Helena's life was the creation of Antique, a group she set up with her childhood friend Niko at the age of 17. Almost immediately, Antique signed their first record contract with the then newly founded record label Bonnier in Sweden. Their debut single ‘Opa Opa’ became a huge hit. It reached number one in the singles charts and gained gold status. Following that success, Antique released their debut album, and later in 2001 came the first major step in their career – their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. They performed the beautiful song ‘I Would Die For You’ and made such a big impression, that after the voting, they had scooped third place! Antique's success in the Eurovision contest promised a bright future and led to a successful career which has included several platinum albums, a European tour, and collaborations with many highly successful artists from Greece and abroad. Despite Antique’s great success, the group’s journey came to an end in 2003. Making one of her most difficult decisions ever, Helena decided to pursue a solo musical career. This brought her into contact with the dynamic team of Sony Music with whom she signed her first contract as a solo artist. In December 2003, Helena Paparizou released her first solo single, ‘Anapandeetes Klisis’ (‘Missed Calls’), a song that was written especially for her by famous singer-songwriter, Christos Dantis. Naturally, ‘Anapandeetes Klisis’ became a major hit and remained at the top of airplay charts as well as the sales charts for a very long time, reaching gold status. During the winter of 2003-2004, Helena appeared alongside one of Greece's biggest male singing stars, Antonis Remos, at Studio Pireos night club. In spring 2004, Helena released her first solo album ‘Protereotita’ (‘Priorities’) from which ‘Antithesis’, ‘Anamnisis’, ‘Katse Kala’, ‘Stin Kardia Mou Mono Thlipsi’ became major hits. Her success brought her to Fever Music night club where she performed the winter season 2004-2005 alongside Sakis Rouvas and Giorgos Mazonakis. |

| - Hello, dear Helena!
Congratulations for being chosen Greek representative in Eurovision 2005, how do you
feel now, returning to the contest? - Thank you! I feel fantastic and am very excited about returning to the contest! The last time was such a great experience! - How did you get the suggestion from ERT to represent country in Eurovision 2005? If this was open preselection would you also participate in it? - ERT simply asked me if I would like to represent Greece this year and I accepted! I am not sure whether or not I would be included in a preselection process, but I don’t see why not! - Which of 3 songs you've performed at the National selection was your personal favourite? - I loved all three of them equally! Otherwise I don’t think I would be able to go through with the selection. ERT, my record label Sony Music, as well as myself wanted to make sure that we loved all three of them and would be equally proud if any of the three were selected. We definitely achieved our goal! - How can you describe My Number One in one sentence? - “You’re my lover, undercover!” - What will be your aim in the Eurovision contest, are you looking for win? - My aim at the Eurovision contest is to do the best possible I can, and even more! Of course I can not hide that I would love to be “Number One!” but it’s the challenge and experience that counts above all. - What as do you think can make your song stand different from the other competitors? How you are planning to make your song one to remember? - I definitely believe that my on stage appearance will play a very big role in differentiating my song from the others. If we didn’t have television then the contest would be clearly concentrated on the music. But the contest is an optic-audio experience and the combination of both is what stimulates the audience! I have a great team of people working on my stage appearance, including choreographers, dancers, musicians, my record label Sony Music and many more! I trust that we will all do the best possible for the best possible appearance! - Have you already heard other participating songs and what is your opinion on them? - Yes I have and I love them all! I find that each one is unique in its own beautiful way! - What are your preparations plans? Which countries are you touring with promotion? - Already I have visited Germany, Russia, and at the moment that I am answering these questions I am in Malta! (Thank God for the Internet!) Next stops are in Spain, Cyprus, Bulgaria and a few more Balkan countries, Sweden, Turkey, Kiev, and last but not least, England. - What is your impression with Russia and Russian contestant Natalia Podolskaya? - I was just recently in Russia and it was my first time there! I was very impreesed by how similar and close the Russian culture is to the Greek one, and other than our religion that is common and connects us I was amazed by how our language has the same roots and moreover I was amaized by how many Russians spoke Greek! Unfortunately, I had a very tight program and didnt have time to see as much as I wanted to, but I admired the architecture is Moscow and you can tell by its appearance and "aura" if you know what I mean, that its a city with great history and glory. Overall however, the love I received from the people left the greatest and sweetest impression on me, their love really touched me. Now for Natalia: First of all I think she is absolutely beautiful and she has a fantastic voice! I love the sensitivity of her song and the peaceful/anti-war message it reveals. I dedicate this song to everyone around the world, and believe it is a dynamic song that should be heard everywhere, and not only for the Eurovision. I would also like to wish Natalia the best of luck! Good luck Natalia! - Will you be adding some changes into the arrangement before the contest? - Unless something comes up, I doubt it. We want to make sure that the final set up is perfect! - May be you can already reveal some information about how your stage presentation in Kiev will look like or you will be keeping everything secret till the last moment? - Exactly! I want it to be a surprise! - You have prepared very nice preview video, can you tell us more about it's idea and how the filming was made? - For this video, we decided that we wanted to show the modern side of Greece since the first thing that comes to most people’s minds when they think of Greece are ancient ruins! Of course we are very proud of our history, but we are also very proud of our present. The video was shot in two days in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece at the Museum of Science and Technology. - Are you planning any new releases this year? - I just recently released my debut album in a selector repackaged version, which also includes “My Number One” and the other two songs that were included in the preselection . The repackaged album also includes a few of my songs in English, and “My Number One” in a karaoke version. - Can you name us your favourite world singers your are mostly inspired with? - From a very young age I always loved and was inspired by great music, and not necessarily the artists. But I have many favorites! So to mention a few from my long list: Celine Dion, Mariah Carey (her early career), Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson, Mary J Blidge, Lauren Hill, Prince... I was even a juge fan of New Kids on The Block (who wasnt?) and Metalica and the Prodigy! - And our usual question usually asked by our visitors - can you name us any singers you know coming from ex-USSR, Russia, Ukraine? - Unfortunately I don’t know of many, or at least not many come to mind right now. Я не уверена, участвовала ли бы я в открытом отборе, но я не вижу причин - почему бы и нет? - Какая из трех песен, исполненных вами на конкурсе была вашим личным фаворитом? - Мне нравились все три одинаково. Я не думаю, что я смогла бы пройти через такой отбор, если бы это было иначе. ЕРТ, моя звукозаписывающая компания Сони Мьюзик и я сама хотели удостовериться в том, что нам нравятся все три конкурсные песни и мы будем гордиться если любая из трех будет выбрана. И мы несомненно достигли нашей цели! - Как вы можете описать песню Мой номер один одним предложением? - Строчкой из нее - “You’re my lover, undercover!” - Какую цель вы ставите перед собой на Евровидении в этом году, будете ли вы стремиться к победе? - Моя цель на Евровидении - это сделать все, на что я способна и даже большее. Конечно, я не скрываю, что мне бы хотелось стать "Номером один", но интереснее само соревнование и опыт, который я получу с его помощью. - Что, как вы думаете, может выделить вашу песню среди других участников. Что вы планируете сделать, чтобы телезрители запомнили именно ее? - Я верю в то, что мое сценическое выступление будет играть большую роль в том, чтобы моя песня выделилась на общем фоне. Если бы это не был телевизионный конкурс - то люди бы прежде всего фокусировались на музыкальном аспекте, но сейчас только комбинация визуальных и аудио эффектов может заставить аудиторию проголосовать за песню. Над моим сценическим выступлением работает большая профессиональная команда - хореографы, танцоры, музыканты, мой лейбл Сони Мьюзик и многие другие. Я верю в то, что мы вместе сможем добиться лучшего возможного эффекта! - Вы уже слышали какие-то из других конкурсных песен и что вы думаете о них? - Да, я уже их слушала и они все мне понравились! Я думаю, что каждая из них уникальна и красива по своему! - Каковы ваши планы подготовки? Какие страны вы посещаете с промо туром? - Я уже была в Германии, России, и сейчас я отвечаю на ваши вопросы находясь на Мальте! (Как хорошо, что есть интернет!). Далее я буду выступать в Испании, Кипре, Болгарии, нескольких балканских странах, Швеции, Турции, Киеве и наконец в Англии. - Какое у вас осталось впечатление о России и российской конкурсантке Наталье Подольской? - - Я недавно вернулась из России, это первый раз когда я была в этой стране! Меня очень потрясло, насколько русская культура близка к греческой, и помимо того, что у нас одинаковая религия, меня еще очень удивило, то, насколько похожи наши языки, и оказывается много русских хорошо говорит по гречески! К сожалению, программа моя была очень напряженной и я не успела посмотреть многое, что бы мне хотелось, но мне очень понравилась архитектура Москвы, и по ее виду, и особой ауре, я думаю, вы понимаете о чем я говорю, можно сразу сказать что это величественный город с особой историей. Больше всего, однако, меня поразило то, с какой любовью меня встречали здесь, и та любовь, которую передавали мне москвичи была очень большим и приятным впечатлением для меня. Я была по настоящему тронута. И о Наталье: Прежде всего, я думаю, что она очень красивая и у нее потрясающий голос. Мне очень нравится чувственность ее песни и ее мирный/анти-военный смысл. Я бы посвятила эту песню всему миру и я думаю, что эту песню, должны услышать все и везде, не только на конкурсе Евровидение. И мне хотелось бы пожелать Наталье всего самого лучшего! Удачи, Наташ! - Вы будете что-то менять в аранжировке вашей конкурсной песни? - Если не придет каких-то особых идей, то я не думаю. Мы хотим, чтобы итоговый результат был самым наилучшим! - Можете ли вы уже рассказать что-нибудь о том, как будет выглядеть ваше выступление в Киеве или вы будете держать все в секрете до последнего момента? - Именно! Я хочу, чтобы это для всех был сюрприз! - Вы подготовили очень неплохое превью видео, можете вы вкратце рассказать о его идее и о том, как проходили сьемки? - Мы решили показать в этом видео современную Грецию, потому что когда люди думают о Греции, то им обычно приходят на ум древние руины! Конечно, мы очень гордимся своим прошлым, но у нас есть чем гордиться и в настоящем. Видео мы сняли за два для в Салониках, на севере Греции в Музее Науки и Технологии. - Вы планируете в этом году какие-то новые релизы? - Только что вышел повторный релиз моего дебютного солоальбома с треком "My Number One" и еще двумя песнями с национального отбора. Переиздание также включает несколько англоязычных версий моих песен и караоке версию конкурсной песни. - Можете ли вы назвать нам несколько ваших самых любимых исполнителей? - С раннего возраста я всегда любила хорошую музыку, вне зависимости от того, кто ее исполняет. Но у меня есть много любимых певцов! Из длинного списка я могу назвать Селин Дион, раннюю карьеру Мэрайи Кери, Майкла Джексона, Арету Франклин, Полу Абдул, Джанет Джексон, Мэри Джей Блайдж, Лорен Хилл, Принца... Я даже была большой фанаткой Нью Кидс он зе Блок (а кто не был?), Металлики и Продиджи! - И наш обычный вопрос - кого из исполнителей стран СНГ вы могли бы назвать? - К сожалению, я не знаю многих, ну или по крайней мере не могу так быстро вспомнить.
