| Andorra announces National Final system in 2005. Casting will be held and 36 best performers in it will get chance to be voted on by the public. On 24th of November 16 singers who qualified for 2nd round will be announced. | 3 finalists of Andorran preselection were named: Ishtar Ruiz, Mar Capdevila (formerly known together as Bis O Bis) and Marian van der Wal. | 34 year Marian van de Wal will
represent Andorra at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. She was born in Vianen, a town near
to Utrecht in The Netherlands. She has lived in Andorra for over six years, she runs a
hotel with her husband there. As well as Dutch, she speaks Catalan, English, Spanish and German. Her experience as a singer includes performances at country festivals in the Netherlands and several venues in Andorra, such as The Blue Angel Club, the local festivals of Aixirivall, Pal, Ordino and Ansalonga, and at various hotels in the Principality. The winner was selected by five jury members and SMS votes by the public. The public voted for Mar Capdevilla (giving to her 2 points), and jury votes (of one point each) were split - 3 of them chose Marian, one - Mar and one - Ishtar. The rules stated that the youngest member of the jury should have the decisive vote, and that's how Marian became the winner. |

| - Hello, dear Marian and our
congratulations for you for winning Andorran national final. How do you feel now, being
selected a Eurovision singer? - I am still very surprised and surely very happy that I've got this chanсe. I am going to do my very best - that's for sure. - How did you get the idea to participate in the Andorra preselection this year? Were you invited or approached National broadcaster yourself? - No, there was a selection and everyone could compete, as long as you lived for more then 5 years in Andorra. They didn't know me. I heard of the contest and wanted to know how far I would come. - Was it your first attempt to submit entry to National preselection in any country? - Yes, last year I didn't have the nerves. That wasn't because of the singing but because of the language. I didn't want to make a fool of myself. This year I tried because of my sister who thought I could do it. - Was it difficult to win this time? Were you expecting that your song will be chosen by voters and jurymembers? - First there was the contest of the singers and after we had the contest of the three songs. So that was easier. I never expected to win. The only thing I tried to make clear from the beginning to the jury, the public and all the people I worked with during this time, is that I am myself I am not trying to be something I'm not and I just do the best I can and I am willing to work for it. Maybe if I knew that I realy made a chance to win I would have been more nervous. That doesn't mean that I wasn't but more controled I think. - Which song from yours you really prefer - winning one or maybe some of the other ones you performed during NF? Were this songs written specially for the National selection? - Yes , I believe they where written specialy for ESC. I am happy that this song won. It's not the easyest of the three but has a lot of different things in it. Also it's nice to know that the writer is realy a ESC fan. - How can you characterize your song Mirada Interior in one sentence? - Look inside yourself to find your happiness before you turn the world inside out. - And how do you describe it's style? - It has a little an Ethnic sound with a sensual touch. - Is it difficult for you to sing in Catalan? - It's getting easyer everytime but like in Dutch it's not the easyest language to sing in. - Can you tell us what changes are you planning to bring to the stage presentation for ESC? - Well we are still working on it. But there are coming some dancers and backsingers. I can't tell you yet exactly how because I don't know yet but it's also nice to keep this a little to our selfs. - What will be your aim in the contest, are you looking for a win? -WE ARE GOING TO WIN !!!! Hahaha This is a joke. I am hoping really hoping that we are going trough to the finals. If this happens I will be verry happy. But there are so many countries and this is going to be difficult. - What as do you think can make your song stand different from the other competitors? How you are planning to make your song one to remember? - This all depends what the other countries have because everybody is going to try to be different but there are always a few that are similar. I hope that when our song is finished the sound will be special and strong. - Have you already heard other participating songs and what is your opinion on them? - Yes, we where in Greece. There where a few other countries who has also prefomed. Of the differents songs I've heard I liked the song of Greece, and Malta. I think they have a good chance to win. - What are your preparations plans? You have already performed at Greek national final, any other promotional tours scheduled? - As far as I know we have a promotion planned in April. Which country we go to I don't know exacty but I thought it would be Malta/Cyprus/Spain/Holland. - Are you planning to record song is some other languages, may be Dutch, English? Or may be some remixes? Is there date set for release of your single? - I don't have a date, we are recording an English version. - You have already added some changes into the arrangement, are more planned? Can you describe them? - I leave this up to the professionals. They will add more instruments to the song. - Are you already working on a preview video? What it will be about? - We are working this week on the videoclip. We are recording this mostly outside with all the great backgrounds that we have here in Andorra. We have a lot off these here. We are trying to express the lyrics off the song in this clip. All goes well we have still two more day to work. It's very nice to work with a small group of hard working people trying to make sometihing nice. - Let's speak a bit on your career. Do you think you are already popular? Are people recognizing you? - Here in Andorra everytime more. The people are reacting very well and accepted me well. Popular is a big word and I am not someone who think of myself as popular. I do hope that they like me and are happy that I've won. - Have you already issued any releases? - No, I want to work now for the ESC, this is my goal, this is what I want to do well. What happens after happens. If someone comes along with songs that fit me that would be great. But I am lucky because my life before all this was great and when everything stops after this I just continue to do what I always did. - You tried to perform in different styles, what are your favourite ones? - I like a bit off all. If it are songs with power and a lot of personality that is what I like to do most. Anastacia is a great example of this. - Can you name us your favourite world singers? - Sorry I already did with the other question. I don't know if you know Chenoa from Spain I like here also. - Can you tell us about music industry of Andorra? Are there many different singers on musical scene? - It's a small country so we have less singers of course but the first round of the NSF we had 36 competiters. - And our usual question usually asked by our visitors - can you name us any singers you know coming from ex-USSR, Russia, Ukraine? - Sorry no. The only one I know and of course everyone knows is Ruslana. But if you have good singers I would love it when you send me some so I can listen. - If you wish to leave any message to the visitors of our site you can do it now. - Yes,thanks. Были ли вы приглашены или сами решили попробовать? - У нас был открытый отбор, и в нем мог принимать участие любой, проживающий в Андорре больше 5 лет. Организаторы меня вообще не знали. Я слышала о конкурсе и хотела попробовать, как далеко я смогу пройти. - Это была первая ваша попытка участвовать в национальном отборе? - Да, в прошлом году я не решилась. Не из-за того, что я плохо пою, а потому что я не очень хорошо говорю на местном языке. И я не хотела, чтобы надо мной посмеивались. В этом году моя сестра убедила меня, что я должна попробовать. - Было трудно победить? Вы ожидали, что ваша песня будет выбрана телезрителями и жюри? - Сначала у нас был конкурс исполнителей и после этого был уже выбор песни. Поэтому это было легче для меня. Вообще-то я никогда не ожидала победы. Единственное, что я хотела, чтобы все - телезрители, жюри, те с кем я работала, поняли с самого начала - я это я, и я не пытаюсь быть кем-то кем я не являюсь на самом деле, я лишь пытаюсь сделать все, что в моих силах, и готова работать ради этого. Может быть если бы я знала, что у меня есть шансы победить я бы больше нервничала. Это не означает, что я вообще не нервничала, но я держала себя в руках. - Какая песня вам больше нравится, та которая победила, или может быть какая-то другая из тех, которые вы исполняли на национальном отборе? Были ли они написаны специально для этого отбора? - Да, мне кажется они были написаны специально для Евровидения. Я рада, что победила именно эта песня. Она не самая легкая из трех, но она очень отличается от них. Также интересно то, что ее автор - настоящий фанат конкурса Евровидение. - Как вы можете охарактеризовать вашу песню в одном предложении? - Ищите счастье внутри себя прежде чем вывернуть мир наизнанку. - А как вы можете описать ее стиль? - Она имеет немного этническое звучание и очень трогательная. - Для вас трудно петь на Каталанском? - Уже становится легче, но как и Голландский - это не самый легкий язык для исполнения. - Можете ли вы уже рассказать какие изменения в сценической интерпретации песни вы готовите? - Мы все еще работаем над этим. Но в ней примут участие несколько танцоров и бэк-вокалистов. Я точно еще не могу сказать, потому что еще сама этого точно не знаю, и мы бы не хотели пока раскрывать наши карты. - Какова ваша цель в конкурсе, вы планируете бороться за победу? - МЫ ПОБЕДИМ!!! Хахаха Шутка. На самом деле я очень надеюсь, что нам удастся пробиться в финал. Но если это произойдет, то я буду очень рада. Но в полуфинале так много стран и это будет трудной задачей. - Что как вы думаете может выделить вашу песню на фоне остальных участников? Что вы планируете сделать, чтобы ваша песня запомнилась? - Это зависит от того, что представят другие страны. Сейчас все хотят выделиться, но в итоге всегда получается, что есть несколько похожих песен. Я надеюсь, что когда наша песня будет закончена ее звучание будет особым и очень сильным. - Вы уже слышали какие либо из песен других участников и что вы о них думаете? - Да, мы были в Греции и там на национальном отборе были участники из других стран. Из всех исполненных песен мне понравились греческая и мальтийская, я думаю, что у них неплохие шансы на победу. - Каковы ваши планы по подготовке. Помимо греческого отбора планируются еще выступления в других странах? - Насколько я знаю, планируется промо тур в апреле. Точно еще не знаю в какие страны, но думаю, что в Мальту, Кипр, Испанию и Голландию. - Вы планируете записать конкурсную песню на других языках? Определена ли уже дата выхода вашего сингла? - Нет, даты еще нет, мы также будем записывать английскую версию. - Вы уже изменили немного арранжировку, еще изменения планируются? - Этим должны заниматься профессионалы, я особо в это не вмешиваюсь. Они добавляют больше звучания различных инструментов в песню. - Вы уже работаете над превью видео? О чем оно будет? - Мы как раз сейчас над ним работаем. Мы записываем его на фоне разных красивых пейзажей, которых много в Андорре. Мы попытаемся через клип выразить смысловую нагрузку песни. Если все будет идти по плану, то у нас еще два дня работы. Очень приятно работать с небольшой группой трудолюбивых людей, которые творят что-то прекрасное. We are working this week on the videoclip. Популярность - это слишком сильное слово, и я не думаю о себе как о звезде. Я надеюсь, что то что я делаю понравится и что они будут довольны моим выступлением. - Вы уже выпускали какие-либо диски? - Нет, сейчас я прежде всего работаю над подготовкой к Евровидению, это первоочередная задача и я надеюсь, что мне удастся ее реализовать на должном уровне. А дальше что будет - то будет. Если кто-то предложит мне подходящий материал - будет очень хорошо. Но я считаю себя достаточно счастливой, я удовлетворена своей жизнью и вне конкурса, поэтому даже если после участия все остановится, я лишь вернусь к тому, чем я всегда занималась. - Вы пытались петь в различных стилях. Какой из них ваш любимый? - Я люблю каждого понемногу. Больше всего мне нравится, когда песни мощные и могут раскрыть мои таланты. - Вы можете назвать несколько ваших любимых певцов? - Например, Анастэйша. Она тоже поет в разных стилях и мне очень нравятся ее песни. Я не знаю, знаете ли вы Ченоа из Испании, мне очень нравится ее творчество. - Можете ли вы рассказать о музыке в Андорре? Там много исполнителей на музыкальной сцене? - Конечно, в такой маленькой стране их не так много, но в первом раунде отбора участвовало 36 человек. - И наш обычный вопрос - можете ли вы назвать кого-нибудь из исполнителей стран СНГ? - К сожалению нет. Единственная кого я знаю, и конечно все знают - это Руслана. Но если вы хотите познакомить меня с кем либо из хороших исполнителей из этих стран я буду рада. - И наконец - ваше послание посетителям сайта. - Я надеюсь, что все вы будете смотреть конкурс Евровидение и будете голосовать, потому что это важно для всех участников.
