Ştefănel Roşcovan (born 26th of March 1999) is now studying in 6th grade of Romanian-English "Mircea Eliade" High School in Chisinau as well as 6th grade of Valeriu Poleacov music school on general music education and piano departments, piano class, also takes hours of guitar and vocal lessons.

He has been performing since the age of three: "My father has been performing song "Poezie" at my birthday and I liked it a lot and I wanted to sing myself. I was given such a chance, and while I was singing my father has realized that I have vocal potential. So, at that time my parents have made a demo record of my singing", says Stefan. His father was well-known composer, singer and arranger Anatol Roscovan who has passed away two years ago. His mother is also singer, Angela Cabari. He has a younger sister Giulia.

Since then Stefan has won numerous national and international contests. In the age of 4 he took part in festival "Stars" in Odessa, Ukraine, followed by "Rainbow Stars" in Jurmala, Latvia and "Ceata lui Pitigai" in Romania. In 2006 he became laureate of "Kaunas Talent" in Lithuania, and leading Romanian festival "Mamaia copiilor", won Grand Prix at "The Little Stars" in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. In 2007 he was First Prize winner at "Trnovgrad Crown" in Bulgaria, 2nd prize winner at "Star of Eilat" in Chisinau, 3rd prize winner in "Earth under the white wings" in Mozyr, Belarus. Was winner of first prize in local festival "ARS Adolescentina" in 2006-2007, 1st prize winner at "Muzychna parasolka" in Ukraine, "Floare de april" in Romania, 2nd prize at local "

".

In 2008, at the age of 9, Stefan has won the Second Prize at the children' music Contest "Vitebsk-2008". He performed there "Eminescu" and "Deschideti portile". Winner of the festival was Luara Hayrapetyan (Armenia 2009) and runner-up Alina Molosh (Belarus 2008). He also got Gold medal at "Delfic Games 2008" in Saratov, Russia.

In 2009 he took a short break from performances due to vocal timbre changes, but still returned victorious from contest "Camena" in Piatra Neamt, where he received also special prize from Mihai Traistariu for the performance of "Show must go on".

In 2010 he had been awarded four trophies in Romania, Grand-Prix at "Ghiocelul de argint", bronze in "Music For Kids" in Iasi performing "Tu esti primavara mea", "Say something" and "Gotto be there", 1st prize at "Mamaia Copiilor" in July in duet with Madalina Lefter (Romania 2008) with song "Solaris" and Grand-Prix at "Cerbul de Aur Junior" in August with the same song.

Besides native Romanian, Stefan also speaks Russian and learns French and English. He likes watching cartoons, his favourite one if "Lion King" and all cartoons of Walt Disney studio. He also likes Harry Potter series. He is also a keen reader, his favourite books are "Fram Ursul Polar" and Moldovan Folk Tales. The boy also loves playing football, but, unfortunately, has no time for training, also likes cycling and spending time at computer. He loves to listen to classical music and his favourite local performers are: Nelly Ciobanu, Adrian Ursu, Natalia Barbu, Geta Burlacu.

Despite having adult responsibilities, as every child looks forward to the holidays and visits to grandparents. Among the culinary preferences are traditional food: chicken soup, polenta, but he also likes fish and fruits, especially pomegranates.

Participation in Eurovision has been his most desired dream, which he has been highlighting in every interview since 2008. Stefan says that in his vocabulary are no such a phrases as "I do not want" or "I can not".

Stefanel's repertoire is already very impressive for his age, he performs over 35 songs from the repertoire of Romanian and international singers, as well as songs written specially for him. He has released CD "Deschideti portile" and produced a stage program for his concert "Din cоntec m-am nascut". You can watch videos from his 10-years anniversary concert here

His Eurovision entry is song "AlliBaba". During national preselection one chorus has been performed in English and despite JESC regulations it is expected that same version will be performed at the international final as well. Song has been co-written by composer Nicolae Caragia and lyricist Daniela Doroftei (co-writers of Romanian entry 2008).

Born in Nisporeni (Moldavia), on September 9, 1960, Nicolae Caragia is a graduate of “Stefan Neaga” Musical College (bass guitar as the main instrument) and the National Institute of Belle Arts (musical teaching) in Chisinau (Moldova). He plays the piano, accordion, trombone and contrabass. From 1979 to 1994, he was a bass guitar player of the “Orizont” band (Moscow). While in the band, he composed a great part of its repertoire, and went on tours to all over Europe, Asia and Africa, collaborating with such famous singers as Mireille Mathieu, Alla Pugacheva, Karell Gott. From 1994 to 1999, he was a music director of the “Millenium” band (Chisinau). Currently, Nicolae Caragia is a member of the Romanian Union of Composers and Musicians. As a composer and songwriter, he has more than once taken part in the international contests, including I Prizes at festivals "Mamaia", "Golden Star", "Ti Amo" (Romania), festivals in France, Egypt, USA etc. The director of “New Star Music” agency Nicolae Caragia has participated in many Radio & TV shows, various musical publications and live shows.

After the final Stefan has been guest of Desteptarea program on Jurnal TV.

Петь Штефан начал в три года: "Моё увлечение пением началось в мой день рождения. Тогда мой папа исполнял песню "Poezie", мне очень понравилось, я тоже захотел спеть. Мне дали такую возможность, а когда я пел, папа понял, что у меня есть слух и голос. Так, уже в то время мои родители сделали демо-запись моего пения", рассказывает Штефан. Его отец - известный композитор, певец и аранжировщик Анатоль Рошкован, скончавшийся два года назад. Его мать - также певица, Анжела Кабарь. У него есть младшая сестра.

С той поры Штефан завоевал множество премий на национальных и международных конкурсах. В возрасте 4х лет он принял участие в фестивале "Звезды" в Одессе, Украина, за которыми последовали выступления на "Звездах радуги" в Юрмале, Латвия и "Ceata lui Pitigai" в Румынии. В 2006 году он стал лауреатом I премии Международного конкурса юных талантов "Каунас" (Литва), принял участие в крупнейшем румынском фестивале "Mamaia copiilor", завоевал Гран-при на "Маленьких звездочках" в Санкт-Петербурге, Россия. В 2007 году он стал обладателем I премии на   конкурсе "Корона Тырновграда" (г. Велико-Тырново, Болгария), 2й премии на "Звезды Элата" в Кишиневе, 3й премии на "Земля под белыми крыльями" в Мозыре, Беларусь. Был обладателем 1го приза на местном фестивале "ARS Adolescentina" дважды – в 2006 и в 2007 годах. Обладатель I премии на "Музична парасолька" в Украине, "Floare de april" в Румынии, II премии на Кишиневских "Hai să dăm mînă cu mînă", "Steaua Chişinăului".

В 2008 году в возрасте 9 лет Штефан завоевал II премию на детском музыкальном конкурсе "Витебск-2008", где исполнил песни "Eminescu" и "Deschideti portile". Победительницей фестиваля была Луара Айрапетян (Армения 2009), а второе место заняла Алина Молош (Беларусь 2008). Он также завоевал золотую медаль на "Дельфийских играх" 2008 в Саратове.

В 2009 году он взял короткий перерыв от выступлений, по причине обычной для мальчиков ломки голоса, но с успехом принял участие в конкурсе "Camena" в Пятра Нямц, где получил специальный приз от Михая Трайстариу за исполнение песни "Show Must Go On".

В 2010 стал обладателем четырех премий на фестивалях в Румынии - Гран-При на "Ghiocelul de argint", бронзы на "Music For Kids" в Iasi с композициями "Tu esti primavara mea", "Say something" и "Gotto be there", I премии на "Mamaia Copiilor" в июле, где в июле в дуэте с Мадалиной Лефтер (Румыния 2008) исполнил песню "Solaris" и Гран-При "Cerbul de Aur Junior" в августе с той же песней.

Помимо родного румынского Штефан хорошо владеет русским и учит французский и английский языки. Ещё он любит смотреть мультфильмы, любимым из которых является "Король Лев" и все мультфильмы студии Уолта Диснея. Также ему нравится серия про Гарри Поттера. С удовольствием читает - его любимые книги - "Fram Ursul Polar", и молдавские народные сказки. Мальчику также очень нравится играть в футбол, но, к сожалению не хватает времени для тренировок, также он любит кататься на велосипеде и играть на компьютере. Он любит слушать классическую музыку, а среди местных исполнителей его любимцы: Нелли Чобану, Адриан Урсу, Наталья Барбу и Жета Бурлаку.

Несмотря на то, что у него уже взрослые обязанности, как и каждый ребенок он с нетерпением ждет каникул и поездок к бабушке с дедушкой. Среди его кулинарных предпочтений: куриный суп, мамалыга, но также нравятся рыба и фрукты.

Участие в Евровидении было большой мечтой Штефана, о которой он говорил в кажом интервью с 2008 года. Штефан говорит, что в его словаре нет таких фраз как "Я не хочу" или "не могу".

Репертуар Штефана уже выглядит очень внушающе для его возраста - он исполняет более 35 песен румынских и зарубежных певцов, а также композиции, написанные специально для него. Песня Штефана для Евровидения называется "Али-Баба". На национальном отборе один из ее припевов был исполнен на английском языке, и несмотря на противоречия с правилами конкурса, ожидается, что эта же версия будет исполнена и на международном финале. Песня была написана в соавторстве с композитором Николае Каражиа (директором агентства New Star Music) и автором текста Даниелой Дорофтеи (они был соавтором песни Румынии 2008).

Николае Каражиа родился 9 сентября 1960 г. в г. Ниспорены (Молдавия). Окончил музыкальный колледж им. Штефана Няги по специальности бас-гитара и педагогический факультет Национального института искусств (г. Кишинев, Молдова). Играет на фортепиано, контрабасе, аккордеоне, тромбоне. С 1979 по 1994 г. работал бас-гитаристом в ВИА «Оризонт» (г. Москва). В составе этого коллектива гастролировал в странах Европы, Азии и Африки, сотрудничал со многими певцами и музыкантами, в числе которых – Мирей Матье, Алла Пугачева, Карел Готт. С 1994-го по 1999 г. работал музыкальным руководителем группы «Миллениум» (г. Кишинев). В настоящее время – член Союза композиторов и музыкантов Румынии. Неоднократно принимал участие в международных конкурсах как композитор. Его песни удостоены I премий на фестивалях "Мамайя", "Золотая звезда", "Я люблю" в Румынии, фестивалях во Франции, Египте, США и др. Участник многих теле- и радиошоу, а также музыкальных программ. Директор агентства «Нью Стар Мьюзик».

Mihaela Tatarciuk (2010), Stefan Roscovan (2008) and Valeria Pasa (2006) took part in festival Junior Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk (Belarus).

Entries 02, 08 and 10 are billingual Romanian-English. According to JESC rules the entries should be performed in the national languages of the country, however practice shows that minor use of other languages can be allowed by EBU as well. EBU rules prescribe that that the song and the main child artist at the Contest should be exactly the same as they were when they won the National Selection.

As earlier reported by ESCKAZ, preliminary phase of the preselection took place on August 25th, when professional jury of 5 persons have listened to 18 submitted entries and have chosen 12 of them to proceed to the televized round.

The performances for the final will be prerecorded on 19-20th of September and aired on 25th of September when live televoting and professional jury vote in 50/50 combination will determine the winner.

Михаела Татарчук (2010), Штефан Рошкован (2008) и Валерия Паша (2006) принимали участие в детском фестивале Славянский Базар в Витебске.

Песни 02, 08 и 10 исполняются на румынском и английском языках. Согласно правилам Детского Евровидения конкурсные песни должны исполняться на национальных языках участвующих стран, однако, практика показывает, что небольшое использование других языков также может быть дозволено правилами ЕВС. Правила ЕВС также предписывают, что песня и ее основной исполнитель должны быть неизменными с их победы на национальном отборе.

Как ранее сообщал ESCKAZ, предварительный этап отбора прошел 25го августа, когда профессиональное жюри из 5 членов прослушало все 18 поданных заявок и отобрано 12 лучших из них для участия в телевизионном раунде.

Выступления финала будут записаны вживую 19-20 сентября и показаны 25го сентября, когда в прямом эфире телегосование и голосование профессионального жюри в соотношении 50-50 определят победителя.

08/08 Upd.09,12/08 Moldovan broadcaster TRM has launched national preselection for Eurovisionul copiilor (Junior Eurovision Song Contest) 2010. Songs should be submitted till August 22 to the address: Chisinau, Mioritza str 1, Radio House, office 703. Internal phone: 2834, city phone: 739 159.

Along with the recorded song and it's backing track, biography in Romanian for each performer and songwriter, photos of the performer, lyrics in language of performance and translation in case it is not Romanian, a written statement that children have taken active part in songwriting and declaration of parents that they agree to the conditions of TRM of the national preselection should be submitted.

The rules for the entries are similar to general JESC ones with one difference - songs can be performed in French and English besides preferrable Romanian language.
Update: Upon consultations the rule has now been corrected and according to EBU rules only songs in Romanian language are accepted.

On August 25-31 songs will be judged by the professional jury and 10-15 songs will proceed to the national final scheduled for some day on the week from September 25 to October 2. Winner will be selected by 50/50 televoting and professional jury vote. In case of tie, jury vote will prevail.

There is small possibility that due to lack of finances TRM may be forced to cancel televised preselection and chose entry internally from submitted applications. According to head of delegation Vitalie Cojocaru such permit from EBU has been already received.

By 12th of August, 10 days before the end of deadline, 17 entries have been received.

Вместе с плюсовой и минусовой версиями песни должны также быть поданы биография на румынском каждого исполнителя и автора, фото исполнителя, текст на языке исполнения и перевод, если это не румынский, письменное заявление о том, что дети действительно принимали активное участие в создание песни, и письменное согласие родителей с условиями национального отбора Телерадиокомпании Молдовы.

Правила для песен повторяют в основном общие правила Детского Евровидения за одним исключением - песни могут исполняться помимо предпочтительного румынского на французском и английском языках.
Обновление: По итогам консультация данное правило было обновлено и согласно требованиям ЕВС принимаются песни только на румынском языке.

25-31 августа поданные песни будут прослушаны национальным жюри и 10-15 песен выйдут в национальный финал, намеченный на неделю с 25 сентября по 2 октября. Победитель будет выбран совместным голосованием телезрителей и жюри в соотношении 50/50. В случае ничьей, преимущество получит фаворит жюри.

Существует вероятность того, что из-за недостатка финансирования ТРМ может быть вынуждена отменить телевизионный отбор и выбрать песню внутренним отбором из числа принятых заявок. Как сообщил глава делегации Виталий Кожокару, такое разрешение от ЕВС уже было получено.

На 12 августа, 10 дней до крайнего срока, было получено 17 заявок.

According to the head of delegation Vitalie Cojocaru it was not easy decision to take. Moldova has been investigating possibility to join competition for the last three years, but as participation fee for JESC was appearing to be even higher than for adult ESC the broadcaster from one of the poorest European countries was not able to take this costs. Already this year, on the first deadline Moldovan broadcaster was ready to submit the letter of withdrawal, but personal approach by EBU and additional time given to it's members to think over possible participation in the contest have produced the positive outcome.

Also, this year EBU has made a special offer to the broadcasters and the fee cost has been significantly lowered. It is yet to be seen whether this has attracted any new member countries besides Moldova and returning Lithuania.

The costs of production of the national preselection and preparations for the contest still remain high though as EBU demands all contestants to be selected through televized shows. This has been one of the reasons stated by Azerbaijan which has withdrawn again it's preliminary application. Both Moldova and Lithuania are now thinking on the way to conduct the national selections with as low costs as possible and their schemes are yet to be finalized.

Молдова рассматривала возможность присоединиться к конкурсу уже три последних года, но поскольку взнос за право участия в нем был более высок чем даже на участие во взрослом Евровидении, телеканал одной из беднейших стран в Европе не мог позволить себе подобных затрат. Уже в этом году, по истечению первого крайнего срока приема заявок молдавский вещатель был готов отправить письмо с отказом от участия, но персональный подход ЕВС и дополнительное время, данное членам союза на рассмотрение возможного участия в конкурсе дали положительные результаты.

Также, в этом году ЕВС сделал специальное предложение телекомпаниям и взнос за право участия в детском конкурсе был значительно снижен. Нам еще предстоит увидеть, привлекло ли это к конкурсу какие-либо еще страны, помимо Молдовы и возвращающейся Литвы.

Затраты на проведение национального отбора и подготовку к конкурсу по прежнему однако остаются высокими, поскольку ЕВС требует, чтобы все участники были отобраны посредством телевизионных шоу. Это было одной из причин озвученных Азербайджаном при снятии своей предварительной заявки. И Молдова и Литва сейчас изучают возможности проведения отбора с наименьшими возможными затратами, и поэтому их окончательные схемы пока еще не определены.
