| Vladimir
Arzumanyan was born on May 26, 1998 in Stepanakert (Nagorno Karabakh) in a family of
musical teachers. He studies at the school No. 1 after Khachatur Abovian and attends the
Lyceum of Arts or the musical studies. 12-year-old Vladimir (sometimes performs under stage name VOV-1) from Armenia now wants to sing with the stars of the world stage - Stevie Wonder and Dmitri Hvorostovsky. And it seems that he may quite well succeed in it. Vladimir is already winner of diplomas of Pan-Armenian festival "Carot" and the festival named after Arno Babajanian, he began to sing at the age of two to three years and started musical studies at the age of 6. Vladimir performs songs in Armenian, Russian, English and Italian. His biggest achievement prior to Junior Eurovision success
was 3rd place in 8 to 12 age category in the international music festival "New Wave
Junior 2010" in July 2010 and here you can watch his performances here: "Spiderman" (day 1) and "Gharabagh" (day 2). He
has won the special prize - synthesizer at the event. "I will do everything to achieve the victory. Armenia should be the first", confidently says Vladimir. To the national preselection Vova has been brought by love. He felt in love with a girl and composed a song about it. This song brought him the victory, but he has already forgotten about his muse. "No, I'm no longer in love with her", he says. In the upcoming months, boy will be assisted by professionals to prepare for the final performance. A show presentation will be created, possibly arrangement of the song will be slightly changed. |

Арзуманян родился 26го мая 1998 года в Степанакерте
(Нагорный Карабах) в семье педагогов по музыке. Он
учится в школе №1 им. Хачатура Абовяна и посещает
художественный лицей для занятий музыкой. 12-летний Владимир (выступающий также под псевдонимом VOV-1) из Армении уже сейчас мечтает спеть с монстрами мировой сцены - Стиви Уандером и Дмитрием Хворостовским. И кажется, что все у него получится. Ведь Владимир уже является обладателем дипломов всеармянского фестиваля «Карот» и фестиваля имени Арно Бабаджаняна, начал петь он и вовсе в возрасте двух-трех лет, а серьезно заниматься музыкой с 6 лет. Владимир поет песни на армянском, русском, английском и итальянском. До Детского Евровидения его
наивысшим успехом было 3е место в категории от 8
до 12 лет на международном фестивале "Детская
Новая Волна" в июле 2010 и вы можете посмотреть

На конкурсе он был награжден специальным призом -
синтезатором. "Я сделаю все, чтобы победить.
Армения должна быть первой", – уверен Владимир.
В национальный отборочный тур Вову привела
любовь. Он влюбился в девочку и написал о ней
песню. Песня подарила ему победу, а о своей музе
победитель отборочного тура уже забыл: "Нет, я
ее уже не люблю". В течение ближайшего времени
с мальчиком будут работать специалисты, которые
подготовят его к выступлению. Будет поставлено
шоу, возможно, немного изменится аранжировка
песни. |

| - Hello, Vladimir! First of all, our congratulations for
being selected the Armenian Junior Eurovision representative! What was your first thought
when you realized that you are the winner of the preselection? - Hello, Eurovision! "I prayed and He has heard me...!"  -
Please, introduce yourself to us in one sentence?- I am - "4*A" - Artsakh (this is my native land), Armenia (I am a citizen of Armenia and will represent his country), Arzumanyan (I must be worthy of my surname), Aradzhin (in Armenian it means - the first!). - Tell us how was your song created? Whether it is based on some personal feelings? - I always share my thoughts with my mother, and the idea of the song is the result of it. I was helped to properly express my thoughts by my producer and tutor Lira Kocharyan, well-known songwriter and a friend of mine Vahram Petrosyan and arranger Der-Hova. And the inspiration of it all was, as you might imagine, some pianist! - You have participated in the preselection for the first time, how this wish has appeared? Was it your idea or the one of your parents and teachers? Whether you have been counting on a victory? - The Eurovision Song Contest in Armenia is an event of particular interest and I, like many singers, wanted to take part in it. Even last year there was the intention, but I was not ready enough. And this year, my teacher thought that in case of serious work I'll have chances to win. - What do you think was the main reason that helped you to finish on the top? - Energy + good song + good team + great desire + prayer! - What are your plans of preparations for the contest? - Everything is going according to the plan, with me is working the same team + First national channel + my parents + lot of good people in Armenia and beyond! - At the preselection you have performed on stage alone, but for the Eurovision final there will be several backing dancers, what do you think about this? - I am quite comfortable alone on the big stages, and then, my song is very personal. But all the rest - it's a decision of adults! - In your image people have seen references to Michael Jackson and Dima Bilan and other stars, and have you been really trying to looks like someone? - This is a great compliment for me, comparing me with the idol of pop music Jackson! Perhaps the similarity in the image of the "boy from neighbourhood" and "a bit of a bully." This is in fact what I'm really, so the case is probably in the sincerity and truthfulness of my story?! After all, the secret of Michael too was in the sincerity and a smile! - Did you have an opportunity to watch previous Junior Eurovision Song Contests, whether you liked any songs? - I am familiar with many songs of past contests, for example I really like the one from Georgian bees.  -
Have you talked with some previous representatives of Armenia in this contest, whether
have you received any advice from them?- Personally, I'm acquainted only with the Luara, the advice is the simple - to be self-collected! (Which I'm not really enough!) - Are you interested to know who will be your rivals in Minsk, whether you're following the news of the contest, do you plan to listen to each song in advance? - I do not treat them as rivals, but rather my future friends! The song of each of them is interesting to me. - You have only recently returned from another major festival "New Wave", what memories do you have of it? - The best ones - "the sea of memories from the Black sea!". - Do you like to take part in competitions? Have you performed somewhere outside of Armenia, in addition to the "New Wave"? - With the group "Voices of Artsakh" I sang in Moscow at the festival "Carot". Seems I really like to participate and win in competitions?! Wow! - What does your repertoire mainly consist of? Does it include a lot of original songs? - In my repertoire there are international hits, the songs of Armenian composers and a couple of original songs. - What kind of music do you prefer? - Currently I am interested in everything! - Tell us how does your typical day look like? What do you usually do? What are you doing in your spare time? - School, singing, karate, computer, and afternoon tea with grandma and grandpa! - Do you think you will be able to combine contest preparations and studies? - If you do not waste time in vain - you can do everything! - In general, do you like to study? What are your favorite subjects in school? - Whether I have a choice - to study or not to study...!? No, I love school, I have friends there. Favorite subject is algebra. - What are your plans after the contest? Do you want to become a professional singer? - So far I can imagine myself only as a singer! Embassy of Armenia in Belarus and
Armenian diaspora will organize on 12th of November concert of support to participant of
Armenian in Junior Eurovision Vladimir Arzumanyan, to which also have been invited several
Armenian music stars, along with heads of diplomatic representative offices and Armenian
organizations. Meanwhile, Vladimir continues rehearsing for the show, and OGAE Armenia has managed to visit one of his preparations. As ArmTV has informed ESCKAZ, commentators of the show will be Gohar Gasparyan and Artak Vardanyan, while Armenian spokesperson will be 13-years old Nadya Sargsyan, one of Do-Re-Mi members. |

| 23/10 Vladimir Arzumanyan, representative of Armenia at JESC 2010
gave his first mini solo concert in the State Song Theatre of Armenia. Vladimir performed
some famous hits including "Spider-man", Georgi Minasyan's "Park Mer Azgutyan" world-known hit "Bella Signorina", Vardan Badalyan's "Gharabagh" etc. He also answered the questions of the audience. OGAE Armenia found out that the favourite singer of Vladimir is the world star Michael Jackson and Razmik Amyan amongst the Armenian artists, but he doesn’t want to have any resemblance with any of them, because he thinks that every artist should have his own style, but of course Vladimir dreams about such a popularity of Michael Jackson. The little star also said, that all the songs of JESC 2010 are nice, but he has his own favourite and this is Swedish song by Josefine Ridell. |

OGAE Armenia has visited the rehearsal of the backing dancers of Armenian team for JESC
2010. On stage with Vladimir will appear 5 male dancers: Grigor, Gevorg, Vakhtang, Daniel
and Tigran. As earlier reported, the choreographer is Kristina Avagimyan. The presentation of Armenian entry is based on the idea of Vladimir’s street-team friends, who have the same problem like him. They all want to know how to make the beloved girls pay attention to them. They do everything that boy’s arsenal has: tricks, somersault, smiling, chasing the girls, and they fail from time to time. That’s why they ask mothers on how to win a real lady’s heart. The powerful street and hip-hop dances mix with some Armenian ethnic elements from the dance of real medieval warriors; and there will be a little surprise. |

сообщалось, постановкой номера занимается
хореограф Кристина Авагимян. Армянский номер базируется на идее уличной команды друзей Владимира, которые сталкиваются с той же проблемой, что и он сам. Они все хотят узнать как можно привлечь к себе внимание любимых девушек. Они делают все, что есть в арсенале мальчиков: трюки, сальто, преследуют девочек и проваливаются время от времени. Поэтому, они спрашивают совета о том, как завоевать женское сердце у матерей. В номере можно будет увидеть мощные стрит и хип-хоп танцы в сочетании с некоторыми народными армянскими элементами из танцев настоящих средневековых воинов, а также будет и небольшой сюрприз. |

The representative of Armenia in Junior Eurovision 2010 Vladimir Arzumanyan has felt ill
with pneumonia, informed Armenian head of delegation Diana Mnatsakanyan in the interview
to Tert.am. "He is sick for already four days. Of course, we are still working with
him, but not as actively as before. We have left him to gain health, and his parents are
trying to keep the kid in a bed" - she said. Speaking about the process of preparing for the competition, the coordinator reported that the team is working on recording of a new version of the track. "We decided to remove something and add a more powerful sound," - explained Mnatsakanyan. In addition, work is carried out on the staging. According to the coordinator, the choreography will be prepared by Kristine Hovakimyan, who herself had been winner of several international dance competitions. "We think over also the costumes, perhaps LC company will be dealing wit this issue, but this is not the final choice," - she said. Mnatsakanyan added that this time there will be no backing vocalists. "On stage up to six people are allowed, so we decided to focus on the show, the dancers" - she explained. We remind that Ukrainian representative at the contest Yuliya Gurska spent some time before the national final in the hospital, from which she came out only a few days before the performance, but still for more than a month after the competition was regaining her health and could not sing. Диана Мнацаканян. "Уже четыре дня он болеет.
Конечно же, мы работаем с ним, но не так активно.
Можно сказать, мы оставили ребенка в покое,
родители пытаются удержать его в постели", -
сказала она. Говоря о процессе подготовки к конкурсу, координатор сообщила, что коллектив работает над записью фонограммы. "Мы решили убрать кое–что и добавить более мощный звук", – пояснила Мнацаканян. Кроме того, работы ведутся и над постановкой номера. По словам координатора, хореографией номера займется Кристина Авагимян, которая сама не раз выигрывала на международных танцевальных конкурсах. "Мы продумываем и костюмы участников, возможно, этим вопросом займется компания LC, но это не окончательный выбор", - сказала она. Мнацаканян добавила, что на этот раз бэк-вокала не будет. "На сцене могут находиться шесть человек, мы решили акцентировать внимание на самом шоу, на подтанцовке", - пояснила она. Напомним, что представительница Украины на конкурсе Юлия Гурская перед национальным отбором попала в больницу, из которой вышла только за несколько дней до выступления, но еще более чем месяц после конкурса восстанавливала свое здоровье и не могла выступать. 02-03/09 Quarterfinals of the Armenian preselection take place in Yereval ArmTV studios.
The professional jury (no televoting applied on early rounds) will select the best 8-10
songs from 12-13 competing in each quarterfinal. For the first time Armenian Eurovision
show will be also broadcasted online on it's website
(from 15.00 to 16.40 CET). Show will be hosted by ArmTV's Artak Vardanyan and Anahit Sargsyan - member of ensemble of Armenian Radio "Arevik" who took part in JESC 2007. Additionally, there are around 5 members of the new Arevik line-up taking part in preselection as participants. Armenian dance groups "Millenium" and "Style" will be featured in opening and interval acts of the contest. | On August 25 all the participants of the JESC Armenian National
Selection gathered in "Play City" to have fun and take part in a draw. The
running order numbers were printed on a small balloon, which was located in a bigger one.
Each participating child had to touch the chosen balloon with a magic wand in order to
reveal the hidden number. Meanwhile all the kids are treated like the real stars. They have everyday rehearsals, they are invited to the TV and Radio interviews, there’s a huge interest from local press and all of them have already spoken about their feelings with the printed and electronic media as well, informs OGAE Armenia. |

того, чтобы отдохнуть и принять участие в
жеребьевке. Порядковые номера были напечатаны на
маленьком воздушном шарике, который в свою
очередь был упакован в большой шар. Каждый

волшебной палочкой, чтобы узнать скрытый в нем

| 11/08 Armenian broadcaster ArmTV has once again rescheduled the national
preselection for Junior Eurovision 2010. After original dates of 12-15 of August,
preselection has been then moved to 26-29 of August and now gets another airing dates of
2-5 of September. The structure of preselection stays the same. On September 2nd and 3rd the jury will select the best 10 songs from 13 competing in each quarterfinal. The early stages of preselection will be aired at 18.00 local time (15.00 CET). On September 4th the jury will select 10 songs from the 20 semifinalists. Semifinal will be aired at 18.30-20.30 local (15.30-17.30 CET). Final of 10 entries will take place in ArmTV studio in Yerevan on September 5th and will be aired live at 21.40 Yerevan time (18.40-20.40 CET). It is expected that all shows will be aired live on satellite Panarmenian TV and online on ArmTV website. During the first three days only professional jury vote will be used. Combined vote is possible at the final, but ArmTV is negotiating with EBU to allow only professional jury vote in the final as well, informed Head of Delegation of Armenia Diana Mnatsakanyan. 31 entries have been received by the broadcaster and 26 of them have been chosen for the televized stage of the preselection. The songs now have been published by OGAE Armenia on it's website and on ArmTV website here. Three songs (09, 11 and 20) are currently missing and will be published after some technical work on them. It is possible that 2 of them will not be featured in the quarterfinals, thus each quaterfinal show will have 12 or 13 entries. Soon, songs will be also made available through eurovision.am website. Razmik Aghajanyan took part in preselection 2009 finishing 2nd and on August 20-22 will represent Armenia in New Wave Junior festival (together with another participant of the preselection Vladimir Arzumanyan aka Vov-1). Band "Zangak" took part in preselection 2009 as well. Band "Do-Re-Mi" took part in preselection 2008 finishing runner-ups. This year Do-Re-Mi will perform as trio of Nadezhda Sargsyan (5 entries in 2008 preselection), Meri Arzumanyan (4 entries in 2008) and Sona Gyulhasyan (Armenian representative at Slavic Bazaar 2008). Draw for the quaterfinals will take place on August 30th. Update 24/08: The winner of the final will be determined by 50-50 vote of jury and televoting. Only 5 votes per phone will be allowed. |

первоначальных дат 12-15 августа, отбор был сначала
перенесен на 26-29 августа, а теперь вновь отложен,
уже до 2-5 сентября. Структура отбора остается неизменной. 2го и 3го сентября жюри выберет 10 лучших песен из 13 принимающих участие в каждом четвертьфинале. Предварительные этапы отбора будут показаны в 18.00 местного времени (17.00 Москвы).4го сентября жюри выберет 10 лучших песен из 20 полуфиналистов. Полуфинал будет показан в 18.30-20.30 местного времени. Финал из 10 песен состоится 5го сентября в студии ArmTV в Ереване и будет показан в прямом эфире в 21.40 времени Еревана (20.40 Москвы). Ожидается, что все шоу будут показаны в прямом эфире также по спутниковому Panarmenian TV и онлайн на сайте ArmTV. В первые 3 дня будет использовано только голосование жюри, в финале возможно будет комбинированное голосование, но телевидение Армении ведет переговоры с ЕВС о том, чтоб оставить только голосование жюри, сообщила глава делегации Диана Мнацаканян. Была получена 31 заявка и 26 из них были отобраны для участия в телевизионной стадии отбора. Песни отбора были опубликованы на вебсайте ОГАЕ Армении и на сайте ArmTV здесь. Три песни (09, 11 и 20) в настоящее время отсутствуют, поскольку проходят техническую доработку. Возможно, что две из них не будут включены в четвертьфиналы, поэтому в каждом шоу примут участие 12 или 13 песен. В ближайшее время песни будут также размещены на сайте eurovision.am Размик Агаджанян принимал участие в отборе 2009 года, заняв 2е место, а 20-22 августа представит Армению на конкурсе Детская Новая Волна (вместе с еще одним участником отбора Владимиром Арзуманяном - Vov-1). Группа "Zangak" также участвовала в прошлогоднем отборе. Группа "Do-Re-Mi" принимала участие в отборе 2008 года став второй. В этом году До-Ре-Ми выступят как трио, в которое войдут Надежда Саргсян (5 песен в отборе 2008), Мери Арзуманян (4 песни в 2008) и Сона Гюлхасян (представительница Армении на Славянском Базаре 2008). Жеребьевка порядка выступлений пройдет 30го августа. Обновление 24/08: Победитель финала будет определен голосованием 50-50 жюри и телезрителей. Armenian broadcaster has announced that no televoting will be used during the national
preselection for Junior Eurovision 2010, informed Armenian News agency head of delegation
of Armenia Diana Mnatsakanyan. "This decision was motivated by the desire to ensure the most equal conditions for all candidates, to exclude cases when some richer parents send many SMS messages for their child" - explained Mnatsakanyan. According to her, this issue was discussed for a long time and it was decided that henceforth the representative of Armenia will be chosen by 100% jury vote. International rules of the contest have the paragraph stating that "It is recommended to use televoting as a means of selection in order to promote awareness of the Contest", however it doesn't have an obligatory status. Mnatsakayan has also informed that submission deadline for the national contest is August 5th. "The national selection will take place from 26 to 29th of August in live broadcast of ArmTV. During the final on August 29, participant who will represent Armenia at Junior Eurovision 2010 in Minsk on November 20 will be determined", - the project manager noted the changes in the dates of the competition. On August 26 and 27 the jury will select the best 10 songs from 15 competing in each quarterfinal. On August 28 the jury will select 10 songs from the 20 semifinalists. Final of 10 entries will take place on August 29. |

"Такое решение обусловлено стремлением обеспечить максимально равные условия для всех кандидатов, исключить случаи, когда наиболее имущие родители посылают множество смс-сообщений в пользу своего ребенка", - пояснила Мнацаканян. По ее словам, этот вопрос долго обсуждался и было решено, что отныне представителя Армении будет выбирать профессиональное жюри. Международные правила конкурса содержат положение, гласящее, что "В целях повышения уровня информативности об организации конкурса рекомендуется при проведении национального отбора использовать телеголосование", однако оно не носит принудительного характера. Мнацаканян также сообщила, что заявки на участие в национальном отборе принимаются до 5-го августа. "Национальный отбор пройдет с 26 по 29-ое августа в прямом эфире ОТА. Во время финала, 29-го августа, будет определен участник, который будет представлять Армению на Детском Евровидении-2010 в Минске 20 ноября", - отметила изменения в сроках проведения конкурса руководитель проекта. 26го и 27го августа жюри выберет 10 лучших песен из 15, принимающих участие в каждом полуфинале. 28го августа жюри отберет 10 песен из 20 полуфиналистов. The Armenian pre-selection round of the Junior Eurovision 2010 will be held August 12-15.
Diana Mnatsakanyan, RA Public TV’s advisor on special projects, told Armenpress that the
pre-selection round is consisted of several parts and that people will have the
opportunity to follow it via live broadcast. The jury will select the best 30 songs, which
will take part in two quaterfinals - August 12 and 13. 10 best of each quaterfinal will
qualify to the semifinal which will take place on August 14th. As the result of which 10
participants will be selected for the final of competition - August 15th. The winner will
represent Armenia in the Junior Eurovision 2010 in Minsk. Diana Mnatsakanyan informed that
the deadline for the admission of applications has been prolonged. ‘We want the
participants to represent only good songs, so we decided to prolong the deadline. The
participants now have the opportunity to get prepared for the competition properly till
August 5,’ Diana Mnatsakanyan said. Upd. 19/06 More than 30 applications to take part in the contest have been receieived till now. |

отбор будет состоять из нескольких этапов и за
ними можно будет следить в прямом эфире.
Первоначально жюри выберет 30 композиций, которые
примут участие в двух четвертьфиналах - 12го и 13го
августа. По 10 лучших из каждого четвертьфинала
выйдут в полуфинал, который состоится 14го
августа. По его итогам будут определены 10
участников, которые будут допущены до финала
конкурса - 15го августа. И уже его победитель
представит Армению на Евровидении в Минске.
Диана Мнацаканян сообщила, что крайний срок
приема заявок на участие в отборочном туре был
продлен. "Мы хотим, чтобы конкурсанты
исполняли только хорошие песни, поэтому мы
продлили прием заявок. Теперь у исполнителей
будет возможность подготовиться к конкурсу до 5го
