Rona Nishliu will represent Albania with song Suus (Personal in Latin) written by Florent Boshnjaku and Rona Nishliu. "The lyrics refer to an emotional condition while reflecting for the things that happened in the past and expectations of unsure tomorrows", describes Rona. Song will be performed in Albanian in Baku. Final version of Albanian entry was produced in Los Angeles at the Ocean Way Recording and Capitol Records and the mastering of the song at Sterling sound studio New York.

Rona Nishliu was born on August 25, 1986 in Mitrovica. At age thirteen Rona and her family moved to the now capital of Kosovo Prishtina. She has graduated in Business Administration and Management at the American University of Kosovo. Rona Nishliu was a contestant on Albanian Idol in 2004 in the end Rona placed in the top 5. She has then worked on Radio Blue Sky in Prishtina as a radio presenter. In 2005 she took part in Festivali i Kenges in a trio with Teuta Kurti and Vesa Luma performing "Flakareshka". In 2008 she performed on RTK Gala Concert Nexhmije Pagarusha’s hit "Baresha" and in 2009 same concert she tributed Michael Jackson’s "Billie Jean". She has also taken part in festival "Kenga Magjike" in 2008 with "Shenja" and 2009 with "Zonja Vdekje" winning "Best vocal" award. She is an award-winner of Top Fest and Polifest as well, and had chart hits with "Te lashe", "Shenja", "Eja", "Veriu", "A ka arsy" feat.Bim Bimma and "Shko pastro pas saj". Last year, on 9th of April, Rona had her first solo concert with thу famous pianist Gent Rushi, performing old Albanian songs in the own jazz orchestration.

Rona usually perform soul, jazz and pop hits in different events. Professional musicians compare Rona with some famous artists like Aretha Franklin or Chaka Khan. Rona Nishliu is also known for an unique fashion-style. Humanitarian work is an important field of action for Rona Nishliu. As a student she organized humanitarian concerts in Kosovo, and in 2009 she took part as a guest lecturer in the UNDP activity on Awareness Raising for the Importance of Volunteerism for Youngsters in Vushtri. Apart from that, she actively supports people with Autism, and she is a chairperson of the Institute for Sustainability and Development of Youth in Kosovo.

Рона Нишлиу родилась 25 августа 1986 в Митровице. В возрасте 13 лет Рона и ее семья перебрались в столицу Косово Приштину. Она закончила факультет Бизнес Администрирования и Менеджмента в Американском Университете в Косово. Рона Нишлиу была конкурсанткой Албанского Идола в 2004 году, где вошла в первую пятерку. Interview with Rona Nishliu in Amsterdam

24/03 Next contestant lined-up for interview with ESCKAZ is Albanian entrant Rona Nishliu.

"This is the most important achievement in my music career so far and I’m enjoying myself", described Rona her feelings. "Suus is an expression of a very important period of my life. Its more than a song!", she said. "The process of writing this song was very unique. Together with the composer we talked a lot, and understood that there should not be any boundaries that would limit our creative peak. We let everything flow naturally, and yes this added a lot of value to the very final output. The lyrics refer to an emotional circumstance while reflecting for the things that happened in the past and expectations of unsure tomorrows. “Suus” is a Latin word that means “Personal”. And yes, Suus was written specially for the FiK, as it was the 50th edition of the FiK I have decided to enter it".

"I have recorded the final version of the Suus in very prestigious studios such as Ocean Way and Capitol Records in LA, as well as the mastering was completed at the Sterling Studios in NY. Suus was not created to change along the way, as such the only change is its duration, which currently has become three minutes. In its structure it remains the same, with few reductions at the intro, chorus and instrumental part", she said on the creation of ESC version of her entry. As per language of perfomance, Rona has noted: "I have an impression that a song or a musical piece sounds always the best in its original version. Also, music and interpretation knows no language, emotions and feelings talk themselves and always go beyond words".

The music video has also been released: "I should state that I am very satisfied with the video of Suus. It’s a poetic video which through its all components, directing, camera, lighting, costumes, requisites, composition, symbols, colors and atmosphere intends to depict this life’s absurd, through an abstract art form. The beautiful thing is that everyone can give its meaning to it, so this video allows a variety of interpretation, and each person can have its own. The video is a work of the theater director Bekim Lumi and Koperativa company".

Rona says that her aim for the contest is: "What I really want is to be able to give my best performance and interpretation of the song. I just don’t prefer to calculate the success in advance, because it will not allow me to concentrate in my work". She is sure that "promotion has an impact on the overall success of the song! I will visit few places aiming to promote and present Suus. Soon I will be able to announce my dates and venues"

Rona has been following Eurovision from time to time in the past, but remembers Patricia Kaas and her performance. Unfortunately, she had no time yet to listen to all participants of the 2012 contest so she can't mention her favourite act yet. However, she had read the news about Russian choice, and afterwards saw the performance. "I found it very interesting. “Buranovskie Babushki” will be an attraction of Eurosong 2012. I guess it was very clever move to choose this song - a combination of folklore and dance music, for Eurovision". I wish them best of luck", said Albanian singer. As per her usual music preferences: "I listen to a lot of music and my influences come from classical to experimental electronic music. It’s a wide range of music genres, artists, singers, bands, composers, which have influenced me as an artist. But not only music and musicians! The style that I prefer to sing is experimenting in jazz, in combination with traditional Albanian music and soul music".

"At the very end, I would like to thank everybody for their attention and time to listen to Suus and read this interview. "Это самое важное достижение в моей музыкальной карьере и сейчас я просто получаю удовольствие", описала певица свои чувства. "Suus - это выражение очень важного периодна в моей жизни. Это больше, чем просто песня!", говорит она. "Процесс ее написания был уникальным. Вместе с композитором мы много обсуждали, и поняли, что не должно быть никаких границ, которые бы лимитировали наши креативные мысли. Мы позволили всему происходить так, как оно шло естественно, и это добавило очень большую ценность итоговому продукту. Текст песни рассказывает о эмоциональных обстоятельствах, которые произошли в прошлом, и неуверенных ожиданиях от будущего. "Suus" - это латинское слово, означающее "Личный". Да, песня была написана специально для участия в фестивале FiK, а принять участие в нем я решила, потому что это был 50й, юбилейный конкурс".

"Финальную версию Suus мы записали в престижных студиях Ocean Way и Capitol Records в Лос Анджелесе, а мастеринг был сделан в Sterling Studios в Нью Йорке. Мы не планировали как-то менять песню, единственным значительным изменением было ее сокращение по времени, нам надо было привести ее к трем минутам. Но структура песни осталась той же самой, несколько редукций во вступлении, припев и инструментальная часть", описала Рона создание конкурсной версии своего произведения. Что же касается языка выступления, то Рона отметила: "У меня есть впечатление, что песня или музыкальное произведение всегда звучат лучше всего в оригинальной, первоначальной версии. А также, музыка и интерпретация не знают языков, эмоции и чувства говорят сами за себя, и всегда выходят за рамки слов".

Вышел также видеоклип на конкурсную песню: "Я должна отметить, что я очень довольна видео на песню Suus. Это поэтическое видео, которое с помощью всех своих компонентов - режиссуры, работы оператора, осветителей, костюмы, реквизиты, символику, цвета и атмосферу передает абсурдность этой жизни, через форму абстрактного искусства. Самое красивое в том, что каждый может по своему истолковать этот клип, он позволяет множество различных интерпретаций, и у каждого зрителя она может быть своя. Клип стал работой театрального режиссера Бекима Луми и компании Koperativa".

Рона говорит, что ее целью для конкурса является: "Чего я действительно хочу - так это дать свое лучшее выступление и интерпретацию песни. Я предпочитаю не просчитывать успех заранее, потому что это не дает сконцентрироваться на моей работе". Она уверена, что "промоушен отражается на общем успехе песни! И поэтому я выступлю в некоторых местах с презентацией Suus. Скоро я объявлю даты и страны".

Рона следила за Евровидением время от времени, но помнит Патрисию Каас и ее замечательное выступление. К сожалению, у певицы пока не было времени прослушать все песни, принимающие участие в конкурсе Евровидение 2012, поэтому своих фаворитов она пока назвать не может. Однако, она читала в новостях и потом посмотрела видео выступления представительниц России. "Оно мне показалось весьма интересным. "Бурановские Бабушки" несомненно будут привлекать к себе внимание на конкурсе Евровидение 2012. Мне кажется, что это был очень разумный шаг, выбрать эту песню - смесь фольклора и танцевальной музыки, для Евровидения. Я желаю им удачи", отметила представительница Албании. Что же касается ее обычных предпочтений в музыке: "Я слушаю много музыки, от классической, до экспериментально электронной. Это очень широкий срез музыкальных жанров, артистов, групп, композиторов, которые повлияли на меня как певицу. Но не только музыка и музыканты! Стиль, в котором я сама предпочитаю петь - это экспериментальный джаз, в комбинации с народной албанской музыкой и музыкой соул".

Singer from unrecognized by Azerbaijan republic of Kosovo will defend Albanian colours at Eurovision. Yesterday report on the singer has been aired on Euronews Le Mag program. Albanian Radio Television RTSH has also set up a farewell party where famous artists of the country came to wish good luck to Rona and her entry Suus.

27/04 Hungary’s Eurovision contestants Compact Disco welcomed the Albanian contestant Rona Nishliu at the Hungarian Television on Friday. The Albanian contestant will have a busy day ahead of her on Friday, appearing on several television and radio shows, including national broacaster MTV

24/04 After Amsterdam, Rona Nishliu has travelled to Cyprus, becoming guest of CyBC, MTV and OGAE Cyprus. Next stop in Rona's tour will be Austria

17/04 After Podgorica, the representative of Albania in Eurovision has traveled to Bucharest (Romania), in order to participate in television programs at the Antena 1 TV, TV Romania and TVR1.

This week Rona will also be present in traditional "Eurovision in Concert" event, which is organized on April 21 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. After that she will continue her tour in Cyprus.

05/04 Albanian entrant Rona Nishliu is also starting her promotional tour. Tomorrow, on April 6th she will visit Montenegro. Interview with Mitrovica-born singer representing Albania will be broadcasted at 11.10 in the morning in Cafe show on TVCG2. Also singer will give interviews to printed media, including Dnevne Novine.

Every working day Cafe show is also broadcasting preview videos of ESC 2012 entrants.

Earlier, Montenegro has been visited by the Turkish entrant Can Bonomo, who appeared on programs of TVCG, TV Atlas, met with newspaper journalists and attended the dinner in Turkish embassy.

Интервью с рожденной в Митровице певицей, выступающей от Албании, будет показано на TVCG2 в 11.10 местного времени в программе Cafe. Также, певица даст интервью печатным СМИ, включая Dnevne Novine.

Albanian broadcaster RTSH has now revealed the full song titles and performers for both sets of semi finals which will take place on December 26th and 27th respectively. Enkeleida Zeko, Nik Xhelilaj and Hygerta Sako will host the show. The songs will be performed with the backing of the RTSH Symphony Orchestra, with the five conductors being Gridi Kraja, Oleg Arapi, Alfred Kacinari, Edomond Zhulali and Jetmir Barbullushi.

Телекомпания Албании RTSH объявила полные детали (названия песен, имена исполнителей и авторов) участников полуфиналов Festivali i Kenges, назначенных на 26 и 27 декабря. Enkeleida Zeko, Nik Xhelilaj и Hygerta Sako станут ведущими шоу. 50th anniversary edition of Albanian Festivali i Kenges will as usual take place in December with national final on December 29th. This year's festival will span over 4 days period. Entries are accepted on October 3 and 4.

50й юбилейный выпуск албанского Festivali i Kenges пройдет, как обычно, в декабре, с финалом 29 декабря. В этом году фестиваль будет проходить в четыре дня. Заявки принимаются 3го и 4го октября.
