Azerbaijan Second Rehearsal: Elnur Huseynov - Hour Of The Wolf

The falsetto in the beginning of the song? Oh yes it is actually Elnur himself. Impressive stuf. Vocally Elnur knows exactly how to play the Eurovision game as he's been here before.

I'm actually liking the aqua blue and red backdrop, but I'm agreeing with the majority that the dancers more or less ruin the way the performance is shown. Contemporary dancing for the sake of it, takes attention away from the song itself.

One of the best backdrops of the day-a moon, a forest, black and white, atmospherical. Turns into red and black in the middle of the song which is also very fitting. Apart from the out-of-place choreography though, Elnur seems to be over-trying and doesn't look at the camera much. Vocally good but still sometimes over the top.Not happy with this i'm afraid.

A winning performance... if it was Eurovision Dance Contest that had never occurred in Baku. The dancing couple is amazing, but I completely don't feel emotions coming from Elnur himself. I would prefer him being active in the performance and being the wolf himself, giving the emotions. He is a bit restrained from everything happening on the stage.

Besides dancers there are three backing vocalists, Nicklas Lif and two female backings.

It can do really well, if Elnur is more involved and starts delivering emotions from the song himself and isn't only relying on the French/Canadian couple of dancers, who are doing amazing job.

Azerbaijan First Rehearsal: Elnur Huseynov - Hour Of The Wolf

Elnur Huseynov is the first ever Azerbaijani candidate to return the contest, and I personally think it was a great choice for him to come back with a much much much better solo effort.

I love the staging. It's very aqua-blue looking with a moon. But it gets really really gorgeous when there's red included.

Elnur is a fantastic performer, he is so so professional and sings his song with ease. I'm however not so sure about the backing vocals. During the chorus they are really overpowering him. While the backings are not on the stage, Elnur's joined by two contemporary dancers.

I like the feel of it, and am quite certain Azerbaijan will qualify. Best we've seen so far.

Azerbaijan, Dix Points!
