 The all-girl band Cute
won first place at the Junior Malta Song for Europe 2007 held on 7th of September at the
'Sir Temi Zammit Hall' at Tal-Qroqq. Cute performed their song entitled "Music" which was written and
composed by themselves. Danica Muscat with her song “Stolen” placed second followed in
third place by Kidz Mania and the song “New Generation”. The show was hosted by Sean
Vella and Christine Haber. Sophie Debattista, who won last year’s edition of the Junior
Malta Song for Europe was the interval act. Results were based on a mixture of judges and
televoting. In all 63 songs had been initially submitted for the contest. These were heard
on a demo CD on Friday 24th August and live on Saturday 25th August, by a jury comprising
of four adults and four teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15. The jury then choose the
16 finalists who battled it out during the Junior Song for Europe Festival on Friday.The group CUTE is made of Celaine Borg, Marzia Farrugia, Paulanne Farrugia, Salaia Gerada and Trisha Smith, who are aged between 11 to 13. Their first single issued was "Hey You!". They are also part of the Angelic Voices Choir and their vocal trainer is Alison Ellul. "Cute" learn dancing at Annalise School of Dancing. Celaine, 11, of Qormi, attends the Immaculate Conception school and is the diva of the group, with a voice that captivates you. She has been singing and dancing for the past five years and has participated and won various festivals, including Jum l-Omm. She also won overall prizes for Best Voice and Best Singer. Celaine is the ‘diva’ of the group, with a voice that stops you in your tracks. Marzia, 12, is the shy girl of the group. Yet this hasn't stopped her from earning prestigious titles, including Best Choreography in the Golden Cross Festival for two consecutive years. She also participated in the Carnival of Tunis in Tunisia and has been selected to participate in the International Nile Song Festival in Cairo, Egypt, next year. Marzia is the youngest of two sisters and was born in Qormi but later moved to Birkirkara. Paulanne, the bubbliest girl of the group, lives in Rabat and is the eldest of two sisters. She attends Mriehel Junior Lyceum, and has been attending singing lessons since she was six years old. She participated in various festivals and television shows. She has been taking dancing lessons since she was six years old, and also likes to swim and, of course, sing. Salaia, 11, of Birkirkara, is the youngest in the group. She has been singing and dancing for the past six years and has taken part in various festivals, winning many titles. She was awarded prizes in the Golden Cross Festival and participated in various television shows. She attends St Francis School, and has an older sister. Trisha, of Luqa, attends Sta Lucija Junior Lyceum. Trisha's passion is fashion, while her favourite subject is English. She has two younger sisters, and has been singing for the past eight years and dancing for four. She has won various titles in singing, including Best Voice, Best Singer, and the overall cup, and has participated in television shows. |

В итоге, жюри, в которое вошли 4 взрослых и 4 ребенка в возрасте от 13 до 15 лет выбрало 16 финалистов шоу, которые и приняли участие в национальном отборе. Группа CUTE состоит из Селейн Борг, Марсии Фарругия, Паулины Фарругия, Салэйи Герада и Триши Смит, возрастом от 11 до 13 лет. Их первым синглом была композиция "Hey You!". Они занимаются в Angelic Voices Choir, их преподавателем по вокалу является Элисон Эллул. Триша, из Люки, посещает лицей Sta Lucija Junior. Ее страсть - мода, а любимый предмет - английский язык. У нее есть две младшие сестры и она поет уже 8 лет, а танцует - 4. Она завоевывала множестов призов как лучшая певица, и принимала участие в различных телешоу. |

group Cute, who won the Junior Malta Song for Europe, are busy with preparations for the
Junior Eurovision 2007 and have launched their website, www.cutemalta.com
The girls leave for Rotterdam on 2 December to participate in the festival on 8 December, accompanied by their manager, Alison Ellul, their sound engineer, Elton Zarb, and their hairdresser, Cut Coiffeur. The girls intend to keep the same choreography and costumes as they had in Malta and are asking the Maltese audience to send them feedback via their site regarding their performance and costume choice. |

| The MaltaSong Board has announced receiving 63 entries for the 2007 Junior Song for Europe Festival. In previous years 114 entries were submitted in 2006, 146 in 2005 and 118 in 2004. | Maltasong Board has published regulations for
Junior ESC preselection. Selection of the song for the Junior Song for Europe Festival
2007 will take place in a number of phases. In all phases the jury panel shall consist of
50% children between 10 to 15 years and 50% adults. Eliminatory phase will take place on
22nd of August. Only 50 songs shall be retained for the live phase, which will take place
on 25th of August. Following the eliminatory phases, sixteen compositions shall make it to
the final, set for the beginning of September. In the final, all sixteen songs will be
judged again by a professional jury appointed by the Board and through televoting. Submission deadline has been set for August 10. A singer may submit up to two songs as an individual or a singer/singers may be part of the same group if submitting two songs. In the finals however every singer shall interpret only one song. In the final the song has to be interpreted only by the singer. Therefore no dancers, backing vocals, bands, etc will be allowed to accompany the singer on stage. |

песен выйдут в финал отбора, который пройдет в
начале сентября. Победитель будет выбран
совместным решением жюри и телезрителей. Крайний срок подачи заявок установлен на 10 августа. Каждый певец может подать не более двух песен. В финале, однако, каждому певцу разрешается исполнять только одну композицию. В финале песню должны исполнять только основные исполнители, участие танцоров, бэк-вокалистов, инструменталистов не разрешается. |
