| Pasha
Parfeny was born May 30, 1986 in Orhei a family of musicians (his mother was a piano
teacher and father was a singer and guitarist). He graduated from music school, piano
class. In 2002 he entered the Tiraspol College of Music at the "Piano Jazz"
department During these years he became a soloist of "Electromash" band. Already
in 2003, he was awarded Grand Prix at the competition Voices Of Transnistria. In 2006
entered the State Academy of Fine Arts on the pop-jazz department. From 2007 - Artist of
the Youth Theatre Pop Song of the Cultural Center "Elat". Winner of Grand Prix
of competitions "Doua inimi gemene" and "Faces of friends". Won first
place at the "Star of Elat," where he sang a song of his own. In 2007 won the I
prize in the festival "Duet of the Year" and "Silver Yantra" and was
awarded the II prize of the festival "Oriental Bazaar" (Ukraine). In 2008, at
the international pop music festival "Song of Peace" he won first place. From 2008 to 2009 - lead singer of SunStroke Project band. With it took part in the preselection for Eurovision 2009 with the song "No Crime", taking third place. In 2009, the artist took part in the International Festival of pop music George Grigoriu where he won another Grand Prize. In the same year, Pasha Parfeny participated in Mamaia Contest in Romania where he got the first place in the creation section with Andrew Tudor’s song You Do Not See The Sky. Winner of first prize at the competition "Slavic Bazaar" in Vitebsk, took second place at the festival "Golden Voices". Парфений родился 30 мая 1986 г. в городе Орхей в
семье музыкантов (его мама была педагогом по
фортепиано, а отец - певцом и гитаристом). С
отличием окончил музыкальную школу по классу
фортепиано. В 2002 г. поступил в Тираспольский
музыкальный колледж на отделение "фортепианный
джаз". В эти же годы стал солистом ВИА "Электромаш".
Уже в 2003 году он становится обладателем Гран При
на конкурсе Голоса Приднестровья. В 2006 г.
поступает в Государственную Академию Искусств
на эстрадно-джазовое отделение. С 2007 г. – артист
Молодежного театра эстрадной песни Культурного
центра "Элат". Обладатель Гран-При конкурсов
"Doua inimi gemene" и "Faces of friends". Завоевал
первое место на фестивале "Звезда Элата",
где исполнил песню собственного сочинения. В 2007 г.
стал лауреатом I Премии фестивалей "Дуэт года"
и "Серебряная Янтра", а также был удостоен II
Премии фестиваля "Восточный базар" (Украина).
В 2008 г. на международном фестивале эстрадной
музыки "Песни мира" завоевал первое место. С 2008 по 2009 год - солист группы SunStroke Project. В ее составе принимает участие в отборе на Евровидение 2009 с песней "No Crime", занимая 3е место. В 2009 году артист принял участие в международном фестиваль поп-музыки Георга Григориу, где завоевал очередной Гран При. В том же году Паша принимает участие в конкурсе Mamaia в Румынии, где занимает первое место в креативной секции с песней Андрея Тудора "You Do Not See The Sky". Обладатель первой премии конкурса "Славянский базар" в городе Витебск, занял второе место на фестивале "Golden Voices". | - Hello, Pasha! First of all our congratulations for being
selected the representative of Moldova in Eurovision 2012! What do you feel now, being
Eurovision contestant? - Good day! Thank you for your congratulations! What can I say about my feelings after winning the national selection, is the fact that they were a long awaited for me. This is the fourth year in a row, when I participate in the Eurovision Song Contest preselection in the country, the last three of which were solo entries. I am very pleased that, finally, one of my goals has been achieved. But it immediately gave rise to a new goals, related to the performance in Baku. Of course, I feel pride, and responsibility, and pleasant excitement before the trip to Azerbaijan. - So what is your aim for the contest in Baku? - First of all, in this case I want to be remembered with my performance throughout Europe! I plan to perform on a highest quality level, so that in the future I can with pleasure and pride look back to this period of my life. - So, as you're not for the first time running for Eurovision Song Contest, what is do you think about this show, in general? - For me the national selection for Eurovision has always been associated with such concepts as a great show, high-quality performance, maximum training, the successful promotion of the song, staging pf the presentation, ideal live performance. Here in Moldova there are not a lot of musical events of this scale and quality. So it's no surprise that almost every artist does not want to miss it. This is a strong catalyst for the Moldovan pop music, which has a positive effect on the development of musical culture. - Was it difficult to win at the national final? Whom have you seen as a main competitor? - Let me tell you, that to win was not difficult more difficult than not to win in the previous years. Every time I made every effort and every time I was hoping that it will bring me what I want. This year I have been following on the same paved footpath as I did for three years, which, fortunately, at the fourth year, has led me to victory. Each year in the national final there are very strong contenders for the victory. They are good musicians, some of which have very known names on the Moldovan music scene, and the other are a very talented newcomers, and others are flamboyant personalities. I do not underestimate any of these categories, despite the fact that the favorites of the public are usually determined long before the final date. As before, each year of participation in the national selection was bringing me second and third places, I thought that the hardest part was to make no worse than in previous years. My main competitors were my previous successes, which obliged me to do a better result. - So what do you think has helped primarily to win this time? - I think that the important role was played by the experience that I had accumulated in the previous national selections and other international music competitions. It brought me the trust of fellow citizens, and professional musicians who made up the jury. And of course, a big role was played by my thirst for the victory! - How would you describe your song in the one sentence? - The song "Lautar" is ironic love story on the merger of two very different worlds - luxurious, aristocratic, and the Balkan-music one. - Can you tell us the story of its creation? Was it written specifically for the contest? - Generally speaking "Lautar" was first written in Romanian, and the lyrics were slightly different from its English version, although the essence remains the same. The Romanian version is sung about Lautar's son, who like his father, is a musician. Falling in love with the daughter of a wealthy truce, the main character tries to attract her attention, promises to become a superstar and make her a queen, if only she agrees to be with him. Interestingly, the Romanian version has not yet been released, since I became interested in making it's transformation into a Eurohit :) I thought the music and ironic theme of song may be liked by the Europeans as well as my countrymen. The latter have liked it indeed, so now it remains to find out the opinion of Europe! - But why you've decided to keep an Romanian title, while singing in English? - I decided to sing in English so that European viewers of Eurovision are able to understand what my song. I want to introduce my listeners (if they did not know that before) with Lautarii, which is an interesting character in the Moldavian cultural heritage.The name of the song is fairly universal and even epic. It comes from the stringed musical instrument - "Lauta", and meant musicians playing on it. But these days the word "Lautar" is used to call the different categories of folk artists. Here in Moldova is famous orchestra of folk music "Lautarii", which is one of the cultural heritages of our country. Also, there is a historical figure - Lautars Barbu, who once (or rather, in the early 19th century) was a virtuoso musician, the first head of the guild of fiddlers of the Moldavian Principality. And then there is the famous movie "Lautarii", filmed in 1971 by the famous Moldovan film director Emil Loteanu. The film tells an interesting love story, which in 1988 has inspired the Sicilian folk music group to borrow the title "Lautari" for their ensemble. So, as you can see, the word "Lautar" is quite common, and for connoisseurs of musical culture, it is not new. I believe that in this context, the word "Lautar" has a very strong positive energy. - So do you plan to release the versions of your song in other languages, remixes? - For sure I will release Romanian, the original version of the song. I think my countrymen should like it! - Do you plan to visit other countries before the competition? Generally, do you will find a promo-tour important for the contest promotion? - I have a list of planned visits to promote my song at the Eurovision. However, as there is very little time, about a month, I realize that I do not have time to visit all the countries that I want to go to. I think it is important to show myself in advance live to the people who will be determining the winner at the contest. - Tell us about your preview clip? - This promotional video I shot during one of my performances in one of the clubs in Chisinau. I wanted to get to introduce the audience to my team, which rocks the hall! On stage with me were my backing singers and musicians- instrumentalists. - Will your stage performance in Baku be similar to what we've seen in the selection round? Or do you plan to make any changes for the international audience? - I think to bring something new to Baku, but so far I do not want to disclose the cards. But soon, I will lift the veil of secrecy and give some hints about my show. - What do you think is more important for Eurovision success: song, artist, or the show? - Eurovision Song Contest is very unpredictable. Sometimes, victory goes to the person who presented the most extraordinary show, such as in the case of the band "Lordi". Sometimes the winner is the most charismatic performer and charismatic song, as was the case with Alexander Rybak. The victory of Lena Meyer shows that you can win, completely abandoning the show. So it is difficult to guess or predict what Europe will enjoy this time. Even the bookies odds last year were far from the actual results. I, in my turn, believe that it all depends on the song that you present to Europe. After all, it will call for the show itself. However, it is always necessary to perfect the performance. - Eurovision is sometimes labeled as a political contest. Do you consider it as such? - This phenomenon is observed every year. But I believe that the greatest number of points will still get the best song in conjunction with the best show, and not representative of the country, which has the most generous neighbors :) - Have you heard the songs competing for other countries? Do you have some personal favorites? - Of course, I got acquainted with the other competitors, and have determined for myselves the favorites. However, I realize that success can be achieved also by those performers who are not in the list of my personal preference. And this may be due to non-standard songs, original show, which I have not seen yet, or as a reaction of a protest note to this or that idea, as was the case with the group "Lordi" - Russia sends to the contest group "Buranovskiye Babushki", have you seen their performance, and what is your opinion about it? - I think it's original decision. At a minimum, they will definitely be distinguishable from the rest of the contestants. I am sure that in every village, every town there is own group like "Buranovskiye Grannies" of grandfathers who would have looked originally in the context of Eurovision. But I can't help calling Russia's decision to entrust to one of these groups honor to represent themselves in Baku as courageous. - Let's talk briefly about your career. What do you consider as the main highlight of it? - I managed to take part at many international music competitions, and every victory is important for me and formed myself as an artist, as a person. But the most coveted competition for me was Eurovision. And as for the highlight of my career - I am sure this is yet to come! - You have participated in various contests, do you like the spirit of competition? - Yes, this is one of my favorite roles! It is a perpetual race for first place, the sweetness of victory, continuous professional development, more and more interesting acquaintances, friends from around the world. That's how I like to live! - Are you planning any releases before the Eurovision Song Contest, may be to release an album? - I do not like to sum up the results of my work by a certain date. Usually it affects the quality and is transformed into more responsibility than the expression itself. Let everything run by its course. April 29th in Brussels Pasha took part in the event "Primavara Romaneasca",
organized by the Romanian diaspora in Belgium. Unlike other participants, representatives
of their countries in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, who have performed 1-2 songs, Pavel
gave a mini-concert as did a group from Romania, "Mandinga". The audience
greeted Moldovan artist very warmly and had shown great kindness and knowledge of the
Pasha's repertoire. From his side, Pasha made it possible for fans to show their vocal
abilities and sing along with him. The next day Pavel took part in the live-TV show on local television, along with representatives from Greece and Switzerland. All the artists were involved in the conversation, devoted to the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest. Pasha insisted that he should be provided with technical ability to perform his song live in studio with guitar accompaniment. "As the best thing I can do - is to sing, I have decided therefore to pass my message to the viewers in this way," - commented Pavel on his decision. By the way, on the guitar he was accompanied by his compatriot Stefan Haji, who now lives in Brussels. When asked about what Pasha does value the most in the concerts, he replied: "Thanks to the tour, we had the opportunity to get acquainted with other participants. Паша настоял на том, чтобы ему предоставили техническую возможность для исполнения своей композиции live в студии под гитарный аккомпанемент. Pasha Parfeny has visited neighbouring Bucharest. He has appeared there in a show
Confesiuni on TVR2, hosted by Juliana Marciuc. Pasha said he feels at home in Romania:
"Usually artists do a tour before the contest. You might thing that I'm doing it now,
but I came to Romania to friends, not for PR... it's not my first time in Bucharest, I
feel at home here". Pasha has also noted some similarities between Romanian and Moldovan entries: "This year both Romania and Moldova continue Balkan traditions, in my song and in song of Mandinga there are folk infuences. Some like this kind of music, some don't. But you can't please everyone anyway. So let us enjoy our local music! I think that Eurovision should go cheerfully, without emotions - they do not help anything. To be a good artist, we need to know priorities. And my priority is to get on the stage to sing". Pasha Parfeny is known to Romanian audience as winner of Grand Prix in 2009 George Grigoriu festival in Braila and also took part same year in "Golden Stag" and Mamaia. The artist spent in Bucharest two days appearing on various TV and radio programs. Now, the singer is planning a series of live appearance with promotion of his Eurovision entry, where he will play different version of Lautar, accompanied with guitar. Георга Григориу 2009 в Браиле, а также в том же году принимал участие в "Golden Stag" и Мамайе. Артист провел в Бухаресте два дня, за которые принял участие в различных теле и радиопрограммах. Сейчас певец планирует серию живых выступлений с промоушеном своей конкурсной песни, на которых будет исполняться другая, гитарная версия песни Lautar. | 30/03 Moldovan police has identified the person who was
responsible for false copyright claims that lead to blocking on the Youtube videos of
numerous Moldovan artists, including Eurovision 2012 entry "Lautar" by Pasha
Parfeny. According to Adviser of the Minister of Home Affairs, Eugeniu Onica, he is a
young artist, Ian Ceban, aged 22, who wanted to fight this way against his rivals.
Individual was identified after two days ago director of NGO "Union of Professional
Performers" Nelly Ciobanu has filed a complaint of alleged offense, that resulted in
violation of copyright and related rights to the sections of Information Technologies and
Crime Investigations at the Prosecutor General office. During investigation it was discovered that in March a person using different accounts on the Youtube website has claimed the right of different videos published on the website and has appealed to administration of Youtube to block videos published by several local performers and their user accounts as violating his copyrights. Investigators got access to the IP addresses that were connected to usage of several mailboxes on which Youtube accounts, originating false claims, have been registered. Together with Internet operator, the identity of the person behind these IP addresses has been discoverd. Yesterday, authorized searches have been carried out in the appartment of this person in Chisinau, laptop and other related objects taken for additional analysis. The person will be fined in amount of around 100 Euros for his offenses. |

назад директор неправительственной организации
"Союз профессиональных исполнителей" Нелли
Чобану подала официальную жалобу о вероятном
преступлении, приведшим к нарушению авторских и
смежных прав, в отделы Информационных Технологий
и Уголовных Расследований Генеральной
Прокуратуры страны. За время расследования было установлено, что в марте, данный человек, используя различные аккаунты на сайте Youtube, провозгласил себя обладателем авторских прав на ряд видеоклипов, опубликованных на этой платформе, и обратился с жалобой администрации сайта для того, чтобы заблокировать видео, размещенные рядом местных исполнителей, а также их аккаунты, как якобы нарушающие его права. Следователи получили доступ к IP адресам, которые были связаны с несколькими почтовыми ящиками, на которые были зарегистрированы аккаунты Youtube, с которых поступали ложные жалобы. Вместе с интернет-провайдером, по данным адресам была установлена личность пользователя. Вчера, в его квартире в Кишиневе был произведен обыск, для исследования были конфискованы ноутбук и ряд других предметов. Нарушитель будет подвергнут штрафу в районе 100 евро за свои преступления. |

Youtube drama for Pasha Parfeny. The music video for the Moldovan entry Lautar has
appeared to be good. So good that some anonymous rivals of the artist probably being
afraid of the video to top the Youtube charts, have started submitting fake copyright
notifications to the video network... During the past several days music video and live performance videos has been taken down by Youtube from both official EBU Eurovision channel and Pasha Parfeny's own channel, as well as from ESCKAZ, who had the exclusive first publication of the video and others. Several accounts have been blocked completely, provided it was 3rd copyright claim against them, and others have been restricted in ability of uploading "unlisted" videos and videos longer than 15 minutes. The claims came from a person named Liviu Tostogan, with e-mail on free e-mail hosting electramusic@mail.ru , and company name "UniMax S.D.N Company Electra Music". Investigation run by the affected sites has showed there is no such person or company involved in production of the video and all rights for the music video belong to Moldovan broadcaster TRM. The company is considered to be "ghost" and names mentioned - fake. The only place, where this video, and other videos of the Moldovan artists affected (Geta Burlacu, Natalia Gordienko, Adrian Ursu, Katy Rain and others) still appears, is the Facebook group and Youtube channel "ModeratorVideoMusic". The channel provides no contacts except for another mail on the same free hosting: contactmusicvideo@mail.ru Both EBU and broadcaster TRM are believed to be running the investigation, however, according to Youtube regulations it may take 10 days before counter-claims are processed and videos are restored. |

Ряд аккаунтов, для которых это предупреждение стало третьим были заблокированы полностью, а остальные были ограничены в правах пользования сетью - в частности в загрузке видео "не в списке" и клипов длиной более 15 минут. Жалобы на размещение видео поступили от некоторой персоны по имени Ливиу Тостоган, c e-mail, расположенном на бесплатном хостинге electramusic@mail.ru , и именем компании "UniMax S.D.N Company Electra Music". Исследование, проведенное пострадавшими сторонами, показало, что такая личность или такая компания, которая могла бы быть вовлечена в создание видеоклипа не существует, и все права на него принадлежат молдавской телерадиокомпании ТРМ. Компания является "призраком", а упомянутое имя - "фальшивкой". representative of Moldova Pasha Parfeny continues to prepare for the Eurovision 2012. On
Saturday, March 17, in the City Club was held a shooting of a video presentation of the

In the song "Lautar" (a name used in Moldova in past to the violinists, who were playing at weddings) Pasha sings about a guy who is surrounded by women from high society, but he tries to win only one of them. For her will sound the Balkans motives with the national Moldovan color. Pasha is the author of the lyrics and music of his new hit. At the beginning the song was written in Romanian. But specifically for the Eurovision contest Pasha finalized it and translated it into English. Pasha thinks that he not only can qualify to the finals, but also enter the top three. He plans to beat the record of the Moldovan participations at "Eurovision". Prior to that, the Moldovan star will go on a promo tour. On the day of the semi-finals fans of Pasha Parfeny will gather at the Great National Assembly Square - there will be installed screens with live broadcast of the contest. |

broadcaster has named 20 entries to take part in the national preselection set for March
11th. Professional jury has included: Olga Ciolacu (singer), Igor Dinga (producer and composer), Valentin Boghean (instrumentist, actor and composer), Tatiana Cerga (singer), Andrei Sava (composer), Victoria Tcacenco (professor at the Music, Theatre and Fine Arts Academy) and Dana Argint (Orange Moldova representative). This year public will be able to vote and choose 1 more entry for the final (February 1-12) from the list of non-qualifiers. Mariana Mihaila – "Live on forever" has been chosen as wild-card. On 20th of February it was announced that Nelly Ciobanu has withdrawn due to personal reasons. She was replaced by Akord band. |

list includes entries from Nelly Ciobanu (written by Belarusian Evgeny Oleinik), SunStroke
Project & Olia Tira, Geta Burlacu, as well as songs from Pasha Parfeni, Corina Cuniuc,
Cristina Croitoru, Doinita Gherman and Ruslan Taranu. Among the songwriters are Ralph
Siegel and Bernd Meinunger, David Bryan from Hotel FM, Greek Gorgi, Cypriot Michalis
Antoniou and Andreas Anastasiou. Applications were accepted from local performers (nationality of songwriters is not specified) till January 16th. After that on 25th and 29th of January a live auditions will take place, where 20 finalists will be shortlisted. Also, as videos from auditions will be published online, this year public will be able to vote and choose 1 more entry for the final (February 1-12). The names of chosen acts will be revealed on February 13th. |
