| The
band Lovebugs was formed by Sebastian Hausmann (bass), Adrian Sieber (guitar and vocals)
and Julie (drums) in 1992, when the band entered "Basel Band Contest", a talent
competition. A year later, drummer Julie left the group while Sebastian and Adrian begun
working on their first CD "Flugg". Immediately after, the new drummer, Simon
Ramseier, was added to the band. In 1995 Lovebugs went on tour while working for the second album "Tart". In 1996 they had the first song in charts, single "Fantastic" from "Lovebugs" album. In 1998 band is joied by another guitarist Thomas Rechberger. In 2000 the band then produced their fourth album "Transatlantic Flight", and finally the breakthrough came. The album has rised to the third place in Swiss charts and ensured completely sold-out concert halls. In 2001, the fifth album "Awaydays" gets to number 1 in charts. Sebastian departs to start own glam-rock project "Fucking Beautiful". Florian Senn on bass and Stefan Wagner at the keyboard are added to the band. In 2003 the album "13 Songs With a View" charts at No. 8. The next successful album called "Naked" was recorded live and unplugged, and released in 2005. It immediately tops the charts. In June 2006 Lovebugs released the album "In Every Waking Moment" which also ranked 1 of the Swiss Album Charts listing. Also, the two singles "The Key" (ranked 17) and "Avalon," a duet with Lene Marlin (ranked 10) were placed for a few weeks in charts. After that band takes a break, and Adrian Sieber realizes his own project as Adrian Solo. To mark their 15th birthday, the five piece band Lovebugs proudly present their tenth album. From 24th of January till 28th of March band will be on their Swiss tour. Welcome at the crossroad of pop, indie, disco and rock -- it's the Lovebugs. | 21/02Swiss band Lovebugs will perform "The
Highest Heights" in Moscow as confirmed tonight by 20 minutes and official SF site.
Special version is being prepared for the contest. Earlier, ESCKaz has reported that song for Eurovision will be taken from the new album of the band and the title track "The Highest Heights" seemed to be an obvious choice also backed by fan voting in a special pall. "The song is very important to us because it affects the virtues of the band represents", says singer Adrian Sieber. He describes "The Highest Heights" as a simultaneously hypnotic, melancholic and full of energy. Newspaper jokes that the text of the song is an excellent fit to the venture, Eurovision Song Contest: "Will you catch me when I fall from the highest heights?", sings Sieber. Now the singer has responsibility to work more on his vocals for Moscow. The "Ooh-Ooh" part in the choruses will be sang by the all band members. "That is something they are not accustomed to, but we will manage it safely" Sieber promised. Surprisingly, Sieber also announced to take several vocal lessons specially for the Eurovision from "Music Star" Vocal Coach Robin D. and other experienced vocal coaches. "We need some tips for TV performances", he expained.  The song will be at the radiostations tomorrow and will be available as a

ночью газета 20 minutes и официальный
сайт телеканала. Для конкурса готовится
специальная версия этой песни. Ранее,
ESCKaz сообщал, что песня для Евровидения будет
выбрана из треков нового альбома группы и
заглавный трек "The Highest Heights" является

participation of Lovebugs has been officially confirmed by SF in the Glanz & Gloria show
on SF1. "Our music will remain the same", told band's frontman Adrian Sieber. He also promised that band will give it's best and they are really looking forward to the contest. "Anyway, we can not score less than 0 points", ironically mentioned singer. Spokesperson of SF Marco Meroni added that "they will be excellent representatives". "Already 10 years ago I've decided that we should join Eurovision. Personally, I've been following this contest since childhood. It just took a while to convince other band members! We do not promise extra dances and choreography on stage. We will stay those Lovebugs that everyone knows", informed singer of the band. The song, which the band will perform at the contest has not yet been announced. However, Adrian has confirmed that this is one songs from the album "The Highest Heights" to be released next Friday. The final confirmation of song and it's presentation is expected in mid-February. According to DRS poll, it is, however, very likely that title song of the album, "The Highest Hights" will be an Eurovision entry.  18/01 Today, Swiss tabloid Blick reports that poprock band from Basel Lovebugs will represent country in the contest in
Moscow. According to the newspaper five persons jury have selected the band for the
contest earlier this month. However, the paper was unable to receive confirmation from the
leader of the band Adrian Seibel, who rejected to comment on this question. Newspaper states, that from 55 entrants only few candidates have met a criteria, being Swiss artists with stage experience, whose songs were listed in hit-charts and who have an international reach. Among them were Gola, who was considered last year and rejected, rock band Gotthard that stated the competition is unsuitable for them, and Francine Jordi who already represented country seven years ago. Newspaper hints that the task is not an easy one. No artist with
Swiss nationality has managed since 1991 to enter top 10 in the competition, among them
even was DJ Bobo. Now, Swiss fans can hope that the change in the rules will bring a
better prospects for a Swiss entrant. |
