The Tremendous Trio are: Aleksandra Kurusova, Janis Vaisla, Roberto Meloni With a Swedish song titled "Wolves of the Sea", this almighty team calling themselves the "Pirates of the sea" will represent Latvia at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade, Serbia Janis Vaisla – a traveller who on the yacht „Milda” made a journey around the world. This friendly Latvian pirate has sung in a choir for 11 years and he has mastered the virtuoso art of playing piano. He is a director and a host of both – television and radio programmes. Wolves of the Sea is a story about the historical endeavours of our ancestors, and tells of their backbreaking lives, rebellious spirit, freedom, masculinity and tenderness while showing their patriotism and love for the planet earth, and an unquenchable thirst for adventure. |

предлставят на Евровидении 2008 Латвию с песней
"Морские волки" шведских авторов. Роберто Мелони - популярный певец, всегда активный на сцене, которого обожает публика. С 2002 года итальянец Роберто живет в Латвии. В 1997 году он принял участие в конкурсе "Una voce per Sanremo" в Италии. В 1997 году в составе группы Bonaparti.lv он уже принимал участие в финале конкурса Евровидение в Хельсинки. Он также участвовал в латвийских постановках таких мюзиклов как "Сокровища Робинзонов", "Вест-сайдская история" и "Les Miserables". Роберто также был финалистом латвийской версии шоу "Танцы со звездами". Александра Курусова - многократная чемпионка Латвии по бальным танцам. В настоящее время она - студентка факультета филологии Латвийского университета. В 2007 году она победила на латвийской версии "Танцев со звездами". В настоящее время она также является хореографом группы "Морских пиратов". Янис Ваишла - путешественник, который совершил кругосветное плавание на яхте "Мильда". week, Pirates of the Sea aimed their ship to Sweden meet their friends. Swedes are known
as travelling, sailing and adventurous people, so the Latvian Pirates hoped to find some
similar interests and get some "diamonds" in form of media attention. As you know, the fathers of "Wolves of the Sea" are Swedish and they in close cooperation with Westin Promotion AB have made an itenary for the Pirates. During their 2 day tour to Stockholm, Pirates of the Sea met Swedish media representatives, radio Mix Megapol took the Godfather like care promoting the song *Wolves of, but Gylleneskor.se, Metro, Aftonbladet, SVT, Mastiff Media, Expressen, Skargardsradion surrounded Pirates as friendly aunts and cousins promissing to spread the word about them. By the way, knowing that Latvian Eurovision entrants have managed to surprise the audience every year, you would not be too surprised if that Pirates of the Sea feels very comfortable on ice as well. Right? It happened to be a ice hockey game where Latvia played with Sweden while Pirates visited Stockholm. (How symbolic! What a coincedence!) Pirates cheered up the hockey players and the audience by their song. |

этой неделе Морские Пираты направили свой
корабль к берегам Швеции. Шведы также известны
как путешественники, моряки, любящие приключения,
поэтому латвийские пираты надеялись найти общие
интересы и завоевать несколько "бриллиантов"
в виде внимания СМИ. Как известно, авторы "Wolves of the Sea" - шведы и они тесно сотрудничают с компанией Westin Promotion AB, которая и разработала программу пребывания Пиратов в Швеции. За два дня в Стокгольме Морские Пираты встретились с представителями СМИ, радио Mix Megapol, как крестный отец взяло на себя раскрутку конкурсной песни, а Gylleneskor.se, Metro, Aftonbladet, SVT, Mastiff Media, Expressen, Skargardsradion окружили Пиратов как дружелюбные тети и кузены, обещая рассказать миру о их приключениях. Поскольку, каждый год представители Латвии на Евровидении удивляют чем-то новым, для вас не будет удивительным, что Морские Пираты также весьма уверенно чувствуют себя на льду. Как оказалось, в день пребывания Пиратов в Стокгольме хоккейная команда Латвии встречалась со сборной Швеции (Как символично! Какое совпадение!). Пираты поприветствовали хоккеистов и аудиторию исполнив свою песню. |

broadcaster LTV has announced complete line-up of the performers which will take part in
national selection Eirodziesma 2008. 20 songs taking part in preselection have been chosen in the early December by international jury which including Sopho (Georgia), 4FUN (Lithuania), Christer Bjorkman (Sweden), Bonaparti.lv, Kaspars Zavileiskis (Latvia), Adam Klein (UK). However, according to regulations of preselection, composers whose songs were performed on demo by foreign artists had to find Latvian performers or co-performers for these songs. Line-up included songs of Swedish Thomas Thrnholm, Kjell Jennstig, Mikael Erlandsson, Ann-Charlott Gensler, Jonas Liberg and Norwegian Knut-Oyvind Hagen. Two singers of Bonaparti.lv, which represented Latvia at ESC 2007, make a comeback this year: Andris Erglis as solo singer, and Roberto Meloni as member of Pirates of the sea. The nearest schedule of Eirodziesma 2008 includes shooting videos in Essential club in Riga (21st-23rd of January). On Wednesday evening when shootings will be complete it will be decided how songs will be divided into semifinals, which will be broadcasted on February 2nd and 9th. Final of 10 songs will take place on March 1st, 2008 in Olympic Hall of Ventspils. You can listen to the participating songs here |

участников национального отбора Eirodziesma 2008. 20 песен, принимающих участие в отборе были выбраны в начале декабря международным жюри, в которое вошли: Софо (Грузия), 4FUN (Литва), Кристер Бьоркман (Швеция), Bonaparti.lv, Kaspars Zavileiskis (Латвия), Адам Клейн (Великобритания). Однако, согласно правилам национального отбора, композиторы, чьи песни в демо-версиях исполнялись иностранными артистами должны были найти латвийских исполнителей или со-исполнителей своим песням. В отборе примут участие песни шведов Thomas Thrnholm, Kjell Jennstig, Mikael Erlandsson, Ann-Charlott Gensler, Jonas Liberg и норвежца Knut-Oyvind Hagen. Два участника группы Bonaparti.lv, представлявшей Латвию на Евровидении 2007, возвращаются на национальный отбор: Андрис Эрглис в качестве сольного исполнителя и Роберто Мелони как участник группы Pirates of the sea. 21-23 января в рижском клубе Essential пройдет запись видеоклипов всех участников конкурса.
