is the largest arena in the region. It is placed in the attractive area of New Belgrade
and is ideally located to become a regional centre for organizing the most attractive
manifestations. It was originally built to host sports events, but concerts, fairs,

| The
press centre and Euroclub of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest will be located at the Sava Centre, Milentija Popovica 9, tel. 220 60 00.
Press centre opens on Saturday, the 10th of May at 9:00. The first rehearsals start on
Sunday, the 11th of May. The press centre closes on the 25th of May at 14:00. On rehearsal
days, the press centre is open between 8:30 and midnight, and until 4:00 after live shows.
RTS provides shuttle busses running from the official hotels to the Belgrade Arena and the Sava Centre, free of charge for accredited guests of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. The walking distance between the Sava Centre and the Belgrade Arena is about 20 minutes, and for those who prefer fast transportation a shuttle service is available. Busses will leave every 10 minutes. Sava Centar is the largest conference, cultural and business centre in Serbia as well as one of the largest in Europe. Its activity includes organization of conference and all the types of artistic gatherings and manifestations. Built in 1977, Sava Centre represents a modern complex situated in one of the most attractive parts of Belgrade, only five minutes away from the city centre and 15 minutes away from Belgrade’s airport by car. The following services and facilities will be available in the Press Centre: RTS (Serbian Broadcasting Corporation) information desk, EBU information desk and office, Fan Club desk, Lost and Found desk, Print distribution, two press working areas with 300 desktop computers and Internet connection and three rooms with 210 connections for Internet for laptops, 50 telephones, fax and copying service, PF working area with 20 desktop computers, 80 lockers for storing TV equipment, three open studios for interviews, paramedics, cafe and restaurant. Radio reporters will have the ISDN lines at disposal for submitting their reports. Free SIM cards by Telekom Srbija will be distributed at the Press center to everyone with accreditations (regular price for these cards in newspaper stands in the city is 180 dinars). Recharge will be available to purchase as well. SMS from Serbian to Serbian card will cost around 3 Euro cents, to foreign card: 16 cents. Call from Serbian to Serbian card will cost around 8 cents per minute, to foreign around 43 cents per minute. |

| The
artists will be rehearsing on the first eight days of the contest weeks. Each artist will
take part in two rehearsals, followed by a country-specific media briefing at the Press
Centre. Public events will begin after these rehearsals. There will be three dress rehearsals for each of the semi-finals and the final before the actual broadcast show. The dress rehearsals only differ from the actual semi-final and final in that there will be no voting. All events will be hosted by Zeljko Joksimovic and Jovana Jankovic. The ten artists who go through from the semi-finals to the final will hold a press briefing late in the evening after the semi-finals (on 20th and 22nd May). A press conference is also scheduled for the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest immediately after the final on Saturday 24th May. Rehearsal schedule is available at calendar page. The delegations’ schedules include parties and promotional events. The Welcome Party takes place at the Kalemegdan Fortress on the 18th of May, starting at 20:00. In case of bad weather, the Welcome Party will be moved to the National Assembly building. On May 18th their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Princess Catherina Karadjordjevic will host a reception for Eurosong participants in White Palace. Guests will be greeted by national dances performed by cultural artistic company Lola and fashion show. On their days off, the delegations and media representatives can take part in trips coordinated by the organisers. |

репетиции, после которых даст пресс-конференции
в пресс-центре. После этих репетиций начнутся открытые концерты. Перед полуфиналами и финалом будут проводиться по три репетиции. Их отличие от основных шоу заключается только в том, что на них не будет голосования. Ведущими всех шоу будут Желько Йоксимович и Иована Янкович. 10 артистов, победителей полуфиналов проведут пресс-конференцию поздно вечером после полуфиналов 20го и 22 мая. Сразу после финала 24го мая состоится пресс-конференция с его победителем. Расписание репетиций и пресс-конференций доступно на странице календаря. В расписание делегаций входят вечеринки и другие промоционные мероприятия. Церемония открытия состоится 18го мая в форте Калемегдан в 20.00. В случае плохой погоды ее место проведения может быть перенесено в здание национальной ассамблеи. 18 мая также пройдет прием участников Евровидения в Белом Доме, который проведут принц Александр II и принцесса Катерина Караджорджевич. Гостей поприветствуют танцами в исполнении группы Lola и показом моды. В свободные от репетиций дни делегации и представители СМИ смогут принять участие в поездках по городу, разработанных организаторами. |

| Only few things
currently are known about organziation of EuroClub 2008, besides that it will be also
located in Sava Centar and will be run by OGAE Serbia, while organizers of
Beovizija - "Megaton production" will be in charge of technical stuff. On the
other side of Sava Centar will be the Press Centre, but they won't be connected from
inside, so people without accreditations, but those who will have OGAE membercards will be
able to enter EuroClub. DJs from OGAE Network will be hired to play the music. EuroClub
will be opened on May 11th and will operate till May 25th. The program in EuroClub will
begin every night at 21.00 or 22.00, depending on the parties schedule. It seems that After parties for semifinals and final will probably not take place in Euroclub, and the venue will be announced later.  EuroCafe will be
located at 5th floor of Beogradjanka, in the center of the city, in "Plato"
club. It will host delegation parties, caraoke and other events. Open from 9th till 27th
of May, every day from 10 am till the late night. Guests can expect special Eurovision
menu, discounts for OGAE card holders. First video from Eurocafe is available here.Again, a Eurovision Village will be setup and will be located in front of the Belgrade Arena. The Village is open between the 11th and 25th of May. Three help-desks, intended to inform all the fans and others more about happenings in Belgrade during Euroweek and to give answers to various questions, will be set up by OGAE Serbia. They will be situated in the Eurocafe, the Euroclub and near the Press Center. Additional one will be located at Belgrade airport, but will be open occasionally, depending on the times of arrivals of fans who have found accommodation through OGAE Serbia. |

has 49 hotels with 6,500 beds. Including about 40 hostels, as well as the hotels outside
the city, the capital offers tourists up to 16,000 beds. Each delegation has certain number of members, but their maximum number is 650. Foreign partners taking part in realization of the "Eurovision" considerably increased the number. Hotels "Hyatt", "Moskva", "Casino", "Continental", "Balkan", "Holiday Inn", "In Hotel", "Palace", "Slavija Lux", "Forest" are already fully booked. are over 120 urban and over 300 suburban bus lines, 12 tram lines in Belgrade, three of
which are connected to New Belgrade, 8 trolleybus lines and 6 minibus lines (more
expensive tickets). However, public transport in Belgrade is always crowded during rush
hour. Regular single ticket costs 29 dinars when purchased outside of vehicle and validated inside, and 40 dinars when purchased inside the vehicle. Night ticket (24.00 - 4.00) costs 69 dinars and can be purchased only inside the vehicle. As in Helsinki, public transport is free of charge for all accredited guests. City buses stop in the vicinity of the Arena include: 18, 74, 88, and 601 (two stops named Beogradska Arena stop on Carnoevica str, corner of Antifasisticke borbe or Spanskih boraca), 17, 68 (Beogradska Arena stop on Dzhindzhic boulevard) and 67 (Blok 25 stop). At Sava Centar are stops of trams 7, 7L, 9, and 11, buses 17, 18, 74, 88, 89, 94, 601 - at Carnoevic str, 95 - at Popovic str. Also nearby (on Mihail Pupin str) ar passing busses 16, 65, 67, 71, 72, 75, 77, 78, 83. From the listed buses: 16, 65, 67, 68, 71, 72, 75, 77, 95 are going to Zeleni Venac, one of major bus terminal stations in Belgrade, 7, 7L, 9, 78, 83, 601 - to Main Railway station, 72 - to Airport, 7, 7L, 74 - to Tasmajdan, 11 to Kalemegdan. Also in the vicinity of the Belgrade Arena is the New Belgrade Beovoz station (commuter train). Taxis are cheap and plentiful, and you can either stop one in the street, or call a taxi company. Taxi price chargeable is calculated according to the distance travelled but will also include (if appropriate) a waiting fee. It is customary to give a tip of ten per cent, depending on the level of satisfaction. Fares: Start: 80 dinars Price per km: 40 dinars, 52 dinars (10 pm - 6 am, Sundays, holidays) Waiting per hour: 400 dinars Airport: Belgrade is serviced by Nikola Tesla International Airport, which is located about 12 kilometers west of the city center, and is the home base of Jat Airways – Serbia's flag carrier airline – which flies to nearly 40 destinations worldwide. There are shuttle busses to the city center from the airport, operated by Jat. These will pick up and drop off passengers at the the central train station and Hotel Slavija. The fare is 160 RSD (~€2). Departure every hour between 7:00 and 22:00 (after 22:00 in connection with arrivals of Jat Airways scheduled flights) There is also city bus service to and from the airport. Line #72 GSP to Zeleni Venac in city center departs every 32 mins between 5:15 and 0:00; single ticket: 48 dinars (65 on board). The trip is around 40 minutes, but is decidedly less comfortable than a shuttle bus or taxi. Avoid taxi service being offered by drivers in the airport terminal; the drivers won't use their meters, and will charge many time the normal fare. Metered taxis can be rung in or picked up from the stand outside; make sure that you ride only in licensed cabs, which carry a little blue sign with the city coat of arms and a number on it, and insist that the trip be metered. Jankovic and Zeljko Joksimovic will present the two Semi-Finals and the Final of the 2008
Eurovision Song Contest. Jovana Jankovic, anchor of RTS' daily morning show, has extensive experience in hosting live television. She hosted both semifinal allocation and semifinal and final running order draws. Zeljko Joksimovic (35) is one of the most successful musicians in the Balkan region. In 2004, he represented Serbia & Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul, Turkey, with Lane Moje, finishing second. In 2006, he composed the Eurovision Song Contest song Lejla for Bosnia & Herzegovina, performed by Hari Mata Hari. The song finished third. Joksimovic also composed the Serbian Eurovision 2008 entry to be performed by Jelena Tomasevic.  Green Room presenters will be winners of European Face show on Serbian television Kristina Radenkovic and Branislav Katic. |

of the host broadcaster RTS has revealed additional information on organization of
Eurovision 2008. In particular, opening and interval acts for all of three evenings have been announced. Final of the concert, which will be held under the theme "Confluence" will be opened by Eurovision 2007 winner Marija Serifovic who will perform her entry "Molitva" with new arrangement, and new choreography, accompanied by 21 dancers. Interval act in the final will be performance of well-known Goran Bregovic, who with his "Orchestra for weddings and funerals" will perform three songs. First semifinal will have theme "City" and will be opened with the performance "Video killed radio star", devoted to the recent changes of the contest, which will include humouristic performances of popular Eurovision entries, including Waterloo and Volare. Interval act this day will be performance connecting modern Serbian music with jazz and funk. On stage will appear Slobodan Trkulja, band "Balkanopolis" and Dutch Metropolitan Orchestra. Second semifinal, under theme "Rivers" will be opened with the performance "Serbia for the beginners", in which through ballet performance, it is most likely that famous Konstantin Kostyukov will appear on stage, organizers will try to introduce viewers to Serbia. Interval act of the second semifinal will be performed by Belgrade theater ballet troop "Who is singing there". Organizers have totally denied the information in mass-media that one of the acts will be tribute to singer Tose Proeski. конкурса Евровидения 2008. В частности, были объявлены акты открытия и интервала всех вечеров конкурса. Финал конкурса, который пройдет под девизом "Слияние" откроет победительница Евровидения 2007 Мария Шерифович, которая исполнит песню "Молитва" в новой аранжировке и с новой хореографией с 21 танцором. Интервал актом в финале станет выступление известного музыканта Горана Бреговича, который со своим "Свадебным и похоронным ансамблем" исполнит три песни. Первый полуфинал будет выдержан в теме "Город". Откроет его выступление с названием "Видео убило радио звезд", посвященное последним тенденциям конкурса, которое будет включать в себя шуточное исполнение популярных конкурсных песен прошлых лет, включая Waterloo и Volare. Интервал актом в этот день станет выступление, связывающее традиционную сербскую музыку с джазом и фанком. На сцене должны появиться Слободан Тркуля, группа "Балканополис" и оркестр голландской метрополии. Второй полуфинал, под девизом "Реки" откроется выступление "Сербия для начинающего", где через выступление танцора балета - скорее всего им станет известный Константин Костюков, организаторы попробуют познакомить зрителей с Сербией. Интервал акт второго полуфинала будет исполнен балетом народного театра из Белграда "Кто там поeт". Организаторы опровергли появившееся ранее сообщение в СМИ, что во время конкурса одно из выступлений будет посвящено памяти певца Тоше Проевски. Касательно открыток, предваряющих выступления всех участников, было лишь заявлено, что они будут описывать не туристические красоты Сербии и Белграда, а "красоту людей", занимающихся интересными и специфическими занятиями. |

and EBU have announced first information about tickets for Eurovision 2008 in Belgrade.
For Serbians the tickets will be out on January 29th and will be available to purchase via
phone 0900 11 00 11, while international sale will be launched on January 31 at 10.00 CET
at the website www.tickets.co.yu. Until
March 15 the tickets will be sold in packages, like last year, with no more than 4
packages per person. In each packages tickets of 3 categories will be available, depending
on the seats. Packages: Package A: 12 events (Final, two semifinals and three rehearsals for each concert on day prior to each televized event at 15.00 and 21.00 and on the day of event at 15.00): Cat. I: 27400 dinar (332 Euros), Cat. II: 18600 dinar (225 Euros), Cat. III: 13400 dinar (152 Euros) Package B: 8 events (Final, one semifinal and three rehearsals for both semi finals) Cat. I: 18600 dinar (225 Euros), Cat.II: 12800 dinar (155 Euros), Cat. III: 9300 dinar (112 Euros). Buyers will also have to pay for postage delivery of the tickets. Charge for Belgrade 200 dinars, rest of Serbia 300 dinars, Europe 35 euros and rest of the world - 45 euros. Tickets for Eurovision Song Contest 2008 that have not been selled inside the package deals will be released for a single ticket sells on March 17th. However, the number of tickets for individual ticket purchase is very limited and will not include the best seats in arena - as those tickets have already been sold out in packages. Mostly, dress-rehearsals tickets will be released for the price 500-1200 dinars for semi-final rehearsals and 1000-2000 dinars for final rehearsals. In case there will be very few single tickets available for the live broadcast events they will be priced up to 5000 dinars. Tickets are available here. Special packages will be available for OGAE members. OGAE has received around 900 packages for the zones highlighted with green colour on the plan. OGAE package includes 3 live shows and 2 rehearsals to each of them. Package consts 285 Euros. Attention: currently all tickets for the final have already been sold out. Only rehearsal tickets and small number of semifinal tickets still may be available at the official sale. Be cautious when purchasing tickets from various resellers. |

Host Broadcaster RTS presented the theme art for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest,
based on the slogan The Confluence Of Sound. Colorful paint splashes and the shape of a
music key are the graphical basis of the design. "The fact that the host city, Belgrade, is located on the confluence of two big European rivers, the Danube and the Sava, served as inspiration for the theme art of the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest," said Sandra Susa, Executive Producer of the event. Earlier, RTS presented the stage design for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, which is based on the same concept. The new theme art replaces an earlier theme art concept, which won an RTS competition and which fans refer to as 'The Plum'. Belgrade will become the place where energies will meet, where ideas will be exchanged and where new values will be born. The confluence of colors and sounds served as the inspiration for the final solution. The 'marriage' of colors and energies represents the coming-together of all European nations to celebrate together the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. It also served as inspiration for our slogan: The Confluence Of Sound. It represents the coming together of not only nations, but also the music, joy and energy that they bring. The theme art features as the basis of the concept, and will also play an important role in the production of the post cards, the short introduction videos before each song during the shows. |

Оно представляет собой слияние всех Европейских наций в конкурсе Евровидение 2008. На нем также основывается и слоган "Слияние звука". Broadcaster RTS presented the creative concept behind the upcoming Eurovision Song
Contest, made by David Cushing from Chicago. You can watch the video here. Production Designer Goran
Joksimovic explained the theme for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, Confluence of
Sound, and the sub-logo of the contest. Sven Stojanovic, a Serbian living in Sweden, has
been appointed as multi-camera director of the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. He has
been involved with the contest several times, and directed the 2005 contest in Kyiv as
well. "20 camera's will be used for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, eight of
them equipped with motion-control," he explained. Per Sundin, who was heavily
involved with the organization of the 2003 contest in Riga, also joined the team in
Belgrade as light designer. He explained the choice for the German company Procon as one
of the key technical partners, adding more details to the creative concept of the show;
"The first Semi-Final will be created around a city theme, the second Semi-Final
around the theme of water, and the Final will be a mix of those." Stage, sized 675 square meters, should be completely ready by 11th of May for the first rehearsals. Total weight of technical equipment used - 72 tonns. Construction of the stage has started in UK, first works in Belgrade Arena will start on April 10th. Preliminary dimensions of the stage are 25 m depth, 24 m width. There will be 500 sq.meters of LED screens on the background, LED screens will be used also on the floor and possibly on the top of the stage, told scenografer Goran Joksimovic to "Blic". Eastern part of arena, behind the stage, will be transformed into Green Room. Stage design has been selected at special contest and transformed for the better work of TV cameras. The stage constructions will be produced in UK by the British company Stage One, responsible for the construction of ESC 2006-2007 stages. The inspiration of the stage is based on the geographical location of Belgrade which is at the confluence of two rivers. "We will try to show two rivers joining each other as they become one on the stage" says Goran Joksimovic. "It symbolizes a mix and clash of cultures in Europe but during Eurovision all cultures will be joined by the confluence" says Joksimovic. "The effect of the rivers will be made possible by see-through LCD screens which will be located around the Arena from top to bottom".
