Born on 14 May 1981 in London, Sarbel is a Cypriot singer of half Lebanese origin. He was raised in the British capital, where he was initiated into the world of music and dancing. Being only 22 years old, Sarbel's CV already numbered leading roles at the English National Opera and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, as well as in programmes run by BBC and Channel 4 on plays including "The Prince and the Goose Girl," Carmen," "Toska," "Turandot" and "The Merchant of Venice" by William Shakespeare. At the age of 18, Sarbel decided to visit Crete, where he worked for more than seven months, singing ABBA, Blues Brothers, among others, at the Herakleion Palladium. Thanks to his Cretan friends, Sarbel rediscovered Greece, the Greek folk dances and customs, which he had learned from his father. Some three years later, and after having started singing professionally in London's Greek night clubs, Sarbel took the plunge to fly back to Greece. A rather accidental meeting with musician Panagiotis Stergiou and producer Giannis Doulamis led his steps to Sony BMG Records and the release of his first single entitled "Se Pira Sovara" in the spring of 2005. His first solo album under the title "Parakseno Synaisthima" followed, and soon went gold. Along with Greek singer Eirini Merkouri, who had a duet with him, gave concerts in Greece, Cyprus and the USA. He released "Sahara", his second album, in the summer of 2006. In the meantime, he recorded a splendid duet with Natassa Theodoridou called "Na Soun Thalassa", and he then performed with her and established Greek singer Giannis Parios at the Iera Odos music hall in the 2005-2006 winter. In the summer of 2006, he held concerts along with Antonis Remos in Southern Africa and Thessaloniki. A host of concerts along with up-and-coming singer Vanessa Adamopoulou in Greece and Cyprus followed, while he is currently performing at Fever with Nikos Makropoulos. He has already recorded a duet with Sweden's pop star Cameron entitled "Mi Chica," in Spanish, English and Greek. His new album is due to be released in the spring of 2007. Marcus Englof (music) Marcus ENGLOF started playing the guitar at a very young age. He studied music in numerous respectable academies, while at the same time he studied sound engineering and production. He turned down the offer by a big record company to sign a contract for his own solo album, and decided to collaborate with Andreas CARLSSON, and produce records by artists such as BON JOVI and Paul STANLEY (Kiss). He later became acquainted with Alex PAPACONSTANTINOU, and together they joined forces to write successful hits for both Swedish and Greek artists. Alex PAPACONSTANTINOU (music) Alex PAPACONSTANTINOU was born in Stockholm in 1979. A bouzouki given to him by his father was an initiative for him to start pursuing a career in music. He studied in the finest musical academy in Sweden, and returned to Greece to work in Giorgos AlKAIOS' ensemble. With the certainty that he should start composing music, Alex went back to Sweden and wrote big hits for famous artists like Helena PAPARIZOU, Cheb KHALED, Anna VISSI, Aurelie KONATE, and Cameron CARTIO. Mack (lyrics) The 29 year old Mack lives in Sweden. Mack has already been working for 10 years as a successful composer and as the head of an independent Swedish record company, called TEN. He has written songs for successful artists such as A TEENS, Helena PAPARIZOU, Luis FONSI, and for many of the winners of successful talent shows across Europe. After tabloids had their time announcing daily new "already selected composers and performers for Greece" ERT has held the official press-conference today. Open national selection will feature 3 singers taking part in it. They are: Tamta, Sarbel and Christos Dantis. No songtitles were announced. Special press-conference to present participating songs will be held on February 7th. National final will take place on February 28th at Athinion Arena music hall.	После того как желтая пресса вдоволь порезвилась объявляя тех или иных исполнителей и композиторов уже официально выбранными и утвержденными представителями Греции на Евровидении 2007 телекомпания ЕРТ сегодня провела официальную пресс-конференцию на которой сообщила, что в отборе участие 3 исполнителя: Tamta, Sarbel и Christos Dantis. Названия их песен пока не оглашены. Специальная пресс-конференция, на которой будут представлены участвующие песни будет проведена 7го февраля. Национальный финал назначен на 28 февраля.
