| Gerli
Padar has been under discussion fairly much, both in Estonia and abroad. She started to
sing in early childhood; victories in the song contests of the Estonian Television,
"Laulukarussell ‘94" ("The Roundabout of Song ‘94") and "Kaks
takti ette ‘97" ("Two Times Forward ‘97"), brought along recognition.
Gerli has studied in Jazz Gymnasium in Sweden. Gerli has sung twice (1999 and 2002) in the Estonian national final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Gerli has played the leading roles in the musicals Cabaret and Chess. She has participated in many a gala performance: A. L. WEBBER's gala, Memory, the Opera Gala, performed together with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. She has hosted many TV shows and danced to the final of the popular TV show, "Dancing With The Stars". She is bringing up a 2.5-year-old daughter, Amanda Rebeca. Backing vocals will be sung by the pupils of the singing studio of the Estonian Television, Mirjam MESAK and Johanna MUNTER, having participated several times in the song contests of the ETV. Together with Gerli, also the best Estonian competitive dancers, Martin PARMAS, Aleksandr MAKAROV and Marko KIIGAJAAN, having won a number of medals in World Championships, European Championships and World Cups, will be performing. |

broadcaster ETV has revealed full line-up for Eurolaul 2007. Estonian national final will
take place on February 3rd, 2007. 10 songauthors were invited by organizers to take part
in competition. |

ETV decided to invite composers to take part in Eurolaul, instead of running an open
submission. Here are the names of 10 invited composers: Koit Toome (ESC 1998), Lenna Kuurmaa (Vanilla Ninja, ESC 2005), Soul Militia (known until 2002 as 2XL, ESC 2001), Priit Pajusaar & Glen Pilvre (Tii authors, ESC 2004, Diamond of The Night ESC 1999 also Carola Szucs, Kadi Toom), Sven Lohmus (producer of Suntribe ESC 2005 and Vanilla Ninja), Alar Kotkas & Pearu Paulus & Ilmar Laisaar (authors of Sandra 2006, Sahlene 2002 and Ines 2000 entries), Elmar Liitmaa (worked with Glow, Terminaator, Vanilla Ninja), Hendrik Sal-Saller (Smilers, Estonian Dream Big Band), Ines (ESC 2000) and Kristjan Kasearu (Elav legend). Interestingly, there is no place in the list for Ivar Must, composer of only Estonian winning entry "Everybody". It is expected that Koit Toome, Soul Militia, Ines and Lenna Kuurmaa with Vanilla Ninja will perform own entries themselves. All entries need to be recorded and submitted to ETV by December 11th, and national selection will take place on 3rd of February. It is already announced that show will be hosted by Marko Reikop and Maarja-Liis Ilus. Winner will be decided by televoting, which will be done in 2 stages - 3 best songs from stage one will qualify to the superfinal, where winner will be selected. |
