| Mihai Traistariu, the Romanian representative in
2006 Eurovision Song Contest, together with five dancers from "Big Bounce" dance group will present, in the
finals of Eurovision Contest 2006, a show signed by CRBL,
a very appreciated Romanian choreographer. The two girls and the three boys are members of
the street-dance and break-dance group called "Big Bounce", which was initiated
by CRBL. "There will be a mix of ballet and contemporary dance elements", revealed CRBL about the show he prepared for Athens. "At first sight, we are dealing with two totally different dance styles, but in fact they are complementary and they are getting on very well", he continued. Dan Manoliu, the Head of the Romanian Delegation at Eurovision, hopes that the show will be well received by the public. "Everything that is going to happen on the stage is meant to focus on Mihai Traistariu, on his song and his voice", he also declared. Irina, Andreea, Florin, Cosmin and Robert are between 18 and 20 years old and have an impressing dance experience. They are members of the group "Big Bounce", that has won a great number of trophies in dance contests and has appeared in many musical events. The five dancers have also collaborated with a large number of top Romanian artists.  CRBL started his
career in 1994. At present he is considered one of the best choreographers in Romania,
especially in street-dance style. He has been awarded a lot of trophies in dance contests
and has worked with top artists. Besides concert choreography, videos and other events,
CRBL has also worked for advertising spots in Romania and abroad and he has also
collaborated in movie production. In 2004 he initiated his break-dance and street-dance
school, where he created the group "Big Bounce". He is also a member and the
choreographer of the first break-dance and music group, called "Simplu". |

| Mihai Traistariu finishes his promotion tour of
the song "Tornero" with a visit in Cyprus. The Romanian representative for 2006
Eurovision Contest arrives in Cyprus on Friday, May 5th, and he will stay there for three
days, while he is invited to many radio and television programmes. At the same time, the
Romanian Embassy in Cyprus organizes a special event on this occasion.
"Unfortunately, we can no longer go to other countries because we have to concentrate
on the preparatiions for our departure to Greece, as we are getting closer to the date of
the big event", says Mihai. The tour started in March, with a visit in Greece, it continued in Slovenia, Malta and Belgium, and it finishes in Cyprus. |

Кипр в пятницу, 5го мая, и пробудет там в течении 3х

организует специальную встречу по этому поводу.
"К сожалению, больше стран мы посетить не
сможем, поскольку нам надо сконцентрироваться на
подготовке к отъезду в Грецию, ведь время
конкурса уже приближается", заметил Михай. Тур начался в марте визитом в Грецию, продолжился в Словении, Мальте и Бельгии, и закончится на Кипре. |
| Mihai Traistariu continued his promotion tour of the song
"Tornero" in Europe, as well as his work as a reporter for TVR (Romanian
Television). Slovenia, Malta and Belgium were his next destinations. Similarly to his
visit in Greece, Mihai Traistariu was a reporter for TVR. Dan Manoliu, the head of the
Romanian Delegation, made a selection of the most important and entertaining of these
moments, which were broadcast in the programme "The Way to Athens", on TVR 1 on
May 1st and 3rd. As he was invited in Slovenia to participate in a successful show at the public television, Mihai learnt from one of the dancers of the show that the song "Tornero" was his favourite. Moreover, he told Mihai that "Tornero" proved to be a good therapy and he used to listen to it when he was nervous! The visit in Malta didn't lack adventures either, it only lacked… the luggage! Both Mihai and Dan Manoliu got their luggage lost at the airport. This incident didn't stop the Romanian representative in Eurovision Song Contest to take part in many radio and TV programmes and to give interviews and autographs. The luggage was also retrieved in the airport, when Mihai and the TVR crew left straight for Belgium. As arrived in Brussels, Mihai had a recital in Sainte-Catherine Square, as part of a concert organized by the Romanian community, and participated in a great show in a club in Brussels, together with Croatian and Maltese representatives. And because the promotion tour of the song "Tornero" in Belgium concurred with the Orthodox Easter, Mihai celebrated this feast with Belgians in Brussels cathedral. |

продлжил работу в качестве корреспондента
Румынского телевидения, для специального шоу
Евровидения. Следующими остановками Михая были

лучшие моменты тура, которые будут показаны на

и 3го мая. В Словении Михай принял участие в популярном шоу на национальном телевидении и один из танцоров шоу признался Михаю, что Торнеро - его фаворит на Евровидении 2006. Также он признался, что Торнеро оказывается хорошое лекарство и помогает не нервничать! Визит в Мальту не обошелся без приключений. В аэропорту Михай и Дан Манолиу оба потеряли свой багаж. Но это не помешало Румынскому конкурсанту принять участие в ряде теле и радио программ, где он дал множество интервью и автографов. Багаж был тоже найден, как раз перед отлетом Михая и команды ТВР из Мальты в Бельгию. После приезда в Брюссель, Михай принял участие в двух концертах - концерт румынской общины на площади Святой Катерины, и принял участие в клубной вечеринке, на которой помимо него были и Хорватские и Мальтийские представители. Поскольку промо-тур в Бельгии совпал с православной Пасхой, Михай отметил этот праздник в Бельгийской церкви. |

| Mihai Traistariu will be spending the Easter abroad, promoting his song
"Tornero" for the Eurovision contest. After Greece and Slovenia, he continues
his promotion tour in Malta and Belgium. "I usually spend the Easter with my family
but this time I have to make an exception in order to promote Romania’s song abroad. So,
I wish you Happy Easter and we’ll be clinking a red egg when I come back home",
Mihai said. On Friday morning, the Romanian representative at Eurovision is flying to
Malta where he’ll be staying till next day; during this time, he’ll be invited to
radio and TV shows and he’ll be giving several interviews. Saturday won’t be a relaxing day either, because Mihai leaves directly for Belgium. On Easter Day, April 23rd, he gives a musical recital during a big concert organized in Sainte Catherine Square in Brussels. The same evening, he’ll be at a party dedicated to Eurovision, organized in a club from the same city. Other Eurovision contestants will also be present to this party. Moreover, Mihai will also be giving several interviews to the Belgium mass-media. The Romanian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest continues his work as a "reporter" for TVR (Romanian Television) in which he made his "debut" with his visit to Greece. He’s always accompanied by a team from TVR and the final footage will be used in a programme broadcast by Romanian Television. |

Romanian representative in the 51st Eurovision Song Contest, Mihai Traistariu, has
finalised his preparations of his European Tour . Full dates and details of the tour is expected to be announced this week. The tour is known to cover countries such as Malta, France, Greece, Cyprus, Monaco, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Moldova etc, in total about 14 countries, starting from 20th of April. Now Mihai is preparing a national tour sponsored by COSMOTE, the main sponsor of Eurovision Song Contest in Athens. The national tour starts on 7 of April and ends at 16 of April. The tour will cover the main 10 cities of Romania. The song "Tornero" is already broadcasted in some european radio tops, like Bulgaria, Germany, Sweetzerland, Austria,Turkey ... and even in some radios in Greece. It has already 2 disco and club remixes and these versions of the song are already in clubs in Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Germany, France, Belgium and Greece. Mihai, also, is preparing an international videoclip of the song. The costs of the international videoclip will be about 50.000 euros. In a week, the original song and the 2 remixes will cover about 16 countries and more. Mihai has already issued 7 albums which were sold until now in 1.5 million copies only in Romania. He has 16 videoclips and took part in about 1500 shows in Romania and all over the world. He had about 3000 articles in romanian newspapers and magazines, about 50 posters in music magasines. He has 11 big funclubs in Romania , numbering around 24.000 fans and more... He appeared on 43 cover magazines during the 5 years of his career. He had worldwide tours in: Japan, Canada, USA., Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Moldova, Bulgaria. He took part in 6 international festivals and win 5 Grand Prix: Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Latvia and 4 special awards in Belarus (Slaviansky Bazar -2002 ). He was 3 consecutive years The Best Male Voice in Romania and he had about 11 top ten songs. 5 of his songs were number one hits radio and clubs : "Money and girls" , "To the sea, to the sun" , "Banana" , "Why" , " How beautiful you are " . Last year his song "How beautiful you are" was number one for 5 weeks on every radio station and Tv Channel ... and stayed on charts for 32 weeks. Mihai was nominated in March 2006 for Best Male singer of the year - 2005 and The hit of the year - 2005. His new album (the 8-th) will be on the market in one month and it will contain as you expected the song "Tornero". The album will have about 16 new songs. Half of the album will be in English. MIHAI is often reffered to as "The Male version of Mariah Carey" or "5 octaves" , because of his great ambitus ( the only male in the world who can sing 5 octaves ) ... Last year he was contacted from the Tv Show : Guiness Book to join the show and the contest for the Biggest Ambitus of a male voice. He join 5 times the national ESC selection and he was nr. 2,3,4,3,3 and finally number 1 this year. After winning the first place on this year's national ESC final , Mihai's managers and producers were contacted by producer and composer Ralph Siegel, the writer of this year's song of Switzerland. | Although Mihai
Traistariu was born in Piatra Neamt on 16th of December 1979, at present Mihai Traistariu
lives in Constanta. He graduated from the IT School, Iasi University, but he has been
attracted to music even since he was little. He started studying piano at the age of 7,
precisely when he started school, when his parents gave him a piano as a present.
Throughout the years, he won 18 trophies at international festivals, and in 1998 he won
second prize at the Song Contest - Mamaia Festival. In 1999, the pop band "Valahia" gets started, and Mihai joins it. Success did not arrive late. For four years and a half, Valahia performed approximately 1500 gigs at home and abroad, released six albums, and sold 500.000 copies. With such an experience, Mihai decides to embark on a solo career. In 2000, he ends up on the first place at the hit song section, Mamaia Music Festival, and in 2001 the song "La mare, la soare" becomes hit of the year. Mihai qualifies, five consecutive times, at the Eurovision Song Contest - National Selection, arriving, gradually, on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. 2002 brings him four prizes at the International Festival "Slavinsky Bazar", among which the "Alla Pugaciova" prize. In 2003 he gets an award for "Best Male Voice" at the Love Song Festival. In 2004 he receives the "Best Voice" trophy, second place for the "Best Song" section, the originality and popularity prize at the "Sunflower" International Festival, in Serbia. In the same year, he receives the trophy of the Star 2004 International Festival, in Latvia, and the Macedonian Trophy. He is nominated twice for the "Best Male Voice" category, at the Romanian Music Industry Awards. 2005 brings him the Trophy of the National Love Song Festival, and third place at the Eurovision National Selection. Mihai, and our congratulations for being selected Romanian representative at Eurovision
2006. How do you feel now, after so many attempts finally securing spot in Eurovision song
contest? - I feel great, because it's a dream come true for me. I was close to the first place in the Romanian selection for Eurovision Song Contest in 2000, 2002, in 2003 (during these yeas I was then part of the group Valahia), in 2004 and in 2005, where I sang "All the time" with Nico, who competed this year in the Romanian selection with Akcent. I just want to say that I never give up and I strongly believe that when you have a dream and you work hard for it, sooner or later it will come true. I'm the example for this. - You have been competing in Romanian preselections for 6 years in a row? Do you think this time you finally came up with the right entry? - I competed in 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. I think this time I chose the right song. I've been preparing for the Romanian selection for some time and I had to choose among eight songs. I liked "Tornero" very much. I think it has the elements for a hit. It's very catchy and easy to remember after you hear it for the first time. I hope my voice and the song will "win" the viewers. - Was it difficult to win this time? Whom did you regard as your main contenders? - Yes, I think it was a tough competition, we had good songs in our selection. I knew I would compete first of all with "Jokero", by Akcent and Nico. - Why did you decided to use bits Italian language in your song? Italy is not taking part in Eurovision contest now, is it worthy to sing in Italian? - The chorus of "Tornero" is in Italian not because it was some kind of strategy to win votes from Italy. I tried to find, together with the lyrics writers, the best sound for the song. And it's a fact that Italian is a very "musical" language. That's why we chose it. - Are you planning to record more versions of the song, as different language versions or remixes? - For the moment, I'm not planning to record versions of the song in different languages, nor remixes. Still, there will be something new about the song: we have just finished working to change it a little, to make it better, focusing both on the instrumental and the vocal part. - Have you already filmed preview video? - I worked with TVR (Romanian Television) on the video for the song. Dan Manoliu, the Head of the Romanian Delegation, was the director, actually. I like it and I hope it will be a pleasant surprise for you too. (you can now find video at http://tvr.ro/eurovision/ ) - Can you briefly introduce your team to us, songwriters, arrangers, backing singers/dancers? - The song is composed by Eduard Circota and the lyrics are written by Cristian Hriscu and Mihaela Deac. About the show on stage for the final in Athens, I don't want to tell you anything yet. We want it to be a surprise. - So you're planning to bring some changes from the way you performed in the national final? - The performance won't look the same. We are preparing something special, so that we offer a true show. I hope it will come out right and that you will like it. I can't tell you, though, what it is about. - You're not afraid to change your image and sometimes it is even difficult to recognize you, why? Will you keep the same image as you have now for the contest in Athens, or there will be more changes? - It's true, I have made some big changes regarding my image over the years. But you can't say it was difficult to recognize me. I tried to find the image that suits me best. Personally, I find all of them interesting. For the contest, we are not planning drastic changes. We will just take care that my image fits best the rest of the performance on stage. - Was there any promotional European tour already discussed? - Yes, TVR is going to organize a European tour before the contest in Athens. It has already started, with the visit to Greece. - What will be your aim in the contest, what result you will consider as good? - Of course, the first place would be the best result possible. I hope the Romanian entry will get as many points as possible. I admit that the polls I've seen on various European ESC web sites give me confidence. I see that the song and my voice are appreciated and this is very important to me. I hope things won't change in the final in Athens. - What do you think is the most important to get high scores at Eurovision? Song, performer, stage performance, promo tour or something else? - I think all of them are important. First of all, the song and the voice. I believe that you cannot sell a product that is not good. I think the viewers will give their vote for the song and the voice, but also for what they see on stage. Promotion is also important. Look at the 2005 ESC winner: everybody was singing the song, everybody in Europe knew it already. "My Number One" is a good song, performed by a good voice, with an interesting and catchy show on scene and with good promotion in Europe. It proves that everything counts. - Have you already heard any other competing songs from other countries? Are you planning to listen to all of them before the contest, or you're just concentrating on your own preparations? - Yes, I heard some most of the other entries. Not all of them, I admit. I've been very busy lately. But I want to hear all of them, of course. - Let's speak briefly on your career. What do you consider as the main highlight in it? - I began studying music when I was 7. I participated at many contests, both Romanian and international. I won many trophies. I was part of the group called Valahia, very successful in Romania for several years. I've been a solo artist since 2004. I think that representing Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest is my greatest achievement. It makes me very proud. And responsible, at the same time. - You have taken part in many international song festivals, which was the most memorable for you? - I liked it very much in Serbia. I got 4 awards and I felt very happy all the time. It was an adventure... singing and vacation at the same time. - You are performing in very different styles, what are your favourite ones? - I like all kinds of music. As long as it's quality music. - Can you name us your favourite world singers? - First of all, Mariah Carey, who inspired me in choosing this career and working so hard to reach this level. She has a fabulous voice. I also like Michael Bolton, Craig David, Usher, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Jusin Timberlake, Boyz 2 Men etc. Great singers with great voices. - Do you know any of the singers from CIS (ex-USSR) that you can name? - Alla Pugaciova gave me a special award when I was in a CIS festival. I will remember this all my life. She said: "Mihai, just sing in English. Go to America. You're a very good singer and you have a really great voice". I won't forget this. - Do you follow music industry of Romania? What do you think of the current Romanian music? - I think the Romanian show-biz industry has developed very much in the past years. Many styles, many names, many professionals are in the music field. I think we are on the right track. - And finally, if you wish to leave any message to the visitors of our site you can do it now. - Thank you very much for your interest in me, in my career and, of course, in the Romanian entry for 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, "Tornero". Я был так близок к победе в отборе в 2000, 2002, 2003 году (с группой Валахия), в 2004 и 2005 (в дуэте с Нико, которая в этом году пела с Акчентом). Я хочу сказать, что я никогда не отступаю, и я верю, что если у тебя есть мечта и ты делаешь все для ее реализации, она обязательно когда-нибудь сбудется. И мой случай тому пример. - Ты думаешь, что тебе удалось наконец найти правильную песню на Евровидение после 6 попыток подряд? - Не совсем подряд, я участвовал с 2000 года, пропустив 2001. Я думаю, что да, в этот раз я нашел именно ту песню. Я долго готовился к отбору, мы приготовили 8 песен. Мне самому очень нравится песня "Tornero", думаю у нее есть все, чтобы стать хитом. Она очень запоминающаяся и ей можно подпевать уже во время первого прослушивания. Я надеюсь, что мой голос и песня завоюют голоса телезрителей. - Тяжело было победить на этот раз? Кого ты считал своим основным соперником? - Да, думаю это было серьезное состязание, было много хороших песен. Конечно, основными соперниками были Акчент и Нико с песней "Jokero". - Почему ты решил использовать итальянский в припеве песни? Ведь Италия не принимает участия в Евровидении, имеет ли смысл петь на ее языке? - Припев "Торнеро" совсем не связан с попыткой завоевать голоса итальянцев. Я долго думал вместе с авторами текста, как нам лучше сделать припев нашей песни. И так как итальянский очень мелодичный язык, мы решили выбрать именно его. - Ты планируешь записать новые версии конкурсной песни, ремиксы, версии на другом языке? - В настоящий момент, я не планирую ни версий на другом языке, ни ремиксов. Мы только что закончили работу над новой версией, немного измененной, мы постарались улучшить и инструментальную и вокальную части. - Ты уже снял видео на песню? - Да, мы вместе с Румынским телевидением работали над ним. Дан Манолиу, глава румынской делегации, был режиссером клипа. Надеюсь для вас оно окажется приятным сюрпризом. Будут ли какие-то новые изменения перед конкурсом? - Да, это так, в последние годы я часто довольно кардинально менял имидж. Но не думаю, что меня так уж было сложно узнать. Я пытался найти то, что мне подходит больше всего. Мне в общем все они интересны. До конкурса я не планирую что-то особенно менять. Мы лишь постараемся, чтобы мой имидж попал в общий ритм моей сценической постановки. - Вы уже обсуждали вопросы промо-тура? - Да ТВР организовывает для нас промо-тур, да конкурса в Афинах. Он уже начался, я уже был в Греции. - Какова твоя цель на конкурсе, какой результат ты посчитаешь удачным? - Конечно, первое место было бы идеальным результатом. Я надеюсь, что румынская песня получит как можно больше голосов. Результаты различных опросов и мнения фанатов Евровидения придают мне еще больше уверенности. Я вижу, что мою песню и мой голос оценили, и для меня это очень важно. Я надеюсь, что это не изменится и в Афинах. - Как ты думаешь, что наиболее важно для успешного выступления на Евровидении? Песня, исполнитель, сценическая постановка, промо-тур или что-то еще? - Я думаю, что все это важно. Но конечно, в первую очередь песня и голос. Я верю в то, что некачественный продукт нельзя продать, какой бы не была его реклама. Но, я думаю, что телезрители голосуют не только за песню и голос, но и за выступление на сцене. Раскрутка тоже важна, возьмем к примеру прошлый год - вся Европа уже знала песню до Евровидения и пела ее. "My Number One" хорошая песня, исполненная хорошей певицей, с запоминающимся и интересным сценическим шоу, и которая получила хорошую раскрутку в Европе. Это доказывает, что важны все составляющие. - Ты уже слушал другие песни участников из других стран? Ты планируешь их все прослушать до конкурса или сконцентрируешься только на своей подготовке. - Я уже слышал большинство из них. Не все, признаю, я был очень занят в последнее время. Но я хочу их все услышать, для меня это очень интересно. - Давай немного поговорим о твоей карьере. Что ты считаешь ее пиком на настоящий момент? - Я начал заниматься музыкой в 7 лет. Я участвовал во многих конкурсах, в Румынии и зарубежом. Я получил множество различных призов. В группе Валахия мы достигли большого успеха в Румынии, а с 2004 года успешно развивается и моя сольная карьера. Но я думаю, что это участиве в Евровидении - это для меня самое выдающееся достижение. Оно заставляет меня гордиться. И конечно в тоже время чувствовать ответственность. - Ты принимал участие во множестве международных фестивалей, какие были самые запоминающиеся для тебя? - Мне очень понравилось выступать в Сербии. Я получил там 4 премии и был очень рад. Это было для меня особенно... я там выступал и отдыхал одновременно. - Ты выступаешь в различных стилях, а какие твои любимые? - Я люблю все стили. Если это качественная музыка. - Можешь назвать нам своих любимых исполнителей? - Прежде всего это Мэрайа Кери, которая вдохновила меня на музыкальную карьеру и тяжелую работу для достижения моего сегодняшнего уровня. Я восхищен ее голосом. Мне очень нравятся Майкл Болтон, Крейг Дэвид, Ашер, Кристина Агилера, Селин Дион, Джастин Тимберлейк, Бойз ту Мен и многие другие хорошие исполнители с хорошими голосами. - Кого из исполнителей стран СНГ ты мог бы назвать? - Я помню, как Алла Пугачева вручила мне специальную премию, когда я выступал на одном из фестивалей в СНГ. Я запомнил это на всю жизнь. Она сказала: "Михай, просто пой на английском. Едь в Америку. Ты прекрасный певец и у тебя восхитительный голос". Я никогда этого не забуду. - Ты следишь за музыкальным рынком Румынии? Что ты думаешь о современной румынской музыке? - Я думаю, что Румынская индустрия сделала большой шаг вперед в последние годы. Много стилей, много имен, много профессионалов в области музыки. Я думаю, что мы на правильном пути. - И наконец, что бы ты хотел сказать посетителям нашего сайта? - Большое спасибо за интерес ко мне, моей карьере и нашей Румынской песне на Евровидении 2006 "Tornero". National Broadcaster TVR has selected 24 entries out of 148 submitted to participate in
the National preselection 2006. Two semifinals will be arranged on February 24 and 25 and
final is scheduled for February 26. Winner will be selected by televoting and jury voting.Artists and songwriters announced. Songtitles are yet to be revealed. After announcement of the list it appeared that songs submitted under the name of Umberto Tomassi are submitted without the consent of artists they are listed with. Under the name of Tomassi appeared to be Costi Ionita, who was already disqualified couple years ago for plagiarism. 3 replacement songs were called up. Song Vine Badea was released by band Edict as far back as in 2003 under the name Vino Bade so this song was also disqualified. |

Объявлены имена исполнителей и авторов песен, названия песен пока не известны. После объявления списка участников обнаружилось, что песни поданные под именем автора Umberto Tomassi на самом деле поданы без разрешения артистов, их исполняющих. Под именем Tomassi скрывался Costi Ionita, который уже был дисквалифицирован за плагиат несколько лет назад. Их заменили 3 песни из листа ожидания. 4th and once - runner-up. We wish him the best of luck this time. Mihai is also remembered
in CIS countries for his outstanding performances at Slavyanski Bazar contest. This month
he is also nominated for best singer in Romania 2005 and best song 2005. This year his song is called TORNERO, and it is partly performed in Italian. |
