today 42 year old Thomas Anders (ex-Modern
Talking) was officially confirmed as 3rd participant of German preselection.First comments of Thomas Anders were revealed recently in his interview to the website thomasanders-online.com/: - Few weeks ago I was asked whether I can imagine myself in the new selection procedure of German Grand-Prix, I thought it a bit and agreed. I don't know based on which criteria I was chosen. I just sent demo of my song to my managing company and it was accepted by jury. I don't know whether other singers were considered as well. My song is indeed ballad. It will be included in my next album. It is not finished yet, we're keeping work on it in studio. It will be premierred on my fan party on 7th of January. I think that I was selected among 3 finalists is already an honour for me. The idea of selection is that Germany will be represented in Athens by famous and experienced musiciants. If I will not win it will not hurt my image. All 3 of us will have very different songs and the final decision will only depend on the public taste. Sometimes we must have courage and take a risk! concert titled "Der deutsche Vorentscheid 2006 - 50 Jahre Grand Prix" will take
place in Hamburg on March 9th and will be hosted by Thomas Hermanns, who also revealed
that "the day on which I will host the German preselection 2006, will become the most
beautiful day of my life!". Besides own competing entries participants will also perform during the show cover versions of well-known ESC songs. Number of famous guests will attend the show, including Hape Kerkeling, Dirk Bach, Nicole. Also invited are laureats of Congratulations show Johnny Logan, Brotherhood of Man, Olsen Brothers.  At the National
Music Awards ceremony which took place in Armenia yesterday it was
officially announced that Armenia will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 and
national selection will take place in February. No further details are given. We're
expecting statement from National Broadcaster shortly with more details on national
selection.At the Awards ceremony Sirusho was named best female singer of the year in Armenia, while Andre took similar award for male artists. Both are highly tipped for Eurovision after this success. (thanks to GS)  Polish
selection update: 112 entries were received by TVP. Among other artists who have submitted
songs are Marta Wisniewska (RieN), Patrycja Kosiarkiewicz, Brathanki, Szymon Wydra,
Marysia Sadowska, Patrycja Kosiarkiewicz, Analog, Offside and Indigo. As we've reported
earlied Ich Troje and Ivan & Delfin are among participants as well. Surprise
appearance is by Anabel Conde (Spain 1995), who also has submitted her entry in Poland,
song "Sappho" written by Raphael Artesero. Belgian singer Danzel is another

Eurovision preselection. This time as a songwriter of "This is what we came
for", the entry which will be performed by Nina and Hanna-Riika, who were Geir's
backing vocalists at Eurovision 2005. However this seem to be not the last appearance of
Geir in the Eurovision 2006. Secure sources tell us he probably will be selected as one of
the participants of Norwegian National Final. At the meantime more songtitles and authors for Finnish preselection are revealed - Finland page. (YLE) List of 24 participating entries in Icelandic preselection was revealed (without performers as yet). You can find it here Among the authors are Anna Mjцll (Iceland 1996), Eyjуlfur Kristjбnsson (Eyfi, Iceland 1991), authors of "Tell me!" 2000, "Heaven" 2004. 216 entries were submitted to Icelandic broadcaster. Three semi finals will take place on 21 and 28 January and 4 February. Final is scheduled for 18th of February. Host of all Swedish semifinals will be ESC 2004 participant Lena Ph. It is not yet decided who will be her co-hosts, or who will host final of the selection. Speculations on the names of wildcards continue, different web resourses claim that among them will be Magnus Carlsson (ex-Barbados, Alcazar) and Charlotte Perrelli (winner of Eurovision 1999). Hosts of Norwegian semifinals are not so popular names, this job was given to Synnove Svabo & Stian Barsnes Simonsen (host of JESC 2004). |

 Entry submission
deadline in Lithuania has passed. 68 entries were received, among them 20
from foreign composers. Regular participants of preselection and other well known
performers B'avarija, Alanas Chosnau, Saules Kliosas, N.E.O., Artas, Edmundas Kucinskas,
Pusbroliai Aliukai ir sesute, Ruta Lukoseviciute, Mantas, Egidijus Sipavicius, Giulija,
Artas, Road Band, InCulto are again among those who have entered the contest. Interesting
joint project LT United - are Viktoras Diawara from Skamp and Andrius Mamontovas. Singer Amberlife has submitted same entry that has already qualified to the semifinals in Latvia. As singer claims, in case of win in both countries he will perform for his homeland Lithuania, despite the fact that Latvia is automatic qualifier in finals of ESC 2006. Next all participants will be separated in 2 groups and new and unknown singers will have to pass through series of castings which will run weekly starting 7th of January to qualify to the semifinals, which will take place in February.  EBU has intention to host Junior
Eurovision 2007 in Russia as our inside sources in Russian JESC team revealed to
our site. EBU representatives are looking forward to expand Junior Eurovision contest to
the CIS countries and already Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia are interested to participate
in 2006 contest, Belarus won contest in 2005, but it is Russian audience that keeps being
a major attention for organizers of the show. Impressive TV ratings in Russia (around 8% for whole Russia, and around 9% for Moscow where show was transmitted live) achieved during their debut in the contest and potential audience of 150 million of viewers are one of the major criterias that can help Russia, which never hosted neither ESC or JESC, to organize EBU song contest. "Channel Russia" has debuted in the show and finished on 9th place. Among other contenders for 2007 JESC is also Cyprus, which despite withdrawal from 2005 contest revealed it's interest to host show in 2007. 2006 contest will take place in Romania. |

Телеканал "Россия" дебютировал в конкурсе в 2005 году и занял 9е место из 16 участников. song selection in UK are suggested by Independent newspaper:Members of the public will be asked to put forward their own compositions. BBC Radio 2 will then draw up a shortlist of 10 songs, with a panel of music stars choosing the best one. That track will be entered into a televised vote against four professionally written tracks, with viewers picking the final Eurovision hopeful. Organisers have already given some pointers to the types of song that will do best - R&B tunes and folk are out, they say. But rock, dance, big ballads and straightforward pop will work. Recent hits that the competition bosses think might offer inspiration include "Hard to Beat" by Hard-Fi, "Push the Button" by Sugababes and "Good Luck" by Basement Jaxx. Colin Martin, Radio 2's music editor, said: "Every year, people sit there and think: 'we can do better than that. I'm sure I can come up with a song that is as good as that'. Now we are giving people the opportunity, so let's see what happens." |

| Monaco has selected it's 2006 Eurovision entry. No further
details are given besides it is composed by J.Woodfeel. It is believed that some
well-known record company is behind this entry. Performer for the song will be chosen as
usual during castings which will take place in January in Monaco and Paris. TMC is looking
for 6 performers: 5 female and 1 male. French TV and French head of delegation Bruno
Berberes are supposed to assist TMC in this search. (ESCToday) Meanwhile France itself is discussing the concept of new young talents show, which will be reportedly be presented by Pascal Sevran. No further details are given at the moment. Those who want to apply should check this page. selection comittee has revealed titles and authors of 50 entries that have qualified to
the second stage of preselection. They were selected from 213 submitted entries. Now all
50 songs should be presented live to the jury on 17th of December, and 16 songs will be
selected for the final of the national selection. Full list is available here. Remarkably 6 entries in the list were written by Vella - Borg duet, while Ray Agius has 4 entries. |

Eurovision 2006. This was later confirmed by MTV representative to doteurovision.com/
website. During the Kiev contest several members of delegation noted to us that their broadcaster will not be able to host the contest in case of their win, and more than that, their financial problems can lead to withdrawal from the contest at all. This sadly turned to be true. EBU representatives earlier reacted they won't speculate on the provisional list of entrants and the full list is due to be published after December 27th, 2005, though some sources claimed preliminary list featured 38 participants (39 countries in 2005 minus Austria). Earlier Austrian broadcaster has announced that they will not be interested to participate in ESC 2006. Among possible new countries arabic states, Armenia and Georgia were rumoured. No confirmation of any sort from Arabic states was received. Representatives of Armenian TV has confirmed that they are in process of negotiations with EBU but have not yet revealed whether this talks ended in positive result. Representatives of Georgian TV previously claimed that because of financial difficulties they won't be able to make debut in 2006 and will be delaying it till 2007. |

continues to reveal National preselections lists of final entries, and now it's Estonia's
turn. National final is scheduled for February 4th. 4 places this year were automatically
given to famous composers: Mikk Targo, Priit Pajusaar, Alar Kotkas and Ivar Must. Other
entries were selected from 76 submissions received by ETV. Professional jury to select
songs was made of: Jaak Joala, Priit Hobemagi, Jaan Elgula, Olavi Pihlamagi, Maarja-Liis
Ilus, Maido Maadik, Jaan Karp, Heidy Purga, Olav Osolin and Jaagup Kreem. Now songwriters

| CIS states have started preparation to the
National preselections for Eurovision 2006. In Ukraine
local castings for "You're A Star" selection are already underway and are said
to be quite popular among local artists. Other countries are just forming organizing
comittees for preparations to the contest and are publishing reglaments for national
preselections. In Belarus again preselection for the contest will be run on govermental level. Co-chairmen of organizing comittee are vice-prime minister Vladimir Drazhin and vice-head of administration of Belarus president Oleg Proleskovskiy. Members of comittee are also Minister of Culture, Minister of Sport and Tourism, Minister of Information, Head of Belteleradiocompany. Reglament of the national preselection was just published. The scheme of the national preselection remains the same as last year. Submission deadline is set on 9th of January 2006. List of participants will be published not later than on 12th of January. Preselection concert (semifinal of 15 songs) is scheduled for 10th of February. 3 best songs by televoting qualify to the internal final of selection by jury and winner is due to be announced in the end of February 2006 In Moldova goverment already alocated 175 thousands of leu (11.5 thousand euros) for paying participation fee. National Preselection is scheduled to take place in February. Now organizing comittee is forming regulations of this event. It is planned that like in previous year National Final of 15 songs will be held. Russian Channel One holds all preparation details in a secret and it is only known that there will be open preselection and it will be close to the format used last year. |

к конкурсу. В Беларуси подготовка к конкурсу осуществляется на государственном уровне. В состав оргкомитета вошли заместитель премьер-министра Беларуси (сопредседатель оргкомитета) Владимир Дражин, заместитель главы Администрации президента Беларуси (сопредседатель оргкомитета) Олег Пролесковский, министр культуры Леонид Гуляко, председатель Белтелерадиокомпании Владимир Матвейчук, министр спорта и туризма Александр Григоров, министр информации Владимир Русакевич и др. Только что были опубликованы правила национального отбора. Его схема не изменилась с прошлого года и осталась прежней. Подача заявок ограничена 9м января 2006 года. Список участников будет опубликован не позднее 12го января. Отборочный концерт из 15 песен намечен на 10е февраля. Три лучших исполнителя по мнению телезрителей проходят в последний этап - внутренний отбор жюри - и победитель его будет назван в течении февраля 2006 года. В Молдове уже выделено 175 тысяч лей (11.5 тысяч евро) на оплату взноса страны. Проведение отборочного тура запланировано на февраль. Как и в прошлый раз планируется проведение национального финала из 15 песен. Подготовка Первого Канала к Евровидению держится в секрете и известно лишь, что отбор будет открытым и близким к прошлогоднему формату. |

 Submission period in Poland ends on 10th of
December, and by 20th of December organizing comittee of National Preselection is due to
reveal finalists of Polish National Final which will take it's place on January 28. As our collegues from OGAE Poland have confirmed, no entry from popular Russian/Ukraine artist Verka Serduchka (Andrei Danilko) was received so far. Andrei has stated his interest to participate in Polish preselection in case his talks with management of Channel One will lead nowhere, and was even preparing performance together with Michal Wisniewski, charismatic leader of Ich Troje band (Poland 2003). But this project had never happened and Ich Troje has submitted two new songs, sung by band members with titles "Where Do You Go" and "Follow My Heart", which are avaiable to prelisten at their website. Another ex-participants "Ivan & Delfin" have also prepared three potential entries for national preselection titled "Niebo i ziemia", "Dwie gwiazdy" and "I Want To Get Your Number", which are available to listen at official site of the band. Band also asks fans to help to select one of the songs which is more suitable as potential Eurovision entry. You can vote in this poll till 19th of December. Андрей в своих прошлых интервью высказал намерение принять участие в Польском национальном отборе к Евровидению, если его переговоры с менеджментом Национального Канала окончатся ничем. Планировался совместный трек в дуэте Верки с харизматичным лидером группы Их Трое - Михалом Вишниевски. Однако, дуэт, увы не состоялся, и группа Их Трое подала две собственные заявки на участие в Польском отборе - песни "Where Do You Go" и "Follow My Heart", которые вы можете прослушать на сайте группы. revealed (VRT, eurosong.be). 321 entries were submitted.Belgian final will take place on 19th of February. Four quaterfinals will take place on 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th January, with semifinals scheduled for 5th and 12th February. The top three of each quaterfinal proceeds to the semifinals, that makes 12 semifinalists and 2 more will be added by jury from quaterfinal loosers. In each semi there will be 7 songs. Top 3 qualify to final and 1 wild card given by jury. Final will feature 7 songs.  A song by Maltese duo Philip Vella and Gerard James
Borg, has been chosen to take part in the Belgian semi finals for the Eurovision Song
contest."Beyond You" will be performed by popular Belgian artist Vanessa Chinitor who has already represented her country in 1999 with the song "Like The Wind." This is a comeback for Vanessa after 7 years of her first participation in Eurosong. Earlier this year, she told newspapers in Belgium that she will only take part in the contest again if she finds the right song. It seems her search has lead her to a cooperation with Malta's very own Philip Vella and Gerard James Borg, who have written three successful entries for the international contest already. |

Editorial: Varvara or Angelica?
Spot differences!  Tactics are changed by
Russian singer Varvara managing office. After singer and her team have made costly attempt
to visit Copenhagen with the aim to suggest new Varvara's song to every participating
broadcaster hoping that any of them will fall for this and Varvara will represent
"any country that will invite us", lately new strategy was developed again using
patriotic slogans. As we know Varvara's team includes several members of team that worked
at the contest 2005 with Belarus singer Angelica Agurbash, so they keep using similar
promotion methods (though it is not new for Varvara's team - as image of the singer
recently is absolutely similar to image of ESC winner Ruslana). As Angelica used to repeat
that she is invited to represent UK and Germany at Eurovision Song Contest - Varvara
echoes that issuing press-releases claiming she is in negotiations to represent
Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium and Cyprus, which are doing their best to ensure that
Russian singer will perform for their countries.Unfortunately all this were only sorts of PR from Varvara's team, we already know who will represent Switzerland, list of Dutch finalists, also we know that Varvara has not submitted entry to the open preselections in Belgium and Cyprus. At the moment when there is no sense to repeat this claims more - another step used last year is made. "I'm Belarussian and will represent only my country at the contest", claims Agurbash, "I'm Russian and I want to perform only for Russia" repeats Varvara. Next steps are known in advance - Angelica has "ensured" her win last year in Belarus, and now our sources claim that despite another open preselection will be held in Russia this year, it's winner will be known in advance, and Varvara has all means and forces to "esnure" her win there, as history completely repeats itself - Elena Susova (real name of the singer Varvara) and Lika Yalinskaya (real name of Angelica) both are mothers of three children and wives of Mosvow businessmen. The singer herself is absolutely confident that she already is Russian representative at the contest 2006, mentioning this everywhere. What can we expect next? To repeat scenario in full, we may see million spendings on promo campaign, using of lobby among ESC fans, preparation of special performance - and ... total failure in the semifinal of the contest. As it is impossible to buy vocal and talent - the polls among European Eurovision fans show only that Varvara is remembered for the fact she couldn't carry a single note in Russian final 2005. We will finish quoting one of the fans of the contest from Europe: We're sick and tired of those russian maffiamob and their cheap painted sluts selling and buying at ESC as if it's their home oil market. What image we're creating for our country? What result we will achieve with it? We just have to hope that really fair preselection will take place, where such a performers will stand no chance. |

Как известно, в команду Варвары входит ряд представителей команды, работавшей на конкурсе 2005 с Анжеликой Агурбаш, и методы раскрутки используются практически те же самые (хотя в команде Варвары это не новость - ведь имидж певицы последнее время аналогичен имиджу Русланы). Так Анжелика в своих интервью неоднократно заявляла, о якобы имеющих место приглашениях представить на конкурсе Евровидение Великобританию и Германию - у Варвары это трансформировалось в пресс-релизы о якобы ведущихся переговорах со Швейцарией, Голландией, Бельгией и Кипром, которые якобы делают все возможное, чтобы Российская певица представила их страну. Увы, все это лишь тактические ходы команды Варвары - уже объявлены участники от Швейцарии, списки финалистов отбора Голландии, стало известно, что заявка от певицы не подавалась на открытые отборы ни в Бельгии, ни на Кипре. В тот момент, когда что-то голословно заявлять уже становится небезопасно - применяется очередной ход опробованный в прошлом году - патриотизм. "Я беларуска, и я буду представлять только свою страну на конкурсе", заявляет Агурбаш, "Я россиянка и хочу выступать только от России", вторит ей Варвара. Дальнейшие ходы тоже известны и легко предсказуемы - Анжелика закулисно "обеспечивает" себе победу в Беларуси, наши источники заявляют, что несмотря на то, что в России вновь будет проведен открытый отбор - его победитель будет известен заранее - и у Варвары есть все средства и возможности "обеспечить" себе победу на нем, ведь история повторяется и в том, что Елена Сусова (настоящее имя певицы), как и Лика Ялинская (Агурбаш) - мать троих детей и жена московского бизнесмена. В этом абсолютно не сомневается и сама певица, говорящая всем о своей стопроцентной уверенности в победе. Что же нас может ждать дальше? Для полного повторения сценария - милионные затраты на промокампанию, использование лобби, подготовка эффектного выступления... - и провал в полуфинале конкурса. Ведь голос и талант не купишь - опросы Европейских фанатов показывают, что певицу Варвару прежде всего помнят за тот факт, что на прошлогоднем отборе она не смогла попасть ни в одну ноту. Закончим цитатой одного из фанатов конкурса: Мы уже абсолютно устали от этой русской мафии и их дешевых бездарностей, которые думают, что они могут все скупить на Евровидении, как будто это их нефтяной рынок. Чего мы добиваемся? Какой имидж создаем стране? Остается лишь надеяться на справедливый отбор, в котором подобные исполнители не будут иметь никаких шансов. |

line-up of the band six4one which will represent Switzerland at
Eurovision Song Contest 2006 has been revealed. The casting session for Switzerland's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens was held between 25 and 27 November in the Olympia Studios in Munich. The organisers' aim was to find singers with the winning combination of voice and personality. Organizers were looking for 6 highly professional soloists from different European countries.  As we already revealed
Liel from Israel is first singer to join Six4One. We have already introduced her
below. Andreas Lundstedt, from Sweden, is a member of the world-famous band Alcazar. The band had the whole of Europe humming in 2002 with only its second single, "Crying at the Discotheque". Andreas has been in show business since he was a child. At the tender age of five he took second place in a talent contest, and by 15 was singing and appearing on television in the child band "Stage Four". After spending two years in New York, he returned to take part in the Swedish national heats for the Eurovision Song Contest, in which he was runner-up with "Driver dagg faller regn". The track was a huge hit in Sweden. He has since gone on to perform in a variety of musicals, including Grease and Chicago, and is currently starring as Toni Manero in Saturday Night Fever at the Oscarsteatern in Stockholm.  Tinka Milinovic
is from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Born in Sarajevo, at 18 she moved on her own to the USA, where
she studied singing at Louisiana College. In 1996, she graduated with a bachelor's degree
before continuing her studies at the University of Louisiana's School of Music, where she
majored in opera singing, performance and teaching. In addition to playing a variety of
roles in musicals and operas, she performed as a soloist and also worked with the Sarajevo
Philharmonics. In 2005, Tinka took part in Bosnia / Herzegovina's national Eurovision Song Contest heats. Here, she was the TV audience's favourite and was placed second by the nine-strong jury. For two years now, Tinka has had her own radio talk show on Bosnia's biggest radio station, and is also a regular presenter of the "TV Bingo Show". Another well-known singer comes from Malta: Keith Camilleri is a regular guest on Maltese television shows and also acts in a popular television series. In February 2004, he took part in the Maltese national Eurovision Song Contest heats, coming an excellent fourth with the song "Tango for two". In 2005, Keith again enjoyed musical success in Malta with the track "Sunshine in your eyes".  Marco Matias' roots are in
Portugal. Although his parents emigrated to Germany, he returns regularly to his homeland.
Marco and his band took third place in the "Grand Prix" music contest for the
Portuguese-speaking world in Portugal in 2000. Three years later he took part in the open
casting session to find the voice of Germany 2003. Out of 12,000 entrants, Marco made it
to the last nine and was ultimately placed second in this major ZDF production. Marco and
his duet partner Nicole Sьssmilch achieved another second place in the German national
heats for this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Last but not least, the group
includes Claudia D’Addio of
Switzerland. Claudia has been known as "The Voice" since her appearance on the
MusicStar casting show. Along with the other "MusicStars", she has already
celebrated two number-one hits. Claudia's incredible voice makes her without doubt one of
Switzerland's best singers. Her passionate performances give away her Italian roots. Ralph Siegel: “I am more than happy about the fact that we found such great and charming singers. When they came together in the studio, we knew that we had the right mix, they sounded great and radiated personality. The six artists work well together and the end result is better than we could have ever hoped for. The idea for the group came to me this summer when I was in Italy. Bernd sent me a demo tape of a song he had written in September and asked me to develop it. The song was completed just three days ahead of the deadline to enter the song to the Swiss Eurovision team. Альказар. Группа Альказар завоевала практически
всю Европу уже вторым своим синглом "Crying at the

"Sunshine in your eyes". Марко Матиас родом из Португалии. Хотя его родители эмигрировали в Германию, он все равно часто посещает свою родную страну. Автор песни Ральф Зигель: "Я более чем рад тому, что мы смогли найти таких прекрасных исполнителей. Когда мы собрали их вместе в студии мы сразу поняли, что подобрали правильную комбинацию, они звучали великолепно. Вместе они прекрасно сработались и результат получился даже лучше, чем мы ожидали. Идея создания группы пришла ко мне летом, когда я был в Италии. Бернд прислал мне демо запись песни, которую он написал в сентябре и попросил меня доработать ее.  The young singer Liel Colette
will represent Switzerland in Eurovision 2006 that will take place in Greece. Colette, 16, is almost unknown singer in Israel, is in close relations with the German procuder Ralph Siegel, was invited to Germany by the head of the Swiss artist selection committee, where she was announced that they want her as their representative. Siegel played a recording of Liel's songs to the committee, which liked what they heard, and invited her to a successful meeting. Liel will be joined by singers from other countries to form the group that will represent Switzerland, which will be called "Six for one". "If Switzerland wins, then Israel will win too", says her personal manager Irit Tenhengel. "It's just a contest and it's good for everyone. Liel is a true embassador, wherever she goes she explains and sings about Israel". On 14 January Liel she will perform in the Swiss "Oscar" awards, in which she will be officially announced as the Swiss entrant in the coming Eurovision. Зигель представил записи Лиэль швейцарской комиссии, отбиравшей исполнителей, которые могли бы представить страну на конкурсе «Евровидения». Швейцарцы были в восторге, и вскоре с Лиэль был подписан договор о том, что она, вместе с пятью другими исполнителями, выступит под флагом Швейцарии в составе вокальной группы Six For One.
