Latvian Television has announced the full line up for the
2004 Latvian National final. After receiving a record 69 potential songs, a jury of 10
members – musicians, journalists and fans of the contest from Latvia, Estonia, Russia,
Sweden, German, Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Slovenia, has selected ten finalists
and three standby songs. |

| This union of musicians from
Leipaja formed in the fall of 2002, when they recorded their first song "Sniegs"
("Snow"), which had much success on radio, and also achieved 3rd place in the
Latvian National Television Music Video Awards. The duo's next single,
"Solijums" ("Promise") was also frequently played on many Latvian
radio stations. The song's video, directed by Zaklina Cinovska, can still be seen on TV.
The third radio single "Kur esi tu" ("Where Are You") was dedicated to
Kleins's friend and band mate from Livi, Ainars Virga, who was spending an extended time
in the US. As per the musicians themselves, they play lyrical rock and roll. In July of 2003, Fomins & Kleins participated in the international song festival "Baltic Song Contest" and achieved fourth place. The festival itself was shown on Swedish television, as well as Poland's national television. Neither musician is a beginner, and both are well known from their previous musical projects. They have previously played together in the Liepaja underground group Saldas Sejas, where, in addition to them, were notable Latvian musician Zigfrids Muktupavels, Guntars Racs and Aldis Zimants. They also played together in the groups Neptuns and Libau. Ivo Fomins has taken part in many musical projects in Latvia, among them playing in the group Liepajas Brali, and, as a solo artists, has preformed in Russia, Poland, Austria, Denmark, and elsewhere in the world, including the US music festival "Big Apple". Tomass Kleins plays in composer Janis Lusens's group, as well as continuing to play in the group Livi. On their album Muzikants (Musician), released in early 2003, Tomass Kleins composed the music, and Guntars Racs wrote the lyrics. |
