A jury which included journalists, senior IBA management and two former Eurovision entrants (Lior Narkis and Gali Atari) has decided that in 2004, David D'Or, the singer, who started his professional life as a classically trained tenor, will represent Israel at Eurovision. At preselection event on January 29 David will perform 4 songs. Selection is planned to be conducted during basketball match.
D'Or has six albums to his name and all of them have reached gold status. He is also a regular guest performer with the world's most prestigious orchestras, among them the Baltimore Symphony, Israel Philharmonic, Rome Philharmonic, Budapest Philharmonic, and Vienna Symphony.
Other possibilities included girl-group Hamsa and Ninette Teib.
Жюри, включавшее в себя журналистов, руководителей ИБА и двух бывших участников Евровидения (Лиор Наркис и Гали Атари) решило, что в 2004 году Израиль на Евровидении представит Давид Д'Ор, певец, который начинал свою карьеру как классический тенор. На отборе 29 января он исполнит 4 песни. Отбор запланировано провести во время важного баскетбольного матча.
Д'Ор уже выпустил 6 альбомов и все из них получили статус золотых. Он такжо обычных гость различных шоу с участием самых престижных оркестров мира, включая Балтиморский, Израильский, Римский, Будапештский и Венский.
Другими кандидатурами, которые рассматривались жюри были группа Хамса и Нинет Теиб.

Born in Israel, Graduated the Jerusalem Music Academy.
In 1986 David D'Or served in the Israeli army, enlisted in a military artistic group, works closely with the best of Israel's musicians and directors.
In 1991 David was accepted to the Jerusalem Academy of Music, classical music dept. Zubin Mhata, Israel's Symphony Orchestra director invited David to be his Solo singer at "Carmina Burna" by Carl Orf, performing in a series of concerts all over the country.
At the time of his release from the army, David was invited by the Israeli National Theater "Habima" to be a part of the cast in different performances, among them "Blood Marriage" by Lorka, directed by Channan Shir, "Cabaret", directed by Jerome Svary, "Tartiff", directed by Robert Stroah, music by Gaya Kenchelli, "Cry My Beloved County" music by Kurt Vile, where David got outstanding reviews. David stayed with the national theater for 4 years.
Side by side with his classical education, David was always drawn by ethnic music, an interest which led him in 1995 to produce his first album with the group Natural Choice, comprised of ethnic musicians. this album has been ever since a top choice in all music programs on the radio and TV.
Same year, 1995, David received an invitation from the Vatican to perform for the Pope. His concert integrated original ethnic music, with European classics. the concert was a huge success and received numerous reviews in many European newspapers and TV interviews. Following that concert, David has been invited to many performances throughout Italy, appearing on many TV shows such as Mauricio Constenzo, Italy's First TV channel, and Paulo Limiti, of the Italian 2nd TV Channel.
The praise of the Italian press critics such as Courira de La Sierra and La Republica were highly esteemed, The audience received him very affectionately and as a result David is often invited to return to Italy. David has been since touring also the USA's major cities, such as Washington DC, Los Angeles, Toledo, New Jersey and Memphis, where he received high praises by the local reviews.
David continues to tour also in Germany, Turkey and Sweden, where he recorded music for a show under the direction of the Swedish National Theater in 1997, Ra'anana Symphony Orchestra commissioned an original work, specially written for David, called The Children of God. The music comprises of sentences appearing in the 3 religions, Jewish, Moslem and Christian, emphasizing the message of 'love your neighbor'. The work has been composed by the famous Georgian composer Josef Bardanashvilly, and consequently opened a series of concerts of the orchestra in Israel and throughout the USA, and was a great success.
David D'Or's concerts are much in demand all over the world and he continues touring and performing in Israel, Europe and USA.

В 1986 году Д'Ор начинает службу в израильской армии, участвует в военном оркестре, работает с лучшими израильскими музыкантами.

Его концерт включает как оригинальную этник музыку, так и европейскую классику, концерт закончился большим успехом и был отмечен во многих СМИ Европы. После этого концерта Давид дал несколько выступлений в Италии, включая шоу на первом и втором канале национального телевидения.
Давид также был приглашен в турне по США, которое охватило Вашингтон, Лос Анжелес, Нью Джерси и Мемфис.
Тур Давида продолжается в Германии, Турции и Швеции, где он записывает музыку для шоу с участием шведского симфонического оркестра The Children of God.
